Staying at "By the Pond" has become my family's summer tradition over the last six years. We couldn't imagine staying anywhere else. This house checks all of the boxes! We look forward to continuing to stay at "By the Pond" for many years to come.

The house was very accommodating, clean and spacious. It is bigger on the inside than it looks. Love the two sitting areas. The kids loved the pool, the pond with the turtles and riding the golf cart. The golf cart was a huge help with all the little ones. Perfect weak!!!

This stay was 5 ⭐️ for us! Kathy and Steve are very welcoming and amazing hosts! The location is perfect and I loved feeding the turtles and ducks on the pond! I cannot wait to stay here again. Thank you both for opening up your home and sharing your little slice of heaven with us!

We live By the Pond for so many reasons, but the top 3 are its location, cleanliness, and layout. There is enough room for grandparents and teens to spread out when needed but there are also lots of spaces they can hang out together.

We have stayed a number of times and have always had a pleasant and enjoyable stay. The bed in the master bedroom is still very comfortable, and we rest well in it every time. The golf cart is very convenient to hop in and have a quick ride to the beach. The turtles are still fun to watch and feed at times. The house is pretty well maintained and provides a comfortable experience for each visit. Steve and Kathy are the easiest to book with from the beginning to the end.

It was our first time visiting Myrtle Beach and we weren’t sure how our vacation would go. We absolutely loved the house… great location and the house is exactly how it’s described on the website. Literally a five minute walk to a beautiful beach. Having a golf cart was an added plus. Kathy is an amazing host and does whatever she can to ensure your time in her beautiful home is a pleasant and enjoyable one. Highly recommend staying here!

This was the 2nd year we stayed at this house and it was just at lovely this time. Very roomy and clean and has everything you need. The pool was one of the most awesome things about this house. It was so nice to have that. It was also just a short walk to the beach and everything else you may need was just minutes away; grocery stores, restaurants, pharmacies, shopping and attractions. The neighborhood was also very nice and quiet. I highly recommend this property. Thank you and look forward to next time!

The house was perfect for us. Very very clean and stocked with needed items. Amenities such as beach chairs, ping pong table, golf cart, and private pool were used all week. Nice quiet neighborhood. Highly recommend this house!!

This is our second time back at By the Pond. The house is lovely! Spacious! Love the two living rooms. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need. The pool is great after a day at the beach. The neighborhood is quiet and family oriented. That’s why we love Surfside Beach! The owners check in to make sure you have all you need and if there are any issues. I don’t have one negative thing to say. Can’t wait for Summer 2024 at By the Pond!

We had a wonderful girls getaway and enjoyed our time at By The Pond very much. Group of retired friends got together for a beach getaway. The accommodations were very spacious and relaxing. Plenty of space for everyone to be comfortable. Cottage in great location…close to both beach and local restaurants. The golf cart came in handy for short runs to dinner, beach and simply putting around the beautiful area. We also enjoyed playing ping pong, fishing and sitting out by the pool visiting. Kathy and Steve were great owners and very prompt in all responses needed. We will definitely return.

We have enjoyed this house for several years. Each year there are improvements that make it better (like new floors, updated shelving, etc.). We love the easy access to the beach, fishing off the deck, swimming in the pool, and using the golf cart. The house is extremely clean and has lots of things you might need like masking tape or salt and pepper! Steve and Kathy are responsive and helpful. I highly recommend staying at By the Pond!

"By the Pond" is a larger than meets the eye house. There is plenty of room for my family in which everyone gets their own room. The house is clean and spacious. The pool and pool deck area are great for lounging and playing. The beach is a very short walk and even shorter golf cart ride away. The kids love playing in the pool, watching the turtles in the pond and the dogs in the park across from the pond. Steve and Kathy are great and in the off chance that you need something, they are quick to respond. I couldn't think of staying anywhere else in Surfside Beach.

We absolutely love By The Pond! We normally stay the same week every year and we look forward to it all year. This house is perfect for our family. We love the amenities and all the extras that Steve and Kathy provide to make vacationing at the beach easier. The house is always clean and welcoming. We have never had any issues, but I undoubtedly know it would be taken care of If we needed anything. They check in a couple times during the week, just to see if everything is okay. I love when things are made simple for me and staying at this house is so simple and relaxing. With all the “extras” in the shed, we don’t need to pack anything for the beach. The golf cart and bikes are a big hit as well. I also want to say that if the weather doesn’t cooperate, there is a great game collection in the house and the ping pong table that provides hours of fun! We look forward to many more vacations here.

We absolutely loved staying at By the Pond! There were 7 (ages 17-78) of us and we had more than enough space for everyone. The location was PERFECT to be able to go back and forth between the beach and the pool. And the two living rooms gave everyone an opportunity to spread out in the evenings to play games or read quietly.
The golf cart was such a great bonus and made heading down to the pier area for restaurants simple! We will definitely be back! We have Ben coming to Surfside since 2006 and have stayed at several different places. This house is top on our list!

We had an absolutely amazing time relaxing and hanging out in the local bars. There is quite a bit to do that is close enough to jump on the golf cart or walk to. We loved how close it was to the beach. We also enjoyed the turtles in the pond and the cute little lizards in the bushes! There is no shortage of seating and the house was fairly sound proof. I would recommend this place to anyone and would definitely stay again in a heartbeat!

Loved the area, nice and quiet.
My granddaughter enjoyed feeding the turtles, in the turtle pond. I enjoy sitting by pond with my coffee in the mornings. We took advantage of enjoying the golf cart, we rode through the neighborhood checking out the scenery. We would stay again.
Kathy reached out to check and made sure there was problems with checking in and that they were available if we needed them.
Long story short, we enjoyed our stay.

We have stayed at By the Pond several times now and we always have a fantastic experience. The home is always clean and is so close to the beach. The golf cart is a nice bonus for hauling items to the beach and for exploring Surfside. Kathy and Steve are amazing to work with, booking is so easy and their communication is great. The heated pool was great for evening swims. The kids love feeding the turtles in the pond and riding the bikes provided. The neighborhood is nice and quiet for a relaxing vacation. We can’t wait for our next stay!

The property is just wonderful and the owners are great. They thought of everything. It was so nice and clean too. The pool was so enjoyable. It is in a wonderful neighborhood. You really felt like you were in your nice safe home in this area as well. The owners were so much help in guiding us to shopping, eating and entertainment. I have rented in Cherry Grove for years and now this is going to be my go to place because of this home and the owners. I could not have ask for anything any better. Thw owners truely care about their tenants and do everything to make sure they have a great vacation. If you haven't rented this property or one of their other properties you are missing out on a great opportunity.

We love By the Pond! It’s the perfect amount of space for us and having our own private pool is a plus! It’s right by the pond and park area where our boys can fish and feed the turtles. We’ve stayed at By the Pond two summers now and it’s our favorite memories from vacations. Kathy and Steve are awesome and always check in to see how things are going during your stay. We even had a little issue with the pool after a hard storm and they were in the are for their own vacation but came right over to help resolve it so we could enjoy the pool.

The house was perfect for our 3-generation family vacation. We all enjoy the golf cart and proximity to the beach. The house is spacious and clean. Steve is very responsive in the event of needing anything. Surfside is an excellent place for children. I highly recommend!

Perfect house for my family vacation!
This was the 5th or 6th time we have stayed at this house. The 5 bed and 3 baths all on one floor are perfect for my family. The pool is great and provides a break from the beach. Only a short walk or golf cart ride to the beach. Staying at “By The Pond” has become a family tradition for us!

Clean, cozy beach getaway
This was our third time staying at By the Pond. The house is always so clean and well maintained. Kathy and Steve always go above and beyond to make sure their guests have everything they need and are great at communication. We enjoy how close the beach is to the house and the pond is great for fishing. The golf cart makes transporting items to the beach quick and fun. We always enjoy the pool and the nice outdoor furniture. There are several beach chairs and bicycles at the house for guests to use. Kathy and Steve have thought of everything to make your stay great! We always enjoy the continuous improvements that are made on the house, the new flooring and furniture are very nice.

We returned to by the pond for our yearly family vacation and it was as great as always. Steve and Kathy are awesome and they really do go above and beyond with their houses and making sure everything is taken care of so you have an enjoyable vacation. We love By The Pond for so many reasons. The house is always stocked with everything we need. The house is close to everything we need. Our family loves the turtles, the golf cart, and especially the pool. We love staying here and plan on continuing to vacation here every year. Everyone looks forward to the house and the community of Surfside.

My stay at the lovely home was absolutely amazing. The host were very welcoming and communication was excellent. It was a family trip with my adult siblings. The home was well furnished with more than enough space and we all loved the pool and pond. My sister fell in love with the turtles in the pond and all the neighbors were nice as well. The home had literally everything we needed even a golf cart and beach supplies, which we definitely needed and used. It’s close to EVERYTHING you need or want. This will be my 1st option anytime I’m in or around Myrtle Beach. Thanks Kathy & Steve. It was an unforgettable trip.

Relaxing stay with friends
A group of friends participated in a weekend of sea kayak training at the south end of Pawley's Island in May. This house provided the perfect spot to wash away the salt water and relax each evening. From booking through post-trip, the owners made the process effortless. Thank you!

An Outstanding Stay!
Our stay in By the Pond was as wonderful as it was the last time we rented the property. Very clean, which is a must for us, and well stocked with all you would need for a great stay. We could not find fault with any amenity offered to us. The beach access is truly amazing and there are many delightful sights in the pond beside the home!

Great place to stay close to the beach
We stayed here with our two young kids for a week. It was the perfect house, close to the beach and the heated pool was wonderful. The kids loved the nearby playground and got to see a swan in the pond.

Amazing House For Families!
We had an excellent vacation to Surfside, and this house made the trip relaxing and easy. One of the best things about the house is how easy it is to bring all your stuff in! Just 2 steps and you're inside. The location is convenient to the beach so that you can easily walk back for lunch- no need to pack for the whole day! Steve and Kathy are responsive and helpful. We look forward to this trip each year. Thank you for providing such a clean and welcoming home.

Another great stay at “By the pond”!
Our 2021 stay makes our third year staying at By the Pond. Steve and Kathy have made sure the house has everything you need for a great vacation. The location itself is great!. Our kids loved going out first thing in the morning and seeing the turtles and fish in the pond. We have never had any issue come up while we were staying, but I am confident if we did - Kathy and Steve would take care of it immediately. They always check in to make sure everything is okay and if we need anything when we check in. The house and pool is always really clean when we get there. All the little extras ( especially the golf cart ) really put this house over the top and why we continue to come back for our yearly family vacation.

"By the Pond" is the perfect house for our family!
The house is in the perfect location in Surfside. Short walk to the beach and golf cart ride to Garden City. All of the local parks are close as well. No Stairs! Kids enjoy playing in the pool and fishing in the pond from the dock.
