Location is excellent - clean, accessible, with convenient parking. Modern, well-equipped furnishings. Easy walks to both bay and ocean beaches. Nearby amenities include restaurants, bars, bakery, and coffee shop within 3-4 minutes.
We enjoyed watching our children play on the calm bay beach from the patio. Parents should note access requires going through the apartment complex, which means there’s some delay if you had a true emergency.
We had a few odd issues though.
First, AC relies on two portable units, rather than mini-splits or central air. These require partially open sliding glass doors for ventilation tubes and the units were really really loud. In August heat, bedrooms remained in the low 70s overnight. This likely would be less of an issue other times of the year.
Secondly, listing includes a garage, but access is limited. We had a designated parking space and were allowed to store bikes in the garage. However, with the owner's car present which meant it was as easy to bring our bikes as we hoped.
Finally, after our first shower, we reported a pre-existing shower drain backup. We reported it and it was addressed quickly, but an insurance claim was filed and we got dinged unfairly for it.

The apartment was amazing, the space was beautifully designed, lots of space, clean and tidy. The views over the bay were gorgeous and our favourite was the 3 minute walk to the beach - the sunsets at mission beach really are something else. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking utensils, pots and pans and the beds were very comfy. Nice and quite on an evening. Such a great place to explore the Mission bay/beach area.

The condo is in a great location on a quiet bay a couple of blocks from the Pacific. The boardwalk is great for exercising whether walking, running or cycling. Much less congested than the Pacific side. There are several good restaurants within easy walking distance and many of San Diego’s top tourist attractions are within a 15 minute drive. The condo was well equipped.
The only things that keep it from being perfect are the parking which is tight on an alley, a Toyota Forerunner, which we rented is a little too long, and the lock boxes to get a key for the building were somewhat confusing to use until you figure them out. Also, the AC is done with portable units that need to be put at the sliding doors to use which were needed in August and the washer and dryer are coin units on the property whereas most VRBO’s where they are noted are in the unit and part of the rental. All of this is noted in the details provided but can be misleading in a casual reading of what is included.
We enjoyed the property and would rent again if going to the area.

The primary property was very well cared for and well equipped - especially for staying with an infant and 4 year old. We loved the views and the low-key nature of the bay. The shared laundry room could use some work, but there are other laundry mats near by if seeded

Our family of 4 had an amazing week in this condo. Plenty of space for everyone and a great view from the balcony. Plenty of great eats in walking distance and the perfect beach spot a two minute walk away. Condo is comfy, clean and enjoyable!

All the good things about the property in other reviews are true. It is a lovely property with a great location.
We had a small hiccup at check-in, but the property manager was quick to handle it. Be sure to heed warnings about parking space. We had a large vehicle and needed to keep it at the nearby lot. We saw no ladder for the bunk bed, which was an issue for us. However, a stowaway bed in the closet worked quite well. We experienced a bit of trouble locking the door. Again, the property manager was quick to respond. Finally, both bathrooms are on the 3rd floor with the bedrooms. There is not one on the floor with kitchen/living areas. These are just some little things that we thought might be helpful to know in advance, but in no way created a negative experience during our stay.
Note: AFTERWARD, we received a text about a “nasty sink” and sand in the master bath shower, followed with “hopefully your insurance will cover.”
We were flabbergasted. We had never had an issue in a rental before. We questioned their claims and were met with “what is wrong with you and how do you sleep at night?” and that we should be apologizing and “stay home in the future and not destroy other people’s property with negligence.”
We asked specifically whom we were speaking to and asked them to “most kindly provide the bill.” They responded with “I am the owner of our home that you wrecked. Good Bye.”
Again, just something that may be helpful to know in advance.

This rental was perfect for our spring break get away! Located right on the beach - walking distance to shops and restaurants. Easy access to the Zoo, Seaworld and Downtown. The house was beautifully decorated, comfortable and had everything we needed! Thank you for a relaxing and fun vacation

Our 2nd March stay @ this same VRBO location. Probably could use a replacement ceiling light in main shower room otherwise all else in excellent working order including WIFI. This VRBO has excellent outdoor parking for width & length for our 2015 Toyota Highlander. Parking outside could even accommodate a vehicle ~3 inches longer. Beds very comfortable. Bay views excellent with balcony to sit and read as well. Many restaurants & coffee shops are walking distance. With location right on the bay expect just a couple blocks walk to the ocean side. We seemed to hit the bay @ time of perfect weather. If one likes to walk, the bay walk is just a few steps away. Kayak and small boat rentals are walking distance away. We very much enjoyed our stay.

Property was just the perfect location for my family of 4; Minutes from the beach by foot, close to all the things we wanted to do, quiet and super clean. We had one issue with a loose toilet and it was fixed immediately.
I would definitely stay here again if we come back to the area. Book this rental and you won’t be disappointed.

Clean, well kept up property on the bay side. Good location with easy access to San Diego attractions and restaurants. When the storm came in, the Oceanside was very windy, but the bay was relatively calm. But you’re still with in easy walking distance to the Oceanside Beaches.

Fantastic location. Great host. Terrific stay. I rented this place for my daughter and her college roommate. They just told me yesterday there were ants in the kitchen during their entire stay, but I’m sure the host would’ve taken care of that had they told me then. Otherwise, their stay was terrific. Everything was within walking distance. They did say all the blinds were not able to keep the sunlight out extremely early in the morning, but that’s not really a big deal either. We would rent this property again.

My husband and I spent a week in this beautiful condo on Mission Bay. It was everything we could have asked for. Quiet, very clean, safe, comfortable king bed, great shower and a wonderfully decked out kitchen. It’s very convenient to everything, we played tennis at Barnes in Point Lona, we golfed at Coronado, we ate wonderful food in La Jolla.

Great place to stay on Mission Beach. The condo was large, clean and close to everything. A quick walk to the ocean, best coffee shop, restaurants and bars. We enjoyed coffee in the morning and wine in the evening on the balcony overlooking the bay. An ideal location to stay especially with children as it was quiet at night. Would definitely recommend!!

An updated condo over looking the bay walk near the Santa Clara Point recreation center, It was a 3 day weekend so a lot of families and kids about. Its easy to walk to several nearby places for breakfast, lunch or dinner. It has a parking place which is a must for the beach area! It's a short walk to the ocean and the board walk there. Having a light there at Santa Clara is helpful to getting to the condo area you don't miss your turn :)

This is our second time staying here and it was just as great as the first. Perfect location. Clean. Spacious. And parking! In Mission and PB that’s a premium in itself! Trust me, this is a great spot for a San Diego getaway.

We really enjoyed our stay in San Diego! The condo was clean and a good amount of space for my family. The location was perfect! We rented a water trampoline in the bay one day and we went spent a lot of time on both the bay side and the ocean as it was a quick walk. I would highly recommend!

The location of the unit is great, right in front of the bay. I would just suggest that you read the information thoroughly, we didn’t, we were surprised that we didn’t have bottom floor unit, the unit is two stories, second and third floor. You also have storage for water toys/equipment in the garage which was great. We had a great stay. About a three block walk to the beach side.

We had a great time at our recent stay. The location is great just walk out the door and you're on the beach at the bay. It is much quieter than the ocean side. However, it is only a quick couple block walk to the Ocean side for when you want that atmosphere. We were able to walk to various coffee shops, restaurants, and Belmont Park.
Driving and parking are pretty tight, our rental car was an explorer that did not technically fit in the outdoor parking space by a couple inches, but we were not ticketed and there were other cars parked there that were even larger. But we may have just gotten lucky, so be wary of what car you're trying to park.
There are some beach chairs and towels, but limited other beach items like toys for kids etc. so bring some if you want that. Otherwise, the condo was decently stocked though we didn't cook during this particular stay. Despite the tight streets and general traffic, it's still a quick drive from the condo to various attractions (Zoo, Midway, etc.). Would definitely return.

First time staying on the bay side as we usually stay on the ocean side and we were impressed. Clean, great location, fun times. Parking for small cars only was the only downside. Don’t expect to park a truck or large suv in the assigned parking.

We loved our time in mission beach! This area is a chill getaway. The condo faces the bay and the calm waters are great for kids. The Pacific is a 3 block walk! Waves were fun for boogie boarding. Not crowded. But even in July water is chilly. The condo was just right for us. Never need the AC even in July. Would love to come back! Lots of easy food choices in walking distance.

The place was perfect! Close enough to all of the action on the beach, but peaceful and quiet on the bay once we returned to the rental.
Fireworks were visible from the balcony and my kids loved swimming in the bay, which was right in our backyard.
We purchased some sand toys that we left behind in the garage for future guests 😊

We had a wonderful getaway to Mission Bay with an amazing home. We had everything we needed – and more! We had some trouble accessing the building, but David was just a phone call away to quickly assist. His communication was top notch from the moment we booked. He provided thorough details and instructions without any crazy check out or cleaning requirements.
The home itself is wonderful. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need. The balcony was the perfect place to enjoy the Sea World fireworks and a nice glass of wine after a busy day in the sand. Everything is updated and comfortable. There were portable AC units provided, but we had wonderful weather and didn't need them. I was concerned since our visit was in July, but it was beautiful.
Our boys loved the bunk bed and having their own TV. Our room was comfortable as well. The only minor improvement I could recommend would be darker window coverings. The current ones don't feel very private and let in quite a bit of light resulting in early wake ups – the kids were up as early as 5:40 one of the mornings.
Overall we had a perfect getaway and will definitely return in the future!

Our family of 6 really enjoyed our 4-night stay at this property. The condo was clean, spacious and had everything we needed to be comfortable. The location was perfect for us. The bayside was quiet and relaxing. We enjoyed our morning coffee (Better Buzz is literally 1 block away) and evening cocktail on the balcony while the kids played in the sand just below us. The kids also enjoyed the volleyball net and grassy area; definitely plenty of room for them to run around outside. The ocean was a short walk away, as were several family-friendly restaurants. Easy access to all things San Diego. Parking is tight for a big SUV but we were able to park for free overnight in the lot just a short walk away. We would stay at this property again. Thanks for a great stay!

This rental is great for a small family. We had everything we needed and would normally have at home. It was such an easy stay. The location is great too! coffee shops less than a block away and a nice grocery store with easy parking within a mile.
My only complaint was the 10 am checkout. That was tough with the clean up and 2 kids even with very little clean-up expected.

I've stayed in the Mission Beach area a few times and this is by far the best location yet! Right on the bay, only a 2 minute walk to the surf, and a great coffee shop almost outside the front door! Restaurants and shops so close we didn't even go to a grocery store once. The home is very well appointed and the layout is terrific. Stairs, though, so not suitable for anyone with mobility impairments, just as a heads-up. Try "Single Fin" for dinner and great drinks, and rent a surrey from Action Sports Rentals! SO much fun!!

The location was great. Right on the bayside with beach only a few minutes walk away. Unfortunately the deck didn't get a lot of afternoon sun. Loved all the windows and view. The space fit our family well and we appreciated the extra baby items provided (high chair and pack n play). The place was pretty dusty (fan, stair rails, etc) and very minimally stocked. The $1500 deposit or $59 mandatory insurance was a bit ridiculous along with the cleaning expectations (garbages all out, floors swepted/vacuumed, etc) on top of a cleaning fee. We felt horrible running the vacuum at 5am to clean before we flew out. The neighbors were loud late at night. We would definitely stay in the area again but probably not here.
