We have stayed in these units many times and love the layout. It is very spacious and comfortable. The big bonus is the Beach Club!! The only problem with this unit was that in was not cleaned very well at all upon are arrival. We reported to the property management company and sent pictures of what was not cleaned as requested with no response. Just a little disappointed that my email was never answered. We will return to these lovely units next year!! Would highly recommend this area for your families and friends!!!

Great family vacation
Have stayed in this community before and it’s always a nice convenient place for the surrounding area. Kids loved the pool and gym. Property well equipped w beach stuff. Only criticism was grill wasn’t cleaned well and got very smoky and the toaster didn’t work well. Otherwise everything was great.

A perfect Hawaiian get away!
The house was perfect! My husband and I traveled with our four teenage daughters and we never felt crowded or on top of each other. The downstairs bedrooms each have two queen beds and their own beautiful bathroom. The upstairs suite was calming, quiet, comfortable and luxurious! I slept like a rock! The kitchen was well appointed and we loved the lanai for morning coffee and evening snacks. The beach club access was great and allowed us to park and enjoy the beach on every whim. Black sands beach is only a few minutes drive away. There is a grocery store also close by so it was easy to pick up supplies and settle in for the week. My only complaint is that we could not stay longer!

We enjoyed our stay despite some issues
Our large family loved our stay here. Although, I do want to mention we did have some issues. But, to begin our communication on directions to get to the property and how to access gates and entry was perfect. We noticed a lot of cobwebs and spiders when we first got there. That bothered the kids but I felt it was not that big of a deal. It wasn’t till late in the night when we all went to bed that we found all of our beds were dirty. They all had hair and dirt in between the sheets and there was a large stain, pretty sure I knew what it was, on the master bed sheets. We went to change the sheets but did not have correct sheets available. We threw what we could find over the bed and sent a message right away to management. Then at 2 and 2:30am the alarm randomly went off. It lasted for a while and then didn’t have a problem with it for the rest of the stay. We did find a few other cleanliness issues but the house was a wonderful house and we would stay here again. The management company did respond and tried to make it right but the cleaning lady said she didn’t understand English and just dropped off new sheets and left. I think they just need a new cleaning crew.

This was the perfect home for our family vacation. It's lovely, well-appointed, and we were all very comfortable there. It had everything we needed and more. The location was fabulous, and there was so much to do just around the Mauna Lani area. We would definitely choose to stay here again when we visit the Big Island.

lots of privacy available with each bedroom as an on-suite complete with a full bathroom. Outside patio off kitchen great for BBQ and dinner with family or friends. The community pool and fitness rooms were great and so was the beach pass! Very spacious!

Quiet Family Property
This property is in a quiet, centrally located area. The floor plan is ideal for a family, offering a large master bedroom, bath, and walk in closet upstairs. The other bedrooms are located downstairs for guests/children with plenty of privacy. We also really enjoyed the outside kitchen and patio.
Overall the property needs a thorough deep cleaning. The carpets are dirty and stained as well as the living room furniture. Everything was dusty and there were cobwebs in the bathrooms and bedrooms downstairs. The mattresses are all very worn and need replaced. The toilet downstairs constantly runs. The dryer takes multiple cycles to dry. The outside refrigerator does not keep things very cold. Also, the microwave upstairs makes an awful noise and the turntable no longer works. For the nightly fee this property needs some TLC to bring it up to satisfaction.

Beyond expectations!
Pictures don't do it justice. This property is huge! There were 6 of us and had more than enough space. The doors fully open to the lanai was perfect for a family dinner outside. Location was great, close to mauna lani beach access and grocery store, shops, Tommy Bahamas restaurant. Hapuna beach a few miles up the road. Shaved ice a few miles down the road at Queens shopping center a must. Overall a great experience. Definitely would stay again!

Fabulous Place to Stay
This was all of our first time on the big island and it was great. The condo was located in a great area and the pool was amazing! We went almost every day and the kids loved it. There was a little pool for our toddler that was perfect at only 1 foot deep. We had to communicate with the property manager about some blown out lightbulbs and they were extremely friendly and helpful. We would all definitely stay here again.

Great Stay
I would say we had a great time in our house. The view on the listing is old, the trees have grown up so that you don't see as much as you thought you would and the table seats eight so the patio is much smaller. Other than having to do the dishes because the dishwasher was not working til the next to the last day it was great. We had 9 adults in the house and we all slept well. But a full size bed is not made for two adults. They had extra fins and snorkel gear, a couple of boards and extra swim shoes that came in handy. The washer and dryer got used a lot, like every day for towels and beach towels. I would say we had a great time and were comfortable in the house.

This unit is nicely appointed, has a slight Summer sunset since it is North Facing. My only complaint was the cable boxes were not working, they needed replacement. These should have been taken care of before we checked in. Hopefully they got replaced.

Mostly good.
The property was clean on the surface but under furniture there was a lot of dust and some miscellaneous items left under a bed.
The third bedroom felt like "the kids' room to me. It was smaller, darker, and only had a shower. There was no tub off that bedroom.
The other unit that we stayed at in Mauna Lani two years ago had a well-stocked kitchen as far as non-perishables went. There were only spices, a little vinegar, and a bit of oil in this unit. There was only one small sorter for silver wear...not enough places for soup spoons or salad forks. It doesn't seem complicated to find a better sorter for the drawer. Some of the big plates were too big for the two little stacked dishwashers so we had to do the big plates by hand. None of the cupboards were labeled so it was really a headache to try to put anything away in the right spot. We spent a lot of time looking through shelves and cupboards to find what we needed.
I dried one load of towels for three hours and they were still wet. I called the maintenance and they came right over. There was a kink in the line, but it still took two hours to dry towels. The washer and dryer both seem dated and are also quite small. Improvement in this area would be good since there were seven of us going to the beach and using towels every day.
There were some games in the cupboard, but when we got Scrabble out all of the tiles were missing.
There was a nice assortment of paddle boards, snorkels and beach toys for the kids, located in the garage.
The place looked nice enough but lacked warmth and personality. The wall "decor" was generic to the point of being very blah.
I received a note about a week before our arrival that the barbecue didn't work. I called and asked to have it repaired or replaced. The woman I spoke to told me that I had to call maintenance and talk to them about it. I was astounded, telling them that I hadn't even arrived yet! I felt that it was their job to deal with this. The woman told me that she was too busy. After emailing, the manager called me back and took care of the problem.
Mauna Lani itself is a nice place with a good pool, although there is NO map of how to get to the pool. When we called for help they couldn't find a map either and had to get back to us. We especially enjoyed the beach and restaurant nearby.
I think we would stay at Mauna Lani again, but probably look for a more cheerful, functioning and convenient home next time.

Enjoyed wonderful views of Hawaiian sunsets from the lanai
A few very minor hiccups during our stay (missing beach towels and bedding), which were eventually fixed by the management company, is why I only awarded 4/5 stars. However, I would definitely stay in this particular unit again. Usually in these developments there are no nice views, but from this one you could sit at the table on the lanai in the photo and see the sunset and a little of the ocean in the distance. From the lanai it also felt private, with no neighbors looking over. Although that might not be the case a busier time of year - we were there during very quiet June. This property was large, spacious and nicely furnished, but a couple more comfortable seats in the living room would have been nice. The posted photos are very accurate. Everything you would need for a day at the beach - chairs, umbrellas, cooler, boogie boards, beach toys- was provided. One of the only units I looked at that offered a 3rd bedroom with 2 queen beds so my kids did not have to share a bed. You could easily walk to the Shops at Mauna Lani, and it is a short drive to the Waikoloa shops and restaurants. We spent all our time at the beaches snorkeling and boogie boarding (Hapuna, 69, Kua Bay, the Beach Club), making the Kohala area our favorite place to stay on the Big Island. To explore other parts of the island from here requires more driving (30-50 minutes to Kona, Kahalu'u, Captain Cook monument; 2+ hours to the volcano, Mauna Kea observatory). The rate was very good value for money as it was basically the same price we've paid for a room at the 5 star resort down the road. We've been to the Big Island and the islands in general many times staying at the resorts, but this property was like having your own home in Hawaii! We plan to stay in condos like this from now on.
