Great place to relax and enjoy an amazing view of the marsh and tidal creeks. Everything you need for your stay including a really nice golf cart for exploring Fripp. We’ll be back!

Host cancelled my reservation and rebooked it for different dates without my approval. We booked Sunday-Sunday. Saturday at noon(day before check in) she says there’s a mistake, and we need to check in Saturday and leave the next Saturday. I live 10 hours away so that’s not possible. She said she had a new family checking in the next Saturday and didn’t want to upset two families so she was not changing their reservation. We would have lost over 2 1/2 days of our trip and I offered to check out by 7 AM Sunday. She said no so we had to at the last minute find someplace else to stay on Fripp Island with our four children. I would not agree to changing my dates so she said she was canceling my reservation. She will not respond to my messages or to Vrbo. Vrbo has reached out with no response.

We enjoyed our time here and on Fripp Island. Did some off island trips for horseback riding at Camelot Farms which has just been bought by Fripp Inc. Also a boat ride out of Beaufort and the Gullah tour on St. Helena. Everyone on the listing is accurate and good communication with owners when we had a question. There is a house going up right next door but suspect it will be done in next few weeks. Great sunset views and lots of bird watching. We also took advantage of the golf cart and went around the island and to the beaches all the time. There is a great access point right back over the small bridge to the beach. We got great fresh shrimp at Gay Seaford on the way to Beufort (they have other great fresh caught fish too) and great lunches at the Foolish Frog. Highly recommend the FF. Overall we really enjoyed our stay. It was overall calming and restful.

My wife, her brother, sister and I (all in our 70s) had a great stay. We enjoyed the stunning sunsets off the decks and terrific golf courses on the island - we played 5 rounds. The house was clean and the kitchen was well appointed with everything you'd need. We had a wonderful 2 week vacation!

This was a perfect home for my wife, one year old baby, and myself. The views from the deck were amazing, especially sunset. The golf cart and bikes were great as well. The host was extremely communicative and went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful stay. We would definitely stay again!

The sunsets from the back deck were absolutely beautiful. The house was very clean and well stocked. Great location close to the Marina Store and Bonita Boathouse. We had a little issue with the golf cart but Claire was quick to respond and got it taken care of without any interruptions to our daily schedule. The only thing that was a negative for us was the check out list of items that required cleaning and that it was not included in the description prior to booking. It made it hard to relax the night before and morning of check out. Overall, the stay was nice and we enjoyed the property.

Our stay was horrible! We checked in on Thursday, October 6th and by Friday October 5th around 4:00 PM, we were asked to leave by 5:00 PM because other guests were checking in. Needless to say , we were taken by surprise. We are all senior citizens, age ranging from 63 to 72. Having to leave do abruptly was an unexpected experience. We’ve rented through VRBO for greater than 20 years. We’ve never had an issue with over-booking, cleanliness of the rental no fees deducted. We were on vacation the mere fact that we were put at risk leaving that late in the evening with a 4 hour drive was horrible! We’ve never been treated so shabbily. This should never be a business practice of any company. I don’t want to play the race card, I feel certain this service or lack off would never happen to any other race. This experience left us in a terrible state. I pray and hope this never happen to any other guest while at a VBRO rental.
Too matters worse, there was construction going on with concrete trucks and noisy workers. By all rights, the house shouldn’t have been rented . No peace and quiet for the one day, before they gave us the boot.

Our family of four loved our stay on Fripp Island. The house was the perfect size for us and featured beautiful views and all the amenities we needed, plus reliable internet for remote working. The sunsets are indeed memorable and we even noticed that the marsh made interesting noises as the tides changed. Birds and deer abound if you enjoy wildlife. We rented kayaks and explored the river that you can see from the back decks, although one is also provided at the house.
Having bicycles and the golf cart at our disposal made exploring the island easy, and you can also walk to the beach if you have the time.
If we come to this area again we would definitely return to the Herbert's beautiful property!

Loved the location,l! This house has everything you would need for a great beach vacation. Golf cart, bikes, beach chairs and grills. We love to cook and the kitchen was well stocked! The outdoor spaces were exceptional and the interior of the house was super cute with comfortable beds. We hope to book this house again. My family had a great time!!

Very nice property in a great location. Little confusion on location of beds. There is a double bed w/ full bath on the first level off the kitchen / living room. There is a king bed / master on the upper level at the back of the house with two queens and bath at the front of the house. Great views. Totally accommodating. Loved having the golf cart. Lots of fun.

The property was quite nice and was in a good location outside of high season. It was clean and had a great view of the marsh. We had some trouble gaining access because word of our coming had not reached the gate.

We had a great time and pleased with the house! We only had one mishap but it was corrected and we were able to get on the island only loosing a couple of hours!

The house was just as described. The sun sets over the marsh right outside your back door. We used the back decks every morning and every evening to watch all the wildlife! House was clean and had mostly everything you will need for your vacation. Bring extra blankets if you’re anything like me and like to sit under a blanket on the couch in a cold house. The mattresses are firm but comfortable. We really enjoyed having a golf cart available to scoot around the island. The beach is just a few minutes away by golf cart ride. No need to bring beach chairs; there are plenty available, along with a cart, an umbrella and beach toys. Claire made sure everything was taken care of (car passes and amenities cards) even though I booked extremely last minute. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely book this home again!

This was the first trip that I was sad to leave. Kids make relaxing difficult, but somehow fripp island makes this possible.

This is a great property on Fripp Island. It is exactly as pictured. The home is fully equipped, including plenty of towels. (With my family of 6, that's a big deal!). It's also fantastic to have a kitchen and washer and dryer available.
We arrived on Saturday evening and walking into the master at sunset took my breath away. That view is amazing! I thought the location of the house was ideal on the island. The marina is quiet, and there's a small pool within walking distance, then you're a short golf cart ride from the Cabana pool (great for kids, there's a 1ft pool), the beach, and the club pool (great for teens). There's also a tiny convienence store in the marina. Of course, everything is more expensive but in an emergercy, it's great to have.
The island feels very safe, there are tons of activities for kids, and I had no qualms about letting our teens attend events alone. The kids walked and biked without supervision. That's a wonderful thing.
Like the previous poster said, stop at Food Lion of Publix on your way in. It is about a 35 minute drive back to the closest grocery, so grab what you need while you're in town. This was our first time renting a home, so we didn't realize that we would need paper goods. Don't forget TP, paper towels, and laundry detergent while you're there!
Beaufort is a sweet little town and fun to explore. We ate most dinners there during the week. For families we highly recommend Upper Crust Pizza and Shrimp Shack (lunch only). We also liked Bricks on Boundry.

We can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay at this house. Everything we needed was provided so all there was to do was relax. The house is so well stocked with golf cart, bikes, beach toys and chairs, etc. mornings and evenings on the screened porches overlooking the marsh were incredible. The location is 2-3 minutes to beach via the cart and close to all other activities including ocean creek golf course which is excellent. If ever in the area again we'll stay here.

We highly recommend staying at the Herbert house! This was our first time using VRBO. We were invited to a wedding on Fripp and having never been there before, it became quickly apparent that we would need to rent a house. I knew I wanted a house with a water view, as well as a house that offered equal bathrooms to bedrooms. A quick search pulled up the 3 bed/3 bath Herbert House, which perfectly met these criteria.
The Herbert house is located in the marina and overlooks the really beautiful marsh; the sunset views on the water are breathtaking from the back porch. It's the very first house on the street and is set farther apart from the other houses on the street, giving loads of privacy. From the house, you can walk to Bonito Boathouse for dinner, take an evening cruise, put in the kayak for a sunset dolphin trip, or take a dip in the small marina pool. It may not be the beach, but there is plenty to do! It's a quick bike ride (and even faster golf cart ride) to the golf course and beach.
The house is well-equipped for you to come in and make yourself right at home. I highly recommend stopping in the Publix in Beaufort on your way in to stock up on food supplies for your stay as the Herbert kitchen is a great place to make your daily meals. There are loads of movies, books, and board games to entertain you should you want a low-key day around the house. I spent several hours happily sitting on the back patio with my cup of tea, watching the birds and deer (so many deer!) along the marsh. Extremely peaceful and stunning.
The 3 bedrooms are a great feature of this house. Each bedroom has its own full bath and patio. The master has a comfy king bed and giant tub (with views!) and its own patio. It wound up being just the two of us that stayed here and we were so happy with the master bedroom. The other room on the top floor has 2 full size beds plus the room on the bottom floor has a full size bed. There is an alcove upstairs where an air mattress could be placed if needed. Plenty of towels too (both bath and beach!). We also loved that we had use of bicycles, golf cart, and a 2 person sit-on-top kayak during our stay!
Most importantly, Claire. Claire was a dream come true to work with. Prompt to every inquiry (and I had a LOT!), she was very professional and kind. She made me feel very welcome to her home and she also promptly addressed issues encountered. My damage refund was promptly returned as well, which was awesome!

We visit this area every year, although this was our first stay on Fripp Island.... the location of the home is ideal as it is very close to the marina, pool, restaurants and shops. My son and his friend loved the Kayak and the golf cart! Thank you so much for letting us stay at your beautiful home

This is our first visit on Fripp Island and even though not in peak weather enjoyed every minute of our relaxing stay. The house was clean upon arrival and the rooms inviting and comfortable. Much thought has been put into the decorating and beach feel of this home!
After one of the coldest and snowiest winters we headed south to Fripp Island for 2 weeks.
We love to travel and always rent houses..the kitchen has everything you need to cook
fabulous meals in..the beds are really comfortable which is always a plus after biking most days. The sunsets each night were picture perfect!!
Location was perfect..we loved 2 minutes to the beach..but the views every night on the marsh were the perfect ending to a busy day. Claire was so accommodating with any questions during our stay. The golf cart and bikes made our exploring the island a great experience. The garage has plenty of beach items for everyone plus the grill..what a bonus to begin your vacation minutes after we arrived!
We would recommend this home for a wonderful family vacation..or simply a get away !
Location was perfect and we would come back again..again!

We have stayed at this house a couple of times. It is always clean, very comfortable and decorated in adorable beach decor. I am picky about beds, baths and kitchens and never disappointed here. Plus these houses are much roomier that they look. We love evenings on the back screen porches watching the sunset over the marsh. It is very quiet and so convenient to the beach and all the Fripp amenities. Love the golf cart and bikes too. Very good rental hosts.

What a fabulous vacation we had at your home. My husband and I decided to treat the children to a last minute vacation over Labor Day. I was so pleased to find that your home was available. You were so accommodating and fabulous to work with! Quick to answer my last minute questions as we were driving down there. The home was perfect for us. We have a 7 year old, 4 year old and 9 month old. The kids loved the upstairs room. Having TVs in all the rooms was great for the afternoon rest times. The garage has absolutely everything you need to enjoy the island - from the golf cart to beach umbrella and pool toys. The view was peaceful and the location is great. We loved being near the Marina so the kids could grab and ice-cream treat and it was easy to take a boat out one morning and spend the afternoon paddle boarding. Thank you again for a wonderful experience!

We had a great week in this beautiful house. The home was just as advertised and we really liked the location. The marina pool was right by the house and almost empty in the evenings. The beach was a quick cart ride to access with plenty of parking. The sunset views from the decks were awesome. The home was very clean and well stocked with everything we needed. The garage is stocked with about anything you would want at the beach. We would definitely rent the home again.

The beach home was very nice, well maintained, clean, comfortable and tastefully decorated. The master bath has a large whirlpool tub that overlooks the salt marsh and waterway in back. The home also includes all the needed amenities and cooking gear as well as books, games and several TVs.
The screened in porches were a big plus so we could relay and enjoy the beautiful view, sunsets and watch the change in tide.
A golf cart was provided so we were able to drive around and explore the island. The island itself is absolutely beautiful including the beach. There are small deer everywhere! The people we met were very friendly and the island is very secure as you need to go through security to get on to it. The other accommodations (restaurants, pools, golf course, activities) were also very nice to have access to.
The closest main town is Beaufort and it is very historic and there are several unique shops off of Bay street. We also made a trip down to Savannah (about 1.5 hour drive) and took a horse drawn carriage tour which was very fun and interesting.
The owners had everything prepared, provided good instructions and were very responsive and easy to connect with making the overall experience a very good one. We would highly recommend this property to others!
