Really enjoyed the regular visitation of the large turtles each evening. One eve there were nine! The furniture was old and very uncomfortable. The frig was loaded with rust and uninviting. Would really have liked air conditioning as the unit faces west and the sun heats up the unit at dinnertime.

As others have said, this isn’t the Ritz and we love it just for that reason. 218 has one of the best views overlooking the cove. Sitting on the balcony you can watch the whales, the surfers, the turtles and the sunsets. Oh the sunsets. Also the rain brought in double rainbows everyday. You can be in the water within minutes with great snorkeling. The kitchen is very long and narrow so might be challenging for more than one cook. Thank you Su and Betty for replacing the well abused coffee maker. Knives were a bit abused as well but did the job. The condo is nicely decorated, beds were fine and the bathrooms nicely updated with great water pressure. Couch could use some replumping, but like I’ve said before, we love this place and will continue to come back!

We really appreciate the small, low-rise, relaxing surroundings. Our unit, 120, could use a couple of improvements. The king-size bed's mattress is covered by a too-small foam pad that leaves a huge ridge between the edge of the bed and several inches in. I.e., the mattress should probably be replaced or at least get a king-size foam pad.. The kitchen eating utensils are a little sparse. It there are six guests, you run out of clean forks, spoons, etc., pretty often. All the glasses and plates are plastic.We added four stemless wine glasses. There were only four of the plastic ones. However, all in all, 120 is a great unit with a fantastic view. Really like the new sofa. (New to us. We hadn't been there in 2 years.) We love the Honokeana Cove and wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else. (Do hope that we can still afford it in the coming years.)

After voicing my complaints with the lady at the front desk, not Su, her surly attitude blaming Covid, did not satisfy my issues. The overall appearance of our room, was disgustingly filthy. There was bird droppings on the TV, the bathrooms looked like they had not be cleaned, dust was in every room, and the silverware, pots and pans, stemware and overall appearance of the kitchen were deplorable. There was food caked on the steak knives. Also, when I asked for clean towels and washcloths I was informed that none were available, and we should wash the ones we had already used. Not acceptable. I paid, in full for this room, very expensive, in full over a year ago, I expected much nicer accommodations than what we were given, and certainly much nicer customer service. Needless say to say, I will never stay at the cove again. The issues I have expressed could have and should have been resolved long before we checked in, blaming the Covid is absolutely unacceptable. In addition surly customer service is also not acceptable.

I don't want too many people to discover the walk-in aquarium right in front of the condo, the panoramic ocean views, the turtles basking on the rocks, the whales leaping in the distance, the swaying palm trees or the cozy, friendly personality of this place.

This was our second stay, and we plan to come back for many more. Unit #218 was great for two couples - one upstairs and one downstairs. The furnishings were clean and modern and the layout suited us well, with plenty of room for meals on the balcony, and cool breezes to keep us comfy while sleeping. The location is also superb - we enjoyed walking the Kapalua Coastal Trail daily, including Devil's Teeth, and taking advantage of all the great restaurants and takeout options within a half mile of the condo.

If you're looking for a high-end, air-conditioned, luxury resort on a white-sand beach, this isn't it. If you're looking to relax in a quiet, cozy, comfortable cove with unsurpassed views - both above and under the water - you've found it. Just please, don't tell anyone.

We had a 3rd couple with us who had never been to Maui before. It was fun sharing our cove with them, and it was great! Unit 218 is right over the water, and great for turtle and whale watching. The only complaint was not having a 3rd bathroom, and the kitchen was not real well equipped for 6 people. Otherwise it was perfect!!

The location cannot be beat. The complex is right on a secluded bay that is not easy to access unless you are staying here. The grounds of the complex were well-maintained. Unit 218 itself is perfectly-situated right on the water. It is also farther away from the road than other units, so that reduces the road noise. There was an assortment of beach gear including several chairs and a nice Tommy Bahama umbrella in one of the closets, which was a nice surprise.
Cons:
The mattress in the master downstairs bedroom needs to be replaced. It was worn down and extremely uncomfortable. I am not a large person (5'9", 170 lbs) so it wasn't a "me" issue. The couch needs to be replaced or repaired. As other reviewers have noted, one end sags significantly. My 3-star rating for "the property's general condition" reflects these issues (the condition of the overall complex itself is a 5-star).

Reviewer Comments: Starting with the negative...When we arrived, at the worst possible time around 4 PM, the place was hot and we figured out no AC right before arriving. (My fault for not looking specifically for AC) We are Texans so AC is a must! However, I will say after we opened all the windows, it did cool off and some other guests that have gone to this place for years said this was the hottest year and that usually it is fine with no AC. Everything else was fantastic. We loved the location and the quiet of the place. The pool was small but not crowded ever! Highlight was the ability to walk out your door to the most fantastic snorkeling in Honokeana Cove. I would definetly return if I can talk the hubby into trying again at a cooler time. If you are not from Texas, and are accustomed to no AC, I would rent this in a heartbeat.

This location is hard to beat. You have the best access to a cove full of turtles and amazing snorkeling. You also have the best balcony in the complex, all yours, overlooking the bay! There is a community BBQ area that is cleaned spotless every day. There is a safe place to store your SUP. A nice walk brings you to Napili Bay, SeaHouse, and Gazebo. Bring your own shampoo etc. and don’t expect the Ritz because this is very much a beach house ... and it was perfect for us (three couples, family). The blender made excellent pina coladas 👍� We would definitely stay here again! Note to owner: more plates are needed, a runner rug in the entry hall would be a huge plus, as would a working floor fan for every bedroom (ceiling fans were in every bedroom and functioning but it does get warm without an additional fan).
