This property was spacious and super close to the beach. Bedrooms were a good size and there was plenty of room for everyone. It was in a nice neighborhood. This didn't bother our stay but we believe there may be some electrical issues...lights flickered in the kitchen some and one of my outlets didn't work in the mother in law suite bedroom and the washer had some issues with our first load of laundry. The pics of the pool were a little deceiving. It was pretty small. Overall though, we would definitely stay here again. My family really enjoyed it. The property manager was super helpful and had great communication.

Everything we needed for a very nice week with family. Short walk to the beach, pool, and plenty of room to move around in the house. The house was clean and that’s always a plus for me. I do need to say that the neighbors were so nice to us, very friendly and helpful. We ask the lady next door about a good place to eat seafood and she sure did! Just a short drive to a place called Aunt Kates, we ate there twice. I would highly recommend staying here to anyone.

Carpe Diem was such a great place to stay. The house is beautiful, everything worked great, convenient walk to the beach. Cute neighborhood and they had everything we needed. The pool is on the smaller side, but it was perfect for us. We would definitely stay here again!

We all loved it! There was lots to do including ocean, pool, shopping and sight-seeing. Good restaurants are plentiful. The house provided an excellent location for everything and was fully equipped with large rooms to make our stay extremely comfortable. We appreciated the recliners in the family room and the large TV. Very nice accommodations!

Great house, great time! The layout of the house — with all the shared spaces on the ground floor and all bedrooms upstairs — was convenient and well thought-out. We had all the room we needed and enjoyed our stay.

Even though it was in a neighbor hood off the beach it took us less time walking to the beach than if we were in a condo on the beach. Easy crossing A1A to beach walkover. No stairs. Beach is not crowded and is a paradise for finding shells.
This house is large so you won't be bumping in to each other. Great time with family.

We rented this house for my daughter's wedding at tge Lightener Museum. My parents and my sisters joined us. The house was perfect with every bedroom having it's own bathroom. The pool was also a hut with my niece and nephews. Would absolutely stay again.

The house was great. Very clean and well appointed for a beach getaway. Short walk to the beach. Short drive to historic St Augustine. Reaxing and so much fun!

We selected this property over several others because it was spacious, we had 8 guests, some were not couples. We also liked the fact that it had a pool and beach access and parking. We planned to spend several days enjoying the beach. This did not happen, we had to drive to a different beach. Much to our disappointment, this property has several misleading items in the listing. Beach access is a joke. You must side step down a sand slope of about 10 feet or climb multiple stairs over A1A carrying beach supplies, your wagon and ice chests, it was a nightmare! The pool is tiny with sand debris. The bed rooms were all ok with the exception of the pull out sofa beds. You will be sleeping on springs and no sheets to fit. One bedroom had the carpet tacks exposed at the bathroom doorway. One guest cut her foot entering. We placed a throw rug over the tacks to prevent future injuries. Roaches and spiders where throughout the house. Spray service did spray, but to no avail. Fan & lights were broken. The master bathroom had mold in the grout lines, we were told that the grout was discolored. The garage had a strong mildew smell. We attempted to air it out. The a/c was out for 2 nights with temperatures reaching 88, it was unbearable. Many amenities are misleading. Just beware, read all the reviews, the property is not well managed or maintained. These issues were not addressed during our stay. As well as others. We were not offered comp for even 1 night. Very dissatisfied!

Property was great! We were there for a friends wedding. Shared the house with another family. Plenty of room. Layout of house was great and met our needs. Loved the location. Short walk to beach and about 10-15 minutes to downtown St Augustine.

House was clean and had plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for everyone in our group. Four Large bedrooms, each with it's own ensuite bathroom, each had their own TV plus a HUGE TV in the family room. Lots of seating at dining room and kitchen tables with stools at a bar counter in the kitchen. Pool was very small but screen enclosed porch was lovely this time of year, lots of seating there also. Only complaint I have was the liquid hand soap in the bathroom we used wasn't just soap it was very watered down, didn't feel like my hands got clean when I washed them. Feel like I'm being petty mentioning that but thought maybe the owners didn't know maybe the cleaning service did this. I think it was only in the one bathroom. We had one maintenance issue, that was resolved in a timely manner. Sandy at First Choice was great to work with and answered all our questions promptly. We had a wonderful time and if we need this large of a house again we would definitely stay at Carpe Diem. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us.

The house, location and communication with property management were all excellent. The only cautionary comment that I have is regarding the size of the pool. If there are children involved, please note that the pool is quite small. However, the property is directly across the street from an ocean beach. All and all, very nice accommodations.

Property wasn't quite as described. Although, it is a short walk to the beach- you do have to cross a 55mph highway to get to the beach (this was a little difficult for older members of our group & a bit dangerous for younger ones). We had a group of 14 family members with us. The 2 futons are actually very uncomfortable pull-out couches in 2 different living rooms & the 2 twin beds are rollaway beds. We had plenty of towels, but ran out of toilet paper halfway through the week with 14 people using bathrooms. They only supplied us with 1 extra roll in each bathroom. Also, lots of extra pillows, but no pillow cases. My suggestions to the home owner would be to supply a few 'extras' ie: extra toilet paper, paper towel, zip lock bags, more blankets, throw blankets, games, pillow cases, a binder with pamphlets of things to do in St. Augustine & restaurants would have been extremely helpful. Overall a fine experience, we never had any major issues that we needed to contact anyone about. Check in/out was very easy.

I rented this house for my whole family to stay, 12 of us, and we never felt crowded or smushed. We had plenty of room. The beach is right across the road, which was super easy to get too. We really enjoyed our stay. The only problem was the oven went on the fritz in the evening, but the company called me back first thing the next day. We would definitely stay here again’

My family and I enjoyed our stay at this property. We thought it was a great location to get to several destinations in the area. The property is in need of some TLC, but nothing major that would spoil the stay. There are little things that need to be done though. My family of 6 stayed at the property and had Thanksgiving. The kitchen had a total of 4 spoons. This is something that the Property Manager/cleaning crew should not allow to happen. An easy $5 fix with a trip to walmart. There was limited amenities such as trash bags that I think should be provided. I would not recommend using the house for the full 14 guests that the listing says it will accommodate.

While the home overall is ok, there were a few issues. First, the pool. It is SMALL. I wasn't expecting huge, but his was tiny. Second, the kitchen was a disorganized nightmare. We finally just dumped out all of the drawers and organized to find enough silverware for the 6 of us to use. Pans need to be replaced. Beds were hard in the 2 rooms I tried. Girls said theirs were "super firm" as well. The toilet in the master suit leaks continuously, causing soaked rugs and unpleasantly wet feet. Been a problem for a while judging by the ceiling stains. 2 showers also leaking through ceiling. The house is just tired. There were cobwebs in the lighting fixtures, and the gross mess beside the washing machine was disturbing. Thick coat of dust and grease above the stove exhaust. Doors to pool deck stuck and difficult to open. We finally got 2 to function. The furnishings in the house are nice, but the home needs basic repairs and more thorough cleaning.

We had 8 adults in our party and the house was very spacious to accommodate everyone. There was a little damage to the screens around the pool due to the hurricane but we were in communication with the property manager Marty who coordinated the repairs promptly. Although the pool was much smaller than expected we still enjoyed it after a day at the beach. Overall we had a wonderful time.

The house was very nice. However, the listing was a bit misleading. It shows on the breakdown as having 5 bedrooms, one of which includes the futons and singles (roll away beds) but the "futons" are really hide away couch beds in both living rooms, NOT a private room, and the roll aways were in two seperate bedrooms in different parts of the house up 2 different staircases. There were a few things damaged like the refrigerator door that makes it hard to close at times. The air conditioning went out, but they were very responsive to getting it fixed. Once that was done we had a great time with wonderful friends. The walk to the beach is fairly easy with a great beach area! Overall it was a great vacation in a beautiful house!

The house is large, with 4 full bed/bath combos. The proximity to the beach is fantastic, and it’s close enough to things to be convenient, but far enough to offer some solitude. We would stay again.
That said, the entire house needs updating. I stayed in the room above the garage, which was notably warmer than the rest of the house. The fridge/freezer do not close reliably, and sometimes pop open if you aren’t paying attention. The pool is smaller than the pics make it look.

We were thrilled that that this house looked exactly like the pictures! The beds were comfortable for a rental and very spacious. It was well stocked with so many towels and great stocked kitchen (including a coffee pot/Keurig machine, a good blender, and pots/pans, etc). The walk to the beach is quick, you do have to cross a busy 2 lane road (A1A) but it’s easy and there is a steep hill to walk on/off the beach due to dune erosion from storms. The beach was quiet and beautiful. Would definitely recommend this house.

17th Street Beach House
House is in great shape. Enjoyed the pool even though it is small. Walk to the beach was not bad at all, it was a lot closer than it appeared. I would certainly stay at this property again!

Convenient and quiet.
This was the perfect vacation home for our family, age range from 3yr old to 84yr old. 4 bedrooms with their own full bath and half bath downstairs. The added sleeper sofas downstairs was a nice added touch. The short walk down to the beach was breeze. The heated pool for the little ones was a nice touch. And after a day downtown or at the beach it was nice to come to the house in a quiet neighborhood, with friendly neighbors/locals. Couldn't ask for more no issues and was clean.

Great location
We had an AC issue on 2nd day, but they were prompt on having their ac maintenance tech out to repair! The house is beautiful and accommodates plenty! Rooms are very nice! Pool was on the smaller side, but worked for our 4 children that loved it! We would definitely go again!

The house was very nice. The pool was a little smaller than I expected and the screened porch had a few holes in the screen letting mosquitoes in. We still had a lovely time with the family.
