While the location and views are great, the unit itself was extremely outdated and needs a serious deep cleaning. The interior of the unit has not been maintained well. The furniture was old and the mattresses were worn out, the flooring needs to be replaced. During our stay, the entry gate to the community was changed but, we were not notified. There was an insufficient supply of toilet paper and paper towels even for a short stay. All of these factors made a place with great potential very disappointing.

We spent a week at here and enjoyed every second of it. The condo was very nicely equipped and maintained, quiet and quite comfortable for my wife and I. Everything went smoothly during our visit and the views from the condo are just fantastic and relaxing. We'll be back !!!

My sisters and I had an amazing stay at this lovely condo. We spent our mornings and evenings out on the screened porch watching the birds and dolphins. What a delight. There was quite a bit of traffic into Folly Beach on the weekends but this unit is within walking distance to everything. Don’t miss breakfast at The Lost Dog cafe. We did a boat tour and saw 15 dolphins. Definitely a highlight of the trip. The condo was the perfect size for our group of 5 women. Will definitely be back!!

Loved it! Wish we could go back once a month! The proximity to Folly Beach is perfect, the space between each bedroom was appreciated and the sunsets were unbeatable! We saw dolphins fishing and it was enjoyable to see the tides change the landscape from a low marsh with birds to water at a higher ground! We celebrated Thanksgiving here and only had to buy a big pan for basting the turkey—but they literally had everything else and we made a lot of side dishes! Fully stocked with cooking needs. If you are hot sleepers—be sure to bring light sleep clothes as only one bedroom has a ceiling fan. They have additional fans to plug in—just important to know from one warm sleeper to another. OTHERWISE, it’s PERFECT!

The condo was a great place for us to stay while in Folly Beach. The view was amazing and the location was great as well. Lois was very attentive and helpful. Would definitely stay here again!

Had the best stay at Lois’s place. Everything was perfect. Check in was easy. It was just what I needed to relax and get away from “real life” for a few days. Loved the view and really enjoyed the pool. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

It was so peaceful to sit on the screened in porch and listen to the waves, and watch the birds and dolphins. The location was perfect. It was close to the busy beach town of Folly and an easy drive to downtown Charleston. Definitely would recommend. Communicating with host/manager was so easy and prompt.

We stayed in a different unit at Mariner's Cay in years past when visiting Folly Beach and while it was a nice space, we never quite felt at home. When we arrived at Lois's unit, we immediately felt welcomed and were in awe of the beautiful view. It was a great layout for myself, husband and our two little kids. We will most definitely be back!

Family vacation at Folky Beach. One of the best vacations we’ve had. The view was beautiful!!! We had so much. Fun days out in the water!! We’ll be back.

The condo is just wonderful. The view is absolutely breathtaking!! Pictures do not do it justice!! The owners were prompt and great to work with. Everything was clean and Frannie was great, we enjoyed talking with her. The pool was great as well and not overly crowded. We had a great stay and look forward to staying again in the future.

The property was presented well. The porch views are amazing, especially at sunset. Saw dolphins multiple times during the week. The condo was clean, well stocked, very quiet, and comfortable. Within walking distance to Folly Island and close to excellent restaurants in James island. Highly recommend eating at Edison and staying at the condo.

The condo was great and had everything we needed. You can tell this is someone’s home and has lots of extra touches throughout. The view from the porch is a perfect way to start or end the day. The location is perfect, you are a short drive to the beach to unload all of your stuff or you can walk (about a 20 min walk). Lois and Susan were very easy to communicate with and responded very quickly the very few times we needed them. We hope to be back next year.

Perfect location. Minutes from folly beach, 15 minute drive to downtown Charleston. The condo was spacious with a spectacular view. Screened in porch was wonderful for taking in the sunset and watching dolphins. Condo could use some updating,otherwise would highly recommend. Just FYI there is a lot of remodeling taking place at Marina Cay not quite sure of completion date. Had to do a little navigating around construction vehicles. Definitely something to discuss with owner when booking. If planning on heading to beach bring or rent own chairs and beach towels. Owner doesn’t supply those items.

The location of the condo is perfect for easy access to Folly Beach or trips into Charleston. The views from the wrap-around balcony are spectacular, especially the sunsets. Thanks to Lois and Frannie for their support before and during our stay.

Best part of condo was screened in lanai. Loved having coffee & watching dolphins. Location to Folly Beach was great. Could have been a little cleaner, especially bathrooms. I was disappointed we couldn’t enjoy the pool. A lot of construction going on at Mariner’s Cay & wasn’t told about it or that the pool was closed. Should have been told that so we were prepared.

We had a great time at this property. The views are amazing and the condo is a great size for 6 people. It is walking distance to downtown Folly Beach and the ocean. The owner was very responsive any time we had questions. The condo was stocked with anything you needed. We had a great time.

This is a lovely condo in a beautiful location. There are unobstructed views from this corner unit, where you can see amazing sunrises and sunsets and dolphins swimming close to shore. Great communication from the owner.

Very clean, great views , great location

Lois's condo is in Mariner's Cay, at the foot of the bridge that leads to Folly Beach, roughly 3 mins. by car or 15 mins. on foot from the beach itself. It is ideally situated within the development, at the very back, right on the marsh. Even better, it is a corner unit, on the second floor. In other words, you literally could not be better situated to take in the stunning panorama of the marsh, the river, and a little inlet/creek just in front of the house. Take a glass of wine onto the deck at sunset and settle in for a couple of hours' worth of the greatest show on earth. We saw porpoises gliding along, smaller fish literally jumping up in the air, and lots of wonderful bird life (including a whole colony of egrets in the marsh, who flew inches away from the deck, one by one). An unexpected gift was that not only were the sunsets amazing, so were the sunrises! Lois's deck wraps around, so you can catch a small slice of the eastward view as well. You don't actually see the sun as it comes up but you can certainly see the sky as it is illuminated, with all the colors. And the marsh grass is nearly as pretty at sunrise as at sunset, with the light cast from the east; it goes from gold to bronze to bright green. At any time of day, but particularly at sunrise and sunset, this is a view that will make you fantasize about taking up painting (or maybe photography). It is inspiring and it is soul-healing. The condo itself is extremely attractive and comfortable. The dimensions of the living/dining/kitchen area are generous; you can really stretch out and never feel cramped. The furniture is big and comfy. And-- back to that view again-- the view is everywhere you look. Even when you are washing dishes or making your dinner, you are drinking in magnificence! Wow! The master bedroom has a super comfortable king-size bed, with an excellent mattress and good quality bedding... and a stunning view of the marsh and river! And direct access to the deck! Again, wow! The place was immaculately clean, really spotless. And, while not "fancy," everythingin the place is good quality. This is not one of those rentals furnished as cheaply as possible, with everything seeming like it's going to fall apart any minute. This is someone's home and it is intended for casual but gracious living. Lois is a very gracious person--courteous, personable and communicative. Frannie, her cleaner, was very helpful and had cleaned beautifully. Highly recommended! Wow!

We really enjoyed our stay at Lois’s place in Mariners Cay. The condo was as shown in the pictures and the sunset views from the balcony were amazing every night. The check in went smoothly with the information provided and Lois checked in after we arrived to make sure everything was going well. Great location within walking distance from downtown and the beach. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a nice place to stay in Folly Beach.

Great condo- perfect for a getaway! Super close to Folly Beach and only a short ride to downtown. Rooms were well-apportioned and the VIEW can’t be beat! Would definitely stay again!

Such a wonderful condo! Our family enjoyed our visit very much. The views from the end/corner unit balcony were simply amazing. Not only did we enjoy watching the sunsets, dolphins & boats, but the various seabirds were mesmerizing! The pool was very nice. We appreciated the excellent communication from both the owner and the property manager. Thank you for a wonderful family vacation!
