Even though the weather was less than desirable for a beach vacation, we had a great stay at North Bend by the Sea. The property was spacious enough to comfortably accommodate 6 adults and 3 pups, being inside more than we’d wished. We would certainly be interested in a return trip!

This is our first time booking the property. I have five children ages 19,18,14,10 and 7. We also had my parents meet us for vacation. We brought along our two dogs that are more like family. I can not begin to tell anyone looking at this property how amazing it is for any and everyone. I have absolutely NO complaints. Every single detail was ahhhhhmazing!! This property is a gem!! Don’t sleep on it, it is worth every penny!

The property was clean and well maintained. It would have been nice to have a more detailed description of the layout, or plan, of the house; one description listed 4 bedrooms, instead of 5, as well as a "daybed" on the 2nd floor. Access to the beach was very problematic, with the large boulders and debris that we had to climb over to get down to the sand. We had two people fall over the rocks during our stay, fortunately without serious injury. Internet connection was intermittent and didn't work much at all in the evenings. The rental charges plus "additional" fees and taxes were too high, and would have ordinarily been prohibitive for us at another time.

We had a great stay at the house, it was bigger than pictured, clean, the location was amazing. It was missing beach chairs, you would think a house on the ocean would provide those, but besides that our stay was wonderful.
We did have a very poor experience with the rental management company upon check in. The house was completely vacant before our arrival, no one checked out that day, the cleaning was done... and yet they said we could not check in early unless we paid a $114 fee, and if we paid the fee we can check in 2 hours early. We have several properties ourselves on VRBO for 10+ years and are frequent travelers... and NEVER have I heard of an early check in fee, let alone one as steep as $114. Especially since the house was just sitting there unoccupied & clean. We have always allowed guests to check in early as a kind thing to do... not to try & gouge them for more money.
Even hotels allow early check in if the room is ready.
We had hundreds of dollars of catering food leftover from our sons wedding the night before and they wouldn't even allow us to throw it in the fridge so it didn't spoil. So much for southern hospitality! I would recommend they find a new rental management company that cares about their guests and isn't trying to make a extra buck any way possible.

We spent five days together in this wonderful beachfront home and had an amazing stay. The trip was for my mothers 94th Birthday. The group included her children and grandchildren. The layout worked well for our group and the outside porches were wonderful. The weather was perfect, sunny and in the high 70’s everyday and we felt like we had a private beach.

This house was great choice for a gathering of our extended family. It was a beautiful site on the front beach and had wonderful outdoor areas with porches and decks. But the coffee maker is not working properly and needs some attention or replacement. Thanks so much!

Great Time in Folly Beach
Wonderful stay in Folley Beach while in town for the Cooper River Bridge Run. Place was very clean and well kept. Plenty of space... even with 6 kids! Host was awesome and very responsive. My favorite part... you cannot beat the view from the back deck. Perfect spot to watch the sunrise or sunset over the beach with a coffee. Looking forward to returning back to this property soon!

Ocean nirvana
Although the bungalow itself is on the older side, owners have done an excellent job of maintaining the property. The upper and lower decks were amazing and being able to hear the ocean at night with the windows open (with heat or AC off) was amazing. This is a spectacular rental and well worth it. Make sure you take note of the wall upstairs with the beautiful German barometers!! As a caveat- The screens to the doors to the front porch and the screened porch need some attention (stripping and screen material are loose) so be careful. Also the guest commode (off the round table area) has a cover that needs to be replaced or reattached. Neither of these minor issues were of major concern while we were there and are only mentioned here as a heads up. We loved our stay here as did our pups and look forward to returning.

Christmas 2021
We booked last minute so didn’t have much to choose from. The house had plenty of room for the 7 of us. It was comfortable. The beach access was GREAT!!! Nice deck and screened in porch (rusted hinge needs replacing) Linens were nice and there were supplies for the first couple days provided: dishwasher pods, dish wash liquid, sponge, kitchen towels, and paper towels, small hand soaps for bathrooms, toilet paper, wash machine pods, extra trash bags, etc. Very nice to have all these special things provided at least fir the first couple days.
There were board games provided and you could watch Hulu, Netflix, etc., if you had an account. We watched the new Matrix film!!!!!!
Televisions in all the rooms.
The cleaning company should clean the oven, we only made pizza one evening but it really needs to be cleaned. I noted it on our forms when we left. There were also old coffee grounds left in the coffee machine…no big deal…we cleaned them out, but the cleaning company should have checked. We also couldn’t get the dishwasher to clean our dishes, we ran the program 3 times but ended up doing them by hand. I’m sure they would have responded but we didn’t want to bother anyone….it was Christmas. We did note it on the forms when we left.
We had a good time and we would go back.

Amazing location and great house
Very well situated on Folly beach. I liked the layout of the deck and the screen in portion. The house was roomy and clean. I liked the fact that soap and paper products were provided is an easy to find Fashion. October was a great time to visit as it was quiet and the beach was lovely. I wish we could have stayed longer and would recommend this property to friends.

We really enjoyed our visit to Folly Beach. This home is spacious and perfect for a relaxing stay. It's not pretentious or fussy, and is perfectly comfortable and welcoming.

We didn't want to leave
For our family with six adults and four children this place right on the beach was perfect. We have stayed in Oregon and Maine and while each was special, this beach was the best in terms of swimming and playing in the water; being able to walk right out to the beach is unbelievable. House was great, tho since we are cooks, we bought and left a few cleaning supplies for the next guests. (And for cooks there are a few spices there.) Beds really comfortable, kitchen well equipped, staff at Folly's Best were great to work with--it was truly a perfect vacation.

Excellent location
The property was very spacious and accommodating. The location was private and provided quiet evenings. The stars and night from the balcony were amazing. As were the morning sunrises that we experienced. We had lots of fun playing the games and collecting seashells along the beach. We enjoyed good food at the Folly beach restaurants. Our Favorite Folly Beach House
We've rented a few different beach front houses on Folly Beach over the past several years for our annual late summer long weekend. We generally host about two to three couples - more fun with a small group! This was our first time renting this particular house - and it's a hit. It was spacious, clean, well-appointed, and comfortable for the six of us, plus one dog. Not over-decorated. The large deck is lovely - so close to the ocean - and with direct access to the beach. Definitely our favorite - and fully hope to book it again next year.

A Delightful Week at the Beach
Some major upkeep issues: water drip over door of front bedroom, very poor stove temperature of oven & front left burner did not ignite automatically. Broken chair legs on porch. Response to 0400 a.m. call re smoke alarm which would not shut off—“I’m an hour and a half away. Take out battery.”
Otherwise, even with the tropical storm we had a great time.

The perfect house & location
Our stay on Folly Beach was exactly what our family needed! It was the perfect house for all ages, beautifully appointed, with everything we needed. And Folly Beach towards the lighthouse is wonderfully secluded. We will definitely ask for this house again!

Flooded front yard after 2 days of rain 12” luckily we had higher suvs or would have damaged. Unable to reach cars without getting through water and senior citizen basically needed to be lifted. Floating walk was dangerous for older visitors. Would have appreciated it being pumped out as we saw neighbors being pumped out. Sink corroded and leaked through floor causing loss of use of a bathroom however maintenance was friendly and on time next am and fixed as fast as possible. Great view and roomier than pics. Most beds were comfortable. 35 charge to check in early was a first for any Vrbo that we have stayed in. Always has been a courteous offer when it was available, not charged.

Best time!
My 5 girlfriends and I were attending a women’s conference in Charleston and decided we wanted to relax st the beach while we were there. We could not have chosen a better property for our stay! This house was like a cottage on the beach which we all found so comfortable and cozy. The entire house was very clean. We absolutely loved the walk out of the back of the house onto the beach. The kitchen was well stocked with all of our needs. It just felt like we were all home except we were in a cozy house on a beautiful beach. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay!

Really pleasant canine-oriented beach trip
Very nice visit in a spacious, well-maintained dog friendly beach house. Particular highlights were comfortable common kitchen and living room area, very nice bed linens, comfortable deck with lots of chairs for chatting, walk out access to the beach, quiet area of Folly beach, and our pups. Our Labrador in particular had a great time in the ocean and entertained us all. We were a multigenerational bunch that very much enjoyed our chance to relax and catch up with relations.

Beach time
This is a very quietly located beach house and a few steps to the beach from the deck. Its perfect location for family and friends to spend together. You do need transportation to stores and restaurants at Folly which are about 5 minutes down the road. The house itself is well maintained and has everything you need for a week at the beach. We did us a rental company for beach chairs and umbrellas. The house reminded me of a cross between beach and mountain cabin. Yes I would choose this house again for the space, quietness and easy beach access.

Can’t get closer
The house is a winner!! Step out the door to a an expansive beach that’s great for riding bikes, playing frisbee or just taking in the horizon. The house is clean, comfortable and has plenty of room for families or friends —enjoyed the screen porch and decks.
