Our family enjoyed our stay at this comfortable and well equipped waterfront home. Family meals, sunsets over the water and starry nights by the firepit.

Slice of Heaven had all of the basics our group needed, but lacked a few things we would have liked. Pros: there are tons of activities in the area and at the house. The hosts do a good job of providing boats, games, nice sitting areas, etc. Not their fault, but you cannot get in the water in this area May-October due to the jelly fish. Our kids were disappointed about this, but still had fun fishing and crabbing. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. Cons: there is only one full bathroom and it is a shower. This is tough for multiple families staying together. This was accurately reflected in the description, but we missed it! Also, the shower in this bathroom sprays into the bathroom floor so it's hard to get the shower started without creating a puddle on the floor. Easily fixed, but there are no bedside lamps and there was a bit of an ant issue while we were there even though we were very careful about cleaning up after ourselves. Again, overall a nice stay, but be sure to read through the description before booking!

Our family had a wonderful stay! The house was well stocked and had everything we needed. The location was private and quiet. Communication was superb and check in was flawless!!! Would definitely stay again and highly recommend!!!!

Place was perfect for my family. We enjoyed it very much. There is a very secluded beach about 15 minutes away which was a big bonus. Would recommend!

A group of friends and I had such a great time getting together here. Lisa was a very responsive host and the place was full of pleasant surprises, like plenty of games to play and enough water crafts for all 8 of us to be out on the bay together.

We had a wonderfully relaxing time and enjoyed watching the birds coming and going trying to decide where to nest. There were plenty of rooms and beds so everyone was comfortable. I could certainly see staying here again.

Spent a wonderful post-Thanksgiving weekend at Slice of Heaven. Enjoyed the local eateries, went to museums, played games at wineries, kayaked the Great Wicomico, enjoyed fireplace fires.
Lisa was a wonderful hostess. We found everything exactly as was described. No problem with the internet streaming.
We WILL be back.

We loved staying here! Lisa was super responsive and helpful. The house was very clean and the local recommendations were great. The view is unbelievably beautiful. It was beautiful family bonding time!

This house was stocked and supplied like no other house we have stayed in. Plenty of towels, sheets, blankets, kitchen utensils, cleaning products, etc. The layout of the house was very agreeable. A large eating and living space is where we spent most of our time. And the 2 kid rooms were perfect even for teenagers. The extra watersport gear was very useful as well. We had 6 teeneage boys with us and they went out all day on the canoes and kayaks. The location is great and still fairly convenient to towns and shopping areas, not to mention the location to the bay. There is a beautiful, large sand beach within minutes by boat from the house. The dock was very nice; we brought our 23' power boat over and it worked out great. A slight word of caution is that there is a narrow channel to get to and from the house by boat. It can be a little tricky and it is much easier during high tides of course. That's nothing against the house, but something to consider if you want to bring your boat.

I didn’t know how much I needed to be at this property. Spent mornings in the gazebo listening to nature and soaking in the beauty. Tons of fun on the lake being silly, evening around the fire….best coffee puzzle….words don’t describe. I highly recommend you find out for yourself!!

The property is as described in the listing and there was plenty of room for my husband and I, my son and his family/ 2 kids ( 5 and 2 1/2). They had a great time on the private dock with their nets. Vir-Mar beach was great for the kids (except for jellyfish - to be expected in Aug). It was lovely on the water in the kayaks. We had a wonderful time!

We loved our stay here! Our teenagers fished from the private dock every day. It was easy to keep an eye on them (or watch the gorgeous sunsets) from the screened in gazebo or the numerous windows overlooking the water. My younger first time kayakers learned to paddle in the little cove before venturing out into the bigger river. Fire pit area was perfect for winding down the day. Inside, the combined dining and living areas were great for relaxing and family time! A thunderstorm knocked out our power for a short time, and the property owner was very responsive, keeping us updated on the outage. Highly recommend!

Great quiet family getaway

Caught lots of crabs. Kids used the canoe to explore the water
Did not swim, too many small jelly fish but saw locals swimming and talked to them. Said that the jelly fish swim away when you name a splash, but we preferred not to swim. Overall the house was amazing. Sat by the firering in the evenings while enjoying company of family. Definitely would book again.

This is our second time staying at this property. We really enjoy the location on the water and the property itself. It has everything we need and large enough to accommodate our family. We have already booked our third visit!

Awesome place on the water, with a dock! The house has a big open living/dining area, perfect for bigger groups of people.

Great views and amenities
We had an amazing time at . We walked through the door and felt welcomed as we picked the bedrooms we would use for our stay. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals. Our favorite part was the amenities outside. We use the kayaks and canoes to paddle along the waterways, sat in the gazebo to read a book and enjoy the water and sunset views, sit at the end of the dock to soak up some rays, and the fire pit. We cooked hotdogs, S’mores and banana boats. We saw thousands of stars, satellites and shooting stars. We went to Chitterchat Ice Cream Parlor twice and it has very rich tasting ice cream. We ate at Crazy Crab and I would recommend the hot crab dip and Reedville Rockfish. We went to the town of Tappahannock and went into several cute shops and ate at NN Burger. You should order the hot Lobster Roll and a freak milkshake. The location and amenities of this house was great and we hope to come back again.

Slice O' Haven
Had a wonderful 3 days weekend here. Couldn't find a single thing to cut any point. It was very clean, loaded with all necessary stuff. Beautiful location, plenty of space to enjoy. Nice Gas grill. Enjoy BBQing, outdoor setting and the hammock. Utilized the Canoe and kayak. Got two Stingray. Property manager response without wasting a minute. Price wise reasonable too.
Only one thing they can work on is the landscaping.

Lovely place
Everything was lovely. The kitchen could use a bit of a facelift, but it was fully functional. We even made a wonderful holiday meal in it. The setting is beautiful and we appreciated the kayaks and canoe.

Our family, including a brother and his son took a trip for 4 days to do some fishing and had a wonderful time. Kayaks and canoeing, fishing, Monopoly, and Smores. The toddlers were beyond psyched for toys that weren't their own. There were many. Cornhole, a screened in gazebo and friendly neighbors. Fully equipped kitchen and bath as well. Would def recommend!!

Comfortable and beautiful stay by the water
This property was nicely renovated with plenty of room for our group. We loved the open living and dining room with beautiful views of the water. The house was well equipped and we loved using the boats to go out for a paddle. Lots of options at this house for relaxation- fire pit, screened in porch, etc….The host was very helpful to answer my questions when asked. Oh and it is kid friendly which was great for us- host has toys ready!

Hot but very fun!
We were here on the two hottest days of the summer. The a/c worked great and the place was just right for a low key weekend. We caught crabs an fish, visited wineries and got home made ice cream! Loved it!

The house was clean, & beautiful. We had 6 adults & 2 children with plenty of room. Kitchen was well stocked, as well as paper products. Lisa was always quick to respond to any questions. We loved fishing, crabbing, kayaking, paddle boarding & floating in the river. We brought our own kayaks, floats & paddleboard but the house also comes with 2 kayaks, 2 canoes & 2 floats which is great.. If you want to relax & unwind in comfort, this is the house for it!! We are looking forward to coming back!!

We had a wonderful time. The area did have neighbors but it was a very quiet and calm. People rarely even passed by on the river. Nice get away for those tired of the rush and pressure of city life.
