The beach house is great for a large family or group. Lots of indoor room with a beautiful view. Some of the kitchen appliances could stand an update but it was well stocked with cooking utensils. Overall a pleasant stay.

Huge windows and strategic layout give this house an uncommonly complete feel of being right on the beach, not only outside but from the kitchen, the dining area, the living area, and from the huge, secluded top-floor master bedroom. Well-appointed throughout - a genuine pleasure.

Very disappointed in the pictures that were falsely advertised from 2018 versus the actual house in 2023. A lot of differences. The house was built in the 70s and for the price we paid for a week in October, I advise you to look for another house. Gnats were a problem throughout out stay. Upstairs bedroom reeked of musty smells. Carpet needs cleaning. Bathrooms need updated. Water pressure was an issue with one of the bathrooms. Outside steps to the beach was a hazard. The set of stairs closest to the beach were very steep and I can't believe they passed an inspection. Windows were so nasty that we could not see outside. Outdoor furniture definitely needs an update. Updates needed in kitchen with refrigerator and stove. Stove took forever to heat up. Very disappointed in the price we paid.

There were four senior women staying at the house. While we all had a very good time, and the hostess was absolutely fantastic, there were some concerns by some that the place looked rundown. Some of the women in the downstairs bedroom is felt the rooms had not been cleaned adequately, especially the bathrooms. But this may have been more wear and tear than actual dirt in my opinion. The photos online we’re obviously older, because there was a lot of rust, visible boards, coming away, light fixtures that didn’t seem to work or you didn’t know what they went to, lack of adequate lighting on the stairway to the upstairs bedroom. The location was superb, and the beds were very comfortable. The listing, as I recall, indicated that we would not have to bring our own linens. This was not a problem, but it would’ve been nice to know in advance of the actual booking.

This property is.amazing and very competitively priced. We pushed check in, so the cleaning service was rushed, which likely was the reason for a slightly lower score there. (If a 4.5 had been available, that is what i would have done). Normally, i am sure that would have been a 5 also. The biggest positives leading to the overall 5 rating were.the incredible location and the host's nearly instant responses to anything we asked. You could not ask for a.better host, and that is key. Things.will arise, but your host's responsiveness is the diffference You willl enjoy staying here!

Great stay owners were very accommodating and awesome to work with location as close to beach and sand as you can get we certainly hope to stay again

We couldn't have been happier with our stay at Slow Dance, although we nicknamed it the Giant Pumpkin. The location was absolutely perfect for us. The beach was never crowded and it was situated far enough from the town to feel secluded yet close enough to get whatever we needed within 5 minutes. The house looked just like the photos. The views are amazing from upstairs in the Master Bedroom and my favorite place, the main floor and kitchen. The deck is spacious and has plenty of furniture to accommodate many activities. I enjoyed relaxing with a cup of tea and reading. The best part is the proximity to the beach. We just walked down the steps and there it was. Absolutely gorgeous. Mei was very friendly and responsive and the entire process was easy. We will absolutely book with her again and stay at the giant pumpkin.

Mei was quick to respond and extremely accommodating! I think she genuinely cared about us enjoying our stay. The house felt CLEAN and was stocked with everything we needed! Plenty of space for multiple people. The view of the ocean from the living room and kitchen was my favorite. I could cook/clean while keeping an eye on my kids when playing on the beach. It was perfect.

This home was everything we needed for our stay with room to spare! The property was clean and very well stocked with kitchen necessities. The deck is where we spent 98% of our time! Steps to the beach and beautiful weather every day! Mei was very easy to communicate with although we needed or wanted for nothing with the home itself. Can’t wait until next year!

Great location , right on the beach . Home was very spacious and open. Everything worked well including gas grill . House well stocked. Owner responded quickly to all questions and was very easy to work with. Super location near middle of island , saw lots of porpoise, pelicans etc. Sunrises were amazing especially on the homes great beachside deck. Highly recommend!

It was a great time and a great place! The view was amazing. Getting up every morning with a cup of coffee watching the sunrise and the dolphins - how could one complain?!? The weather ended up cooperating every day too. We all had a great time, and would love to come back!

Just footsteps away from the beach, which within itself is great. Get to watch the Dolphins play truly was relaxing and the perfect getaway. Every view was totally amazing inside the house, whether it be from the top bedroom or the living room or the kitchen.

First impression - Mia’s home is sparkling clean! My husband and I decided to take a week to ourselves to relax and enjoy the ocean and Topsail. It’s become our favorite island destination. This house is our favorite for location. It feels very private but still close to everything. You can’t get any closer to the ocean. The views are fantastic! The bed in the master bedroom faces the ocean! I found this to be one of my favorite things, waking up staring straight at the ocean, the sunrise, it was magic. The house has everything you need and is well appointed with comfortable beds and furniture. Communication with Mia was great! She was friendly, helpful, kind, considerate and prompt. I highly recommend her home and can’t wait to return.

Great beachfront location with awesome view. Mei replied promptly and was a pleasure to work with during our limited contacts.....no need for more as very happy with stay. Would stay again

Beautiful house and beach. The owner was responsive to all our communications. A very comfortable and relaxing week.

Walking into the house, it just sparkled. So much room for all 10 of us! Well appointed kitchen..all you could hope for.. toaster, toaster oven, coffee pots, plenty of dishes, silverware, cooking pots, etc. The bathrooms were spacious especially the showers. The third floor master bedroom was huge and as a nice surprise, it had several infant/toddler needs like high chair, etc in the overlarge closet. Communications with the host was excellent, with fast replies to all our questions. Plenty of seating for dinners and relaxing in front of the TV. Plenty of outdoor seating also. All 10 of us(ages 2 to 72) enjoyed our stay at this house,

Spectacular house on the beach with plenty of room for the family. House was clean and in great condition. Was our first time visiting Surf City, NC and we can’t wait to return. Everything was easy; booking, checking in, checking out, and the owner is great to work with. If you’re looking for a place, this is it.

Beautiful layout.. super friendly &;helpful owners. Only drawback was we'd love a couple recliners to watch TV for evening. Otherwise perfect location, Beautiful home.

My husband, myself and our 13 year old definitely needed this getaway. Our older son and daughter and her boyfriend were able to join us as well. Everyday we enjoyed watching the dolphins swim by and the birds hunt for fish. We walked on the beach to a restaurant for dinner one night. We did a lot of reading on the deck while watching the waves roll in and spent afternoons playing board games at the kitchen table while having the most beautiful view of the ocean. Thank you so much Mei for allowing us to share your home. We definitely want to come back when it warms up a little more!

Wonderful house and a great location right on the beach. Very responsive and helpful owner. We all loved the place. Just know that you have to bring your own linens and towels, which wasn’t an issue for us.

We celebrated Christmas early with family from out of town. The beach house was perfect for our stay. The ocean and beach is right there. The porch was perfect for enjoying the sunrise and the sunshine through out the day. Dolphins were a daily sight! We plan to stay again next time we have family in town!

This was the perfect home for our Thanksgiving week family vacation. This home met and exceeded all expectations. Upon arrival, I was pleased to find a that the spaces outdid their photos and that the house was extremely clean. It had an ideal layout for two families with small children plus a set of grandparents. The views from all the common living areas were outstanding. They have panoramic views of the beach and ocean sitting right on the edge of the sand, steps from the water. The back deck is practically on the beach which, at low tide, is surprisingly expansive. It was beyond picturesque allowing one to take in the beautiy of NC beaches complete with pods of dolphins each day and stunning sunsets each evening. The living/seating area was cozy with ample seating; the kitchen spacious and well appointed; the upstairs master a pleasant retreat within a retreat. Mei, the host, was outstanding. She always responded promptly and informatively to any question, concern, or comment. She even purchased a new set of baking sheet after I asked if the kitchen had any. When we encountered a challenging situation, Mei was quick to help find a resolution. There was a lot of anticipation for this trip as we have been trying to make it happen several years. Our trip turned out as good as I could have possibly hoped, and Mei and her home were a big reason why. We’ll definitely return a and look forward to it.

This property is the best! Great views and location is close to everything you need. This one is a repeat vacation destination.

Will not rent again, nor reccomend. Couldn’t open windows though lovely weather and would have been nice to hear the surf.

The house is located right on the beach. Good for quick access to the water. Quiet neighborhood. Sheet and towel service delivered on time and with the correct amount. The house meets the description found on VRBO. Good location on the Island. We were able to attend the local fall festival (oct 15-17th) good event, not too crowded, good music. There was one issue where the internet was not working. Texted the landlord's personal number, she called and tried to assist with the wifi. We got the problem worked out. She even called later that night to make sure the problem had be solved. Would recommend. Some areas could use a few updates but overall good stay! Awesome view!

Mei was wonderfully easy to get a hold of and quickly addressed our concerns or issues. The location is amazingly close to the ocean with a lovely view. The dolphins swam by almost every day. It is close to restaurants and activities. I would just recommend some basic upgrades to the property.
