This cabin was perfect for our family of five to use as a home base for exploring Acadia National Park! The kitchen was well stocked and provided what we needed to prepare our meals. The beds were all comfortable and the family rooms provided ample room for all of us to sit and read or play games. We didn't miss having AC as we would just open the windows at night when it cooled into the high 50s. We loved kayaking on the tidal cove and exploring it at low tide, and we saw porcupines on the property twice, which was pretty exciting! We enjoyed being on the "quiet side" and split our time pretty evenly between activities/hiking on the east and west sides. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again, and I would love to return since we hardly scratched the surface of all the beautiful island has to offer!

Cozy clean and private…away from the madding crowd. Right by the tidal inlet, which was wonderful, with kayaks for everyone!! Most wonderful place!! I highly recommend for anyone who wants to enjoy Acadia!

We had an absolutely fantastic experience during our stay at the Kingfisher cabin in Seal Cove. One standout feature of this rental is its access of multiple kayaks, allowing guests to effortlessly explore the Seal Cove and the surrounding shoreline. The property itself exudes an undeniable sense of magic, making it an ideal retreat for those seeking solace in nature. Furthermore, the owner is kind, sharing, and flexible. Highly recommend!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay right in the beauty of Mount Desert Island! The cabin was so homey and comfortable with everything we could need. The walking trails were fun to explore. We loved our time on the provided kayaks exploring the cove. Easy access to all of Mt Desert Island / Acadia without the need to go through the main entrance (so skipping the traffic.). Hosts were so helpful and gracious. Available when needed but didn’t hover at all either. Highly recommend. Can’t wait to go back!

Remote place to disconnect and close enough for discovering the island.

The cabin exceeded all of our expectations! It's very comfortable, well equipped, and perfectly located on the quiet side of MDI. We had a great week. We particularly enjoyed the wooded surroundings, the provided kayaks, the very well equipped kitchen, the comfortable beds, and, because of the cool evenings, the wood-burning stove. In addition to kayaking, we did a lot of hiking and biking in Acadia NP, for which all of the major trails are less than 20 minutes away. So glad we picked this place over something on the Bar Harbor side. A big thank you to Joan, who was an excellent host--friendly, responsive, and very helpful.

We spent a lovely New Year's week at the cabin. It's well furnished and cozy, and we got out for a few winter kayak trips and plenty of hikes in Acadia. Joan and the rest of the Alcyon staff are lovely and hospitable folks. If you're looking to spend some time off the trip and soak in all the Mount Desert has to offer, this is the place!

My wife and I spent a wonderful 3 days here, reading and exploring the cove and lesser doing known hikes. The cabin is exactly as advertised. Beds were comfortable, kitchen had everything needed. Perfect for quiet contemplation.

A beautiful location. The nearby cove and the secluded setting were ideal. The hosts were available without ever being intrusive. Definitely a more rustic setting, so if you’re looking for luxury appointments, this isn’t your place. But we loved it.

A lovely cabin! The rooms were comfortable for three adults, and we saw many beautiful birds on the property. Kitchen is well stocked with equipment for cooking and we found the cabin comfortable with heating and cooling. Make sure to play the games in the games closet!

We loved our time at the cabin and Joan and Kathryn could not have been better hosts. This place is a true gem and if you have the opportunity to stay here - take it! Not only did the humans love it, but our dog also gives it 4 paws up!

It was more amazing than we imagined! Instantly when we walked in we knew the bones of this cabin had Magick running through its walls. Highly recommended. Joan and Kathryn were so very nice - we will absolutely be back!

Joan was so helpful and accommodating. The cabin was set up for all our needs. The kitchen was equipped to prepare all our needs, and the woodstove was just the right touch. We will surely want to return later in the year. The trails and paths on the property are beautiful and peaceful. Thank you Joan for all you did to make this a great vacation journey for our family.

We had a wonderful time! Great place to get away from technology and just enjoy family time and peace and quiet. Cabin was super cozy and the stunning cove was just a short walk away. Very near the National Park. Our amazing hosts made sure all our needs were met, even though they were out of town. Thank you to Haela, as well!!!

Joan and Katherine were friendly and helpful and maintain an absolute gem of a property. The cabin is homey and comfortable (beds are great) and we very much enjoyed the wood stove. The many books and cozy living room made our winter sojourn delightful. Would return to stay again in a heartbeat.

The stay was really wonderful and relaxing because of the cozy cottage filled with everything you’d need for mind, body and spirit! And also because of the cove and trees and winding pathways and labyrinth! It was a simple process to rent and Joan and Kathryn were kind and welcoming. What a wondrous spot!

Very nice place and location. Excellent communication with Joan !

Joan was an excellent host. The cabin was made with love, with a nice wood stove and plenty of wood to keep it warm and cozy. There is decent connectivity on AT&T, but very limited if any on Verizon (in case you get desperate to check in with the world). The park is wonderful although the rangers can be a bit rude. Lots of good trails, views and coast line. Good place for dogs too!

Cabin was exactly as described, very clean, cute and a wonderful place to decompress and disconnect from all the social media. It is close to all the things to see and do at Acadia national park. It has a fire pit that I wish we would have been able to get to. Lovely place to sit and view the water and wildlife. Joan was there to greet us and give us all the instructions for the cabin. She is excellent giving recommendations and easy to get in touch with. If I make it back to Maine I will definitely stay here again.
