Very nice location but very steep drop down to the lake. House is very well equipped, and comfortable, just a bit dated. The lakeside dock is awesome and you'll spend hours on the back porch. Overall, a quaint lakeside retreat.

This is a lovely property filed with so many nice spaces: there really is a spot for everyone. Whether you feel like swimming, reading in the sun, gathering around a campfire or playing board games at night you can find your perfect space to relax and enjoy your vacation. The kitchen is well appointed with many great (extra) appliances and a spacious pantry large enough to store all the food needed for a crowd. We really enjoyed our time at this beautiful home!

We had an amazing stay. With 5 kids, ages 3-7, our 2 families had plenty of space inside and outside to enjoy our stay. The house is stocked - we cooked/grilled each night, played games, made smores, and loved our time on the lake using the paddleboards and kayaks! We rented a boat from Mitchell’s Marina which was easy and close. Highly recommend and hope to stay here again!

Our stay could not have been any better. Gwen's communication was stellar throughout and she was so helpful and accommodating. Property was clean, and exactly as pictured. Couldn't recommend any more. A perfect experience from start to finish.

All the amenities! So necessary to have washer dryer, fire pit, kayaks, hot tub, dishwasher! We had the perfect amount of beds/ rooms so everyone was comfortable and separated enough from noise. I have yet to have a place with a maid or a garbage disposal….but short of that, this place has it all:) the Lake cove was great for fishing and we were able to swim half mile protected from any big wakes. The neighborhood was quiet and beautiful for our morning walks. I would totally go back here. Grateful for our gracious host!

We spent a weekend here for my Dad's birthday weekend for the guys in our family. We had a wonderful, relaxing time. It was quiet, comfortable and the best stocked rental any of us had ever stayed in. She had everything that we would have needed. The dock was lovely to spend time on, there is plenty of space, and the house was immaculate. Gwen was very communicative and understanding. Could not recommend the house and the incredibly gracious host more. I would 100% come back.

My friends and I booked a weekend away from the spouses and kids for a quiet girls’ weekend and this was the PERFECT spot. The house was cozy, but had plenty of room for each of us to have space. Parking was terrific for 4 cars (and there was room for more.) The neighborhood was quiet and safe. The house was equipped with everything we needed. The highlights were the big back deck overlooking the lake, the hot tub, the fire pit, and the dock. It was so peaceful and we are already talking about when we can go back. I will definitely stay here again when I return to Smith Mountain Lake.

My family gathered together to stay at this home, and we had a lovely experience! The Huddleston area of the lake feels a bit less crowded, and this home is nicely situated in a no-wake cove. Outside, the property is nicely equipped with kayaks and paddle boards, plenty of adirondack-style and padded chairs, a nice firepit and a nice Weber Genesis grill. There is also a hot tub, but we didn't use it.
Inside, the owner has thoughtfully equipped the home with drying racks in each bedroom, throw blankets, and everything you could think of in the kitchen. While we didn't use them, there's also a good selection of games and puzzles. Plus, the owner is great with communication. I'm sad to see that the property is already booked for next year! We all would happily return.

We have stayed at many homes on SML and this is one of the best. The inside of the home is cozy with room for everyone, an amazingly stocked kitchen, and an area downstairs for the whole group to hang out until the wee hours of the morning without bothering the neighbors.
That said, this house really shines with its outdoor spaces. The dock will entertain any group from dusk until dawn. The hot tup and both back decks have great views of the water.
The location on the lake is also great for a group that just wants to enjoy the unspoiled parts of SML. Just across the water is our favorite no-wake cove to enjoy all day.
Couldn't have asked for a better spot for a great weekend with even better friends.

Wow, we had an amazing time at this wonderful house! Especially glad that there were plenty of life jackets for all ages (aged 2 and up), ample boats, paddleboards and oars as well as lots of games and entertainment indoors. Hot tub and fire pit and the water jist topped this off as an amazing, relaxing vacation. Got super lucky with great weather. Thank you for opening up your home to us!

The owner was great and so helpful, she even mailed a set of lost AirPods found by the honest cleaners. The back porch was our family favorite other than the lake.

The house was really nice and the view of the lake was beautiful. We spent a lot of time at the dock and on the back deck of the home overlooking the lake. The teens enjoyed the paddle boards and the kayaks.

Delightful property on a lake cove. Made us feel like we were in summer camp! Plenty of space for the 10 of us - 6 adults and 4 children. Kitchen was well stocked with all you needed to cook for a group. Beds were comfortable and having 3 levels gave everyone a chance for some privacy. The covered porch was a favorite hangout by all - early morning coffee, lunch, crafts with the little one, grilling steaks, and watching the kids have fun. Everyone loved the hot tub, and the firepit was twice the center of a s'mores party. Kids loved swimming, fishing and paddling right off the dock, while the upper deck on the boathouse was great for reading, snoozing, and watching the swimmers and boaters. The kayaks and paddleboard were a big plus. Our daughter's family brought their boat, so there were many trips out onto the lake - tubing, wakeboarding and just exploring. As the grandkids left, the 10 year old said "let me run down and touch the dock one more time." As good a recommendation as you can get.

This property exceeded our expectations. Our family of 5 adults and 5 children thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The home had all of the accompaniments one would expect and some that were not expected. The lower floor had a number of games for the children that occupied their time during swim breaks and the main floor balcony was well appointed with comfortable seating for the adults while relaxing or catching up with e-mails via the reliable internet.
The kitchen was well stocked with utensils, pots and pans, as well as a variety of spices to support most all culinary needs.
The. dock area was well stocked with kayaks and life preservers and provided a quiet and protected space for hours of swimming and water fun. The fire pit, with wood provided, was a highlight for the children and adults alike.
The owner was available for questions and always responsive.
All in all, this was one of our very best RVBO experiences ever.

We had the most relaxing week at this house. It is in a quiet cove away from boat traffic. The house had everything you need and the host was so sweet and accommodating. We would highly recommend this place!

Wonderful Property
We have gone to SMLany times and have stayed at several different properties. This is a property that will go on our short list of places we will stay again. The lake location is great! Much quieter and less traveled than other locations. Great for jet skiing and boating without as much congestion. The house suited us we'll and had all of the amenities we look for when visiting SML.

Outstanding family getaway
It was a wonderful place to stay. The kitchen was as complete as you can be- actually the entire place was. So many things to do on the water, well equipped for that as well. Plenty of room for everyone and the beds were very very comfortable. I would recommend this place to everyone, you can't go wrong.

Great Place On Lake
Stayed here for weekend for LU graduation. Location was good. House had great space and many things to do (since it rained). EX: foosball, air hockey, ping pong, Xbox, good size TV’s. But really enjoyed Hot Tub and just hanging out on upper deck looking at the lake. Would stay here again for sure!

Fun time!
Beautiful location and outdoor area. The house is older but quaint and well-maintained. We loved all the extras, especially the hot tub, the fire pit, the ping pong table, and the several kayaks! We also appreciated that there were enough chairs on the decks and around the fire pit for everyone. The owner is super communicative, which we appreciated! While the kitchen was the only indoor area that had a good view of the lake (older home!), the back deck was wide and amazing.

Great getaway!
We were so fortunate to find this last minute rental over winter break! There was plenty of room for four adults and four children under 8. The house is filled with everything you could possibly need from a fully stocked kitchen to a basement filled with games! The host Gwen was extremely responsive and we really appreciated the care she has placed into making sure that her guests have a great time. The hot tub and fire pit area were large huge hits for the kids and adults. We can’t wait to come back in warmer weather to take full advantage of the water activities. We highly recommend this property!

THANKSGIVING FAMILY REUNION
The house was perfect for a group our size, 3 couples and 3 children., so we used all 5 bedrooms. Kitchen was extremely well stocked with appliances and utensils.
We utilized the fire pit although we had some rather cold evenings. Having 2 refrigerators was a plus.
Ping pong table a big hit as all ages could play. The kayaks did not get any use as it was too cold to venture out on the water.
Obviously would be better suited for a summer reunion with the accessibility to the water and the great party deck over the dock.
We had great time , it was our first family get together since COVID. Gwen , the owner was very responsive to our only TV issue. In summary , we had a great time!

An absolutely wonderful week!
My family has been doing a trip for the last 9 years where we rent a big house and just spend the week together. I can honestly say this was one of our best experiences. The house was beautiful and so well-stocked. The cove is so quiet and peaceful. You are 20-30 minutes away from a Food Lion or Kroger, and the drive is absolutely beautiful. Gwendolyn was super responsive and so helpful. We will absolutely be considering this house for trips to come!

Our stay at Promised Treasure
Promised Treasure was the most well stocked house we have stayed at at SML. The kitchen was so well equipped with everything imaginable. The house was very clean. The furniture very comfortable. The porch and deck furniture is also very comfortable. Can't think of a negative about this property.

Great Family Getaway
Gwen was an excellent host and very easy to work with. The lake home was perfect for our family as we celebrated my husband's retirement. It was very well stocked with anything we might need and plenty of space for the 10 of us. The view was fantastic and we loved our quiet little cove. We loved kayaking and using the paddleboard and our grandkids loved jumping off the dock and using the paddles to paddle around on our rafts. We rented a boat and jet skis, but also enjoyed parking our boat and just hanging out on the dock. We also enjoyed the hot tub and fire pit. It was the perfect lake vacation!

Wonderful escape
We really enjoyed our stay at the lake house. Beautiful location, plenty of parking space. House was fully equipped with more than usual basics (paper towels, toilet paper, dish/dishwasher soap, laundry detergent, soap in each bathroom, shampoo/conditioner etc). Having kayaks available for us was a great plus. Some furniture were a bit dated and could use an update, but that didn't bother us enough to take a star off. The owner is wonderful to work with! Not only she notified us in advance that there were no other renters prior to our arrival allowing us to come as early as possible. We also communicated during our stay and were welcomed to stay past our agreed check out time. Thank you very much! We would not hesitate to rent again should we return to the lake in the future. We already recommended the house to a couple of friends.
Ps. Consider adding a couple more child size life vests. There was only one that fitted well the younger kids.

Girls Getaway
Communication with the owner was wonderful! House was fully stocked, including bed linens and towels. Plenty of full to spread out and have "me time" when needed. We enjoyed the upper dock and kayaks, the walk down to the lake was a little on the steep side but we made it!!

Great Getaway for Family group
We loved all the amenities and locale of this lovely lakeside home. It was a wonderful venue for our family reunion. All ages were entertained. The complete and modern kitchen made it easy to feed our three-family group of ten. Our host was welcoming and great to work with. Property was all as advertised and more! Loved our stay.

Great getaway for the family!
property was perfect for our family. The owner was very helpful and responsive to everything I asked and went above and beyond to help me get my boat out of the lake when the lake levels rose to historic highs while we were there, and the neighborhood ramp closed. House is well stocked with everything we needed, and the internet was very fast, supporting both of our kids doing virtual school while we also worked online. Our kids loved the dock, and caught several nice fish from it. The neighborhood is very quiet and peaceful. We saw deer come right through the front yard at least 2 of the nights while we were there, and saw them in the backyard too, during the middle of the day. Loved the property very much. Was perfect for our family.

Simply a great experience!
The owner is fantastic to work with. The property was exceptional , everything was completely furnished to accommodate everyone's daily needs.
