We very much enjoyed our 3 night stay here. The view is spectacular and the 17-sided home is charming, with plenty of room. The steps down to the dock are a bit challenging and an actual hand rail would help. There is construction on both sides but the noise was minimal. Nearby Cashiers has some wonderful restaurants and shops, and treks to Sylva, Asheville, and other spots are easy and fun. You’re surrounded by natural beauty. We hope to return.

This place exceeded our expectations. The views were absolutely amazing. Great location! We had a wonderful time!

Really enjoyed our stay. The views from the deck are spectacular. Very unique house with windows that face the lake. Clean upstairs with master bed and addition bedroom. Path to dock where you can swim or canoe. The path is a little tricky, but it works. Only complaint was the bad internet service, which in turn gave us very little ability to watch TV. All in all, great stay and would return.

The view is truly amazing. We really enjoyed our stay. The house is fully equipped with everything you need. We found the primary bed very comfortable and we enjoyed using the hot tub. WiFi uses satellite and is very slow. The trek up from the lake is not for the faint of heart. It is a long steep climb. The house is convenient to Cashiers and Highlands. We were able to visit several local waterfalls and hiking trails.

We enjoyed our time at Ted's Shed very much in spite of several rainy days. We only navigated the stairs to the lake once and they were a challenge (of course we are both approaching 80!) but doable. The kitchen was well equipped. The bed in the master is very high - I had to find a step ladder to get into it and my husband who is 6'3" even found it difficult. We loved the view of the lake and the peaceful atmosphere. We would definitely stay there again.

This is the perfect place for a family of four to spend a few days on the lake. The access to the dock is perfect - swimming is amazing - access to Cashiers and the local marina are also easy. Obviously, the deck of the cabin is the best!

Very private setting with an Incredible view! It is awesome perk to have access to the lake with your own private dock with kayaks and a canoe. Because of this, the rest of what we dealt with gets a pass. It was a lot of little things but they added up. First off, I had to re-text the owner to remind him to send me the code after having agreed to that process on the phone 15 minutes earlier. Not a great start. Overall, the house is showing it's age and you could tell there hasn't been much re-investment of money or effort to update it or maintain things along the way. The ice maker and fans in the living room don't work. Instead of repairing these things, there are notes posted to inform you these things no longer work. We also noticed the microwave wasn't working even though it was plugged in. Had to re-set the breakers in the fuse box to resolve the problem. Again, not a big deal - but it all adds up. The next morning, went downstairs to begin the "2-3 hour" process of heating up the water in the hot tub. The directions said to "push the JET button twice". First of all, there isn't a "jet" button. Instead there is a "pump" button. Second, come to find out from the owner, you only need to push this "jet/pump" button once - not twice like the instructions say. Regardless, the display on the jacuzzi initially displayed the current temp of the water (57) and then started blinking "FLO". Was instructed that this probably indicates that the filter might need changing and that there might be one in the storage room. The owner said "we're at the end of the season and I'm sure no one's ever done it". Really?! After an unsuccessful search for a replacement filter, we let the hot tub be for awhile in hopes that it would still allow the water to be heated. Several hours later, the water was still 57 degrees. After spending a lot of time on this - just gave up and shut off the hot tub and put the cover back on it. Owner refunded us $90 for our trouble with the hot tub. Nice gesture but we spent a lot of time on this and it would have probably been avoidable had there been a little effort the change the filter. Contrast this stay with our next VRBO rental up in Bryson City where the hot tub was already pre-heated and ready to go the second we walked in the door. Huge difference! Also, I have stayed at a lot of different VRBOs and this is the 1st time I've had to remove the garbage myself and take it to an offsite dump site 5 minutes away.

This property is the best we’ve ever found in this area.. so clean, cozy & the most spectacular view. We only left the property to shop a little & wanted to return to our little escape home away from home….we plan to return next year! The amenities available are excellent and everything was in top working order. Super nice place!!

The house was spotless and in great condition, the views are priceless , the dock access is for the Young and fit, but we came to see the lake not jump in, I can't find anything to complain about, the bathroom on the hot tub deck is great, you can shower and change right there, there is almost everything on site you need to cook with, spices, pots and pans

check in and out was smooth. The rental had all the needed items. Enjoyed fishing from the dock and fishing from both canoe and kayak. AM coffee from the deck and night time in the hot tube. a great stay.

My husband and I rented this place to have access to the lake via the dock as pictured in the listing. Included were 2 kayaks, a canoe, swim ladder on the dock, and previous reviews indicated we could fish for brim or crappies. We came ready for a wonderful week with our grandson on lake front property. Unfortunately, the lake had been drawn down, the walk way to the dock was cantilevered nearly vertical and covered in a thick layer of moss. There was no way to get to the dock. the surrounding area did not lend itself to lake access, very overgrown and vertical. So we had a nice rental in a spacious clean house, terrific view from high above, but no lake front fun. I won't use VRBO again and will go through a local rental agency so I get the full picture next time.

We and our fur babies had an awesome stay at Ted's Shed and hope to stay again in the future! Frederick is very hospitable and we highly recommend this house. House is in a prime location, secluded, yet close to Cashiers for restaurants/shopping. Hiking/waterfalls/other smaller lakes with reasonable driving distance from all directions. Amazing views from upper and lower deck and lower covered deck is perfect to enjoy if it's raining. House was clean and very comfortable. Particularly liked the open kitchen and primary bathroom shower. Thanks for sharing your wonderful home with us Frederick, you have quite the little gem hidden on a hillside at Lake Glenville. (Not the owners fault, but unfortunately there is construction happening on both lots to the right and left of house during the day. However, in the early morning and evening you can hear the birds chirping and and hear the running water from the small waterfall to the right of the house!)

Owner was very nice and seemed to want to fix the issues that we had. Issues are not listed because he said he would fix them. Will say moderate hike is a moderate mountain climb. This is not a lake house you can easily go to dock with gear most things must be loaded and unloaded from marina area do to not being able to hike down mountain with it. But beautiful and quite if you want to get away this will do it!

The property has some of the most Amazing views of Lake Linville that I have ever seen. The Home is beautifully set up to take it vantage of those views in every direction. The neighborhood is quiet and close to town. The lockdown to the lake is steep and can be slick after rains as it is rock stairs. But there are cables to help assist. Our Young dog did fine our older dog I decided not to allow down the path more than once. The dock is nice as well as the access to kyaka life vests etc The only two things we had to figure out were the “steps” leading off the bottom deck to the lake path. They are single boards instead of double which was hard for the dogs (we ended up waking down grass path) and getting our water fur baby out of the lake took some figuring out but there is a great Rock ledge which we utilized a ton Not a ton of yard space that isn’t on a hill for the pups but ours don’t mind the hills Overall it was a great stay. We very much appreciate that opportunity to stay in this beautiful home. Thank you

This house was the perfect spot for our family. The dock/ lake access provided lots of fun. The close proximity to Cashiers, allowed for easy access to hiking and restaurants. We were able to enjoy the best of the area from this wonderful house.

The house was in a great location and quite nice. It's set up well and had what we needed. No complaints. There is construction going on on both sides so for those looking for quiet, that's not exactly possible right now as the crews show up at 7 and run heavy equipment into the evenings. Not at all the hosts fault just need ro be aware. My daughter did fall into the lake trying to get from the dock into the kayak so it's not that easy for the less than physically adept. She's an athlete so not a teen who isn't used to sport. The host was responsive to our needs.

We enjoyed this oasis on a mountain lake. Definitely an expedition we will never forget! It wasn't the retirement area we were hoping for but the amazing mountain terrain surrounding the peaceful lake is an adventure of a lifetime! We enjoyed the beautiful property, the decks, the hottub, the dock and kayak. Loved every minute and wished we stayed even longer.

Great location felt like we were in the trees. Loved visiting all the waterfalls in the area.

Stayed here with my wife and infant son for a long weekend and it was just the quiet seclusion we were looking for. No close visible neighbors and the view of the lake is incredible. The fall colors were at peak which made for a picture perfect setting. We arrived at night and had some trouble finding our way but the owner stayed on the phone with us to guide until we found it. Spacious interior and the hot tub on the large covered lower deck was great on the cool mornings and nights. We would definitely stay here again.

A very good place to relax, quiet and peaseful. The owner is very responsive. We definitely enjoyed stay. We got there after dark, about 10:00pm. I would recommend getting there before dark since the access road to the house does not have pavement and no street sign. However, the owner was on the phone with me directing me to the house till we got there. We appreciate that.

This rental property is amazing! Nestled in a cove off the beaten path on Lake Glenville, yet close to town, out family loved has enjoyed “Ted’s Shed” for the last 2 years. Highly recommended and the owner is very kind as well. Five Stars from our family and we hope to be back again next year!

Our stay was perfect. The lake is gorgeous, and the view from the house is incredible. The house was clean, the owner provided all necessary information for our stay and was available for any questions or concerns. As mentioned by the owner and previous guests, the path to the lake will not be accesible for all guests, but we had no issues. We drove our FWD Toyota Camry and did not have any trouble with driving to and from the house. I would definitely recommend and we plan to visit again. Thanks for a great stay!

We loved the house and lake view. It was well stocked and the sheets were wonderful. The only drawback was not being able to get to the lake because the water was so low. The owner said he hoped to address that soon.

Overall this is a great house and located at the top of a hill above the lake that gives you fantastic views. The house is round with windows all the way around which is really neat. The master bed is so nice, I had to strip the bed to see what kind of mattress it was, so I could buy the same one. The only down side, is that you really need to be in good health to scale the hill going down to the lake. I read this before I went, but I still wasn't prepared. I have had several knee surgeries and couldn't make it down to the dock and back without my knee having issues. Over all though, it is a wonderful place to get away from it all.

Lovely circular home overlooking Lake Glenville. Spectacular view of the lake with loads of natural light and added conveniences—hot tub, kayaks, and numerous hiking trails in the area.

This property is everything and more. The house is as furnished as your own, the view.....well THE VIEW. The description is spot on. Fishing is great on the lake. The area is wonderful and you may never want to leave. One of our best vacations ever!

This is a unique place and was perfect for us; two adults, two teens and a dog. We had a great time together and appreciated the availability of the canoe and kayaks.

Our family stayed here for 3 nights and just loved it. The view is top shelf and the house was very nice and cozy. Enjoyed the hot tub and dock. An incline tram to transport people to the dock makes this place a gem. Owner very particular which is understandable, but I’ve never had to wash my own linens and take out my own trash to haul to wherever I can find to dispose. And I’ve stayed at a lot of VBRO’s. Other than that, we had a blast. The lake was awesome with three waterfalls was easily seen from a boat. We caught some bluegill down on the dock too. Overall, great family vacation!
