We had a great time at this spacious property - lots of places to gather- especially the porch overlooking the river. And best of all - a whole-house generator that came on as soon as the power went out for Hurricane Lee. The owner was kind with answers to all our questions.

The house was exactly as described and was the perfect location for exploring the Boothbay area. Everything was perfect! Thank you, Ralph!

Overall, we’d come back. The location is private and quiet with some great glimpses of the river through the trees. There’s plenty to do within 30 minutes of the place. We had 8 adults and one toddler and we felt comfortable in the space. Kitchen was well equipped. 2 reasons I give 4 instead of 5 stars: 1. The walk down to the dock could be a little less treacherous (1 step was missing but even if that was there, it’s still pretty steep and when it’s wet, it can be slippery getting down there but the rope to hold onto is appreciated)…2. The main deck has webbing on the bottom half. We were still concerned about our toddler being around the railing and would suggest extending the webbing all the way to the rail. There’s no webbing on the master bedroom patio. A gate on the main deck would also be nice to keep the kids and dogs contained while outdoors. If those improvements were made, this listing is definitely 5 stars. The host was accommodating when one of the guests decided to bring their dog with short notice so that was also appreciated.

We had a great time on our family vacation. The house was spacious and there was plenty of room to spread out. The sunroom was a favorite spot. So quiet and relaxing!

Very nice. A step was missing to the stairs going down a rather treacherous path to the wonderful dock. We were from sc and used to air conditioning and we did not realize the house had none. He did provide fans which helped and the few days we were there the weather was hot and humid

What an incredible property. It was raining for a few days but we still had a wonderful time. The view is soothing and majestic. We brought kayaks and saw bald eagles, herons and seals. We didn’t catch a fish but we sure had fun trying on the dock. The open format of the kitchen and living room made it so nice to spend time together while preparing meals. We just loved our trip here!

This property is truly like being in a storybook (or Hallmark movie). Breakfast was prepared in the gorgeous kitchen each morning and enjoyed on the full deck that overlooks the river. There were plenty of bedrooms, two with views of the river (one of my favorite things about staying here is the awe of waking up to those views), the house is laid out so it was easy to visit. We grilled one night for dinner and it was really nice that the supplies for grilling were already provided. There is also a really nice breezeway with seating and a telescope for star gazing. We also enjoyed an outdoor fire one night. The property and area were not only beautiful, but there was so much to do and enjoy, plus the people are really friendly! A truly wonderful experience for our first time in ME.

Such a comfortable home. Well equipped and lots of room for a family. Very peaceful and quite. Perfect place to just chill and enjoy family. (Plenty of places to go and things to do if you wish). Property manager was friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend the home.

This property is awesome. The view of the river was so beautiful. My mother is handicapped and we had no trouble getting her in to the house or out on the porch. Ralph was a wonderful host and was ready to answer any questions. Other than a small ant problem in the downstairs bathroom, everything was excellent. I would definitely recommend staying here!

Easy check-in and nice home

Absolutely beautiful views in a secluded and spacious home. This property with its dock and open concept living space was the perfect spot for a mini-reunion for a friend's wedding.

My family of 10 had a extremely happy reunion in this beautiful home on the shore of the Sheepscot. Great layout for a family gathering. Kitchen very well equipped. Comfortable mattresses. Great views from the deck. Thrilling place to swim off of the very large dock. Wonderful spot from which to commune with nature. Thank you so much to the host with whom we could easily communicate.

Lovely home and amazing view down to the river. The house worked well for our party of 4 adults and 2 kids with room to spare. We enjoyed walking down to the dock to see the river and seeing all the buoys. Kitchen had everything we needed.

Overall a wonderful place to vacation. Nice Views from deck & most rooms. Spacious home. Walkway to water is pretty steep. Dock is nice. Suggestions- need dark curtains in upstairs bedrooms. It gets light early! Put a queen bed & single bed in downstairs bedroom (instead of two singles).

Several friends and I very much enjoyed the property as we gathered for an extended birthday weekend. Ralph was incredibly responsive and accommodating, and the property was very well stocked for everything we needed, including a great ice maker, grilling supplies, and wood for a fire in the woodstove on a cool evening.

Booked this for a large family getaway and the property and amenities were exactly as we hoped for, beautiful natural setting and a peaceful environment!

We had the absolute best time for Thanksgiving with our family...the owner went above and beyond and he is so kind and caring....what a beautiful house with everything you could possibly need and more...we will definitely be back..

We had a blast. All 8 of stayed in this house. We ate as friends and family. We played games at night and had gone sight seeing during the day. This house provided a great place for all of us to come come back and relax and continue bonding and making memories.

We stayed at Ralph's place as a family of 6 to explore the Downeast area. The location was perfect – not far at all from Wiscasset, Boothbay Harbor, Bath, and even Portland is an easy drive. Ralph was very communicative during our whole stay and helped us with a few minor issues/questions we had during our stay. And the house was a comfortable size for all 6 of us, we even could have fit a few more. I will say we had a few small complaints. 1) The kitchen is not as well stocked as we expected. Since we cooked most of our own meals this was a problem to work around. 2) There were some places in the home that could have been cleaner – I.e. pet hair on the rugs/carpet, didn't look like the vacuum had been run in corners/underneath beds, etc. Overall it was adequate and fit the bill for our needs but we weren't over the moon. However this might still be a great place for those who have pets or aren't doing as much cooking as we were!

Super nice VRBO with the view, the ample space to find a quiet nook, and the beautiful setting. Overall a delightful time for my family as we found time to reconnect during my daughter's wedding weekend.

Have been renting homes on the VRBO site for many years. Most of the homes were very nice - but this home is GREAT. Even though the photos give the viewer the real appearance of this home - it is not until you see it in person that you realize how lucky you were in renting it. (Of all the homes rented, this is the very first home my wife said how beautiful the house is.) If you are looking for cleanliness, spacious, plenty of bedrooms, bathrooms, and updated, this is IT. One could easily tell the house is well maintained. We were pleased we had the opportunity to meet the owner of the property who is a true gentleman. We look forward to renting this home again next year.

Great house on beautiful piece of property. The view out of back of house overlooking tidal channel with lobster pots and boats can’t be any greater. House is clean, well stocked and in a great location to get to many great harbors in the area. Will come back hopefully in the future. Also, Ralph, the owner, was great to correspond with and was always available if we had any questions or concerns.

Our extended family (7 adults, ages 31-60) had a wonderful time and enjoyed our stay immensely. The layout of the house is condusive to hanging out together as a group but also has plenty of room and spaces for folks to spread out. The house is well stocked (bed linens and towels, kitchen supplies, washer and dryer, grill and charcoal, firepit, movies, etc.), and though we had no issues, Ralph is a very gracious host and checked in with us by phone twice during our stay. The dock has just been replaced and is lovely. If you are traveling with young children or anyone with mobility issues, please note the pathway to the dock would be challenging given the incline and uneven terrain (wooden steps, rocks, and tree roots). We had a great time and would recommend this property to others!
