We had a great stay, the house was spacious and fit our family nicely. We had a 2 year old and 7 month old with us, so all of the baby amenities were very helpful! The owners made sure everything we needed for the babies would be ready for us! There are a ton of outlets, which is great, but a little nerve racking since they don’t have covers.
The house was well stocked with most things we would need. Cooking in the kitchen was a breeze, as it has tons of cookware and utensils! We did run into some ants in the kitchen, but kept all of our stuff put away to try and avoid any problems. We all enjoyed the bikes provided, as well as the beach chairs. Outdoor shower was great to rinse off! Beautiful water view, that we enjoyed many times off of the deck.
The owners were wonderful to work with, and made us feel comfortable!

We spent the long New Year’s weekend. The house was spotless. The kitchen was the most well-equipped we have experienced and all the extra equipment for the littles was also so helpful. We had plenty of space to spread out, which we needed with three kids under 5. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay there again!

This was a great place to stay off the beaten path for some quiet time away from the hub bub and just a short walk or bike ride to the beach. It was definitely nice to be able to use the on site kayaks and amenities available. Everything was there as stated by the owner and the building g deck was definitely helpful is providing entertainment for our baby and pet. The communication with the owners was great and they were very helpful in addressing any questions and needs! Definitely a great quiet vacation spot for the family with great neighbors all around! Thank you for the wonderful place to stay!

This was our family's first time to Virginia Beach and to the East Coast for that matter and He Crab She Crab was a great place for us. Having the option to kayak on calm waters and also having quick access to a nice and clean public beach at the oceanfront exceeded our expectations! The house had everything we needed to relax and enjoy our stay. Would definitely rent from Mark and Elaine again. 😁

This was the first time that we stayed in this home. There were 5 adult women. The accommodations were very very clean. We appreciated having the bikes which made trips back and forth to the beach easier than walking.
The beach in that area does not have parking so we needed to drop off stuff with one car and the rest of us bike down.
The kitchen is very well appointed. Also the owners are very responsive to questions or problems.

Overall, we all had a great visit. There were some concerns regarding the distance from the beach, but we used a van to bridge the gap. The canal behind the property was a big plus with fishing, kayaking and paddle boarding.The only serious negative was that there are exposed carpet tacks or nails at the threshold between the living and dining rooms..My grand daughter injured her foot and lost a half day (with her mother) recovering. The HVAC is annoying loud for sleeping on the lower level and the master bathroom sink drains quite slowly.

The home was exactly as stated! Best house we could have found to accommodate 4 children and 4 families. Beach was great! Sand was so soft. Not overcrowded and 4 rows deep of people. Weather was excellent until rain all day on our very last day. Better than all week of rain! Owners were awesome and checked with us as to anything we needed.

Our family had a wonderful stay. The house suited us perfectly. We used the bikes to ride to the beach along with the beach chairs and sun umbrella. We loved being right on the canal almost more than going to the beach. Fished everyday, our kids enjoyed cooling off/swimming, and my dad even took his first kayak trip. A warning however, those mosquitoes will eat you alive! Thanks Mark and Elaine for a wonderful house on our first trip to Sandbridge.

House was great. Plenty of room for the 10 of us. Owners had bikes, kayaks, baby gates/locks on site. We were on the canal so the kids could swim and fish right behind the house. The beach was a short walk away. Ice cream trucks drove by the house every day at different times. Neighborhood fireworks on both ends of the street.

We were so impressed with this property. The house itself was very clean and had a nice homey atmosphere. All the extra amenities they provided were wonderful, especially if you have younger kids (crib, highchair, booster seats, beach toys, toddler step stools,etc)- it saved us a lot of room while traveling.
The house is right on the canal. The kids fished right off the dock and the adults kayaked most evenings. The yard was spacious with a cute swing set and sandbox.
Mark and Elaine were very quick to respond to any questions or issues we had. We had a small problem with our AC one afternoon and Mark was there within 30 mins to resolve the issue.
Can’t say enough nice things about this property. My family loved it!

The home was spotless! Everything that we could have possibly needed was provided. The kitchen was completely stocked for those of us who enjoy cooking and eating in. It was so nice to have paper products and cleaning supplies provided as well as the bikes, kayaks, wagon, and stroller. We didn’t have to waste time on a short weekend stay going to rent those things!

Family members came from all over to celebrate our daughter’s wedding. The home is absolutely beautiful, clean, convenient, and accommodating. The kitchen had everything available that my own kitchen has at home. The extras that were provided such as tissues, toilet paper, paper towels, hand soaps, detergents, paper products was amazing.
The hosts were so helpful with their instructions, recommendations, and guides to shopping and restaurants.
Overall, He Crab, She Crab is a fine home.

We really enjoyed the house. Nice, clean with everything you need. Grandson loved the playground. We enjoyed morning coffee And a glass of wine in the evening on the deck over looking the water. Would recommend this for anyone wanting a nice relaxing place to stay.

Had a lovely time at Mark and Elaine's home. The bed rails and baby gate were super useful for containing our little one during a family vacation, but she had so much fun exploring.
As others said, the beach is a 15 minute walk away (more if you're bringing your little one), but you'd want to use a car if you're going to bring chairs etc., but there's paid parking close by.
Mark and Elaine were easy to reach out to, and super accommodating when we had questions! Highly recommend this place!

We had a great week! The house and bathrooms were very clean. The beach toys and beach umbrella were so helpful to have along with the infant life vest for the 2 year old grandson. We dropped things off at the beach by car and used the bikes for quick back and forth to the house. The gas grill was handy and they even had an extra propane tank which came in handy! Family friendly house!

We’ve been making a week in Va Beach a family tradition the last few years. This was our first time in the Sandbridge area. A little further trip to get there for us, but coming down from NY, what’s another 30 mins really.
The house is great. It’s huge! Lots of space, plenty of rooms and bathrooms. Big deck, grill. Swing set and sandbox in the back that my little guy loved. The kayaks looked great, wanted to use them, didn’t get a chance. Tons of bikes for all ages. Basketball hoop in the driveway. Really cool setting right on the canal. Fished a bit, not as much as I wanted. But it’s there.
Elaine and Mark were great to deal with, very responsive and helpful.
The walk to the beach is bit of a hike with a little one, we walked it once, drove to unload and called for a pickup from a relative who isn’t a beach person, and also drove a few mins and took advantage of Little Island Park and it’s beach and amenities. Definitely worth checking out and the $5 parking fee for the day.
Some of the excursions into town add a few mins to the drive than places we’ve previously stayed but it’s not a big deal. Honestly almost all you need is right around there, we just have some spots we’ve been in the past and wanted to go to again (Aquarium, etc).
All in all, a super place and great location, a wonderful time and good people to deal with.

We all enjoyed the house and the canal being in our back yard.
The only dispute was how close the beach was from the house. It was not down the Sandbend Rd. like we believed, it was off Rock Lane and walk across main road Sandpiper . We did car drop offs and then drove the car back and rode the bike back to beach.
But thank you for the usage of all the bikes and kayaks.

This house was almost perfect for our family of ten. We had four children ages 5-8 and it would have been better for us if we had one additional bed. The crib took up valuable floor space, and another twin or a bunk bed would have made the sleeping ideal for us. The dining table was great for our family dinners and the number of bathrooms was perfect. We loved the street where we were located and its proximity to the beautiful beach and many shopping and restaurant needs. We didn't venture to the hubbub of the boardwalk area and loved the quiet of our location. The owner, Elaine, was a dream to deal with. We were very satisfied customers.

Fun, Convenient, and Cozy
We had a great week with the extended family, cooking and playing games at home on the rainy days. We enjoyed the well-stocked kitchen, the puzzles and the comfy beds. The house has a nice back deck and space for all 11 of us to relax in the living room. Interesting layout and plenty of bathrooms. We did buy our own TP during the week. The skylight is shaded, but it gets a bit bright in the upstairs main bedroom when the sun comes up. Other windows have good privacy shades though. On the nice days the bikes and wagon were used to get us all back and forth to the beach, just 5 min ride, kids and all! We even took the kayaks for a spin in the canal. Also enjoyed the 30 min drive to Virginia Beach activities. But we preferred Sandbridge for its small town charm. We recommend the nearby grocery and Simply Steamed for delicious seafood. A very satisfying family vacation!

My family consisted of 11 people ages 60 to age 3.
Well all enjoyed the beach life during the day and the canal life in the evening. This house has a great back yard for kid and adult play (cornhole etc). In addition the canal allowed for kayaking, and lots of jumping and floating. I would highly recommend He Crab She Crab for your next family vacation. Elaine the homeowner was great and easy to touch base with if I had questions.

We had a wonderful family Christmas at this lovely beach home. The house was decorated beautifully with a tree to place our gifts under, lights, Santas, and candles in the windows. Everyone, from the baby to the grandparents had an amazing time.

We had a wonderful family Christmas at this lovely beach home. The house was decorated beautifully with a tree to place our gifts under, lights, Santas, and candles in the windows. Everyone, from the baby to the grandparents had an amazing time.

We had a lovely stay at this property for Thanksgiving. I would definitely book this property again.

The home was well maintained and well appointed, the kitchen has an awesome refrigerator and ice maker on the counter which was a game changer. Ample dishware, utensils and cooking supplies. It was nice to have the basic staples provided as well. One of the reasons we chose this home was for the playground equipment, sand box, bike, kayaks and fishing dock. But the playground equipment and sandbox are old and in need of some maintenance, cleaning and fastening. There was enough room for everyone and the beds were comfortable with the exception of the master with the temperpedic mattress which did not function properly.
It is a lovely neighborhood and convenient location to restaurants, etc. It was very hot the week we went and the trek back and forth to the beach was difficult because we had 5 small children. we rented a golf cart which helped. The hosts were very helpful and thorough concierges! Overall it was a great place and we would recommend it!
