We had the best weekend away and the cabin was a big reason why! So comfy and cozy and the perfect stay for our family

This cabin was a great place for my wife and I to celebrate an anniversary! Also loved how close it was to Grandfather mountain.

It ia a Beautiful mountain home, furnished with everything. This house is stocked with nice cookware, and all the little comforts of home. Melinda and Larry are great hosts. Best vacation in years. We are looking forward to staying there again soon.

Great house. Had everything we needed

Stayed 3 nights in the middle of August and enjoyed the cool mountain air . Well equipped kitchen with nice appliances. 4 beds were comfortable . Driveway could be challenging with 2 wheel drive , just get a running start. Wish the view of the mountains was better. Served our purpose for family get together.

Very comfortable cabin off the beaten path between Blowing Rock and Grandfather Mountain. Hope to return again soon.

Cute but dated decor. Deck furniture not comfortable. Some cleaning had to be done upon arrival, top of dining table, spider webs, light switches a bit grimy. Just felt like it needed a deep cleaning. Some of the towels were pretty warn. Neighbor dogs were barking during the night from their cages outside. No chairs for the fire ring and if we had known this we would have brought some. Last renters left a huge log or stump in the fire pit but luckily, we were able to make a fire for smores because it could not be moved. Lower level bedroom area was musty. Positives, close to Blowing Rock and Grandfather mountain. Nice peaceful deck out back.

We booked a last minute stay for Fourth of July weekend to getaway from the city, relax and celebrate our dogs birthday. Blowing Rock/Boone are great getaways to help relieve stress and reset your bodies. With that out of the way, this property was fantastic! Great modern amenities, (dish washer, disposal, WiFi) and a lot of space. Amazing back deck looking over a peaceful forest, yard for dogs and great views on the drive up. Extremely clean and well kept, with all the pots/pans and utensils needed. Only two very minor gripes. The driveway took a little finessing at first to get our car out the first time, but after we figured out the gravel, It was no problem at all. I wish it was a little closer to downtown blowing rock, but that’s on me not the property owner, they were very transparent as to the 20minute or so drive to blowing rock. Again two very very minor gripes, not even issues. But the drive into/out of town has breathtaking views so really it was a net positive. Larry and Melinda reached out immediately with great details as to the stay, checkin/checkout was seamless. We will definitely stay here again in the future in our next stay in blowing rock. Thank you both for being so accommodating and making our dog Lily’s birthday so special! She had a blast.

The only thing we needed that kitchen did have was aluminum foil 😂 Everything else was great!

Beautiful country cottage in a remote setting yet only 15 minutes from Blowing Rock! The cottage was really clean and spacious. The upper deck allows you to enjoy the scenic views on the property. I’ll definitely rent this place again!

We all enjoyed our long weekend in this cozy cabin: quiet restful evenings after a full day of skiing, touring App State and hiking.

This home was nice and clean. The property was nice and well taken care of. I had no issues with communication with the property owners at all, and they seemed very nice. However, I feel compelled to share that it was not 15-20 min to our ski area (Appalachian Mountain) it was 30 minutes which was somewhat frustrating as we traveled here daily to and from. Also, the downstairs was not as warm as the rest of the house and the hot water did not work as well in the downstairs shower as everywhere else in the home. Beside these 2 concerns, the property was a great fit for what we needed.

Beautiful cabin, location, but this cabin need a Deep cleaning.. it has a very bad smell that need to be treated… the owner need to looking for another cleaning company…

This is a comfortable cabin at Blowing Rock! All three bedrooms (4 queen beds) have full bathrooms that are stocked with towels and tissue. Kitchen is small but open to den and has an array of dishes and utensils. Two levels of decking allow seasonal enjoyment though our trip was extremely cold due to severe weather. Hosts are exceptionally nice and met all our needs.

Steep but manageable driveway, very little yard as the area is steep, can’t really walk or hike from house or on road. Comfortable inside, gas fireplace works well. Really nice to have a bathroom with each bedroom. Kitchen small but has everything you need if cooking. Kitchen table tight, seats 4, deck outside has table which we did not use too cold, or TV trays in living room.

My family and I love this place! We have stayed two years in a row now and before we even left this time my husband said "Book it for next year". Great place for a family with older and younger kids and pets. Thank you for the relaxing getaway.

The scenery was beautiful! The house was very well equipped. The beds were very comfortable!

This cabin was extremely clean and well stocked with everything we needed for our stay. It was very remote and we had plenty of privacy. The grounds were very pretty and we had a nice view of the mountain forest from both decks. Our biggest concern was that this cabin was advertised as fitting 8 people. Technically, it does as there are beds for 8. However, half of those beds are located in the downstairs which is dark (no windows), smelly, poorly lit, and extremely cold. The cabin experience downstairs is nowhere near as nice as the main and upper level of the cabin. My daughter opted to sleep on the couch on the main level instead of sleep downstairs, and we really couldn't blame her. This cabin would have been great if we had a family of up to four people. However, our family of six felt very crowded. The internet was spotty and only emergency phone calls would have been able to go through due to the limited reception.

Secluded and quiet

Property is a definitely out in the country. Very private and quite, if that is what you are looking for. The A/C gave us problems and would not cool below 76 degrees, but we still enjoyed our stay. S

Overall, this was a good place. Was disappointed that the fireplace wasn't working. I would assume if you charged someone the $150 that is stated for misusing the fireplace, you would get it fixed. That is one thing we look for when we get a cabin. The weather was down in the teens without the wind chill. The heater had a hard time warming up the house. It was a little chilly inside. The fridge had a leak inside and the container collecting the linking water, took up most of the top shelf. When staying multiple days, and planning on cooking, it made it hard to put all the fridge items in. Luckily it was cold outside and we could place our drinks outside. Other then those couple of things, it wasn't a bad place to stay.

Our stay was everything and more than what we expected. The home was super clean with amazing views. The location was perfect.. close enough to restaurants, stores, etc. But far enough off the grid to really get the full mountain experience. Spent a whole day on the slopes at Sugar Mountain which was not far from the home. Definitely plan on coming back to this beautiful home.

Property was very clean, very cozy, beds were comfy, had plenty of room. It was alittle far out from the town and about 30 min to any ski mountain but other than that excellent place and really enjoyed our stay.

From the moment we arrived we knew we had made a great choice with this property. It was spacious with plenty of room for 5 adults and our dog. The 2 porches offered amazing views and great places to sip our morning coffee and enjoy cocktails in the evening. We loved that we were close to so many things to do and see! The Blake’s were wonderful throughout the whole process! Thank you Blake Family!!
