Our last visit to Barbados was 13 years ago and we wondered why it had taken us so long to return! This is a wonderful, extremely spacious and comfortable house very close to stunning Gibbs beach. The beach is quiet with fantastic swimming. An easy, short walk to get there. The landscaping at the Claridges complex is beautiful and the gardens are so well kept. Lovely to have such a big shared pool and our own loungers just outside the house. Barbados is such an easy place to visit and relax. Recommend the nearby Seashed restaurant. Good to book this and other restaurants in advance of arrival as they can get busy. We hope to visit again one day. Thank you

The short version is this - if you can stay at Claridge's, do it. When you arrive at the gates that lead to the courtyard, you will suspect you’ve found a special piece of paradise. When you enter the villa, the craftsmanship evident throughout will confirm that suspicion. When you pass through the living room to the outdoor lounge, along the garden path, and arrive at the pool area, you will know - with certainty - that you are in paradise. After a stroll to the beach, you’ll wonder why you hesitated! Claridges offers an exceptional experience. We had the privilege of a 7-week stay and that time allowed us to see the good and bad of the home and the location. There’s a lot of good; the villa offers all of the comforts of home. Minor issues were addressed immediately by the owners - and we only had minor things pop up. For example, an alarm sensor came loose and caused a beeping sound on the alarm panel. The owners had someone there within a couple of hours to fix it, and they did. The location is perfect, sandwiched between Holetown and Speightstown. The stroll to Gibbes beach is barely long enough to be called a stroll! To have arguably the best beach on the island within 3-4 mins away, and the best towns on the platinum coast a few mins drive in either direction, makes this place hard to beat on the location front. It’s possible to stay here without a car, but having a car makes things easier. Parking is safe and secure. The development offers plenty of space for relaxation in the sun or the pool. The developer’s original vision of each home having that privacy is achieved in part by a great design, but also by the great work of the grounds team. Every day they ensure the foliage is just so, and not an impediment to the enjoyment of guests. The grounds and pool are maintained to a very high standard. As an island destination, Barbados is difficult to beat. As a place to stay anywhere, Claridges is very difficult to beat. You will not regret a stay at this villa.

Beautiful property in quiet setting with great pool, yet just a few minutes walk from Seashed and Gibbes beach and a few minutes drive to Holetown or Speightstown. Location couldn’t be better

The villa sits amongst 10 villas in total in a beautiful setting with a pool that is bigger enough to do lengths of 25m; most days we had the pool to ourselves. Overall an amazing Villa that provided us with a truly great holiday. Can’t recommend the villa highly enough!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this villa. On our second stay in as many years, the villa still offered us the comfortable, low-key luxury that pleased us so much the first time. The owners, Phillipa and Michael were, as ever, easy to work with and quick to respond. I have already recommended this villa to a friend. Looking forward to a return trip.

Our family of 5 (3 teenagers) loved this beautiful property! It was quiet, spacious, clean, and so comfortable. Such a lovely touch to have food and drinks in the fridge upon our arrival. Lorraine, who met us at the condo, was so helpful and even drove us to the grocery store as we had a mix-up with our car rental. We made excellent use of the beautiful pool and played cards in the gazebo most nights! A car is necessary and it is a short drive to Holetown and Speightstown, as well as some great restaurants and beaches. Gibbs beach is just a short walk from the condo. Thank you Pippa and Michael for being so responsive and helpful. We had a wonderful holiday.

Such a pleasure to stay at such a well appointed house with its excellent layout style and decor.3 large bedrooms all with ensuite walking wardrobe and air conditioning and fan.Ground floor was well thought out for a party of 6 or more with ample dining in and al fresco as well as two lounge areas.This all led onto the large pool with plenty of sun beds and a wonderful gazebo for lovely evenings drinking a cool sun downer.The property benefited from a quite but convenient location for walking to the beach and large electric gates for sercurity.I would happily return to this property again again and felt it offered everything you could need for a relaxing holiday.

It was clean, beautiful, and spacious. The housekeeping and gardening staff were so nice. We felt that someone would help us immediately if we had any concerns. I would stay here again if I ever make it back to beautiful Barbados. Thank you!

Our family (two boys, age 11 and 13) had a wonderful stay at Claridges, one of our best family vacations to date. The villa was superb. It was well maintained, very comfortable and had a great floor plan. The kitchen, living room and outdoor living area worked so well for our family. Just steps from our patio was a spectacular pool where we spent much of our day. Although the pool is shared by the other villas (5 buildings/10 units total), most of the time we had it to ourselves. The quality and size of the pool is more on par with what you would expect at a high end resort, not a small group of villas. The development was well laid out with lush vegetation separating each unit, providing good privacy. The grounds were very well kept and created an oasis. Gibbs beach is literally 300 steps away and is probably one of the nicest (and quietest) beaches on Barbados. On the far right hand side of the beach there is actually a nice reef to go snorkeling with an excellent variety of fish. Claridges is located close to both Holetown and Speightstown which both offer excellent restaurants and Mullins Bay is literally just around the corner. Michael, the owner and developer, was great and made sure everything met our needs. I am sure we will return to Barbados and we would only want to stay at Claridges.

I'm happy to say that our experiences mirrored many of those mentioned by previous reviewers. The owners, Pippa and Michael, were friendly and accommodating - almost as if we were friends borrowing their guest cottage. They were accessible if we had any questions but otherwise left us in peace. We greatly appreciated the starter kit of breakfast supplies and snacks they provided so we were able to start our vacation on a relaxing note rather than having to run errands. The villa itself is well laid out and contains quality furnishings designed for maximum comfort. The pool is big enough for swimming laps and its design definitely gives off a resort vibe with the gazebo and waterfall. The location on the west coast, steps from lovely, quiet Gibbs's Beach, is a quick drive to restaurants and shops in nearby towns. We will look no further when booking accommodations for a return trip to Barbados.

We had a wonderful stay. The villa was very nice and in a great location. It was an easy walk with kids to the closest beach and a short drive to others. The pool was great for kids and adults and also clean. The property was well maintained. We would definitely stay again.

Immaculately clean, beautiful villa!! In a great location close to beautiful beaches, restaurants and more. Pippa was a pleasure to deal with and left us a little welcome package of groceries to get us started. It's hard to believe but the Villa is even more stunning in person than in the pictures! We would definitely recommend this Villa and would love to come back soon!

The villa is fantastic. It is in amazing condition, is spacious and is quiet. It's as exactly as the pictures show. The pool is beautiful and it's a few minute walk to a fantastic beach. It's also a short drive to Holetown and Spreightstown. The owners are even better though. Our flight got canceled and we were rebooked on one that was suppose to arrive in Barbados at 3 AM. Michael and Pippa agreed to get up in the middle of the night to let us in!! They went above and beyond this though. They also left us breakfast food in the refrigerator so we would have food when we woke up.

My husband and I, along with our 1 year old son were first timer's to Barbados, my parents had been to the island before, but this was our first stay at the beautiful Claridges and it couldn't have been a better base for our wonderful holiday. Even prior to our arrival Pippa was extremely accommodating in helping us arrange extra items for our young son such as a cot and a highchair, giving us the personal touch from the outset. When we arrived at the complex Pippa was there to welcome us and ensured we were comfortable with the villa and familiar with all the necessaries like security, air con and facilities. The villa itself was as stunning as the pictures portray, it was immaculately presented and well equipped with all a family may need, with everything from kitchen utensils and linens to pool toys and sun creams. The gardens and pool area were equally well maintained and cleaned daily by extremely friendly staff. The complex is ideally located between Mullins Bay, Holetown and Spieghtstown offering a wide choice of restaurants, shops and bars. Even with such a lovely secluded pool area to enjoy there is also the breath taking Mullins beach less than a 5min walk down a quiet road. We very much enjoyed taking a stroll down to the beach for some snorkelling before lunch either at the amazing Mullins café (great for lunch or dinner) or back on our private shaded patio. I highly recommend this villa and I am very confident the owners will do all they can to make your stay one to remember.

Our family of 5 (3 teenagers) spent a relaxing Christmas holiday at The Claridges. A heartfelt thank you to Pippa & Michael for making our vacation 5 STAR in every way. A personally guided welcome tour of the residence and grounds upon our arrival, followed by regular check ins to ensure we were comfortable and finding everything we needed (restaurants, grocery stores, excursions & more), Pippa & Michael went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our stay, not just at The Claridges, but on the island. The residence was just as pictured, very well decorated, outfitted and maintained. The spacious living room opened up to a second outdoor living space which was ideal for a family who likes to spread out! The 3 bedrooms, each with their own luxurious ensuite and huge closet space were all very private and each one felt like a master suite. Towels and linens were plentiful in supply and very good quality. The television, wifi and phone service were all fully operational and much appreciated. The mature grounds are beautifully manicured and maintained, the pool is sparkling clean and the staff on site are most accommodating and cheerful (thank you Amanda for your attention to detail in cleaning our villa!). Honestly, what you see is what you get. Any questions or concerns were dealt with immediately and the only surprises were of the pleasant sort! The beach was a very short walk (less than 5 minutes), just long enough to shake off the sand! And there was a comfortable reassurance about returning to a gated location with a fully operational security system (not that we used it, but it was nice to have the option). Pippa had made several booking for us, giving us confidence that we were with the right companies, in the right restaurants, to make our vacation memorable. Silver Moon catamaran tour was a lovely outing, with fewer passengers than other catamarans, it gave us a more relaxing tour, quieter, but still with the same experience of swimming with the turtles and touring the coastline. We highly recommend dinner at The Cliff (my favourite!), Cin Cin and The Lone Star. And for more casual fare an afternoon or evening at Mullins Beach Bar (mmmm fish cakes!), Santés or JuJu's is great. However, most of our days were spent by the pool or on Gibbs Beach just across the street from our villa. I must say that beach was the best swimming, strolling and coral collecting location. We'll be back!
