Great Property
Had a great time with family at this house. House had great views of the Indian River. Great time kayaking on the river and riding bikes courtesy of Bill the owner. Great little vegetable stand at corner so we were able to have fresh fruits and veggies. Sebastian is a quant town and very laid back. We would like to visit again!

BILL, THE OWNER WAS GREAT. He is fastidious about the upkeep of the grounds, very helpful with ideas and suggestions. While we spent lots of time at the beach, in town and at the restaurants in town, Old Palm was a great place to relax, Kayak, fish and just enjoy the surroundings.

Great spot
Very clean, nice owners, great spot, surprisingly quiet. Sebastion's not a hotbed of activity, but short hop to Vero beach or Melborne for some variety.

Legitimate to describe as a paradise. Great and interesting view from very large property right on the water. Shore birds constant. Regular dolphin visits. Good kayaking including to nearby islands. House is fully furnished and very comfortable with Direct TV and good internet. Some limits on bandwidth for simultaneous work use by more than one person. Very big screened in deck a real treat, including for barbequing . This is the primary home of the owner Bill who stays in a nearby second house and is very responsive. Excellent farm stand a short walk away (Kroegel Produce).

The long driveway, with wild orchids growing in the Palm trees, gives a sense of seclusion.
The property was accurately described. I arrived at the end of an 800 mile drive that day and Bill was extremely flexible with check-in and was there to greet me - I simply texted him when I was 30 mins out. Very friendly and helpful.
Tranquil. The weather was a bit cooler and breezier, so I didn't spend as much time sitting outside on the covered porch as I'd hoped, but everything was ready when I did.
Internet was serviceable but slower than I'm used to - Bill did ask if it was ok - I found 2-3mbps on average.
One other thing - if you are a light sleeper, the train line runs just to the west of Rte 1 - but that's going to be the same for any place in town.
Overall, a terrific stay, great host. Only regret is that my wife was taken ill just before our trip, so couldn't join me.

This place is truly paradise!
We came from Ohio and stayed at Old Palm for a week, and words really can’t describe how beautiful it is! Bill obviously takes great pride in maintaining the property - everything was spotless, house is beautifully decorated and well stocked with everything anyone would need, and the grounds are just stunning with all the trees and flowers. The view from the house is really indescribable. We got up early to watch sunrise each morning from the screened in porch and often saw dolphins right in front of the house. We also set up chairs in the backyard and had an AMAZING view of a rocket launch at night! We used the two provided kayaks to explore the river and all the islands, which was great fun for our kids (even our picky teenager enjoyed it). We walked to the farmers market around the corner and also into town to get ice cream and take the kids to the playground. Just a 10 minute drive away there is a great citrus farm where we got fresh orange juice, the most delicious oranges and also picked strawberries. Old Palm really is the perfect getaway for any age group and the pictures simply can’t capture how magical and serene the place is. We have traveled all over the country, including many times to other parts of Florida, and this just took top place for our favorite. Thank you Bill for sharing your beautiful home with us!

Wonderful location and house. A few issues with maintenance, but not enough to worry about.
The owner is a nice, friendly fellow. It's a good vacation rental.

We were very impressed with the property and it's location. The photos did not do it justice. Very spacious and awesome location. The house had a AWESOME deck and great views. The house had all the amenities it promised and more. We felt right at home. Two ocean kayaks were on property for personal use. Overall excellent stay. Owner was great to deal with and very pleasant.

Old Palm is perfect
Absolutely loved our stay at Old Palm! The house couldn't be more perfect...beautifully decorated with loads of thoughtful touches, right down to a bird book and binoculars located conveniently to the back porch. The property is located right on Route 1, but is a good distance off the road. The winding driveway takes you through a grove of gorgeous old palm trees, and once you get to the house, you have no indication that you're on a reasonably major thoroughfare. The sunrise river views are spectacular, and can be enjoyed from either the upstairs screened-in porch or the huge outdoor sitting area on the ground level (or the large master suite, which also has a river view). To top it all off, the owner of the property is the nicest guy ever, and made us feel completely welcome and at home (including our puppy!). I would highly recommend Old Palm to anyone looking for a secluded waterfront getaway, and can't wait to go back.

property was wonderful, particularly the screened porch and master suite
We loved the property and thoroughly enjoyed Sebastian, the nearby park and restaurants and the fruit /vegie stand at the corner.
It would have been nice to be able to rent movies - for that big screen tv- but otherwise, no negative comments at all. Bill was terrific with ideas, and property upkeep and our very special Peacock visiter was amazing. Icing on the cake

It was wonderful. Great view and the balcony was a fantastic place for meals and hanging out.
Old Palm was very well stocked with everything you could possibly need in the kitchen and bathrooms. Decor and furnishings were fantastic. William was a very attentive host, couldn’t ask for better. We highly highly recommend this place.

Lovely water view, gardens and comfortable home
The property has a long driveway with lush Florida vegetation on each side. We felt like we were entering a botanical garden, isolated from the Route one corridor. We have a tall and long 20' travel van and we were able to navigate under the leaning palms trunks and were able to make a complete turn at the ending circular driveway with a bit of backing up and repositioning the vehicle. Mr. Clark greeted us at the home (he stays in a small cottage on the property) and gave us a quick tour pointing out the amenities. He was available by text or call if any questions arose. The home is spacious and tastefully decorated. We stayed a week, but due to the weather we were not able to go out on the water with the kayak or use the porch. There is a large TV in the living room with a large sectional. My husband spent much of his time there, thoroughly enjoying the Dish TV programs and commented multiple times how nice it was. The kitchen was well appointed, but we did not cook other than to prepare breakfast or light lunch. There is a produce stand within walking distance and a sidewalk along South Indian River Road for strolls. The beds and linens were comfortable for sleeping and there are many different seating areas for families or more than one couple to use. Each day we saw sea birds, passing boats and one day a dolphin. On the last day a beautiful peacock appeared on the front porch. We were very grateful that Mr. Clark allowed our pet to be with us too. It is difficult to find well maintained and comfortable properties that do so. Overall we throughly enjoyed our visit, the area and hope to return again.

A lovely, comfortable home on the water. Wonderful host too.
This beautiful older home is very clean and elegantly decorated. My favorite part is the very large screen porch overlooking a small inlet where dolphins frequent. Also the large grass area in front of the house was great. The entire yard is large and private. The kitchen is well-stocked and the beds are comfortable. Bill, the host, made us feel very welcome. We will stay here again next year I hope! We highly recommend.

Wonderful property!!!
Our family loved your house along the river. Spectacular view and plenty of space. It was perfect with a fully equipped kitchen and very private. Loved watching the fireworks exploding over the river on New Years Eve. The kids took out the kayaks and had fun on the river. Everyone wanted to stay longer. Thank you.

Perfection with managed excellence
Words and photographs could not represent the experience you can only imagine at a vacation spot like this. Some of us went fishing while others stayed back to enjoy the nature channel in your back yard. We drove to the inlet and caught a 30” black drum, sheepshead, blues, mackerel, and pompano. I was expecting only pompano and flounder given the season. The blues and mackerel go for any kind of flashy lure. For drum you want to start with a 3-hook pompano rig with clams, live and frozen shrimp. Whatever they go for, that’s what you continue with. Sheepshead love live sand fleas - always. For drum they chose frozen shrimp. Add a tiny cut of EZ shrimp Fish Bites on the same hook; this also helps keep the frozen shrimp on the hook. We also fished in the back yard. Yesterday I caught a snook at 3 pm with a blue flash minnow. A smaller one I caught at 4:45 pm. For mackerel and blues I used a Gotcha lure. Silver body with yellow head. If the tackle shops have them with a white tail, get those. If u don’t get a bite, it’s not the lure. These lures are usually sold out. Reel between medium and fast. One day we tried kayaking (for the first time) and found it traveks pretty fast. I was surprised at how little effort it took to cruise around. I don’t like paddling, but a kayak is so easy.
Some of the family who hung out on the porch just remained staring at the view. Dolphins, birds, turtles, sailboats, and nature were both beautiful and entertaining.
Lastly, Bill was fabulous. All the good things other reviewers said are right on. We also appreciated having privacy on the property, while at the same time Bill came when we needed him.

A Piece of Paradise
Bill’s home is well maintained and very comfortable; he makes sure you have everything you need for the stay. He’s also very accessible for questions or help should you need it. We spent most of our time on the screened porch - morning coffee, evening sunsets... any excuse to soak in the gorgeous view!

Finding Peace In An Oak Hammock on the Indian River Lagoon
Turning off busy US-1 we were immediately transported to another time and place. We had driven only 90 miles from busy Palm Beach County yet we felt a lifetime away as we drove under the pristine ancient oak canopy dripping with Spanish moss, the blue sky peeking through the branches and afternoon sunlight dappling the green lawns along the long dirt drive. Soon the canopy opened to reveal the lovely home and blue waters of the lagoon beyond.
I felt a little silly booking a home so close to our own, but we were looking for a change of scene, a getaway from the day to day. And we found it. Bill, the owner, left no stone unturned to make us feel welcome in his beautifully appointed home. We have rented many homes since 2009 and this is the first time we packed nothing but clothing and our dog, Sophie. We felt more like guests in the home of a friend who had simply gone away for a week leaving us to relax and enjoy.
We left the curtains open at night so the sun rising over the lagoon would greet us every morning. Each day was different and not surprisingly, the last was the best. I may have more photos of sunrises than anything else, but even the sunsets afforded magnificent pink skies that were breathtaking. For me, the sunrises and the glorious porch were worth the trip, but there was so much more.
Every night we drove just minutes north along the Indian River visiting local restaurants on the water and we loved every one. The people everywhere we went were so friendly ... I'm not sure we've ever experienced such a warm welcome anywhere.
We are an "older" couple and this was a week of relaxation away from the day to day "noise" that accompanies even retired lives. This break afforded us deep breaths and restful relaxation. It was everything we hoped it would be and more. We thank Bill for sharing his beautiful home and already look forward to returning next year.

It is a Slice of Heaven!
Bill, the owner, shared in an e-mail that he was sure we would enjoy his "slice of heaven" and we truly did. There are really no words to describe how beautiful, comfortable, and amazing Old Palm is. We were in awe just driving down the driveway to the house as it has such a great Old Florida feel to it with the lush plants and trees. We immediately felt at home in this beautiful house. It is in a very relaxing environment that is quiet and private. The five of us made many special memories there. The view of the water from the huge porch is breathtaking and we spent a great deal of time out there. This view is also visible from many rooms in the house as there are sliding glass doors in each room facing the river and big windows in the kitchen area. We saw some incredible sunrises while sitting out on the porch each morning sipping coffee and tea. What a great way to start the day. We were all excited when we saw a male peacock sitting on the front railing one morning. He stayed there for about an hour. How awesome! We took advantage of the kayaks that were provided and went out to several of the islands. We took a trip to Brevard Zoo. saw a launch, visited a couple beaches, and found some neat restaurants. We were always happy to return from our excursions and enjoy this "slice of heaven." Thanks for sharing it with us, Bill. We hope to return in the future.

A beautiful, unique, and well kept home in the perfect location to enjoy Sebastian Inlet.
We had a wonderful time going across the river to the little islands, taking the short drive to the public beach, and just hanging out with the peacocks that visited from the surrounding woods. The homeowner was so welcoming and easy to work with, always encouraging us to make ourselves at home. With a large family full of growing teenagers, we really enjoyed the large yard, porch and spacious house where we could spread out. My sons enjoyed fishing right in front of the house, especially when a manatee popped up right next to them! Dolphins, mullet, pelicans, snook, flounder, and many more... we loved our time here!
