My family and I always use Vrbo for our rental vacation but this time the host Renee was so nice and responsive that make our stay even better. The house is comfortable and it’s close to the beach walking. They have everything you could need and even more. We really enjoyed our stay at La Jolla in this magnificent home.

Overall everything was great. AC worked great. Comfortable beds, excellent grill, back yard, spacious living room. The location of the turn-off of Torre Pines can be loud with police sirens and traffic in general. However, with the timing of the traffic lights, is NOT difficult to get out of the driveway. I would rent this house again.

La Jolla was amazing
Great location of property( even though it is a busy street)
House itself is super dated, and needs better cleanliness ( cobwebs in dining room), many switches do not work, Television and furniture is really old), yet this house has a lot of old world charm and yard has a lot of character with amazing trees. Also thoughtful stocking of beach towels, chairs. Kitchen has adequate but minimal utensils etc.
Overall a decent stay in a wonderful city ..

Home away from home
Great location, great backyard, lots of space for kids to play, short walk to the beach and shops, restaurants. Even though the house is on a busy crossroads it was very quiet. Outside shower worked well after a long day on the beach, also had plenty of beach amenities to use. We will definitely come back

Nice Location
While a quick dusting and vacuuming for spiders and cobwebs would have made my daughters' and wife's first impression much better, we enjoyed our stay. I suggested perhaps this is just the nature of the area with year-round warm weather lots of mature vegetation nearby. A little initial work and clean-up took care of the problem. The property appeared aged compared to what I could see in the photos but was still completely functional. The tiny loft was difficult to access and had the most spiders and webs, so nobody stayed up there. The property location is very nice, with a beautiful backyard and large BBQ grill, which worked well. The driveway is steep, exits onto a busy road, and is only accessible from one direction but was not a problem once we learned how to handle it and local drivers were polite when traffic was heavy and needed in or out of the driveway. The nearest walking access to the beach just south of the Marine Room restaurant was around 10 minutes away but inaccessible around high tide. The other beach access to the north was a bit further since it requires going all the way around the private beach and tennis club down Avenida De La Playa. Both walks were very nice. The outdoor shower is an awesome feature and the shed full of beach accessories is a terrific amenity. This property met the needs of our large family very well with the multiple bathrooms, spacious living area, large dining table and great back patio. Overall, this property was very good for our visit to La Jolla Cove, La Jolla Shores and surrounding area.

Perfect Vacation House.
My family and I really enjoyed staying at this property. The location was convenient to either walk to the beach or the shops in La Jolla Shores, and getting on and off the freeway. The house was perfect - it had everything we needed and was very comfortable. Even though it is close to the main road - the property dips down low and is very quiet at night. We were sad to leave. The owner was very accessible and extremely accommodating. We hope to be back soon.

Perfect getaway
We recently returned from a week long stay at La Jolla Shores. It was the perfect getaway and escape from the Arizona heat. The house was very comfortable and well stocked with everything we needed. We even ate most meals at the house and found everything we needed to prepare and cook everything. The back yard was perfect to enjoy the cool weather, BBQ, and we ate most of our dinners outside. The location of the house was also great for us. We walked everywhere. We walked to the beach, to restaurants, to the farmers market on Sunday, the Coast Trail, etc. In fact we parked the car in the driveway when we arrived and did not use it again until we left a week later! The owner(and her daughter) were great. They were so easy to deal with and provided some great information about the area and things to do. I would definitely recommend this property and will stay here again when I return to San Diego.

Loved every minute
We took our children and grandchildren. The house was perfect for all of us and a very short walk to the beach. We even extended our stay a couple of days. We will do this again. Thank you to the owners for being so easy to work with.

Nice home and backyard...steep short driveway!
Was not told renovations were going on, picture of driveway on website appears to be long and level...very steep and not easy to access with wheelchairs or walkers! Backing out of driveway into traffic proved to be challenging also! Nice home overall, but for those with elderly or mobile challenged, was a little difficult!

Vacation at 7928 LaJolla Shores
This property accommodated my family of 5 adults and 2 toddlers very nicely. The private back yard was very nice to relax in and let the children run in. The kitchen had plenty of dishes and pots and pans. There were plenty of towels for all of us.
The beach is only a very short 10 minute walk. We were able to bring beach toys from the house to the beach. The sunsets were so beautiful.

Great location! Perfect for family gathering!
We came here for thanksgiving with the family - 5 adults and one toddler. While the house is a bit older, The location is great - close to the beach and downtown La Jolla. Had large dining room and family room along with great outdoor area. One of the bathrooms was on the smaller side so we only used it as a half bath. Perfect for a family gathering.

Great days at a beautiful beach!
Large comfortable home with everything we needed. Ten minute walk to the beach. We enjoyed eating at the table in the backyard. The kids loved it too.

great family house!
Everything at this place was great the location, the yard and the owners had everthing you needed as far as amenities go! even stocked shampoo and soap! the beds were very comfy as well! I just wish we knew about all of the remodeling going in next door...lots if noise first thing in the am. but overall a great find!

Perfect home for our beach vacation
The home had all of the essentials for our week beach vacation. The backyard was perfect for grilling and relaxing after long days at the beach. We enjoyed everything about it this stay. Easy 15 minute walk to the beach, playground and many restaurants. The owners were very responsive if we had questions!!! No complaints

Comfortable Beds, Great Patio, Central Location
We stayed two weeks at this house while recovering from a procedure at UCSD. The house is a short walk to La Jolla Beach. The walk to the beach has a number of shops and local restaurants. If you are up for a little more shopping and excitement, La Jolla Cove is a picturesque walk via Coast Walk Trail, or a 5-minute Lyft ride away. It was only two of us, but we could easily have had 6 people in the house with plenty of room to spare.

The house is beautiful, great location and the owner is kind and gracious!
The house is very big, nicely decorated and well stocked with all the essentials. The location is great with only a 10 minute walk to La Jolla Shores beach and many dining options. The owner is great to work with: timely, kind and friendly. She even left a bowl of fruit for us to enjoy during our stay (this is the first time, we've gotten this special treat in four years of VRBO vacation rentals!). I would highly recommend this house and we look forward to going back again next year!

Lovely La Jolla Home
We enjoyed this lovely home, and the proximity to the beach was great. The yard is gorgeous and you could hear the ocean very late at night when traffic noise quieted down. (There is traffic noise that could bother you if you had to have the windows open.) There were a few lags in communication with the owner, but it all worked out. Our family of 5 plus a guest had plenty of room and privacy. The neighborhood is nice to walk through on your way to the beach or the shops.

Family Spring Break 2016
We had a great experience at this home. As others have mentioned, it's a great spot for families of young children. The back yard was a nice, safe place for our two year old to play. The wagon got us to and from the beach 2-3 times each day (10 minute walk). We prepared food in the kitchen and the backyard grill. The house is stocked with bath towels, beach towels, sand toys, wake boards. We just showed up with our clothes and were set for the week!

This property is everything we expected and more!
The house is located in the La Jolla Shores neighborhood and withing walking distance of fabulous restaurants and shopping. The beach is also a short 10 minute walk. Everything we needed was supplied with the house; i.e, cooking utensils, laundry supplies, linens, beach toys, etc... We spent most of our time in the beautiful backyard when we weren't at one of the neighborhood restaurants or beach. The barbecue was a blessing. I would recommend the house to a family with small children as well as to anyone else interested in a very comfortable, easily accessible beach house. We will definitely be back.

Thoroughly enjoyed our 11 days in this La Jolla home, just a short 10 minute walk from the beach at La Jolla Shores. Everything needed for a day at at the beach was at the home (beach chairs, toys, and a wagon to carry it all!) House was perfect for 3 adults and an active 2 year old. Loved the secluded (and completely fenced) backyard; it was great for a toddler to play in, and also for eating al fresco. Conveniently located close to I-5 and H-52, we were just a short ride from the zoo, the aquarium, and the drive to East San Diego County to attend a wedding was no fuss.

Property was as pictured. Clean & well stocked - boogie boards, spices in kitchen, plenty of dishes, towels, tools for grilling, etc. Fenced backyard added nice space for kids to stretch their legs in the grass & plenty of seating for grown ups to enjoy the gorgeous CA weather in the shade.

This home was exactly what we were hoping for. Perfect! We stayed at this beautiful family home for 4 days and we enjoyed everyday of it. I can truly say it felt like our home away from home.
We had a graduation celebration for our daughter who is now a Doctor from UCSD! We cooked indoors and outdoors on that marvelous grill! The patio outside is great for such an occasion.
The location is convenient. There are Shops, restaurants, and the beach nearby.
The owner is very caring and personable. She was available to answer any questions I had.
We couldn't have asked for a better place with it's location for the price. If we ever come to stay in the San Diego area again. We would definitely choose this home to stay again! Loved it!!

We rented this house for the 5 days surrounding our son's wedding. It was perfect for my husband and me as well as four extended family members. Being all together in the same space and being able to make our meals together made the trip more special. The outdoor patio grill area was in use every night for cookout dinners and was also the perfect spot for creating the flower arrangements for the rehearsal dinner. We ate all of our meals out on the patio. The laundry was a plus as we did not have to pack as many articles of clothing.Less luggage! Beach equipment and beach towels came in handy. The owner was very responsive and friendly - phoned to make sure she had the door code for us, and allowed us to enter the property earlier than the check in time. That was much appreciated as we would have had 5 hours to wait after a very early morning flight. I would certainly recommend this spot to a friend.

Great house... had more than enough room for our two families. The outdoor BBQ space was awesome, feels very enclosed from the outside world. 5 minute walk from the beach and the house has a number of beach items and cart to transport them there. Located right across the road from a starbucks which was a good thing for us with small kids who like to get up early. Ample parking. Overall great stay, would definitely come back!

We absolutely loved our stay! Vivian was very helpful and informative. Close to the beach, used the wagon available to go to and from the beach. We felt safe with our families, great restaurants nearby! Is on a busy street but didn't need to cross it on the way to beach. Definetely coming back! Loved the outside shower, which we used daily! Thanks again for a great stay!! The house is really for anyone that wants a nice place to stay in la jolla with a calm beach.

We loved staying here. It's close enough to walk to the beach. We rode our bikes to La Jolla Coves and Village. It's a short drive to Mission Bay and San Diego. Went to Sea World and a Padres game. Jet skied in San Diego Harbor. So much to do there, but not enough time. The house was clean and had everything we needed. There were even fresh flowers! The owner responded quickly to questions. My only disappointment was that the master doesn't have it's own bathroom - but we survived. We would definitely recommend this house and would stay there again. Had a great time.

The house was ideal for our family of 4. We had plenty of space and it had everything we needed to be comfortable...dishwasher and laundry. also ideal because we were at the beach every day, we could come back and leave all the beach gear in the yard, get rid of the sand in the outdoor shower and did not have to track it all into the house.
Beds were great, Towels were nice and there were lots of windows to let in fresh air.
It was a nice walk to the beach and there was a starbucks across the street!

We had an absolutely fabulous time at Vivian's home. The property is very clean, organized, stocked and well-situated - a convenient walk to the beach, village of La Jolla and drive to many attractions. Our extended family doesn't get quality time together very often since we are all so busy with young kids and live far from each other. The space was well-used! What a treat for the young cousins to be together. We were even able to have other members of our families stop by to enjoy the backyard and a BBQ.
We enjoyed the beach, Legoland, Zoo, Aquarium, Disney and a family wedding!
We have never rented a property while on vacation before. We will absolutely do it again! Vivian is responsive and so caring. We were welcomed by Easter treats for the kiddos, fresh flowers and set up pack and play for the baby.

My wife, 7 month old, and I rented this La Jolla Shores home with another couple as an alternative to staying at hotels for a wedding. The home's location was ideal, as it was both ~10 minutes to the beach and less than that to a major highway. The home was spacious (could have had another couple stay there if desired), clean, and had a great backward where we would able to grill and hang out at night under heat lamps and pleasing lighting. To top it off the owner was extremely responsive during all communications and clearly went out of her way to show top notch hospitality. My friends and I (who have all lived in the San Diego/La Jolla area in the past) agree that this home was a great find (and value) and in the future is our go to place to stay in the area. Nothing but positive things to say about this rental and its owner!
(As a side note from someone who brought along an infant: a pack-and-play and high chair are available in the house. This was a huge bonus for us that saved us the cost and hassle of having to travel with or rent/buy at least the pack-and-play.)
