My adult children and I, along with my best friend's family enjoyed an amazing week at this spacious, clean home. We especially appreciated the very well equipped kitchen, as we love to cook large family meals! There was more than enough room for everyone to spread out, inside and outside. The dock was a huge hit - tons of room and seating on the roof! We rented a pontoon boat for 2 days and loved being able to come in and out whenever we wanted. There were many yard games available, but we were so busy with the water that we never had a chance to use them. Everyone kept thanking me for booking this home - you can't go wrong!

Macon Memories was the perfect spot for our group! The house was beautiful, the lake was beautiful, we had everything that we could need and more (the nugget ice maker is AMAZING!). The Connell’s communicated so well and made sure that we had all that we needed. We had an amazing stay! 10/10 stars!

Beautiful and clean home. Great floor plan and layout for multiple families to gather. Too cold for swimming (Thanksgiving), but we enjoyed the kayaks, fire pit, pool table, kitchen, and just hanging out. Nice decks.

We used this place for an annual planning meeting. The house was large enough that everyone had plenty of privacy. I would come back for a vacation and would definitely bring a boat next time. Very clean.

This house was perfect for our annual trip to the lake! Super clean, great amenities, and the layout was perfect for our group of 9 adults. We can't wait to come back next year!

We had a great time at Macon memories! There was lots of space for everyone to hang out. Very well stocked kitchen. Fire pit was fun to hangout at every night. Only thing I would recommend would be lounge chairs on the top deck of the boat house.

Our group of 16 had a WONDERFUL time at Macon Memories! 9 adults and 7 boys ages almost 2 - 13 had wonderful cousin times. Adults enjoyed time outside after the boys went to bed. Bill was EXCELLENT and prompt in communications.

13 of us stayed at this beautiful house. There is plenty of room for everyone! The kitchen is very well stocked! Extra fridge and freezer in garage came in very handy. Bill made communication very easy. The high speed internet was down while we were there and Bill went out of his way to ensure that my son (who had a college exam) was able to complete his exam. Only thing i would change is to have some kitchen cabnet space available to store the weeks worth of groceries.

Macon Memories is an outstanding property. We do an annual vacation with 3 families of 5, and this place was perfect. It is very well laid out and easily accommodated our group of 15. We never felt cramped, and it had all the necessary amenities needed to enjoy the lake life. The beds were comfortable, and the seating throughout was plentiful and of great quality. The grill and fire pit were also top notch. When we weren't out boating, our kids enjoyed swimming, fishing, and jumping off the docks upper deck. The owner was great at communicating with us, from the start, and checked to insure everything met our expectations when we arrived. I highly recommend this property! A great experience!

We shared this wonderful house with another family. Kids age range from 9-13 all had an awesome time jumping off the dock, kayaking, paddle boarding, and swimming. The upper deck on the dock was perfect for relaxing and watching the boats go by on the lake and the fire pit was fun for s’mores and hanging out in the evening. House was awesome and had everything we needed. Boat rentals are close by and easy for pick up and drop off. Can’t go wrong with this house and location!

My family and I had a great time, we’ve rented multiple houses at Lake Gaston over the years and this was one of my favorites. The house is well stocked, clean and comfortable. Located on a nice and quiet cove for swimming but right off the main lake for easy access with a boat. Bill was very responsive to our requests and any concerns we had during our stay. Highly recommend and I will definitely go back!

It doesn’t get much easier to enjoy your vacation. The house is in great shape and maintained well. Kitchen is stocked with everything you could possibly imagine. The layout worked out great for our family; the downstairs was perfect for the teen hangout. Great lake location and outdoor amenities. Bill was very attentive from my first contact up until we pulled out of the driveway. Wonderful experience all around. We would certainly come back!

This property was exactly what we needed for a quick family and friends weekend. This property is nestled in a quiet finger of Lake Gaston with quick access to the busy lake. The property had enough rooms to accommodate a large group of mixed ages. Adults had plenty of rooms to choose from and not be forced to sleep in bunk beds like many rental properties we rented in the past. The kids enjoyed all of the available games and were able to make s’mores at the fire pit. Adults had plenty of sitting areas outside to get away from the larger group. The owner was very great to work with and I would visit this property again!!

The pictures don’t do this house justice, it’s perfect! The house is huge with plenty of space for everyone to spread out and it has everything you could possibly need. We traveled with a very large group of family ranging in ages from 15-80 and we never once felt cramped. The house has everything from storage containers for your leftovers to games and toys for the kids. Our kids are older and loved being able to go out on the water on the paddle boards and fishing from the kayaks. The cove is quiet and safe for the kids to swim and have a good time. Bill was a wonderful host, he checked in often during our stay and was quick to answer any questions we had. I highly recommend this beautiful property!

Our family had a wonderful Lake Gaston experience. The layout of the house was PERFECT for our three little families (5 kids in total). The location was perfect, the water toys were an added bonus, and the fishing was great. We enjoyed the fire pit the ping pong table and pool table tremendously, AND we have plenty of fridge space in house and garage to accommodate ALL. The bar set up on the first floor was awesome even a mini fridge at the dock. The private views off every bedroom were delightful. There was plenty of space for our group of 11 and we were super thankful for the additional ice machine. The owners were SUPER prompt with any and all communication and we will be back - 100%.

We cannot say enough wonderful things about our stay at Macon Memories! We had a very large group of 15 people including four individual families; three families with two kids and one family with one child. With six bedrooms, we had plenty of space for each family to have their own area of the house and sleeping arrangements were perfect. For context, the children in our group were 10, 7, 4, 2.5, 2, 1, and 5 months. The location on the lake was perfect. We loved being in the cove away from the boat traffic on the main lake, but we still had a great view of the lake and tons of privacy. The boathouse is INCREDIBLE. On the top deck, we set up a tent for shade and baby pool for the kiddos. The older kids and adults loved jumping from the jump gate. Everyone loved swimming and fishing for hours every day. We rented a pontoon for the week and had plenty of space to dock the boat. Taking daily trips to explore new areas of the lake was such fun! We were close to three restaurants and gas on the lake. I can't imagine another location this perfect for the price. The house had absolutely everything we needed -- the owners really thought of everything: kitchen needs, bedding, board games, bluetooth around the house, great wi-fi, ice makers, koozies, refrigerator at the boat house, comfortable furniture and beds, water toys, etc. Bill, the owner, checked in on us throughout the week and provided great information before, during and after our stay. We will definitely be back next summer.

We had an absolute blast at Macon Memories!! The house is amazing and we enjoyed all personal touches. The kitchen is very well stocked and the kids (and adults) loved jumping off the dock. Hope to go back next year.

This house had everything you'd need! The kitchen was stocked with everything you'll need to cook, plenty for the young adults to do with the ping pong table and pool table. We jumped off the sundeck, boated, tubed & water skied. Had some friendly turtles in the cove as well. Neighbors were great, neighborhood was great for walking. The owner responded promptly to my texts. We would definitely rent this house again!

This property worked out even better than I expected and we had a wonderful time! The owner was great at communicating information and checked on us the day we arrived and before we left to see if there was anything he needed to address. The home was the perfect layout for our family which allowed us adults and kids to really enjoy our time with one another. There was several nice touches: intercom system, ice maker, dock speakers for music, deep water for the kids to jump off the dock and great spot on the lake to float and relax. I scored 4 stars for location only because it took about 20-25 min to get to the nearest grocery store. We would definitely love to stay again! A couple things I will know for next time: - Check on the thermostat setting each day. The first and second floor thermostats would reset each day to 74 & 76. A few days in we realized this and Then just Made sure the check and lower the setting Daily as needed. - Lake Gaston does not offer trash pick up. Plan taking the trash to the dump mid vacation. Do not be like us and wait until the end of vacation and have a ton of trash to take at once. If you are considering this property for a quiet family vacation do not hesitate!

The house was beautiful! The kitchen was super stocked with pots/pans & everything we could need. Bill was very responsive to the couple things that we needed to contact him for. We really enjoyed the dock as the kids had fun jumping off. We also had fun playing in the water with the paddle boards and kayaks. WiFi was great even to the dock! Thanks for a great time! We would come again!

This was our first family vacation to Lake Gaston. We had my family and two others that vacationed together. The house was more then we expected. The pictures do not do it justice. The space in the kitchen is open to the living room and dining area. There is also a small little nook with a table and an AMAZING sun room with doors you can close. The kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans, utensils, plates and cups. Anything you needed they had! The downstairs was it's own little paradise, with a open concept for a family room and a game table as well as three bedrooms. We have three little ones and we never felt anxious about noise in the night, due to the space being laid out so well! This house has enough space for a large group. We never felt like we were on top of each other even if we were all in the same space. The house is big enough as well that you feel like you have your own space if you need it. It honestly felt like home. We felt relaxed right away. There was just something about the house that felt comfortable right away and relaxing! It felt like it was our own home, thats how welcoming it was! We had one day of rain and we had so much to do inside. It is a well stocked house with games, pool table, ping pong and space that even on a rainy day you still feel like you are on vacation. The decks on the back made it nice to sit outside in the morning with coffee, and the bottom level has patio furniture to sit on as well. We enjoyed the fire pit for s'mores. We spent mostly all of our time in the water. One of the things we loved most was being in a cove. We could play in the water with the kids or just float in the water and not worry about waves. We had a place to put our boat in right across from the house, very convenient! Lastly, communication with the owner was impeccable. Any time we reached out he got back to us right away. We never felt like we were bothering him.

We’ve stayed at LKG for seven Summers & this was probably our favorite house. Plenty of space for everything & everybody. Owner was more than quick to respond to an issue we had. Counter ice maker came in handy! Would definitely stay again!

This house had everything we wanted and more, it had plenty of kitchen utensils and the bedrooms were plenty big enough for our family. The kids loved the bunk room!! We loved the dock and the ability to jump off of the top. The lake was quiet and we had a great time floating and boating. Would recommend this house for a large group, we had 14 and had plenty of room. The owner was easily accessible for any questions and checked on us to make sure we didn't need anything.

We had a amazing time! The house was wonderful and had everything (and more) for our week stay. The location is perfect to get out quickly on your boat or jet ski.

Bill was super as our VRBO host for the weekend. My family gathered on Lake Gaston for a family wedding in nearby Warrenton. The house was beautiful and the 6 bedrooms and 4 baths were perfect for the family to get ready for the many wedding events we attended. We spent a beautiful day on the lake deck laughing and a few folks even jumped in the lake from the deck! Bill was great keeping us up to date on details of the house and was very responsive answering my questions and helping to resolve any questions I had. The house had many amenities we didn't have time to take advantage of; fire pit, pool table, games. The kitchen was well appointed with everything you need to prepare meals. Although we brought toilet paper and paper towels, we didn't need those as there was plenty already in the house for the weekend. I wish I had thought to bring bar soap. We had to improvise on that one. Bill provided sheets and towels for our stay, including lake towels. Just great. We only wish we had more time to spend there. Next time...! Linda Y.
