Beautiful scenery in a lovely location. Perfect for lounging with a good book or breakfast on the deck!
Indoors would benefit from updating in the kitchen and bathroom especially. We really enjoyed the great room, and the kitchen had plenty of dishes, etc.
If you’re looking for a good place to enjoy the lake, though, this is great!
The host was super to communicate with and supplied loads of towels. She even baked fresh cookies to welcome us! - they were excellent!

We loved the outdoor space (deck, lower patio, view of the lake, and dock). The family room area and dining room were also fantastic to hang out in!

Beautiful home and great location on the lake and within driving distance of everything. Wide open concept kitchen living room and dining room with beautiful views of the lake. Definitely stay here again! Great communication with the owners and fantastic white chocolate chip cookies!

This is a nice house right on the water of Lake Barkley. There is a private dock that the kids played on the whole time. Swimming, fishing, kayaking(we had our own). The house is on an open cove so there is some boat traffic but most of it is across the inlet. There is a very quiet cove just around the corner that the kids loved kayaking and fishing in. There is a nice ladder on the dock for swimming. The kids practiced on a stand up paddle board and flipping over and re-entering kayaks in safety. The water area and the view from the deck are the best features and worth checking out.
The cabin is nicely appointed we even broke out the included ice cream maker and had the kids enjoy that! If you bring a family, we recommend bringing some plastic cups and paper plates. All the options in the kitchen were glass and I was a nervous wreck with the kids using them.
Communication was excellent from the owner. We definitely recommend.

Quiet, private, comfortable outdoor space. Homey, well-supplied indoor space with great views. Highlight of the stay was a bald eagle landing in a tree 20 yards from where I sat on the deck!

We had a very relaxing stay. Carolyn has everything you need for the perfect lake stay. She even had cookies waiting for us!! The view and the 2 patio’s were awesome. We will definitely book this again.

We had a wonderful time at the lake house. 4 adults and 2 children we had lots of room to spread out. Having 2 patio areas was nice.The view is beautiful.We took the boat and it was so convenient to dock and go up to the house if we needed anything. The kids enjoyed playing with their battery operated boat off the dockThere is a boat lift which was nice.My husband uses a walker and it was very easy for him to get around. We cooked in and had everything we needed.The beds were very comfortable.The house was very clean.Our grandchildren said this was one of their favorite places to come.We made great memories here!! Carolyn and her husband were a phone call away if we needed anything.There were fresh chocolate chip cookies for us to enjoy which was a nice touch they were delicious !! We will definitely rent this home again !!! Thank you for sharing your home with us !!

We had a blast staying at the lake. We brought our boat, went tubing, and swam off the dock. The cottage was in great shape and the kitchen had everything you needed to prepare meals. Would definitely recommend this stay to anyone.

We spent Christmas here. It was super cold outside during the polar freeze. The house was warm and comfortable. Carolyn is very responsive to questions or concerns. We highly recommend renting this house.

WE HAD A WONDERFUL TIME WOULD RENT THIS PROPERTY AGAIN. FIRST TIME TO LAND BETWEEN THE LAKES. OUR LONG WEEKEND TRIP INCLUDED A BEAUTIFUL FIRST SNOW DUSTING THAT MADE THE LAKE LOOK LIKE A CHRISTMAS CARD. THE FIREPLACE WAS A PLUS.

Great place to relax and get away from the hustle and bustle. Lake access is hard to beat. There is no wifi and cell service isn't great if those are important for your stay.

Carolyn is a fantastic host, who was in constant communication and helped me pull off a surprise wedding proposal while staying at the house. She knows the area and provides excellent resources to take in the best activities while staying at her rental. We would love to visit again and would be thrilled to stay here again. Cadiz Home
The property was on a great relaxing little cove of Barley lake. My favorite part was definitely laying on the chaise lounge on the back deck and listening to the leaves rustle at the end of the day. The dock itself is worn and we were a bit afraid the ladder wouldn't hold us getting in the water but it worked just fine for us to take a swim. This would be a great house to stay at if you had a boat you could take out on the lake. We were in the area to see the buffalo at the preserve which were amazing and hike. We got to see the whole heard around dinner time and some elk as well. I did not bring any hand soap which was not available in this house anywhere that we could find but there was dish soap we made it work. but other than that we brought all our food and we had some delicious meals on the back deck that we prepared on the gas grill for which the host provided propane. We were also unable to locate salt and pepper in the house so make sure to pack yours! The host had left a nice bit of sticks and brush in the fire pit for us on the first night which was much appreciated so we didn't even have to go collect our own off the shore line area. Overall a good stay. For us driving into the land between the lakes area did take 45 minutes or so, but such is the life when your driving around multiple bodies of water!

Quiet with a great view
This was my family’s first trip to this lake. The weekend was great, memorable and relaxing. This home was warm and inviting. The host was supportive, replied in a timely manner any time I had a question, was respectful of our family time, and is someone I would like to work with for future trips. The view was amazing from the back porch. My parents enjoyed being able to fish off the dock first thing in the morning. This area of the lake is a great spot to kayak in as there is a small cove to the left of the property. We enjoyed seeing some of the wildlife right in the backyard!

Peaceful Getaway
Couldn't have asked for a better stay! My kiddos loved having their own rooms and we loved the view from ours, beds allowed us to get amazing rest each night. We walked down to enjoy the dock and view as often as possible. Which we could easily do from either the top or bottom decking areas (and inside) as well, making storms, sunsets, and even a cloudy day picturesque. Host was quick to respond whenever we reached out with questions. We will cherish the memories made here for years to come!

Relaxing Lakeside Getaway
This property was perfect for us!! The owner, Carolyn, provided great communication! She and her husband even dropped everything and came to the house to fix a small issue our first morning there. Great location, quiet neighborhood, so close to a boat ramp & marina! Plenty of room for our family and our pontoon. Plenty of things for the 13 year olds to do. The home was so well equipped, that if I hadn’t forgotten a few groceries, we wouldn’t have had to even go to town. But I’m glad we did! Cadiz is such a cute little town & Hancocks is a great little family owned grocery/deli! Barkley State Park Marina was nice as well! I don’t think we met an unfriendly person our entire visit. I recommend checking out LBL and making a quick trip to Dover, TN to check out Fort Donelson. Also, be sure to wake up early to catch a sunrise from the deck. We will definitely be returning!!

Great Lake Visit
House was well located overlooking beautiful lake. Very clean and organized, owner was very easy to communicate with and very kind. Our family of 4 had a great time swimming off the dock and playing games and cards in the evening. Fantastic big dining table and ample deck furniture for outdoor seating. Nice fire pit. Exactly as advertised and photographed in listing. We had a great time.

Barkley Lake
A great home away from home. The view is wonderful the beds comfortable the dining area really nice and it is a great place to go relax. We also caught a bunch of fish from the dock.

Great Vacation
Beautiful views, beautiful home. Owners were great, had a small electrical issue and they had it fixed within a couple hours. The home was clean and comfy and homey. Kids has so much fun jumping off the dock and kayaking on the lake.

Great view, poor maintinance.
Great view, good location. Property in poor condition, needs a lot of maintinance. Entrance sidewalk cracked, trip hazard. Inside, dated but functional. Rear deck tired cracked. Gas grill filthy. Fire pit unusable, standing water, mosquito breeding ground. Very steep hill down to boat dock, sidewalk broken and unusable. Very difficult to reach dock from the gouse. Dock barely usable mane partials rotted deck boards, several large holes rotted in dock. My wife could not negate the climb from the dock to the house. Would be an excellent location with a lot of maintinance.

Beautiful Lake house
My husband and I had a wonderful time at the lake house. The views were beautiful and the house was very cozy, intimate and clean. The owner Carolyn left delicious cookies for us as a welcoming gift; which was extremely nice. Her house made us feel comfortable and at home. When our vacation came to a end, we were not ready to go. Thank you Carolyn for sharing your lake house.

PERFECT
The area/neighborhood was nice and scenic. The lake house was perfect. The pics on Vrbo don’t do it justice. Everything was clean inside and out and the dock offers great swimming and fishing. We dropped an underwater night fishing light from end of dock and the kids loved catching fish like this. We brought a boat and the launch is very close. Carolyn really does make cookies for guests and they didn’t last long (very good).there is a welcome packet that features helpful info on the area for anything ranging from groceries, restaurants to recreational and sight seeing places. Our signal with Sprint was sketchy and we couldn’t Google where to go so this packet was very helpful. We didn’t miss WiFi at all. Old school ways are good for you now and then!

The property was great, the owner was very nice and communicated every step of the way. The dock was great for renting a boat. The location is right across from a marina so it was very convenient! This was our second stay here and we had a blast!

Wonderful place to unwind and catch up
This was a great trip. We met our adult children and it was a good fit. There was plenty of room to spread out but also a great room for visiting one another. I thought the single bathroom would be an issue but it turned out not to be. The dock is one of the older ones but was perfectly serviceable and oh so convenient! When we arrived there wasn’t a key in the lockbox but upon calling carolyn (she answered right away) she was there shortly with a key and making sure it worked. All in all we enjoyed ourselves very much. It is an older property but well kept and a great place to unwind. We would go back again.
