The check in process was easy, the managers were all very friendly and helpful (especially when we locked ourselves out oops). The house is beautiful and quiet, clean and has great views. We will be staying there again for sure!

The property is stunning inside and out. The drive up to the house is typical of all the roads on the island, steep and winding, but not difficult after the first time. The property managers and owner were very responsive.

We had a great stay. The house is one of the best VRBO experiences I've had. The views were wonderful of the ocean, stars, and birds. The home had all we need, beautiful deck, small pool. Just 5 minutes from Cruz Bay, easy to access all beaches (in the same way any location on St. John is), more peaceful than staying in Cruz Bay. The cleaning, and maintenance staff were all wonderful. I loved the gardens, watching the hummingbirds and bananquits fighting over the flowers. I now know what a true 5star experience is. The drive to the home can be challenging for some but I had no problem.

Wonderful views, and clean, the house sits at the end of a very steep road. It has one king en suite, and two queens with a shared bath across the hall. There was AC in the bedrooms and ceiling fans in living area. The pool is very small, but deep. More a plunge pool than a swimming pool. It was refreshing and very nice at the end of the day. It might be a problem with small children since it is directly off the house and easily accessible. Kitchen was reasonably well equipped but the basics like salt and sugar, oil and vinegar were not provided. Groceries are really expensive on St John and we ended up buying these staples but used very little. We’ve stayed at many VRBO spots, and although this one was fine, we would not stay here again. We decided to come to St. John at the last minute and I’m sure there would be other places to choose from if we decided earlier. The house sits above a road and we heard horns and music as cars/trucks passed by. By the way, Kiara, who met us at the dock and manages the house, was delightful!

We had a blast! locations was a 10! Claudia and Curtis were very polite and helpful very raccomandate! We also had perfect wheater.

We had a great time here. The view is amazing, the kids loved having a pool to jump in for a little. It’s a great location being close enough to town by car but still “remote” enough to feel very private. I would definitely come back and stay here again.

Mar de Amores exceeded our expectations in every way. The property is beautiful and the views are amazing. Prior to arrival, the owner was extremely responsive and helpful in answering any and all of our questions. Upon arrival, the on island property manager was accommodating and kind. We are a family of five, with kids ranging in age from 10 to 13. Everyone was very comfortable in the villa. Our kids loved jumping in the pool after a long day of exploring the island. My husband and I loved enjoying the views from the balcony. We cooked many meals in the home and found everything we needed in the kitchen to prepare a wide variety of dishes. The only negative for us was having to leave… we will absolutely look to book Mar de Amores again in the future!

Fantastic view! Spacious and comfortable. Curtis and Myrtle were attentive, pleasant and available if needed. Enjoyed sitting out on deck enjoying nature and panoramic vista. Great having beach chairs, towels and cooler available - one less thing to worry about on vacation.

The house and property are beautiful and we enjoyed the privacy of the location. Very quiet with a gorgeous view. Was quick to get to grocery stores, Cruz Bay and beaches. We would definitely stay again.

My wife and I stayed here the first week of May. The views are incredible and the deck is great. All the rooms have a fan and ac and the kitchen is well equipped. House is very private at the end of the road and up a steep driveway. It is a short drive to Cruz Bay and a 20 minute drive to the beaches. Myrtle and Curtis are awesome property managers. Would highly recommend and we would love to stay again!!

We had a wonderful week and stay at Mar De Amores. We really have no complaints and loved our accommodations and adventures around the island. The house was well equipped with comfortable beds, AC in the rooms, beach towels, nice bath towels, beach chairs, coolers and plenty more! The communication with the property management was fabulous and we will definitely return someday. Thank you for an amazing week!!

The house was perfect for our family’s vacation. Kids and adults alike really enjoyed themselves. The house is beautiful, clean and equipped with everything we needed. Hosts and property managers were wonderful!

We had a great stay at this property. Nice to have pool and close to the restaurants in Cruz Bay. Curtis was welcoming and took us to the property on arrival. Was attentive during the stay. Suggestions-make sure rental car company lets you park at their property while visiting Cruz bay. Only complaint is that the tv and WiFi could use updating. WiFi needs a mesh system through the house. Love St. John beaches!

A good choice for us. On the whole the property served us well. Great beds, showers, and kitchen equipment. A number of small problems that seemed inconsistent with the price of the property: (water pump failed; hot water heater unplugged by electrician who fixed pump; failed smoke alarm; leaks in heavy rain). The property manager was very responsive and effective.

The family had a wonderful time in St John staying at this beautiful VRBO in the Chocolate Hole area just outside of Cruz Bay. Everything about our experience was a 5-star stay. We're pretty picky about our travel experiences, and this rental and the owner and their on-island staff met and exceeded all of our expectations. The only caveat that I could mention is you will need a 4-wheel drive vehicle to get up to the property which is the final home at the end of the road, as the final portion of the drive to get to the villa is pretty steep including a couple of those St John switchbacks we all know and love. Day One, it was an adventure (that I loved, but the Mrs was quite nervous). But days 2-7 it became easier and easier to trek. The villa itself was fantastic, exactly as advertized. And the views were amazing, again just as pictured and advertized. We cooked in house three times, and we ate out in Cruz Bay at night three times. The villa had everything we needed to cook in, and it was conveniently close to Cruz Bay for those evenings out.

The property is amazing. We had 4 adults and had more than sufficient room. We had a couple of issues but they were taken care of immediately by Curtis. We would definitely return to this property.

We had an incredible stay and the home had absolutely everything we needed for our beach vacation. House was clean, well stocked, and had one of the most amazing views imaginable. Would definitely recommend this home!

Excellent hosts! Communication was clear and when we arrived on St John we had a personal escort to the property. We arrived in the dark and woke to a spectacular view. The property is clean and well maintained with everything you need to enjoy this dreamy island. We would absolutely stay here again.

This little house was everything we needed it to be. It was just the two of us and then another couple joined us for a couple days after their boat charter. I wouldn’t suggest filling all of the bedrooms as it would be tight. The water pressure in the master was also pretty challenging but the guest bath was great so if all bedrooms were full I think there would have to be some serious time and water management. The views are fantastic. 100 percent. They are everything depicted in the listing. The charm of the arches and the warm Caribbean character are one hundred percent accurate and as endearing in person. We did have a couple challenges along the way that may have been bigger issues but it didn’t ruin our experience. The property manager, Curtis did a fantastic job of addressing them . 1. The back door doesn’t lock. Yes, you are on a private road with a gate that you manually have to close and open (but also doesn’t really lock).There is a safe in the house to put anything in. I lived in Philadelphia for a decade, this did not bother me one bit. 2. The washer was broken. Curtis was more than happy to do laundry for those that had just come off charter but we felt bad asking. Ultimately if we had stayed much longer or again…had a full house, this would have been a bigger issue. 3. The power company came to shut off power. We happen to be leaving as he was coming up to the house. He told me I was lucky because they normally would just turn it off and we needed to pay $900. Curtis to the rescue and he was able to address this so we were not without power but it all was kind of just chance. The power would have been turned off and really ruined our day. 4. A mirror crashed off the wall the day we left in one of the extra bedrooms that we weren’t using. A big mirror. I understand the art isn’t anchored into drywall so it could happen but if someone had been in that room, it could have been a disaster. The owner sent me an email today…almost three weeks later, asking what had happened to the mirror. It was pretty clear that it had fallen off the wall (the frame was split like it had had impact with the floor which is concrete). But it did remind me to write this review. As I said we had a fantastic time but for over 700 a night I assume these little things could be good info for future guests. Please be nice to Franklin. The Siamese cat. He loves shrimp. I would take him home in a heartbeat. ❤️❤️❤️

An amazing house! The views were spectacular. Very private. The pool was perfect! The beds were comfortable. the kitchen was well stocked. The house was clean and just beautiful! The drive up to the house is a little scary at first (steep with lots of turns), but once you get the hang of it...no problem at all! Loved it!

The property was very convenient to town with great views. The island power did go out a few times and it would have been nice with a generator, but fortunately all was okay after a few hours.

The house was perfect for our family vacation in St. John's. We enjoyed everything about the house especially the deck with the amazing views. The bedrooms are air conditioned which makes sleeping great and all the sliding doors helped keep the rest of the house comfortable. Claudia was very responsive and answered all our questions. We would highly recommend this house and would stay again.

We just spent 5 days and it was an incredible trip. The only issue is you should rent a car - as the owner instructed us to do. Unfortunately none were available so we hired a lovely local gentleman arranged through the resourceful property manager. We would definitely come back.

Our stay was incredible, we loved the house, the location, and St. John. The house is conveniently located near Cruz Bay, shopping, groceries...etc. It is very private and has a spectacular view!!! The caretakers were excellent and very responsive.

Easy to book! Owner responsive to questions. Pool and Deck view very nice! Clean. Location very good. Had easy access to beaches and Cruz Bay. Would have liked to have had more bath towels. Would definitely stay here again. One recommendation for owner: Too many small throw rugs. Safety hazard. Slippery on tile.
