Third summer in a row renting this house. Great host, great location.

Very comfortable

The house was great, especially since it has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. However, there are some areas that need attention. The hall bathroom had mold on the shower curtain. The front door is difficult to close, and the pots and pans were in very bad shape. The stove did not have a low setting on the burners and it was hard not to burn food.

We as a group really enjoyed our stay. The pros are there is a lot of beds for everyone. Also the boat dock is great. The cons were that the shower curtains in the bath need to be changed. (They have mold on them) They need to get a different system for getting people pass the guard shack after 10pm. (That was a pain in the a**) The last thing is there were two animals up stair in the attic in the middle of the night, that my friends described as two raccoons fighting to the death. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

We had a group 5, who stayed at the house and more than enough room. Great location to Uwharrie. Fantastic outdoor area and patio and fire pit would definitely stay again.

My family spent the weekend at this property. Check in at the gate should have been easy since our information was left with guard but we waited for awhile and then began to use the key pad as directed by the sign on the office door. After several attempts at following gate directions giving to me and not gaining entry to the neighborhood ; the guard finally came out to assist me. We enjoyed the drive through the beautiful neighborhood to the rental property. The house was spacious enough for our group of 8 however it's in need of some repair and was not clean prior to our stay. Bathtubs and showers had hair and dirt in them along with moldy shower curtains. Kitchen counters weren't clean and there were very limited dish soap, paper towels and trash bags .The cobwebs were impressive throughout the house as well and the kitchen pots still had dried egg in them from previous guests. The plumbing has some issues too. The weather was perfect ! We spent a lot of time outdoors in the backyard. The lake access was great. We enjoyed the fire pit and the grilling deck . We were perplexed with us being the guest having to take bags of garbage from the property to a community bin about a 10 min drive from the house upon check out. We felt that would be something the cleaning company would be responsible for and part of the cleaning fee we paid. Our host was great with communication and we were very thankful they accommodated our early check in request. Over all the house served its purpose for our quick getaway......

House has a great lay out. Beautiful dock fire pit area and porches. Host was very responsive. House was dirty. Cobwebs everywhere. Hair in bathrooms. Trash and other items found in couch cushions. Moldy coffee grinds in coffee pot. Moldy shower curtain liner. Trash in upper bath trash can. Deck worn out, slippery and unsafe. Master toilet seat loose. Downstairs toilet flapper needed adjusted after each use. Has so much potential just needs lots of TLC.

Instead of hotels this busy weekends for a group of dances moms, we opted to rent a house on the lake with plenty of room for all, unfortunately weather was not on our side to enjoy the lake, the house was very nice and cozy, our girls were able to bunk all together and our host were very accommodating, thank you again

This is our second time renting this property and our family thoroughly enjoyed it. Our host and hostess paid attention to every detail. It was perfect in a quiet neighborhood setting on a lake. Would definitely recommend it!!

The house was located in a beautiful community and perfect for our family members to stay in while attending a wedding in the Mt. Gilead area that weekend. The house could use a good professional cleaning (ceiling fans, floors, shower curtain, downstairs stairwell, dusting).

Beautiful home! Our daughter got married at the Stoney Mountain Vineyard and we had out of town family coming in. This house was perfect for all of us. Janet was very quick and accommodating to last minute changes. I would highly recommend them. Thank you again Janet!

The house was perfect, clean just like the pictures on VRBO. The amenities are great. Plenty of room for privacy if needed. The owner gave us great instructions and was very easy to get ahold of them. The fire pit out back was great for evening cocktails after a long day.

My family and I stayed here for a local wedding, and we love the home and property. It was perfect for our family of 10. There’s plenty of space, and it’s very peaceful with gorgeous views of the lake. It could use a good, thorough cleaning, but otherwise it was perfect for us. Janet was very helpful with communication, and we had no trouble getting onto the property at Midnight after the wedding. We would definitely stay again!

The family had a great time staying at your lake house. The house had more than enough room for our family of 10 and the dock was the best of anywhere else we have stayed. The host’s instructions for check-in were great but we decided not to try out the “coming in after 10” gate instructions. We hope to come back next year.

After having to cancel our annual family vacation for 2 years, we were so excited to find a house that would accommodate our large family. To say the house needs a deep clean is an understatement. When we opened the front door there was a q-tip against the baseboard, a screw fell out of the front door handle and the glass door was barely hanging on. And the lack of cleanliness just got worse. The oven did not work the first night but the owners were prompt in addressing this. I am not sure they really know how badly this residence needs cleaning. The dock, boat slips, and swimming area were perfect. If only the cleanliness of the interior of the house was as perfect. Very disappointing as this house has such amazing potential and fit the needs of our family perfectly.

Spacious. Two living areas for separation of a large group. Nice that each bedroom has it's own bathroom. Kitchen was set up well. Needed bar stools. Only 8 places to sit for meals. Sleeps 14 but doesn't provide places to eat for a group that large. Lots of steps to get to the lake. Nice there was a community boat ramp and swimming pool. We had a great time

This house had everything we needed. There is plenty of parking for vehicles and boats.

This was a beautiful property that needs TLC. Our 4th of July reservation was made one year in advance because of the advertised upper dock great for jumping into the deep water- our kids were stoked about it. But the day before we arrived, the owner notifies us the "upper dock has been closed, please do not use it for safety reasons." That crushed my kids and us as the parents. The posting has been updated to say the dock is closed but I'm not sure when that was (I didn't notice it while sharing the link) and I would have greatly appreciated to know that a headline feature was no longer available-I would have rented elsewhere. Then within hours of arriving my husband was stung multiple times by ground wasps under the wooden walkway to the dock- his foot was swollen/painful the entire trip. The owner sent wasp spray and Benadryl - we sprayed the wasp nest the following morning. The upstairs master bed had no pillows (only the decorator ones), the mattress squeaked, shower dripped, and toilet ran all night- we moved into the "boys sailor room” and had restful remaining nights. The propane tank was missing from the BBQ so the 4th of July cook out was not possible unless we wanted to leave and purchase a new tank (was told by the owner's husband we'd be reimbursed.) I started wondering about the electrical system after discovering on my own (no reply from owner) that the dishwasher didn't work unless you had the light switch turned on. The tennis courts (advertised) were locked. There are raised nails on the steps leading to the dock that were always a concern with kids and an impaired foot walking over. The last disappointment was getting locked out of the gated community at 6pm, car full of kids, groceries and NC rainstorm coming. It was stated that the Guard Attendant would be stationed up to 10pm. At 6pm there’s no attendant but a sign saying closed and to use the keypad to call your host. We used the keypad and called the host/owner. The owner did not answer, and no voicemail was set up. I had the owner’s husband’s # from when he contacted me about the wasps, so I called him. He told me to call her- she's got her phone… This was just one stressful and disappointing event after another. We’ll not choose this property again. With some investment into the property I know it will once again be a great vacation rental.

From start to finish, a great trip. Booked early, got our dates! 13 people were houses comfortably! Kitchen fully furnished. Lines for bed and bath! Check in, check out was very easy. The area was lovely. Able to dock 2 boats with ease.some of our family had stayed here previously. They stayed with us on this trip, and are staying here in August with another side of their family! I’d say three stays should say it all!

I read all the reviews before renting this property. I wish I had given more attention to Lisa C’s review on June 12, 2020. She described the house as “worn and dirty”. She could not have been more correct, and two years later I can report it to be even more worn and dirty. I will say since her review, the lower dock has been completely resurfaced. I also disagree with her review of the cove, we loved it. But she was spot on with the house. On the positive: the house is big and has a nice floor plan for multiple families. The lower dock is very spacious and allows for multiple boats/jet skis, the cove is very large, deep water, easy to float/swim off the dock. It is easy to access the main channel from the dock. The upper location on the lake of this house is good because the waters are not as busy in this area. On the negative: the house is extremely worn and was not clean. I will not go into detail. I contacted the owners, and we have communicated several times about our differences in expectations. Bottom line, if cleanliness and upkeeps inside and on porches are important to you, do not rent this house. If you want to be able to completely forget about these things and just want a big open space that is great for groups to not have to worry about tip-toeing around, then this rental is perfect. For my family, as Lisa C said two years ago, the level of wear and tear was unacceptable. To each their own! I will say the owners were quick to respond, except to my last communication in which we had a greed upon a partial refund on the cleaning feel. I wish VRBO allowed me to attach pictures for my review. I am sure my opinions will be disputed, but I have lots of picture to prove my point. That is ok, we are all entitled to our opinions and personal expectations.

Our stay had a rocky start. Couldn’t get into the house because we were given the wrong passcode. Janet and Scott were very apologetic and we really appreciated that they brought us a canoe in the evening, which became a bright spot for the stay. The house needs a little bit work but other than that, it is a beautiful property in a great location. The neighborhood is also very nice. If you are looking for a lake house to have a quiet and private family getaway, this will be a great option.

The kids had the most amazing time! We all loved everything about the house. We spent practically the whole day on the dock playing, fishing, swimming, and sunbathing! The owners are wonderful to work with. We can't wait to goback!

We had a amazing time. The place was beautiful. It had everything we needed or could want .

We took a 3 day trip for 2 adults and 2 teens. Was as advertised. Plenty of space, and had pretty much everything we needed. House and furnishings were a little dated and worn but everything worked. Didn't use laundry, bc there were some dirty sheets in there. Hot water limited if everyone uses at once. Slow internet is the only major drawback. Looks like the owners are in the process of upgrading some things. All those things were minor issues for us, but things that are good to know before renting. The dock and back yard were great! Owners seem very accommodating and quick to respond. Overall would definitely recommend!!

This was our first experience staying at a VRBO. It felt like home from the moment we opened the front door. Views were wonderful. The hosts were great with communications.

We absolutely loved it!

Our family had an awesome weekend together at this large lake house in a quiet neighborhood. There was plenty of room for everyone, large kitchen well stocked for preparing meals, huge deck at lakeside and a fire pit to make s'mores for the kids. When we had questions, owners were quick to respond. Hiking trails were a short distance away and neighborhood had a playground. We would definitely stay here again.

The home was as advertised and well stocked. There was nothing that we couldn't find to help make our stay enjoyable. Having 4 separate sleeping and bath areas was great. Everyone could be on their own sleeping schedule and not be interrupted by the others. Definitely recommend this location.

Pics don’t do this beautiful home justice! Wish I had stayed longer to enjoy it more.
