Thank you soooo much to Henry and Virginia for opening up your lovely home to us. You were gracious hosts and your rental property was absolutely everything we hoped it would be for a wonderful visit to Old Town Charleston. We hope to stay with you again in the future.

This was a perfect place for the 2 of us to stay. Beautiful & quiet. Luxury amenities. Gracious hostess! Convenient to walk everywhere. The only thing was we got a parking ticket for being on the street. We were under the impression that it was "parking provided" and did not need to move into a garage during the day. I wish that had been made more clearly before we booked the reservation.
All in all - we enjoyed a lovely weekend.

Our hostess exceeded all our expectations. Attention to every detail would be an understatement. We will definitely plan to return. Historical Charleston is a special destination and offers something for everyone.

What a wonderful apartment, in a great location! The apartment has lots of old charm with modern amenities. And the garden is lovely. The host was very responsive to questions we had. We didn't mind the circular stairs to the apartment, but that could be a deterrent to some. We highly recommend staying here!

Very nice carriage house in a great location for exploring Charleston. Owners are great and check-in process easy.
The unit is accessed through a spiral staircase, which could present a problem if you have mobility or balance problems.

We really enjoyed our stay. The home was charming. It was centrally located to downtown Charleston which worked out great for walking since we hadn't rented a car. The Grimballs couldn't have been more welcoming as well as their son, Henry. We loved reading about the history of this home (from Henry's school report)
Would definitely recommend!

Cozy, comfortable. & the perfect location. The apartment was clean, beautifully furnished & had everything we need for our stay. The garden is lovely & we enjoyed sitting outside in the evening . There is a set of narrow spiral stairs to reach the apartment from the entry if you are mobility challenged. The location was great for walking wherever we wanted to go downtown. The neighborhood is quiet & safe. Street parking at night wasn’t an issue during our stay. Would love to stay again

The property was absolutely top notch. The location is just south of Broad Street in a quiet neighborhood. We have stayed in Charleston a number of times at some excellent hotels but this will be our place in the future. The bedroom and sitting room are both very spacious. We did not cook but the kitchen was handy. It is an easy walk to the 82 Queen and Poogan’s Porch restaurants. Communications with the owner was prompt and helpful. Stay here!

The house was located in great walking distance to many things around town and the owner had a seamless check in process and communication.

I was able to fulfill my dream of staying in the historic district of a beautiful old home. Everything was top notch from the monogrammed towels and sheets to the beautiful gardens. We loved reading about the history of the house and even the sycamore tree on the property! The only issue we had (and the only reason for one star off) was the winding circular staircase. Being seniors, we had a hard time getting our luggage up and down. Also, the bed was a bit high. If we were any older, we may not have been able to stay. The description does not state it is an upstairs unit, and the photos of the entrance made me believe it was on the ground floor.

What a beautiful property! The owner's were lovely and the location was great. Everything was walkable, so we were able to just leave the car and enjoy the city on foot.
Thank you!!!

In Charleston for our granddaughter’s christening. What a lovely spot, light-filled and with a beautiful garden. Also the most magnificent sycamore tree I’ve ever seen. Our hostess was friendly and gracious, and it turned out that we have friends in common. Altogether a delightful visit.

Staying here enabled us to have a small taste of living in the historic district enjoying the history of the house, the garden and pleasant walks through the area. It is so convenient to walk to many of the historic sites and White Point Garden in addition to numerous of the excellent restaurants without the hassle of looking for parking. The apartment is has quality furnishings and linens and thoughtful details. Lovely hosts avsilable but afford privacy.

I would highly recommend staying at this Carriage House. The location couldn't be better. All amenities are here. Very clean. The hosts even reimbursed us for a slight inconvenience for work being done with a dinner at a great restaurant. No need to drive. Everything in walking distance.

The property combined all of the “best things” we look for when traveling-cleanliness, accurate listing, centralized location, and safety. We had plenty of room for an adult couple with the coziness of being at home, especially with the couch and reading area. Easy access to many historical locations, restaurants/cafes, and a 10-15 minute walk from the water taxi in the harbor.
We would recommend this property to all friends and family visiting Charleston!

We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 day stay at this charming carriage house. Location is excellent and very central to shops, restaurants , historical tours, etc. We were able to walk everywhere. The only time we took an Uber was to and from airport. The accommodations were very clean, and comfortable and made for a memorable stay.

The reviews are true, this is a perfect place to stay for a visit to the historic district. My wife and I stayed here for three nights after attending a nephew's graduation from the Citadel. The location is perfect, just a few blocks from the Battery, and a few blocks to many stores and restaurants. We had no issue with parking, even though street parking here is restricted to 2 hours from 9 to 5 on weekdays. If needed, there is a parking garage on Queen street just a block away. A lot of thought and attention has been given to furnishing this very comfortable apartment. There is a comfortable, light-filled sitting room with windows on three sides overlooking a walled garden, a small galley kitchen, and a bedroom with an attached bath. Guests have use of the garden (you can hear the bells of the Catholic church just across Broad Street, and of St. Michaels Church a couple of blocks away particularly well from the garden).
One of the reviews says that there is no microwave, but there is a built-in microwave under the kitchen counter (but no oven). I agree with several reviews pointing out that carrying heavy luggage up the quaint spiral staircase could be difficult, so keep that in mind when planning your visit. I also agree with several reviews pointing out that it would be nice to have a step stool in the bedroom. The bed is very comfortable, but is a bit difficult for a short person to climb into!

It is hard to express how wonderful this rental is!! The actual house, location, quaintness and history of the house is unbelievable!! My husband and I enjoyed our vacation here so much. It was everything I could have imagined. Easy access to everything but very quiet. The bed was extremely comfortable and the place was so clean! Will come again!!!

The garden was beautiful too! We absolutely would recommend this property for a beautiful Charleston visit.

This rental was absolutely perfect for our couple’s trip to Charleston. The location was ideal and every amenity was top notch. Although some early communication with the owner was not responded to, we navigated things well and overall had a wonderful experience. We also met the owners at one point and they were quite lovely— ensuring we enjoyed the property and our visit to Charleston. What more can you ask for?
