We really enjoyed our stay. Neighborhood is very quiet and such a great location. We loved being so close to the beach and having a pool at the house. Home was very clean and plenty of room. Would definitely stay here again!

This property and location were fantastic. Being able to bring our old dog was great! Didn't have to worry about boarding her, and we took her on morning and evening beach walks. Communication with hosts was great.

Property is exactly as described! Short walk to beach path/beach. Very few people on this section of beach. Quiet neighborhood. The house was the perfect size for 4 adults, 2 kids and 2 dogs! Already booked for next year!

Our 4th time at this house
The title says it all. We have been to HH 4 times since 2012 and have stayed here all 4 times. This was the first time without a dog but I can attest to this being a wonderful home with or without a pet.
There are several updated features since our last visit. I’ll admit, I was a little nervous after reading a few more recent reviews, but I honestly did not find any of their complaints to be valid. The beach chairs were in great shape and the kitchen cabinets are totally fine. I don’t expect the owner to supply my cooking ingredients and the cookware was perfect for our needs. Like most VRBO homes, you should bring/buy laundry and dish detergent and extra toilet paper because there is not daily or mid-week cleaning services. Someone commented on the poisonous snake sign on the beach path. We have never even seen a snake and a poisonous snake can only kill you if you eat it- so don’t. (They meant venomous.) The path is only a block away and is gorgeous. We felt safe going at night, too. The furniture is comfortable and enough for a family. My husband brought his pillow but used the one at the house! The bedding is very comfortable.
We had an AC emergency and Maggie had someone out that day to fix it. She is very responsive.
The location is about 7 miles from Coligny, but such an easy drive. I prefer being away from the crowds and the Folly Field private gate access area is deserted compared to looking up and down the beach. We can play bocce or paddle ball mid-day and not intrude on anyone. Perfect beach location.
I can’t say enough positive things about this home. We weren’t going to HH because the house was booked and then a week opened. I jumped on it. I can’t imagine staying anywhere else.

The location was terrific since it was 2 blocks from the beach which was the main reason we stayed there. The house needs some renovation in the kitchen especially the cabinets and some supplies for cooking. The rugs are old. The pool area is nice because property is fenced but pool needs renovation. The pool person should service it when clients arent there because we had to leave for him to do the cleaning. Last the locks to front and patio door were hard to open. The owners are very nice and responded immediately when we had to contact them.

The bedrooms are big enough and the kitchen is open and inviting for conversation and eating. Overall, the house is totally cozy and comfortable for, I’d say, a family of five, maybe six.
Be aware, the beach accessories are at the time of this review dated (rusty and a bit broken) but functional. The living room and dining room furniture is also starting to show its age. If you’re planning on cooking, though the house is finely appointed with cookware, be sure to bring or buy all of your cooking essentials— seasoning, oil, condiments, aluminum foil, etc. The owners were kind enough, though, to provide the necessities for the grill, which was great.
Overall, I’d happily stay here again!

The house had the perfect layout and location (just a 3 minute walk to the beach), and it was both nicely decorated and well-equipped. The backyard pool area was so ideal for privacy - the landscaping made it feel like any neighbors were far away, and everything you would want in a pool area was available: pool floats, table with chairs for outside dinners, charcoal grill, lounge chairs, a screened in porch area. The house came with a beach cart, beach chairs, umbrellas and boogie boards, so we used the cart everyday for our morning beach visits, and we had everything we needed. There was a private beach access path that was literally around the corner form the house, and the beach area was not crowded and very family friendly (exactly what we we wanted). Because of the COVID-19 crisis, we stayed home each evening and cooked from home, played in the pool, enjoyed time as a family. This house was ideal and I know we will be back. Maggie, the owner, was very helpful with any questions that I had - thanks again.

Pet friendly bungalow
The property was nice, but could use a bit of refurbishment. It’s one of the few pet friendly options in HH, and for that we are grateful. The issues we had (TV and AC) were tended to quickly. Proximity to the beach was good.

Great Property and really nice location.
We have stayed here several times and love the place! Got run out early because of the hurricane, but loved our time there. Would highly recommend this rental and we plan on coming down again. Jeff and Vicky

Great location right by private beach!
We really enjoyed staying here! It was a peaceful place with a nice pool, patio and close walk to the beach. The house was clean. We also loved having our dogs at the house.

Perfect beach getaway
20 Moonshell was exactly what we were looking for- a beach getaway with a glorious pool right around the corner from Folly Field private beach. The home was clean, well equipped and comfortable. Thanks Maggie!

“Our” Beachhouse
This is the eighth year we have rented this house. It is the perfect size and location for my family. The yard is partially shady which gives relief from the heat. The fenced in backyard is a plus for our four leggers. Maggie is wonderful to work with and always communicates in a timely manner. I can’t wait until our 9th year.

Nice beach stay
Lots of room in this near the beach home. We had a TV in the master bedroom that didn't work and owners came immediately to replace! Only 2 minute walk to beach. Good location for stores and restaurants. Only thing I'd change with this property is updating furniture, it's a little dated but not bad.

Beach house
Location is wonderful!! Close to the beach/ ocean! Home shows definitely more wear than the pictures show. We had light bulbs out but Maggie had them replaced right away. Don't expect a gas grill. We stayed a month and enjoyed our time.

Convenient to beach, good space inside and out. Dog friendly
Pictures are deceiving. Place has aged. Stove in disrepair as is refrigerator. Many light bulbs were out and no extra bulbs in the house. 2 full baths very nice. Could have easily shared with another couple. 4 available beach towels was a nice thing, cart for beach items also helpful. It is seeing a good deal of wear as well. Pool was lovely. No one came to check the pool during the week so we were unsure of the chemical levels. The previous renters had large dogs that pooped all over the backyard and we had to call Maggie to get all the mess cleaned up. She came and took care of that quickly. We left 4 martini glasses and a string of white lights for the deck umbrella as gifts for the house.

We loved staying in a private home in HH! The accommodations were perfect for our family and our sweet dogs! The short walk to the beach was lovely and having our own pool was wonderful! Thank you Maggie! We would definitly rent again and recommend this classic beach house !

Wonderful Spring Break
We had a fantastic time enjoying the private pool and being able to bring our pets. There was plenty of room to spread out and relax and it was close to the beach. Had a wonderful time during our stay.
My family had a wonderful stay at this beach house! The property was well maintained and we were more than comfortable here. We all enjoyed the short stroll to the beach and had a great time there a number of mornings. The swimming pool at the beach house and the screened in area were enjoyable to use in the late afternoon and evenings. Our dogs were easy to care for at the house and exercise in the neighborhood. All in all I would not hesitate recommending this house to anyone with pets considering renting in this area.

This property was wonderful. We had a very relaxing week. The dog loved the yard and we enjoyed being able to put her out and not worry. The house is beautiful, well appointed, and the unexpected supplies were great. It was an easy walk to the beach. The only reason I did not give this property an excellent was the pool. It is a lovely pool but the water was too chilly and we had to clean the leaves out when the grandchildren wanted to get in to swim. Older children might have been fine with the chilly water but the boys are young and just shivered. I would return here and recommend it!!

Great Spot on Hilton Head
Our family had a great time during Easter break, the house and yard were perfect for our two boys and our young lab. Pool is nice between bike rides or the short walk to beach. The house is set up nice especially the ground level covered porch areas which are great for bikes and beach gear. Bedrooms, kitchen area and bathrooms all were clean ready to go and situated perfectly for vacation. Thanks Maggie!
