Great location, quiet, lazy vacation!

We loved the beach front location and the general area, especially Murrell's Inlet. We rented for a month and had different groups of kids/grandkids in for a week at a time. If you are planning to be out and about most days and not intending to cook very many meals, this is an affordable option. We had intended to cook for most meals; however, the kitchen was not well-equipped, and everything looked like it came from a $ store. The unit itself was very outdated and the furniture is not comfortable. The beds and linens were very good. We did not have much communication with the owner - no welcome call or text. We did have a repair issue and it was dealt with quickly.

Our stay at Kens place was fantastic. It was clean, we had plenty of towels and Ken was super responsive to our questions and requests when we had them. I needed an extra parking pass and he actually hand delivered it to me! I brought my elderly parents to the beach with me and this worked great for them. This condo property has an elevator and a walk in shower in the master. They were able to move around easily with their walking devices. It worked well for them. There are plenty of dishes, glasses, pots and silverware! Don’t let the parking comments deter you. Yes it’s an older complex and there is only one space per condo unit but the over flow parking is only a few steps away just around the corner. The extra lot is well maintained and well lit so no worries there. We felt perfectly ok leaving the extra vehicles in the lot. The extra area in the front where the washer and dryer are were perfect to drop your beach chairs and shoes as you come in. If I had to make any suggestions it would only be for more smaller trash cans in each room and some kind of luggage carrier to be available. I’m sure things disappear all the time in rentals but it would have been nice to have these little extras. But it would not deter us at all from staying again. Next time we will bring one of those beach wagons to load and unload with as the neighbors thought to do! Now we know! Overall you will not be disappointed. Thanks Ken for sharing your place!

The description was everything it said it would be. Place was clean, plenty of towels. Loved the entry way with washer/dryer that we could drop out shoes & chairs and not drag sand in. Location on the beach was great! We would defiantly stay here again.

My family of 9 enjoyed our stay. It was great to get up every day and sit in the living room or patio and watch the ocean. The condo was a perfect size for our family. The teenage grandsons enjoyed the loft as it gave them time to themselves. The kitchen had everything you need to cook meals. I really liked the entrance into the condo. You could leave beach chairs and other things so sand didn’t get on the floors when you entered the condo. Thanks Ken for sharing your condo with us!

We loved the condo. Having an upstairs area allowed us to spread out and not be on top of each other while there. Walking distance to the Garden City Pier was a bonus. Condo was clean and upgraded. Kitchen had everything we needed. We will definitely be staying here again.

We had an absolutely wonderful time! This condo was great for us. The loft really is a great place for kids/teens. There is so much space for everyone to spread out and two decks to insure everyone has a great view. The kitchen is nicely stocked, there were plenty of towels, and the little library was cool. I would stay again in a heartbeat. Thanks Ken for a wonderful week.

Definition need to rid the place of the cockroaches....left a pizza on counter for 10 minutes while eating at table....two crawled onto pizza...saw a couple in hallway as well

I've opted to send a personal letter to the owner with information I hope will be taken as constructive. Some things he can control but others maybe not. I will say that you need to ask questions about the parking situation. I did not find out about it prior to booking and too late to make other arrangements.

The location of this property was perfect. A quick walk to the pier and restaurants. The balconies felt like they were on the beach. At night, we could hear the bands (they were not obnoxiously loud--just loud enough for atmosphere) playing on the pier. The beach was wide enough even at high tide for us to enjoy sitting down there.
It was clean and had plenty of space for the nine people we had (four adults and five teens).
The front room was great for keeping all of the beach stuff. It was closed off from the rest of the condo, so our sandy mess could be contained. The kitchen was well stocked and we had extra keys which we were able to give to our older kids. The pool was decent size and never crowded.
The owner was very responsive and answered my questions quickly.
We would definitely stay here again!

Overall it was a great condo! VRBO website stated it held 12 ppl but once we talked with the owner it only held 10...we used an air mattress and made it work! Condo was clean! Pool was nice...for as many condos that used the pool we felt like we had our own pool for the week! Beach wasn't busy either with having 2 public accesses close by! Only downfall would be not a lot of parking...we had 3 vehicles and the overflow lot was down the street around the corner...not too far though. Overflow lot was hard to get into/out of. Would rent again!!

Captain's Walk III was everything I hoped it would be! It was clean, bathrooms and kitchen were updated and just a short walk to Garden City Pier. The only disappointment was the pool was closed for three days while we were there for repair/improvements. My family and I would definitely stay there again!

My husband and I rented Ken's place for a family vacation with our adult daughters, son-in-law, and three grandchildren, ages 1,4,and 5. We had the time of our lives together. The pool and beach were awesome. Not crowded and no crazy spring breakers to tolerate. Great location within walking distance to the Garden City Pier, restaurants, and ice cream parlor. The unit met our needs with a nice kitchen, comfortable beds, adequate towels and even a washer and dryer. Hope to repeat this vacation!

Our overall experience was great we were there August 13th Thru the 20th and we couldn't have asked for better accommodations. The top floor has two twin beds which is perfect for adults or children that want to have their own time. We took the linen package every bed was clean, there were plenty of towels. This is our second year renting captains walk III and we wouldn't hesitate! The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need from bowls to coffee maker to a really good dishwasher!! Conveniently located within walking distance to the pier. For the amount of people we had we always had hot water!!! Thank you again for making our family vacation one to remember! And did I mention with two balconies it's perfect for And did I mention with two balconies it's perfect for everybody!

Six adults and 4 children under 12 fit very comfortably in this 4 BR condo. With the exception of some TV problems, our stay was very nice. One problem with plumbing was taken care of right away. The entrance/laundry area is ideal for beach chairs and toys. The kitchen is small, but who wants to do a lot of cooking on vacation? We loved the proximity to the pool and beach! The pier is also a short walk away. The bathrooms do lack storage/towel bars. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would return to this condo.

My sister and our families have met in this area for the past 4 years. The first year we rented a house on Surfside Beach and the last 3 have been 2 houses on Garden City Beach and then this year we tried a condo on the beach. First, I must say we prefer the Garden City Beach area because of all the family type things to do at and near the pier; ice cream shop, diner, convenience store, souvenier shops, game room on the pier, bar & restaurant. The people are very friendly also.
The condo was perfect for us, we had 2 adults and 2 kids so we had a bedroom we didn't use. Let me just say the pictures do not do this unit justice. Let me try and give you an idea of the layout as there aren't any pictures of the bedrooms. Through the main door to the unit you step into a 10x10 (approx) foyer area that houses the washer and dryer in a closet.This was the perfect catch all place for all things beachy (sand!!). There is another door to the actual living area. Directly across from this entry is the Queen bedroom with the half bath. Good size, great half bath. To the left and down the hall is the Kitchen, Dining area and Living area (pictured). Not overly huge but it is a condo and was plenty big for us. The living area opens to the balcony which was good size and private as it is on the corner. Another set of sliders on the left side of the balcony lead to the Master Bedroom which is also a good size with a very nice Master Bath. Across from the Kitchen and Dining area is the Hall Bath (also a good size and nice) and another bedroom. This bedroom actually has 2 Queen beds. One of the nice surprises was the upstairs Loft area. Perfect area for my 13 year old daughter and her friend as it has 2 single beds and its own private balcony. The pool was pretty nice also
My sister and I decided we liked the condo very much and would absolutely rent this unit again. The owner was very nice and easy to work with, answering all of my questions. Pricing was reasonable and would definitely recommend.
