We enjoyed our stay in the Plantation. The house is beautifully located with an easy private beach access. It has great areas with large tables inside and out to gather and spend time playing games, dining and just sitting enjoying the beach views. The pool is a really nice asset. We met our adult kids and enjoyed the beach, played lots of Pickleball and spent time biking, etc. The only issue we had was the first evening checking in due to housekeeping and linen service being very delayed. Otherwise, we had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend The Reel Deal.

The house and Gulf front location with a large pool was perfect for our family. The large FR, breakfast bar, dining table (hard to find) & 3 BR + loft bunk beds accommodated all of us comfortably. For our next beach vacation, I’m sure we will be back.

This beautiful home has the perfect view of the ocean. It was spacious, had everything you need in the well stocked kitchen and decorated beautify. Loved seeing pictures of the Stark family in their beach home. The pool was enjoyed by everyone when we were not on the beach. We hope to return in 2024! We have vacationed at The Plantation for many years, as it’s our favorite place to visit. This property had cleanliness issues and roach issues upon arrival. Mr. Stark offered to send housekeeping back but by then, we already had swept, vacuumed, thrown sheets and towels in dryer to finish drying, and wiped down the kitchen. He said the house was sprayed for bugs monthly but offered to send service back out. We didn’t want an interruption of our vacation and if it was “just sprayed,” what was the point? He asked me to send pictures. I sent pictures of roaches, food, dirt, and hairballs in the floor, and more. When I initially booked months ago, I saw where pets were allowed but I didn’t see where to mark that we were bringing pets. All the rentals before, this was listed next to how many adults/children to include. Then it was calculated into total. So I accidentally failed to pay pet deposit. Mr. Stark called me today, 3 days after getting back from vacation, telling me I owe $500 for the pet fee. I asked for a discount since we had to clean the house. He refused. Minutes later, he sent me an email saying that if I give him a 5 star review, then I can pay only $400 and he would give me 5% off my next stay. Thanks for that but we won’t be returning. So here is your 5 star review, Mr. Stark, and your $400 check for the pet fee is in the mail. Again, my mistake, I own that.

Loved the ability to park under the house and keep our cars cool. Home was very clean. Plenty of seating in open main floor for relaxing and eating. Beach was marvelously uncrowded. Great outdoor spaces.

A “Reel Deal” at St. George Island surpassed all of our expectations. This beautiful house had plenty of room and was just steps away the ocean. The privacy of The Plantation, location of the house and great fishing were some of the things that we loved. The house was very clean and had everything we needed. It was nice to not have to wait hours to eat at a restaurant and endure heavy traffic in a crowded beach area. We can’t wait to go back!

Beautiful property! My family and I thoroughly enjoyed the beach front view, the pool, and great biking paths in the area (just outside the door). Gordon was super responsive and great to work with! You see his beautiful family displayed throughout the house which makes it even more special. Highly Recommend!!

This property was perfect. The back porch integrates nicely into the beach which was not heavily populated. The heated pool in the fall was great. Ambient lighting at night made it a perfect location for star gazing. The Plantation side of St George Island was very secluded and had a lot of walking and biking opportunities. Will definitely be visiting again.

We had an amazing week on beautiful St. George Island. The home is in a perfect location, accommodated six adults perfectly allowing us all our own bit of privacy. The pool is larger than most private home pools and we definitely enjoyed it. It would be nice if there had been some lighting for night swimming. All in all we had a great vacation.

We were a group of 3 couples and a sweet teenager gathering for our annual beach vacation and celebrating 2022 milestones - we had high hopes for a memorable time and A Reel Deal exceeded all expectations! We were delighted right from the arrival - the beautiful Plantation, this spacious and bright beach home, its location on an uncrowded and serene beachfront, and the stunningly star-filled night skies. We loved being super-close to the shoreline and enjoyed surf side dinners nightly on the porch while the dolphins splashed and played. The entire home is so well-appointed and the kitchen is equipped for any meal you can imagine. The whole-property speaker system added wonderful ambiance to the pool, deck, and the spacious living area. We even had a wonderful experience helping to rescue a couple of sea turtle hatchlings to the sea with the Gloria from the Turtler Patrol. We loved the daily bike rides throughout the bike paths (Gordon has arranged a discount with Jolly Rogers rentals - quick delivery and great rates!). We highly recommend grabbing that pizza from BJ’s on your way to check in - very satisfying after a long drive! Gordon was excellent to partner with prior and throughout our visit - informative, attentive, and quick to respond to any question or situation. We look forward to our return the beautiful St George Island and A Reel Deal - thank you, Gordon, for a special time!

We had a wonderful time! The home was beautiful and the beach was amazing for our group of 11. Gordon was very responsive and a great host! We'd love to come back!

We had a wonderful stay here. It was our first time in the plantation and it was great. Very close to beach, lots of dolphins. Very nice. My ONLY complaint (and it really isn’t a complaint) would be the bed in the upstairs master was too hard for my old body. We had others to choose from so wasn’t a problem at all. If you could please everyone all the time about everything what a wonderful world we would live in. Our stay really was great.

We had a wonderful and relaxing anniversary trip. The house is gorgeous and very nicely decorated. The kitchen is well equipped and spacious. The views of the sunrises and sunsets were breathtaking. We also enjoyed floating in the pool. This house would be great for a family. The owner, Gordon, was in touch throughout our stay and that was nice. I highly recommend this property.

The location of this property can't be beat! We enjoyed coffee on the porch every morning, with a warm breeze and surf lapping up on the beach. We loved having the brightness of all the windows during the day, and being able to see the ocean from multiple vantage points. The sound of the waves put us to sleep every night, and we all slept hard, which was easy to do since the beds were so comfy. My husband and I walked the Plantation property every morning; I confess I'd not done a lot of research, and we felt very lucky to be inside a gated community for that purpose. It was very quiet there, and the layout of the house suited us perfectly. I loved having the two master bedrooms, so the adults had comfort and privacy, and the kids LOVED the bunk room and having their own space there. The pool was pristine (and the poolkeeper came while we were there, too!), and trash pickup twice during our visit was fantastic. Gordon was easy to get in touch with, and patient with my myriad questions. We got dinner from BJ's pizza (okay), stopped at the Blue Parrot after an outing to the military museum in Carrabelle (museum and food both very good), and had ice cream at Aunt Ebby's (portions are huge - get a single scoop!). Mostly we cooked in, and while groceries are expensive compared to home, there was sufficient availability of everything that you'd need right on the island. Cooking equipment in the house was plentiful, so no problems there. We ordered a cake (from Goldbelly) for my MIL's birthday, too, and UPS dropped it off right at the door, so nice to know that delivery is available. Overall, a perfectly calming and relaxing vacation, exactly what we'd hoped for!

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at A Reel Deal!! The view was breathtaking. I felt we could not get any closer to the beach. It was amazing. We will definitely be staying here again! Thank you Gordan Stark!

We came down for a family vacation the second week of August (8 adults) and could hardly have had a better time. Everything was as expected, and more. The house is literally right on the shoreline, and we enjoyed the routine of the beach earlier in the day and the pool later in the afternoon and evening. Well away from city lights, we saw stars that we don't regularly see, as well as the light shows from distant thunderstorms, which seemed to pop up most evenings. We saw pods of dolphins just off the shoreline most days. With the beach and the pool, the view and the overall setting, we had all we needed at the house, and yet everything else we needed in the business district on the center of the Island. We also had no problems with Internet connectivity. Gordon checked up by text from time to time. If you are looking for a more quiet setting, away from the crowds, then this is your place. We will be back.

The owner of the property was very nice. He made sure we where able to get in the property and made sure we had everything we needed. Would rent again.

Needs a little TLC. Shower head missing in Jack n Jill bathroom. Kitchen cabinets need organized and cleaned. Tub in upstairs master needs mildew removed. Home is beautiful and Gordon provide a quick and painless check in process.

The Reel Deal was the perfect setting for our annual family beach trip. The views from the house were breathtaking. The short walk to the beach, quiet surroundings, and location made this the perfect getaway for six adults and three toddlers. There was plenty of room for gathering and privacy when needed. We enjoyed family meals indoors and outside on the porch. Can’t wait to do it all over again!

The location and "on the beach" experience was great. Having a pool at that time of year was a wonderful addition. The layout is very flexible and accommodating. Nice bathrooms. All of the houses on the island seem to be up in the air for FEMA compliance and hurricane protection. Being up means stairs, but it also tremendously enhances the views. Our only negative was in the pots and pans category, as they were not in good shape, and we love to cook. I am sure it is difficult to maintain them adequately with the fact that some renters are conscientious and others not. We conveyed this comment to the owner and he was appreciative and planned on improving them. Shower and hose to wash off the sand and salt was well placed and easy to use. Grill was also convenient and of good quality in the garage where it was not in the wind but had plenty of ventilation. Definitely recommend St George Island for a getaway. The owner was very knowledgeable and helpful in recommending resources on the island.

We had a wonderful time at the Reel Deal! We loved being right on the beach with our 1yr and 3yr old sons! House is very nice and Gordon was very easy to reach and took care of any issues immediately! Loved it and definitely want to come back! I would highly reccomend this place!

We had a lovely Thanksgiving week at this property. It is clean, well appointed, spacious, and easy to enjoy! it worked perfectly for our family of 3 couples and 1 infant. Gordon is kind and communicative! We will definitely book again!

This property is spacious with every amenity you need. The beach and view are beautiful. You literally are steps to the beach. The owner touched base frequently and was so helpful.

This is a very nice, right on the beach, property. The house is large, with an open floor plan. The upstairs loft area is perfect for older kids and teens. We really enjoyed the pool, which is thankfully shaded during parts of the day (morning and very late afternoon). The kitchen has a lot of supplies and plenty of dishes. Please be aware that check in could be delayed, apparently due to covid. We weren't made aware of the check in time moving from 4:00 to 6:00 until we pulled up to the house at 3:50 (via a text sent to us at 3:00 that same day). This was certainly frustrating, especially when it got to be 8PM and the cleaning service still hadn't arrived (the previous guests might be the most filthy people on the planet, though that's not the owner's fault. It did, however, make cleaning the place ourselves quite an unpleasant task at the end of a long drive). Our party ended up cleaning the house ourselves, and after a little going back and forth with the owner, we were refunded the cleaning fee, plus a refund for 5 hours worth of the rental fee. Hopefully this was just a one off situation. The owner does provide his cell phone #, which is handy.

This house was inviting, spacious, comfortable and the area an views are AMAZING. We chose it for the location and the VIEWS. Does not disappoint. Woke up every morning to see the sunrise, step out of the house and walk the beach, either direction for a full 4 miles round trip. Dolphins decided to make the water in front of the house a regular surfacing spot! Water and sand could not be more beautiful and the pool was lovely for something different! All that you could want and more, wanted to stay forever!! We already planned for next year. Love the REEL Deal!

This was a perfect house to tuck into during COVID because it still allowed us to easily socially distance from others. Another reason to love SGI! The house is directly on the beach and has a huge pool too. Bluetooth speakers on the deck and in the pool area were a really nice extra feature. Property owner was engaged and friendly. Great house!
