We had a fabulous stay for a week! Everything was perfect from weather to the location. Loved the beach and boating area too. Only suggestion is to fix the BBQ grill as the inside drip plate does not stay in place and when it falls it's too hot to mess with and grease drips to the inside of grill.

The cabin was comfortable, nicely furnished, and had most of what we needed. Woodstove was nice. Once in, we were pretty happy. Getting in was a nightmare.
Email to us said our cabin was "ready for our arrival." Not true at all! The road had been plowed earlier, and there was a 2' wall of snow blocking the driveway. There was zero access to the front door due to the tremendous amount of snow that had not been cleared this season. We were not informed that there would be no access via the front door. Our only access was through the side door of the garage, which was also blocked by 2' of snow. We were glad we had a snow shovel in the car so we could clear the snow to get off of the street and onto the driveway and then get to the side door. Once to the side door, we retrieved the key from the lock box and unlocked the side door but could it was frozen shut. Luckily, we had a crowbar in the car, which we used to remove about 4" of ice built up under and around the side door, freezing it shut. After driving 12 hours, we didn't appreciate spending over an hour trying to get inside.
The microwave fan doesn't work
There were only two washcloths for four people

A full length mirror would be nice
Huge buildup of snow on roof made use of jacuzzi dangerous
Leaving, we found the lockbox frozen shut from water dripping from the roof. We had to go back inside and get warm water to thaw the lockbox. Cover the lockbox!

House was in excellent condition upon arrival. Very clean and organized. Close proximity to Palisades Tahoe, ~15-20 min drive. Close to downtown Tahoe City, ~5 min drive. Not close to waterfront, in my opinion. Probably a solid mile from the water with a straight uphill walk. There is a HOA lake front that you can drive to. The only negatives with this house were their entertainment features. The TV and entertainment are very old. These seem like very reasonable upgrades given the return on investment and decreased footprint with newer devices.

the good things :
The house was clean, easy to find, comfetable for 6, easy to reach office for lock problems..
the not so good:
No flexabilty about arrival, nothing basic in the house - like oil, salt , pepper and other spices, coffee, wahing detegant, softner, washing up liquid - nothing.
Not ON the lake (30 min long walk and back is uphill the whole way).

Great home with good views and location
We had a great family vacation at Silver Tip! Nice updated home with a great deck, jacuzzi and lake view through some trees. The kitchen was well stocked with plates, glasses, pots and pans. We would have liked a bit more cleaning agents for countertops and toilets to keep our space clean while we were there. Not enough provided. Plenty of towels and linens. Tahoe Getaways was very responsive when we had an issue with the dryer and had someone come out right away to address the problem. The place was spacious and plenty big for 6 adults. We enjoyed the lake views while dining outside on the deck. The pictures of this place are very accurate. Great stay overall!

Fabulous Stay
We really enjoyed our stay at the Silver Tip Cabin. The cabin was newly renovated and even nicer than the pictures. Great location and amenities. Thank you for sharing your cabin with us. We would definitely recommend this property.

Comfortable stay, wish there were more amenities
This was a very comfortable and enjoyable stay with a modern kitchen, very comfortable beds and a perfect location for our small family. We had no issues during our stay and everything worked perfectly. However, when we arrived at 4pm the house was freezing and notes on the countertop told us that the heater would take a while to warm up the house. It took us about 5 hours to get to a comfortable temperature, and it stayed nice and warm throughout the weekend. I just wish that they turned on the heat in advance of our stay, considering that we got a text that the house was ready 2 hours before. There was also a lack of amenities in the kitchen, simple things like cooking oil. Other houses we have stayed at have not been as beautifully remodeled, but were cozier because of all the amenities like kid's toys, everything you could need to cook, etc etc. All in all though, it was a nice stay and I would definitely return.

I stayed in this house for about a week and each day was better than the last. The house is a great size and has three bedrooms. The star of the house is the outdoor porch. We were able to soak up the sun and enjoy sitting outside! What a wonderful house.

The property mgmt folks were very nice and communicated well. Be aware of their warning on lock out! This house has the same locks I used to have on a home of mine where you can open the locked door from inside but that DOES NOT unlock the door! So if you step outside and close the door behind you, you are locked out. I don't understand why they don't change the hardware to avoid this. It doesn't cost a lot and is very simple to do and would avoid any lock outs of their guests of which they charge you $50 for them to come out and let you back in. This did not happen to us because I was knowledgeable of these locks. We hid the key in the garage and kept the door to the outside unlocked during our stay. Overall the home was acceptable but not the nicest home we have stayed in. The Jacuzzi water was disgusting! We were disappointed about that because we specifically looked for a rental with a jacuzzi to use after skiing all day. Huge disappointment!! Since it was just my husband and myself we didn't use the downstairs rooms and boy was that a good thing! One of the rooms has a very bad smell to it! Like a teenage boy lived in there and just hibernated and never came out! I don't think anyone would be able to sleep in there very well. Another issue we had but is not related to the house directly is the snow removal push some snow up against the garage doors and the door going outside and we were having some rain and snow so it was really wet snow which froze overnight. When I tried to go out in the morning to take the dogs out I could not get out! All exits were froze shut! There was no escaping out the front door either since the snow was deep and wet and not cleared. With a little elbow grease and brute strength I was able to finally get the door to open! Overall Silver Tip is just a so-so rental, it served it's purpose but we will not return in the future. Not worth the price especially when the Jacuzzi is not usable.

We were a family of five visiting from the East Coast for a ski vacation. The location of the house was great - close to Tahoe City for shopping and restaurants. The house accommodated us well. My only real criticism is that some of the appliances are dated - the stove didn't heat up food well (frozen pizza was soggy even after being in oven for an hour). It snowed when we were there and the snow clearing service was excellent. The wood burning stove was a real bonus and heated the living space well. We enjoyed the hot tub on the deck immensely! Overall it was a fantastic experience.

For the price, this rental is right. It is basic, and a bit dated, but comfortably fit 3 adults and 1 child (can accomodate more). Perfect for a convenient rental near Squaw Valley. We cooked a couple of nights and everything was in working order. Clean, internet worked, and great added bonus of a washer/dryer.... would definitely consider renting again!

We loved the Silver Tip house itself. Very comfortable for my family of 6 adults and 1 child. And the wood stove kept us warm and cozy. However, we had to dig out all the snow on the hot tub, it was only partially uncovered. Also had to dig out the garbage bear box. The free internet did not work. And couldn't get the washing machine to turn on when leaving. Good thing we brought enough clothes! Getting there was a horrible experience after the recent snow storm! After sitting in traffic for 2 hrs from an accident on Hwy 89, we got stuck (along with many other cars) on Big Pine Rd only 1/2 mile from the house! Only a 4WD could make it up the road without stopping! Luckily one of our son's has one. THEN the lockbox was frozen shut! So, if this house was more accessible in winter we would definitely rent it again... or if we get a 4WD!
