Great location. Right on the beach. Lots of room in our two bedroom unit. Fairly priced. Carpets need cleaning or replacing, but overall we enjoyed our stay. Thank you Island Realty!

One thing that concerned me was the fact that the windows in the upstairs do not open. The crank mechanism may have gone bad or the gears stripped out. I viewed this as a major fire hazard! If there was a fire downstairs, there is no way to get out.

Beware of the online pictures! The unit was a disappointment. It needs to be gutted. The flooring was in terrible shape, old worn out carpet in the bedrooms and the tile in the other rooms were mismatched and dated. The kitchen and bathroom cabinets were old and had been painted over without primer. Not enough furniture and what furniture that was there was poorly situated. The TV was setting on the dresser in the one bedroom in front of the mirror. I had to use kitchen chairs as nightstands. The excuse was a new owner has taken over and is going to renovate. Shouldn’t the new owner renovate first before putting in the rental system? We cut the trip short. The unit was uncomfortable for a vacation to say the least.

Unit was adequate, yet long overdue for upgrades. Peeling and dirty paint, peeling popcorn ceilings, cabinets that must have been original, and mattresses that needed to be replaced. We've stayed at units all over the resort, and while this was a good location, the unit made it less that enjoyable.

I chose this place for my family because of location and convenience, and it was perfect for those reasons. However, inside the condo it was very dirty, odd odors, cockroaches under the sink, stained bedding and counter tops, and needs many repairs of dripping ceilings, outdated decor, old furniture, and overall needs a remodel. I have never had this experience, and although location was great, the comfort inside was very poor and disappointing.

This condo is right on the beach - you can’t get any closer to the water and we didn’t mind the 30 minute drive to Charleston! The unit was clean and smelled fresh when we arrived. Other reviews were right that it could use some paint and updates but for the great price and location, we didn’t mind. Kitchen was well stocked with dishes and appliances. TVs were great - we appreciated Roku being available. Everything was in working order and we had a great time! Island Realty has also been WONDERFUL to work with. This was our first time renting a condo and they were very professional and easy to work with - and we’re already planning our next trip with them!

We enjoyed or stay at the IOP. I give the property 5 star on location and cleanliness. Honestly, I am not a picky person but the unit needs some major upgrades. A little paint, a new kitchen table, a new light fixture in the dining area, new boards on the deck are just some of the things I noticed. I would definitely stay here again though.

It was clean but lots of water stains on the ceiling and some evidence of previous leaking on the walls. The windows in the upstairs bedroom were really hard to open. The place just seemed like it needed some updating and TLC. Otherwise it had plenty of linens and starter supplies and the people were very friendly and helpful!

We expected older furnishings and appliances based on the Island Realty listing - we got a unit that had a long list of minor maintenance issues along with a few structural issues, and lots of mold and dirt. We rent on IOP at least once a year and we will never consider renting from Island Realty again. Issues included water damage on upstairs ceiling, rotting boards on the patio, and moldy surfaces in the kitchen and bathrooms that raised safety concerns. Filthy carpets and floorboards, burned out lightbulbs, toilet flush issues and an oven that hadn't been cleaned, along with the beachside patio filled with random clutter (including a centerpiece shopvac) rounded out the experience. Most of these issues would have been very obvious on Island Realty's pre-rental walkthrough.

While our last experience at Seagrove was excellent, this unit was only fair. This condo is truly oceanfront; you could through a stone into the water at high-tide if you wanted to, and the view is unobstructed, but the interior of the home is in dire need of renovation and upgrades. Dresser drawers had handles that easily pulled-off when trying to open them-exposing sharp, pointy screws instead of bolts-and the kitchen had loose drawer panels that had clearly been glued, unsuccessfully, a number of times. Most of the appliances were worn out and the number of provided basics (e.g. paper towel, trash bags, basic spices) were sparse. Usually when we've rented, we've found basic supplies available and it is certainly a nice touch by owners. The washing machine didn't spin enough to thoroughly remove water from clothing which extends drying time, and the dryer broke while we were there (which Island Realty promptly sent someone to fix--THANK YOU!). Additional items to consider: the walls, while not disgusting, could use a good cleaning, the fake plants were covered in layers and layers of dust, drywall tape was starting to lift at the edges of the ceiling, and the seating was quite uncomfortable. Also, there was no WiFi available, but we knew that going into the rental. As mentioned in other reviews, beach access was further than desired, but considering all the storms and the beach erosion work being completed, I would hardly hold this against the owners. Additionally, access was a short, beachfront walk away. The pool at Seagrove is sizable and warm, and the grounds are well maintained. Overall, the trip was nice, but the unit was only fair, even at the price point. Island Realty was responsive and friendly, and their hands are tied when it comes to the key changes that would really improve this condo unit. Knew there would be limited beach at high tide due to erosion. Arrived to find all 3 of the property's boardwalks that provide beach access WASHED AWAY. Had to walk up to the pavilion to access the beach. If I had known, would have spent less money for a unit set back from the beach. I know Island Realty cannot control Mother Nature, but they should inform their customers of limited beach access. The unit was also a dump...cabinets falling apart, stained walls, peeling paint, mildew stained grout...The view was the only saving grace!
