Out of love for our VERY gracious hosts/owners of The Angel Cottage, in Mount Shasta, CA, do we share this review. Have you ever stayed in a location so special, so sacred, that you don't want to share the details with anyone? The human nature in me did not want to write this review, but the better Angel in me knows I must share this blessed location with others. EVERYTHING about The Angel Cottage is sheer magic! From the accommodation itself, to the stunning view from your private deck of Moon Mountain, plus the positive energy that recharges one's self totally. This stay is one of the best of our lives! Our hosts, Fred and Mary, were most gracious AND grace filled. We ADORE them and are so thankful they share their property with guests who wish to connect with something much larger than themselves; Mount Shasta! We will be back to The Angel Cottage, the sooner the better. Fred and Mary, we hold you and your soul swooning location in radical gratitude. As Blake says: "gratitude is heaven itself." Overall I had a wonderful time at the angel cottage. The location was beautiful with a view of Mt. Shasta on your private deck. The outdoor Sauna was just a few steps away. It was easy to operate. The space itself was very comfortable and cozy. I did have trouble with getting the warm water to work in the shower. I tried texting, calling and messaging the host but I wasn’t able to get a reply from them in time. I wasn’t able to take a shower and that’s what I was looking forward to the most especially since I came from a long drive from Los Angeles. This was on July 4th so maybe they were out doing Things around town. I did get a phone call back from the host but missed it, at that time I was already checked out and on the road heading to Oregon. Despite the cold shower, I would stay here again!

Perfect place for a long ski weekend. The cottage: Size and amenities was just right. We enjoyed our stay and hope to return in the future. The view is amazing. The location is quiet. A great place to recharge.

I loved my stay at the little cottage at Mount Shasta. Everything you could possibly need was there. The host were wonderful. I got a massage. Mary and Fred were very kind to make sure I had everything I needed. There was even extra little touches of things and the view was just beautiful. Thank you so much, Fred and Mary

The cottage was very comfortable and the weather was perfect. Our amazing view of Mt. Shasta from the deck varied every day, but was always gorgeous. We wished there were screens on some of the French doors, since the weather was beautiful and the cottage would get too warm in the afternoon and evening. We did use the fresh air fan on the air conditioner, which was okay.
Our hosts were very nice and very responsive to our questions and requests.
Some people have written that the location isn’t very private, but we didn’t see another soul during the five days we stayed. There was a dog that was left outside, barking, several times a day. At least it wasn’t too loud or late at night. The main house is quite close but is well screened by trees and shrubbery.
All in all, we really enjoyed our stay!

Hi Mary, I thoroughly enjoyed staying at your sweet cottage. You've arranged it so that it has everything one might need without seeming crowded...so that it's warm and welcoming. I especially loved the plates, and all the kitchen equipment, since I was cooking all my meals.
One item you might check into is a mildew smell in the bathroom. I kept the bathroom window open to reduce moisture, and also kept the bathroom door closed to minimize any mold spore intrusion into the main cottage. This might be something other people wouldn't notice; I'm particularly sensitive to mold, so wanted to bring it to your attention.

I loved staying here. The cottage is very nicely set up with everything that is needed. There is even a private sauna for guests to enjoy. The view of Mount Shasta is absolutely gorgeous and the house is located in a perfect neighborhood. They allow dogs, which was perfect!
The host was very responsive and kind. I got a massage right on the property, and they placed a beautiful bouquet of flowers on my porch! I would love to go back there again!

We stayed here for one night on our way south from Washington state. The property isn't too far off of the main freeway arteries. The directions to the house were very clear, the cabin itself is very well stocked with little amenities and the sauna was lovely! Thank you!

This little angel cottage was great! Had everything my pup and I needed and a GORGEOUS view of Mount Shasta. There is also a nice trail to walk around the neighborhood, with more gorgeous nature views. The hosts were very kind and helpful! If you are traveling with pups, it may be helpful to know that the yard is not fenced in and they do have a dog of their own on their property. Just a heads up in case you need to keep your dog leashed. The place is just a short drive into the sleepy mountain town - I grabbed some gluten free pizza from The Garden Tap for dinner and went to Yaks in the morning for coffee/breakfast. Both were just a short 5 minute drive from the place and were great! Super quiet area, friendly people, and overall very peaceful and relaxing.

Shasta view
Somehow we were surprised at the view - I suppose it was in the review, but we forgot. Whatever reason after a day of driving, we were intrigued with the narrow lane that lead to the cottage/cabin, and then when we saw the view it was a lovely surprise! And the cabin/cottage itself exceeded our expectations. First of all air conditioning at the end of a hot day was well appreciated (and it worked very well). The kitchen was well supplied, the bed comfortable, and the sofa too. It was private and peaceful. We didn't use the sauna, weather wasn't conducive to that! But the sauna, inside a charming wine vat, would be great for winter stays. Oh, and we loved the beautiful old wooden floors, gorgeous. The wall paintings were tastefully done. If you are an NBA player, you might have to sit sideways on the toilet, but we were okay. :

Angelic cottage indeed!
Had an absolutely wonderful stay here! The patio with views of Mount Shasta is incredible and the sauna was a highlight. The patio is perfect for some morning yoga or reading with a cup of coffee/tea. It's the ideal home base for 1-2 people to explore the area.

Great place to spend some time
This is a great little place. It is quiet with magnificent views of Mt Shasta. It is also very comfortable and has some of the best tasting tap water ever. I could only stay for a day, but I could see myself returning for 3-4 days of relaxation in this very clean picturesque location.

Amazing
The Angel Cottage is a perfect little magical spot. Right at the base of Mt. Shasta with a breathtaking view. Enjoy a one of a kind massage with multiple healing modalities and then purge and release while sitting in the sauna on the back patio. Thanks for the much needed getaway and recharge! Angel cottage
My stay in early January for my birthday weekend was amazing! The cottage was so cute, clean and cozy . Everything I needed to make tea and sauté veggies, with a little refrigerator for my cold needs. The view was absolutely beautiful. I couldn’t stop looking. The energy was amazing and had a unforgettable time. Thank you for sharing your place, I plan to come back in the spring for a longer stay.

The angel cottage was so wonderful! The view of Shasta was incredible. The room was so cozy and had everything we needed! Mary and Fred were wonderful hosts and so easy to communicate with.

Private and clean
Really awesome stay, took a short birthday trip with my partner. The only thing got me was the owners listed bikes as an amenity and I even confirmed that they were available. When we asked about them upon arrival we were told they weren’t available. It was just kind of... weird. We had been super excited to use them. But overall all good.

Great Little Mountain Cottage
We spent one night at this nice little cottage. It is small but that is how mountain cottages are. Well equipped. The views and surroundings must be stunning. Unfortunately we could not enjoy them because of the smoke blanketing the area. Would very happily stay here again if in the area and clear skies are back. The only improvement I can think of is for the owner to provide a map with directions how to get to the property from the freeway. (She was very clear on how to get to the cabin once we reached the property). We had no problems thanks to the smart phone but I can imagine travelers who may have difficulties in this respect.

Very Cozy and Comfortable
We found this cottage charming and well equipped. We were able to relax with our dog and enjoy some peace and quiet. The walls are painted with angels and trees and the outside deck was great.

Great time at the angel cottage
My 2 kids and I were very pleased with the angel cottage. It was the perfect size for 2 kids and 1 adult. The neighborhood was quiet, numerous birds chirping in the mornings, were the only sounds that I heard, and loved it. Thanks Kevin G.

This property was perfect for us! Close enough to town that we could go grab something & far enough out to enjoy the view of Mt. Shasta, the quiet, and the stars at night. The sauna is the sweetest touch! Thank you for the home away from home during our adventure!

Peace of mind
Mary & Fred have a charming property with a great view of Mount Shasta. Everything was excellent...except the mushy bed mattress. One side was ok the other side was worn out- mushy and needs replacement.

Hosts were wonderful.
Property was better than advertised. Cleanliness and supplies perfect. Environmental cleanliness wonderful except for us propane heat could not be used. Hosts supplied electric and all was perfect.

Beautiful, clean and inviting place.
The place was exactly as described and the hosts were very responsive. It's in a beautiful little neighborhood in the foothills of Mt. Shasta. Loved the stay and will be back again!

Cozy & Warm
Arrived a few days after snowstorm, Fred helped us get into driveway. Angel Cottage awaited us with clean, warm and cozy lodging. Very comfortable bed. We will definitely return.

Wonderful Stay
Had a wonderful stay here. The property is even better in person than what the photos show! :) There's a fantastic view of the mountain from the porch swing. Overall, it was cozy, the heating was super effective, and I really enjoyed my stay. The host was friendly and able to help me locate the property since I arrived once it was dark and had trouble finding the street #s.

Sweet Spot!
A comfortable stay in a lovely cottage with fabulous views of the mountain. Amenities were thoughtfully chosen and the place was clean as a whistle. Cozy layout, great outdoor space, and sized just right for two people. Thanks, Mary and Fred! We will return.

Beautiful space to getaway
This was my second stay at the cottage. I came once with a friend for a night in the winter and we loved it but I didn’t really have a chance to ground in. This time I enjoyed the space solo and it was everything I wanted it to be. I spent the day hiking up to Heart Lake before check in and arriving in such a beautiful cultivated space was such a nice way to be received. The sauna and bathtub allowed for extra relaxation and the back area has a swing facing the mountain. I would live here if I could the space is so cute and relaxing. Thank you for creating this offering for those of us visiting the Mountain. :)

Epic View with Great Provacy
The view can’t get much better. The privacy patio with a porch swing was our favorite. The bed is super comfy and I really appreciated being able to bring my well behaved dog with me. That made this place the perfect spot. The only thing I was surprised about was the picture shows a large lawn in front of it but that’s from the angle of the owners yard so I was disappointed a little that the grass was not part of it. However there is a beautiful garden in the private patio part to make up for it. I also wish more of the French doors with screens. There’s 2 windows with a screen above but air flow where they bed would have been nice. All in all, I will be coming back to this peaceful gem.

My stay was peaceful and rejuvenating. The cottage has a beautiful view of the Mountain and there is a lovely garden just outside the patio where hummingbirds come.

Amazing little cottage at the foot of the mountain
It is a wonderful, cosy, very clean and thoughtfully organised tiny house in a very peaceful and convenient location. The view of Mount Shasta from the windows and from the yard is unbeatable! Mary and Fred are great and hospitable people. We loved our stay and hope to be back.
