Some hiccups with ongoing painting during our stay that wasn’t communicated, but pretty great place. Has vegetation on patio that screens you from folks walking through lobby which is helpful. Identical place across the way didn’t have it and they were really exposed to the general population. Trash is next door as well as gym. You can hear folks going into gym in the morning (if you’re a light sleeper). Trash room wasn’t a big deal, but a good thing to know if that’s something that may bug you. Needs some minor touch ups, wall paint by couch, kitchen sink leaks a bit, ceiling and fan light bulbs. If you compare to Montage or Grand Wailea, it’s kind of similar, but they’re ~$2k+/night. Should emphasize, not having to use the elevator is a huge benefit if it’s crowded at the resort. Overall a good value if your expectations are set appropriately. It was a great home base for our family.

Best family staycation ever! Although we have stayed at Honua Kai many times this condo was by far the best choice we’ve made. It was perfect for our family. Excellent location within the resort and beautifully equipped with anything and everything we could have needed for our stay. We will definitely be seeking out this unit for our next stay. As a group of 7 adults in two separate units the living room and patio in 113 were a natural gathering place. Many drinks and dinners and plenty of laughter.

The condo itself was very nice. It was clean and nicely decorated. The condo was also well appointed, with plenty of kitchen items (but no cupboard space left to store food). The beach chairs, umbrella and boogie boards were also nice to have. That being said, it was a bit rule-heavy - the whole property seemed that way, which was a bit impersonal and dictatorial. The property managers were fine, but the resort staff were a bit odd. The check-in process seemed like a hassle and there was no willingness to assist with baggage or valet - it was very much ‘fend for yourself’. We noticed this in particular coming from a week from the Marriot Maui Vacation Club (not far up the road) who had very helpful bell and valet staff.

This condo was amazing! Perfect location with easy in and out access, no waiting for elevators. The separation of the two bedroom suites makes it perfect for two adult couples. The lanai is spacious and private, perfect for morning breakfast and evening cocktails. Would definitely stay here again.

The beds were so comfortable and we got the much needed rest and relaxation from our daily lives. When we needed to communicate with KBM they responded in a timely matter and took care of any concerns we had. We definitely would stay here again. Thank you KBM Hawaii!

Nothing short of amazing
This is our second time staying at Honua Kai and just like the first time it was hard to leave! This unit on the ground floor made it easy for our family to come and go with ease, but yet all the foliage gave you a sense of privacy as well. The gym and store are just steps away. KBM was great and even after our stay ended , they helped us find an important piece of property and mailed it back to us! Pools never felt too crowded even during spring break and the kids loved that the beach was right there.

Wonderful stay
This unit was perfect for our family. We specifically chose a ground floor unit which was so convenient with all the coming and going we did. The ONLY thing I would say is that our unit was difficult to locate initially. No one escorted us there and we ended up wandering around for quite a while trying to find it. There was no signage indicating where the 100 level rooms were. We were lost and ended up going back to the front desk to ask for directions. It did not detract from our overall stay and we would go back in a heartbeat!

No Ocean Views, Terrible Bed, Otherwise Nice Room
I was disappointed to find that the unit does NOT have ocean views, and there is no privacy on the patio whatsoever. The room is nice, and KBM did a good welcoming us with a box of Hawaiian chocolates. The bed in the master needs to be replaced, as it has an indentation that makes it feel like sleeping in a hammock (not good, especially if you are a stomach sleeper).
Hanua Kai is a decent place, but the spa is a joke. Just splurge and go to the Montage Spa in Kapalua instead. If you are on a budget, just go anywhere else ;)

This is our second stay in the Honua Kai and again it did not disappoint! Fabulous location and spacious, neat accommodations. Enjoyed every minute of our visit. We will definitely be back again!

Maui never disappoints...
We arrived during a tropical storm which played havoc on the experience... our check in went smoothly, the room was very nice. The living room furniture could use an update but was in good condition. The only real disappointment was that no one ever came to spray off our veranda the whole week we were there (we were on the ground floor) so it was difficult not to track mud in. Overall, we enjoyed our stay very much.

Vacation in paradise.
Accommodations were clean, quiet, well equipped and spacious for the price in the area and compared to a hotel suite. I knew it was more of a condo that rents to vacationers so I wasn’t expecting Ritz Carlton level service. I was pleased with the service available and would highly recommend this rentals for families. We comfortably fit 2 adults and 4 teenagers in our condo. Extended lanai was perfect for cool evenings spent sitting outdoors or private sunning or napping during the day. The bellman were super nice but appeared to be understaffed. Minor inconvenience at most. The Konea tower market was well stocked and reasonably priced for the market. Overall, a GREAT vacation!!

The prefect place for families!
This was the best vacation we have ever had. We rented two condos at Honua kai for 6 adults and 3 kids (3,8,10). There are pools for every age and swim ability. Loved the baby pools. Having the full kitchen was a must! The little store to buy butter, limes..all the things you forget at the store was awesome. There is a large grocery store within walking distance. The beach at the property is awesome and the condos provided everything you need! Floaties, towels, cooler, boogie boards. The beds were comfy and lots of space on the patio to gather. Loved the ground level so the kids could come and go. Wish there were more amenities on the condo-shampoos etc. overall, just a perfect set up. Loved the grills by the pool! A very well maintained property that I would recommend to anyone!

Perfect spot for families
Honoa Kai is clearly the nicest property on this stretch of beach and has great pools for kids. With Duke's on property and additional restaurants next door at the Westin, there is no real need to leave. We loved our unit with the semi-private Lanai and the kids loved being able to run right out the door down to the pool.

This was our first trip to Hawaii and we absolutely loved it! The condo was beautiful and the amenities wonderful! We chose this condo for its location and amenities - it did not disappoint. We were just down the hall from the lobby, mini-Mart, spa and fitness center. Convenience without the noise. We loved the lanai! It was mostly private but if you're looking for absolute privacy this may not be for you. The few issues we had were mostly operator error (our fault) and KBM was super responsive and fixed it all within a couple hours. (I.e. fan not working & a.c. not working) They even got us in into the room early on our arrival day.
Hints from our trip...
1. Wear water shoes! If you want to go in the ocean right in front of the condo be very careful. The rocks are very sharp. Our daughter cut her feet in the first 5 minutes. The surf was a little rough in this location. We ended up driving to Napili Bay. No shoes necessary. Clear, calm water with a sandy bottom.
2. Don't touch the thermostat. That's why the a.c. stopped working. If it's not chilling to your liking, just call them and they'll make it work.
3. Beds were amazing! Id like to find out what kind of mattress was in the master.
Best one I've ever slept on!
4. The kitchen is very well equipped! We stopped at Costco after we got our car at the airport and stocked up for the week. We were able to cook all our meals except 2. We ate those at Duke's and The Old Lahaina Luau. Both were excellent and close by!
5. Urgent care is just across the street. I threw my back out while there. They were super great and pretty affordable.
6. Chiropractor is just down the road too. Healing Hands Chiropractic with Dr. Anthony Jayswal was amazing! Was able to get me all fixed up!
7. Times supermarket was across the street too. In case you need more than a few things at the mini Mart. Pharmacy is very good there too.
8. Shopping on Front street was really fun!
We highly recommend Honua Kai and would definitely stay here again!!
