We really enjoyed our stay here. The fenced in backyard was perfect for our dogs. We usually stay a bit closer to the beach, but the location was nice and quiet and not having to walk the dogs every time they needed to go out certainly made up for the fact that we had to walk 2 blocks to the beach. We will likely be back next year.

I chose this property because of the character of it and the beachy feel it has. It did not disappoint. It is all one level so easy to move around it. It is well maintained and very clean. It is very well stocked with whatever utensils and such you might need. Paper products were provided. it is more spacious than it looks. 2 bedrooms and a futon in the family room . 2 bathrooms. Also, within walking distance to all restaurants, shops, and the beach in Topsail which was real nice. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Myers Cottage and will plan to stay there again in the future. I highly recommend this cottage for your next vacay. You won't be disappointed!

The house is located close to everything. It is a very nice quiet location. The roller-skating rink is a throwback to years gone by and we had a great time playing Bingo! We hope to make it back in the near future.

Overall stay was great. The place is older but still decorated very cutely. I didn’t feel it was the cleanest it could be. Dust and dirt in corners around baseboards dust on ceiling fans, toilets could have been cleaner. All the kitchen essentials were also older and some of the spatulas and kitchen utensils could use an update but other than that there’s really no complaints. Owners answered any questions we had. Loved how we could walk to coffee shops, restaurants, ice cream places and the beach access is super close. Rooftop porch had a wonderful view we loved sitting up there in the evenings. It’s also a quiet area at night so we could sleep. Would definitely stay again!

We loved the property- it had everything you need and extra of everything. Having access to the laundry units made for a clean and sand-free trip home. This was the first vacation rental we've had where we didnt have to clean the entire property plus pay a hefty cleaning fee. Very easy check-in and check-out process. The walk to the beach, food, coffee and/or night entertainment all under 5 minutes.

the ONLY down side to this property... not closer to the beach but the fenced backyard made up for this.
I do hope to stay here again.

We had so much fun during our week at the Myers Cottage! We love the location as it is a very short walking distance from The Breezeway Restaurant, The Assembly Building (where we had fun playing Bingo on Thursday night), and Four Cousins Ice Cream (where we had delicious ice cream each night :) It is a short walking distance to the public access, but it is also very easy to drive and park (for free) in parking spaces right by the public beach access. We loved sitting on the deck in the evenings to watch the sunset. The home had everything that we needed and it was a very comfortable stay. We don't have any dogs now, but we know that our dear dogs of the past would have enjoyed their stay, including the fenced-in yard. Communication was excellent!

The location of the cottage is perfect. It’s in short walking distance to everything. We were right in the middle of all the fun stuff. We loved the bay views and watching the sunset from the top deck. The kids loved that all the fun activities were in all sides of the cottage in walking distance. The beach was not crowded at all and it was such a short walk. We loved that the house is set up to accommodate dogs. We never had to worry about them getting loose. Such a nice neighborhood to walk them in. We would definitely stay again!!

This house is adorable and perfectly situated right in Topsail, within walking distance of everything. There are multiple great outdoor spaces, including a large fenced-in yard for your pup. Our only complaint was with the cleanliness of the property. We understood it was an older cottage when we booked it and didn't expect anything glamourous, nor did we want a super fancy property that we had to tip-toe around.... however, the house was very dusty and didn't appear to have been cleaned thoroughly after the last guests. There was dust on most surfaces (like the lampshades had a coat of fur and the bases were covered in a layer of dust), weird spots on the furniture, and most of the dishes had a filmy residue and fingerprints, so we rewashed everything before use. Overall, it was just a little grimy and not the most comfortable for relaxing, especially if you're stuck indoors with poor weather. Fortunately, we spent most of our time outside the cottage on the porch and decks and exploring the area. If this property was given a little TLC and thoroughly cleaned between guests, I would definitely stay here again.

Clean and cute beach house. Loved the multiple decks which gave options for being outside in the shade or sun and in or out of the wind. Easy walk to the local shops/restaurants, beach or sound. Would recommend to others and would stay here again!

Dusty musty and lumpy. House was okay but not that clean. Only comfortable place to sit or rest was a dirty recliner (sofa and beds are uncomfortable). The amount of work they expect the guest to do before checking out I have never experienced (and the fees if you do not do the work are ridiculous, and makes you wonder what the cleaning person actually does). Location is great, but not worth the price of this rental.

We were looking for a pet friendly property at the beach. There aren't many. I would describe the property as rustic
. Everything worked. Our dog loved the large fenced backyard. Nice covered front porch. Floors were wood and a mite uneven but not a problem. It was quiet and thats what we were looking for. Would stay there again in February.

My husband, myself and 2 small dogs had a wonderful time staying here! The fenced in back yard was perfect for the fur babies! Very short walk to the beach and the restaurants. We didn’t drive anywhere the days we were there, except to get groceries on the first day. It was a wonderful, peaceful, relaxing vacation that was much needed! Fully stocked kitchen with everything you need as far as dishwater and cooking items. Overall, it was wonderful!

A great Easter stay!
My husband, my 2 Jack Russel Terriers, and I stayed here over the 2022 Easter holiday. This was our 3rd time here and it was great to see some updates and improvements on the bungalow! There's indoor/outdoor carpet on the front and back porches, which was soft on our feet, the back staircase was brand new with excellent night lighting, and the front elevation was painted with a gorgeous blue door! There was also some new and comfortable rockers added to the front porch. Love this place, great spots to walk, easy and quick access to the beach, fenced in yard is terrific, air is fresh, house is nicely stocked with necessities, and a short ride to Publix. Great cozy place and we can't wait to go back!

we have been coming to Topsail for over 30 years. We've always loved the south end of the island but never stayed there.
The little cottage was perfect and right in the community we love. we could walk to our favorite restaurant, bookstore, inlet or beach.

Great New Year's Stay
My husband, 2 JRTs, and I stayed 28Dec2021-01Jan2022 for our beach New Year's vacation. We love this place (2nd time we've stayed here). The accommodations are clean and the perfect size for the 4 of us. It's well-equipped and functional. We're a block away from the beach, which is perfect because it's quiet. There are minimal steps in the front and back, which is great for our dogs who don't love stairs. The backyard is fully fenced, super for our dogs. We love the quaintness and quietness "off-the-beaten-path" vibe of this cottage. I had to contact the owner, Keith, and he was extremely responsive and helpful! We made lots of great memories and look forward to going back!

Great location/cozy house
This house is perfect for a small family or 2 couples. The location is ideal, close to the beach, restaurants, shops, etc. You almost don't need to get in your car from the time you arrive to the time you leave. The upper deck is great for dinner/drinks in the evening to watch the sun set.

Great for bringing the dog!
This rental and neighborhood wasn’t love at first sight but they both really grew on us. The neighborhood looked like it was going to be loud with a motel a block away. But really, there was little traffic and it was not noisy. This was definitely the most pet friendly house we have ever rented. The town turned out to be really quaint all in all. Surf City Scoops had the best ice cream we have had in a decade and Lewis’s fish market was walking distance and had the best seafood and meats! There are several great restaurants and shops nearby and an old school roller skating rink! Regarding the house, the upper deck was awesome and when it rained we enjoyed playing Yahtzee in the back extension. My husband also enjoyed having his own 2nd shower! Overall we really enjoyed our stay!

Comfy and cozy
We had a great stay. The property was clean and comfortable. The beach was within walking distance. There are good restaurants and gift shops within walking distance. We will definitely be back! Also, we were able to bring our dog.

Great location but house could use an update
We loved the location of the house! We were a little disappointed and off put by the amount of cockroaches we spotted in the house, we were killing between 3-5 a day. I messaged the host about it on Vrbo and never heard back and that was also disappointing. Additionally, a lot of the dishes in the kitchen cabinets were dirty and had little dead bugs in them. I felt like we cleaned more on the trip than we relaxed. I wouldn't stay here again.

Great getaway!
I got married during Covid, our whole honeymoon and plans turned upside down. I was able to secure this house within 24hours and they were so flexible with the dates. It was clean,close to beach, and everything I expected!

A great stay
We really enjoyed this property. It was clean and had plenty of space for us. Its location across from the sound is beautiful. I really enjoyed being able to walk to several restaurants and shops as well as the beach. A nice quiet little town.

Cottage was as advertised. It was a nice place to stay and only a few minutes walk to the beach. Also a big plus for us is it’s dog friendly and has a fenced yard and a gate out front so your dog is not going to run away. I will plan on staying here again.

Great family beach spot
The property was a perfect location for our family. Quiet area for kids and family to relax. Close walk to everything. It is an easy walk to all the town's attractions. Unfortunately the COVID restrictions had some local attractions closed but the beach and town is still amazing. The property is very pet friendly and the owners are extremely nice people. You can tell they put in a lot of effort to maintain this property. Thank you for a wonderful vacation spot.

Quiet home, great for dogs
The house was a great deal for those who want a house that's dog friendly, with a great location close to the beach, and stocked with all essentials. The only negative was the bathroom that needed to be updated and cleaned. That was already noted in a previous review. Overall, we had a relaxing time with our two little dogs who loved the fenced backyard.

Awesome Cottage Stay
Our cottage stay was awesome! The Owners were accommodating, extremely responsive, and provided ample upfront info! We traveled with our 2 Jack Russell Terriers; arrived a couple of days after Christmas, stayed through New Year's Eve, then departed on New Year's Day. It is a great cottage! It's eclectically decorated, clean, and well-stocked. The kitchen had plenty of dishes, a microwave, and a dishwasher (super convenient!). We made ourselves at home, cooked breakfast every morning, then explored! There is in-house laundry, plenty of pantry storage; full-size fridge too! The walk to the beach is 5 minutes; several Public Access points; views of the ICWW; you can hear the waves and smell the ocean. There is no ocean-view (we knew this prior to arriving); however, the Fenced-in Yard totally made up for the missing ocean-view because we did not have to leash our dogs every time they needed potty breaks. Super-awesome! We brought our own linens/towels because we've done this a few times and already had them. We brought our Roku for movies. It was just the 2 of us, so we ate in the 2-person dinette table; however, if you're a family, you may need to sit separately. Overall, we had excellent weather and had such a pleasant/relaxing time. We would love to go back!
