Wonderful responsive hosts. Very clean, bright, and well-appointed vintage apartment with plenty of nice towels and linens, and tons of cabinet storage. Kitchen has basic items. Comfortable bed. Nice AC/heat units. Dedicated parking space off street. And of course, the amazing lush garden and running stream outside your door, with views from all windows. Would stay again! Of Note: The bathroom is very small (think small closet with a toilet, sink and shower just inches apart - a large person would have difficulty using it). The property is on a steep street, with access through a sloped yard and narrow steps (just a heads up for anyone with mobility issues). And there are people living right above the apartment, so you will hear the daily activities above.

You walk around the corner of the house into a little slice of heaven in the middle of the city. Craig and Barbara have created this little outdoor oasis for you to enjoy! I wandered around, just taking it all in. It was clean inside and just as described. I think the kitchen was better than the photos. Having an off-street parking space was a bonus. You will find plenty of storage for your things, but you won't be able to stop looking out the windows or sitting outside in the garden. I would love to stay here in warmer weather with the windows open, listening to the water trickling through the ponds and the fountain at night. Craig is an excellent host. He messaged me for check-in details, and to make sure everything was going well. One of the best I have met! I would love to come back here.

Finding Craig's place to stay was an absolute blessing. It provided a beautiful sanctuary while we were in LA visiting our son and his family. Although we were central to everything we needed, it certainly didn't feel like we were in such a busy city. The gardens and creek are so peaceful - such a lovely environment to enjoy a drink at the end of the day, watching the sun set over the mountains. We enjoyed a bbq with our son and grandchildren and they were made to feel more than welcome to have fun in the garden too. Craig is a wonderful host - a great judge of how much time and when to spend it with us. He willing helped with anything we needed and we thoroughly enjoyed conversations about our shared experiences and passions. We will definitely be staying here again!

We spent as much time outside in the beautiful backyard garden, with its flowing stream, as we could. It was very restful and all the seating is comfortable. We met the owner Craig, who made us feel relaxed and welcome. We look forward to another booking in our future.

Would definetly utilize again and or referr.. Not so great circumstances for CA visit. Having this spot to come to and unwind at the end of the day was much needed. Very beautiful ambiance and vere serene setting. Thank you. Host was amazing.

The property was conveniently located near Universal Studios and was our oasis from our travels. The house was timeless, quaint, and so peaceful. We'll definitely return to this property. Thanks for being a great host Barry!

Wonderful property. Yard is magical and so relaxing. We had a barbecue with our grandson and family using the grill and wonderful outside setup. The kitchen is one of the most well equipped kitchens we’ve stayed in. Our host was very helpful and friendly. The location is very convenient to the freeways and stores and restaurants. But once you’re back here you’re in paradise

Our stay there was just wonderful. The garden was the perfect spot to unwind after visiting with family and driving in LA traffic. Everything is kept with such care. And the location was perfect. Thank you for letting us stay in your charming home.

Comfortable walk out basement 1bedroom 1 bath with queen bed, full kitchen and a small living room. Doors in living room and bedroom open onto a garden oasis with water feature and a view of the Hollywood hills.

This property was just what we were looking for the week leading up to our son’s wedding. It has a cottage feeling inside and the backyard is indeed spectacular! We loved the location and it is very quiet. It was fantastic eating outdoors by the waterfall and pond. So peaceful. We will stay here again! Communication was great!

wow! the cottage itself if fun, funky - an older home but beautifully maintained! the queen bed is on the smaller side, and bring your own soap, shampoo, conditioner - not provided by the host tho there's a mish mash of these items left from previous guests. the best part - the heaven-on-earth paradise back yard! the gurgling brook, the trees that canopy the yard, just amazing, beautiful! serenity at its best! every tree, every plant chosen by craig to bring forth this beautiful setting. - indeed you have a beautiful spot here on earth! enjoyed talking with you, craig, and learning some of the history of your home and cottage. we hope to be back soon!

Best Part: while the rest of LA swelters in the 90’s, waking up, making a delicious cup of coffee( that the owner has provided) opening the door to the garden and being chilly while taking in the peach and purple tones of the sunrise as it rises over the mountains, breathing in the fresh cool air while listening to the musical trickle of the water falling down through the lush landscaping on the property. A very close second best is the evening delights of the owners generously curated lightscapes that parallel the panorama of twinkling lights from the houses tucked into the surrounding mountains. Worst Part: not having nearly enough time to sit and enjoy the peaceful serenity of the garden- although we did have the opportunity to dine alfresco on our private patio one evening. Craig and Barbara were out of town while we were there, so missed the chance to meet them, but Craig reached out on several occasions to check in and make us feel welcome. We have stayed in many “bare bones” vrbo’s - and this was the opposite experience. The bed and furniture were exceptionally comfortable, and the house was stocked with everything we could possibly need while away from home. Craig has created something very special and obviously derives a great deal of pleasure from sharing it with his guests. We couldn't believe how easy it was to get downtown, and we enjoyed some really fabulous restaurants in the area- I highly recommend Raffi’s. Treat yourself by booking this charming stay!

This was the perfect place to stay. The grounds were beautifully maintained along with a water fountain, bubbling brook, comfortable seating, beautiful lighting creating a wonderful serene atmosphere with beautiful views of the mountains and city. Craig, the owner was very gracious to give me a tour of the grounds. I would love to come back and stay at this property again. The cottage was very comfortable providing just what we needed.

Beutiful, relaxing outdoor space. The owners were very accommodating. We were in town for a wedding so had a very busy weekend. We will have to visit again when we have more time to enjoy the gorgeous property.

The property is very well kept and peaceful. The location is great! The inside is quiet and cool. It was over 90 degrees outside and with the fans, shade, and location, the temp in the apartment was in the 70s. The kitchen is well stocked for basic cooking. The furniture is fairly comfortable. I felt very safe and secure. Craig lives upstairs and greeted us with kindness. He showed us the entrance and explained how things worked. He kinda said, "here is your home for your stay" (but with better wording). It was in a sincere and welcoming tone. He only has 1 rule, please don't use the hot tub as it is his sanctuary. We didn't plan on it anyway but good to know. The apartment was worth every penny.

The backyard is beautiful, like a mini botanical garden with a flowing stream and fountain. The house is carefully curated with anything you could need for a comfortable stay.

My daughter and I stayed at Craig and Barbara’s property over Memorial Day weekend and were thrilled with our decision. Craig welcomed us and made sure we knew that the backyard oasis was for us to use, which we did. While relaxing on the settee by the top pond, we enjoyed mountain views on two sides. Birdwatching was a delight; I’ve never seen so many hummingbirds! We found the kitchen amenities met our needs well. Some meals we cooked but we also enjoyed local restaurants. The location is incredible as it’s easy to hop on the freeway and the grocery store is no more than a three-minute drive. The off-street parking space was also a huge benefit. Thank you, Craig and Barbara! We hope to be back!

My husband and I stayed here while visiting our son. The amenities are exactly as listed and the property is so beautiful, the pictures don’t do it justice! Craig is warm and welcoming and has put a lot of time and care into making sure that the unit and gardens are clean and comfortable and inviting. As I sometimes travel alone, I felt that this would be a place where I could stay and feel completely safe. We will not hesitate to stay here again!

We were thrilled to find our rental had such an amazing garden surrounding it. Our host invited us to fully enjoy it, which we happily did. The rental itself was perfect for our needs. The bed was very comfortable. The kitchen was fully stocked for us to use. We will definitely rent this space again the next time we are in the area!

The location was really good, and we appreciated the off-street parking. The yard was truly beautiful, but my husband and I were both allergic to something blooming so we weren’t able to enjoy it. The bathroom was really small. We were surprised by how tight the shower was. The kitchen was adequate. Owners communicated well with us.

The backyard with its beautiful trees and flowers, seating areas,birds and even a stream make this a very restful spot. Our host was helpful and we have absolutely no complaints.

We very much enjoyed our stay in this cozy space on the lower level of an older home. Off-street parking is available. Craig lives above and is very friendly and responsive. Entrance to unit is at rear of house, where there is a lovely patio area overlooking a beautiful meditation garden, which is very quiet and peaceful.

Superbly lanscaped by the caring Craig who was generous with his time. Basic things to make cookies alteady here + oatmeal cereal included by the hosts. One of the nicest bnb places in the world.
