We had a wonderful stay! The location is perfect and the views cannot be beat. The house and yard were ideal for family fun. The host was responsive and equipped us with all the information we needed for a wonderful visit.

While I provided feedback directly to the property host, I felt that it’s important to share my experience with any potential renters as I was misled by previous reviews on this site. Also, pls note that you are likely to be asked for more details about yourself before the booking is confirmed— I was surprised by this unique experience to call VRBO to ask whether this was normal. 1. While the location is excellent just across from the lake, the highway is in between so traffic is constant & noisy especially from the deck. 2. The house is in urgent need of repair and update. The kitchen is old & cluttered with rusty utensils, cutlery, and no clear demarcation between what’s for use by the renters vs the owner. The cooking range extractor was broken which meant we were forced to open the windows, which clearly have not been opened in a very long time and needed a thorough clean. Should mention here that it was the weekend that was freakishly cold, and opening windows would not have been the obvious choice. 3. If you are allergic to pet hairs, you will want to avoid staying here. While I had shared this important need in advance, the cleaning paid no attention to that requirement, and sofas & chairs were just full of pet hair, as were any spots that could collect hair. Last, but not the least, the experience of being provided with no soap anywhere in the house was just shocking — my first at any form of rental accommodation. Imagine having to rush out to a store - after a 6 hour drive with children.

This is a beautiful property in a great location. The yard looking out onto the lake is what sold us on the house and it is even better in person. We spent a relaxing week at the home and we’re more than happy with the entire stay. Carrie was wonderful and helpful!

Our family (6 adults) thoroughly enjoyed staying here. The patio, with a fantastic view of the lake, was great for morning coffee, meals, or playing cards at night. There is also a great bar/game room upstairs. Bathrooms were very modern. We had never been to the Tahoe area and the location was perfect for taking off and exploring in all directions. The highway, between the lake and the house, could get a bit noisy at times. We would definitely stay again!!

This was a special place to stay with our family for a long weekend and a place we hope to come back to! We were two sets of adults and a total of 4 kids. We appreciated all the following: the well appointed separate bedrooms for adults; the fact that kids could all bunk together; the cozy and homey touches and tastefully crafted furnishings around the home; the well-designed kitchen and eating space; the lake views; the proximity to Homewood for some skiing by day; the stack of wood for cozy fires by eve; the game room; and how responsive the hosts were! We also appreciated the fact that we had the option to bring our dog along! Led to a bonding weekend and lots of great memories. Thank you!

We love this property! We stayed in March and knew right away we wanted to come back. The communication is amazing. The house is so beautiful, spacious, and feels like such a comfortable home always. We spent all week and would love to come back!

Nice stay at a nice home with a great view. It was also nice to be able to bring our dogs with us. Beds are comfortable, kitchen well-stocked. Plenty of extras, including chairs, paddle boards provided. Lovely! Would stay again.

We had a great stay at McKinney shores. The home was clean, well stocked, and in a great location right in front of the lake. The deck and yard were great to spend time outside, and great for our dog. This is a great choice for anyone looking for a relaxing vacation spot in West Lake!

We had a great time in this Lake Tahoe home. The views of the lake are great. It’s close to many hiking and skiing resorts. The game room is lots of fun.

Absolutely LOVED our stay. View is amazing. Place is so beautiful. Really no reason to even leave. View is perfect. We sat around and drank wine and just embraced the view. House is stocked great! Feels super cozy. Yard was great for our pup too! Super easy drive to squaw and Alpine. We will come back for sure! Is it for sale?! hahaha

The house was spacious and well stocked-- great deck and fenced lawn for kids. Excellent waterfront location, with access to HOA beach and small rocky beach across street. Also close to endless hiking and biking trails. Mike and Carie were SUPER responsive to questions during the stay.

This home was exactly what we were looking for and accommodated the 6 adults as well as our 2 grandchildren perfectly. Nice deck over looking the lake makes for a wonderful place to eat you meals, have a cocktail, or just sit and marvel at the beauty of Lake Tahoe. Well furnished with a great game room on the second floor equipped with a nice pool table to sharpen your skills.
