Just can’t beat the location of this property!

Perfect long weekend getaway for my wife and I in Del Mar. Carol was a wonderful host, chatted twice during our stay. House was cozy, location fantastic, no A/C but used fans at night were fine. Short walk to ocean, Board and Brew for a turkado sandwich, and drive to everything else. Hope to come back again in future years.

The location of the house can’t be beat. The beach was accessible via path down the cliffs and is a locals only beach (ie not crowded at all). The pictures of the house don’t do it justice. It is clean, efficiently laid out and welcoming. Would definitely stay there again.

Location, location, location ! With no AC it would be nice to have ceiling fans and/or portable fans to move the house air. Great house and location.

This was one of our multiple stays at this property which, when we visit family in San Diego, we choose to return to for its comfortable ambience, its ocean view from the living room and front outdoor sitting area, and its location about four houses down from clifftop walk overlooking the ocean and ten minute walk to beach.

Property was spotless! Perfect location close to the beach and all that Del Mar and Torrey Pines has to offer. We've stayed here previously and it never disappoints!

My family and I had a wonderful stay at this property. The house itself it charming and well stocked. The location is amazing. From the living room window and front yard you have an incredible view of the Pacific Ocean and some if the best sunsets you'll ever see. There's a reason that the neighbors all flock to the cliff tops and beach each evening to take in the breathtaking sunsets and scenery. The property is also centrally located, walkable to downtown restaurants and shops and a short drive to many family friendly beaches. The beach at the end of the street is beautiful and a popular destination for local surfers, though probably too difficult to reach with my 3 year old. My 7 year old however had no issues navigating the path down to the beach. We would gladly stay again.

Very cute original home in Del Mar with great views out the living room windows and front yard. Had everything we needed for our stay. Very comfortable and cozy. Would stay again!

Our second stay in this house in Del Mar was ruined by an unscrupulous deal arranged by Carol, the owner, with her brother next door, Will. While in San Diego, my son was injured in a sporting event. He, his wife, their 14-month-old, and I needed to stay longer for him to recuperate. Carol connected us to her brother next door, who was willing to rent to us at the last minute for a high nightly fee, with a steep deposit. We paid him by Zelle. The brother’s house was a mess. For example, power tools were lying on the floor in the bedroom, the fire alarm was beeping because the battery was dead, and when I pointed out that the staircase was unsafe, Will said, “just buy a 4 x 8 piece of plywood and drill it to the post.” We canceled before moving out of Carol’s, and asked for a refund. To date, Will still has not refunded the money, and Carol has not stepped in to make us whole. Turns out, WIll's house is also on VRBO, #313025. Buyer beware.

This is a friendly old house in a beautiful location. There is everything you could want in the house and nearby. Short walk to excellent restaurants. Would definitely stay again.

This was one of our multiple stays in this property which is our preferred site for visiting family in San Diego. We appreciate its views of the ocean, its location with proximity to beaches, and its quiet, peaceful setting.

My wife & I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. The majority of our time at the home was spent on the front patio soaking in the gorgeous ocean view. It is a great location and exactly what we had hoped for. Another positive was that we did have some questions about the property before our stay, and the homeowner was prompt & attentive in addressing our inquiries. The house interior was quaint, and we had no problems with the somewhat old-school-California feel. However, some things around the house either needed replacing (worn & rusty) or were silly cheap (i.e. lamps). We've stayed in several VRBO properties, and this one was below average with respect to general furnishings and decor. It's a shame, because it is a charming, million-dollar plus home, and it would not take much to make it a gem. Our other criticism of the home was that airflow within the house was not good...even with all of the windows (that weren't painted shut) opened. We were lucky that the weather was not too warm during our stay. I believe ceiling fans in the bedrooms would have helped immensely. Finally, getting in & out of the shower is tricky. If one has mobility issues, this could prove to be a real obstacle. I don't mean to be too harsh in my review of this property. Overall, it was welcoming, and we were very pleased with our stay. We appreciate that the owner has made it available for rent. We would certainly recommend the property to future prospective renters, but also want them to be aware of what to expect.

Cute, comfortable home including a lovely front patio with ocean view. Because the owners use it, it is well equipped and supplied. Everything is nicely organized including helpful hints for a good stay. Highly recommended.

Great location close to the ocean and all that Del Mar and Torrey Pines State Reserve have to offer. Carol was a wonderful host. The property was very clean and exactly as described. A wonderful stay by the beach!

Comfortable cottage with fantastic views

This was our third stay at this house - it is comfortable, quiet and relaxing, just down the street from cliff top overlooking the ocean, and a comfortable walk to the beach.

Cozy home in an amazing location!

Cozy and charming cottage on a quiet street a block from the ocean. You can't (or I couldnt) directly access the beach from there as it is quite steep. The surfers somehow negotiate with their boards though! Wonderful views from the ridge and access to the beach nearby. Owner was very responsive. Great place! lots to do in Del Mar and surrunding area.

Our stay here was great! The rooms are perfect, the view from the front patio is spectacular, the kitchen, though a bit old, is well equipped & easy to work in.

Greatly disappointed in our accommodations. Bed linens/mattress and pillow cover were stained, ie blood and whatever else it was? This house " cottage", is in dyer need of repair and general overall cleaning and painting. Appliances are very antiquated, outside grill unsafe to use due to RUST. The location is convenient to the beach and the view from the front patio area is correct as stated online, but that's where it ends. . .

The house was nice and very close to the sea. The sunset and ocean views from the house were stunning! The house was comfortable and we appreciated having the patio and fireplace specially for the evenings. The location is wonderful, close to the sea but also very close to restaurants. We would love to come back!

The house was fantastic for our San Diego stay. Close to the beach and and Del Mar restaurants. Easy access to to I-5 to get you to downtown. Quiet and wonderful neighborhood. Definitely will be back.

Great location, friendly owners! Comfortable Old Del Mar flat. Private patio with fireplace. Walking distance to everything. Beautiful sunsets from the front sitting area. We were mountain biking in the area and the owners offered local knowledge. All around great stay

Great little beach house on the bluffs of Del Mar, just perfect for our 2 week stay. House is clean and well equipped with beautiful views and gardens.
