Beautiful cozy beach home. We spent a week here and didn’t want to leave. Felt like home away from home. Less than a 1 minute walk to the ocean and 2 minutes to the bay. Great food all around and easy to rent anything needed for the beach. Cant wait to come back!

This host is banking location & not about care of the property.Other hosts invited us in so we compared it to others in the neighborhood.
Much of the listing is inaccurate.
The photographs are out of date."Amenities" are listed multiple times but are still absent at the property. For example: There is no tv or cable except for a Roku.
There are no "premium linens" anywhere. Towels & washcloths appear to be from the ASPCA thrift store.Though listed, there were no paper towels.
The house has not been vacuumed or mopped ever. All the windowsills & thresholds are filthy so when you do open a window be prepared for dirt, sand & aged grime.
Every seating surface & every cushion has some sort of stain on it. You will fear sitting in who knows what: fudge?Peanut butter?Or something more dastardly?
Rugs & dangerously installed floors are dirty exhibiting stains and neglect.Watch your step.
Your 1st encounter will be the unkempt patio, Then the dirty windows and stained curtains. Be wary of the trundle bed.Listing states that there is a parking spot & garage this is not true.There is only a single car garage which is manageable for smaller vehicles if you are willing to move the neighbors' trash cans to maneuver. Photographs are all out of date. Be aware the Jack & Jill bathroom requires passing through the bunkbedroom. A stay with 6 or 7 people in this house will be a challenge.
Better if you keep your shoes on and don't sit down.

Sunsets were amazing. We enjoyed our stay. The little cottage met all our needs. Good thing I had a mini cooper that I could fit in the garage with a couple tries (though could have been my poor parking skills.) Wonderful location. Grocery and laundry within walking distance among many and varied restaurants. Enjoyed people watching and surfers.

My grandson, who lives in Washington, was on winter break so we all met in San Diego (where my son and his family live). We had a great visit and this VRBO was our "home base" for fun. Although it was February, we enjoyed the beach and appreciated the beach items provided by the landlords, including the bicycles. The patio was wonderful. Thank you for a great stay.

Quaint cottage rental in a great neighborhood and close to bay, ocean, many great places to eat. Great area for walking, biking, and viewing sunsets. Easy communication ŵith owners. Great patio area but no sunshine there in January. Online pictures portray the cottage well. There was room to spare with just 2 of us. Bikes were older but worked well for us.

We loved this little house. Itnhad everything we needed. We stayed with 2 adults and 6 kids (4months-10yrs). We cooked in most nights and the place had everything we needed to cook and enjoy our meals. I especially appreciated all the beach equipment they supplied. They had umbrellas, chairs, body boards and sand toys which the kids loved. The location was perfect for mission beach, just a few steps from the sand. The place is small but just fine. Kind neighbors as well. Thanks for the great stay!

Had a wonderful week in San Diego in this home. Perfect for our family of 4. Such convenient access to the boardwalk/ocean as well as bay, it’s a wonderful location. Everything as described. Appreciated the AC, dishwasher, and beach toys/boogie boards!

Two of us with 18yr old son. It was perfect for our needs. Very close to the beach, restaurants (highly recommend the fish tacos at Single Fin). Great patio. Space is a little quirky. Either go through one bedroom to get to the bathroom and larger bedroom or access from outside. Not a problem for us, but could be for light sleepers. As others have noted, the garage is very small and the alley very narrow. Couldn’t get a midsized sedan in, but found on-street parking within a block without a lot of hassle. Highly recommend!

The location was great and the hosts were responsive. To ensure no disappointment, be sure to note the parking restrictions and the lack of washer/dryer. The layout can be tricky if you have kids that go to bed early; to get to the bathroom or primary bedroom you do have to pass through the second bedroom.

Had a great time at this cottage. It was enough room for a family of 5 to come home and relax after enjoying the beach during the day. My only suggestion is to have an another TV in the house (maybe in the master bedroom)so that everyone doesn't have to watch the same thing as they relax and wind down after some fun in the sun.

This was such a charming beach cottage and the location was perfect! It was magical to hangout in the morning drinking our coffee and see the oceans. We loved riding bike's and hanging out and BBQing. We would definitely stay here again!

This is the sweetest beach cottage with the best owners! Great location, perfect, small but clean space for a family with little ones or a couple with room to spread out. Great outdoor space, plus bikes, beach chairs, toys, etc. We loved it! Would for sure rent again!

We were very happy with the property. The house was clean, organized, and the patio had really nice furniture. The owner, Sven was very nice, he was easy to reach when I had questions. Perfect location. We will stay again.

Steps away from the beach was fantastic! My Jeep Wrangler barely fit in the one car garage...smaller is better for this cute lil place. Super close to Pacific Beach fun, Belmont Park fun and Mission Bay is practically across the road! Loved our stay.!

Our stay was very nice; the location is very close to the water and also close to the bay. There are a few restaurants very close to the house, but not an overabundance of them. The property was clean and the air conditioning was a huge bonus since we were there at a very warm time (beginning of Sept.). The garage for the car was incredibly tight and hard for me to get into, thankfully we had a Prius so we were able to make it work. Parking would be an issue in this area if you needed to find a space. You are also very close to the neighbors' patios but everyone seemed very nice.
Overall a great vacation with the waves within sight.

The property was awesome. Super location, great patio, and well stocked with kitchen stuff. Lots of beach toys if you have young children. Air conditioned rooms is a super plus for the property to cool the unit down in the late afternoon. Our group was my wife and two adult children aged 20 and 22. As a family we have been coming over for the last 10 or so years to this area of town. This is definitely one of the best places we have stayed. The owner is responsive and a pleasure to work with. Would definitely stay here in the future.

The house is located in a section of Mission Beach that was perfect for us. The beach is steps away and is not crowded like it is in other sections of Mission Beach. There are several good restaurants within an easy walk of the house. The deck area in front is comfortable, quiet, and very pleasant for sipping coffee or a glass of wine.. The master bed was quite comfortable and the bathroom was good sized. The garage really helps since parking in the area is sparse, but you should not expect it to fit a large car or SUV. There were nice chairs, bikes, and beach toys to help you enjoy the place. Sven was very responsive, but we really didn't need anything during our stay. Everything worked!

Perfect MB / PB Brach Cottage.
This place is great. I have stayed at numerous nearby beach cottages over the past 40 years. This is one of the best. Close enough to boardwalk to feel like you are "on the beach," but a little more quiet and relaxed. Great furnishings, good pans and cookware, boogie boarsa and two bikes. The patio is awesome. And then - hallelujah- air conditioning. So nice to be able to stay dry in beach humidity. And Sven is an awesome owner - polite, responsive, all around good guy.

Nice stay in Mission Beach.
The family and I had a very nice stay. The listing was accurate and we knew the property wasn’t huge but worked fine for our family of five. There was a nice patio out front that we used every day to play cards and the house was well stocked with bikes to ride and stuff for the beach. It’s Mission beach so expect the typical human and insect riff Raff but it’s a relaxing, chill, and fun time for the family. As far as the garage we parked my son’s compact car there but with bigger than a compact car or a car with bad turning radius you will be unable to use. Cheers.

Cozy cottage in lovely quiet court just steps from the beach
We loved our stay in Sven’s beach cottage!! My two daughters and I met my parents for a week in Mission Beach and we found the cottage absolutely perfect. We enjoyed the use of the beach cruiser bicycles, boogie boards and beach chairs. Our car (Toyota RAV) fit perfectly in the garage. We were able to store our surfboards in the locked side area and there is a warm water shower outside to rinse off after a day in the beach. The cottage location is, in our opinion, the very best- the most charming court location and midway between the noise and hectic atmosphere of PB and Belmont Park. But still close enough for an easy walk or bike ride to the roller coaster and our favorite breakfast spot, Kono’s. We will definitely try to come back to stay in this very sweet, we’ll-equipped, cozy cottage! Thank you so much!

Great little spot
Owner communication was top notch, we didn't have any problems, but I got the feeling that if we did they would have been addressed quickly & properly. Sven made sure we were aware of all the features of the property, the emails containing the particulars were informative, yet concise, the whole thing was a breeze. Would / will likely come back and rent again. Walkable to everything we needed. Thanks!

Charming and great location
Location to beach is fabulous. House is aged but charming. Layout is odd but would definitely stay again. For us personally, we would only stay as a couple but could see how it might work for a young family too. Sven was awesome and responsive.

Could use some work
12/24/21–1/1/22 Nice location, house could use some sprucing up. Several of the power outlets didn’t work. Shower curtain kept falling down and needs to be replaced. Like the description says very small garage, would not recommend parking unless you have tiny car. Alley is small and getting in and out is difficult.

Great Location!
Stayed for a soccer tournament. Cute little house, perfect for my family. The location was awesome!! Loved having the bikes available for use, enjoyed the patio each morning and evening. We were just steps away from the beach!! Loved that the electric scooters were readily available for the kids to use. Would definitely stay here again!

Right by the beach but not clean!!
House was absolutely not clean. Futon & the carpet was dirty & had stains. Kitchen utensils were all unorganized. Floor was so dirty that our feet were all black in 10mins in the house. There were no additional paper towel or toilet paper for the 5 day stay.
Wall heaters were not working and house had only one space heater. Host never replied to the request on the space heaters. This experience killed it for me that I would ever stay in a house again. Absolutely disappointed.

Views!
Sitting on the patio every day watching the ocean is what made this place. When the sun is setting it’s a 30 second walk to the boardwalk to watch it to down. Place is as advertised. Looks like a rental, but cute and clean. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Left something to be desired
While the location and layout of this cottage were great. I was extremely disappointed in the cleanliness of the place. There was dust everywhere. The ceiling fans were caked with it and overall just felt stale. Towels and bedding did not smell or look clean. I reached out to owner and he apologized but pretty much just left it at that. I wasn’t going to make a bigger deal about it but it was disappointing. With a little TLC to details this place could have been much better. Bikes were nice to use even though they were all rusty. If the cleanliness was improved I would consider staying again.
