Salón: con piso de madera, estufa de leña, TV / DVD / CD de 24 "con canales gratuitos.
Cocina / comedor: con piso de madera, cocina eléctrica, microondas, nevera / congelador, lavavajillas y lavadora. Primer piso:
Dormitorio 1: con cama de matrimonio.
Dormitorio 2: con dos camas individuales.
Baño: con ducha sobre bañera, WC y radiador toallero. . Todo gas, electricidad, ropa de cama, toallas y W-fi incluidos. Se suministra combustible inicial para la estufa de leña. Tenga en cuenta que las habitaciones del establecimiento no pueden acomodar una cuna de viaje. Jardín cerrado con césped, zona de estar y muebles. BBQ. Estacionamiento privado para 2 autos pequeños. No Fumar. Tenga en cuenta: hay escalones hasta la propiedad desde el nivel de la carretera. Esta casa de campo de 200 años con pizarra y final de terraza ha sido completamente renovada por los propietarios, John y Maggie. Ha estado en su familia desde 1987 cuando se compró a la familia Dickinson, que era la propietaria de la mayoría, si no toda, la terraza. Está ubicado en un lugar encantador, lejos de la carretera principal pero a muy poca distancia a pie del pueblo. Se llama Stockdale Cottage porque se encuentra en un extremo de Stockdale Thrust, una característica geológica que se extiende hasta otra Stockdale Cottage en Longsleddale. En este extremo del impulso, está a solo cinco minutos a pie del centro de Ambleside, donde hay excelentes tiendas, cafeterías, pubs y el Centro de Información Turística. Estás a solo 10 minutos a pie del lago Windermere y si giras a la derecha fuera de la casa, estás derecho a Wansfell o al bosque de Blue Hill, llamado así por las campanillas en primavera. Podrías caminar hacia el norte hacia Kirkstone y regresar al pueblo a través de las cataratas, o subir la colina o pasear hasta Jenkins Wood y Troutbeck para tomar una pinta en el pub local. Temprano en la mañana, muchos ven ciervos desde la habitación de atrás.

The cottage did the job- we slept pretty well and had what we needed in the kitchen. It is a very small property and lacked somewhere to hang coats and out outdoor stuff (of which we had lots). And there is no view at all which is frustrating when you know what’s around you. The walk into Ambleside is a short 10 stroll.

An ideal property in Ambleside near to all local amenities and bus routes. Lovely walks nearby too, especially to the Waterfall.

THE COTTAGE WAS CLEANED TO A HIGH STANDARD, PARKING ON SITE GOOD, KITCHEN WELL EQUIPED. THE SMALL GARDEN WAS A NICE PLACE TO SIT GETTING THE SUN EARLY AFTERNOON, HOT WATER AND HEATING EXCELLENT. THE COTTAGE WAS CLOSE TO ALL AMENITIES, BUSES, SHOPS, PUBS, AND LAKE. ACCESS TO THE PRORERTY IS DOWN STEEPISH STEPS, WORKSURFACES ARE A LITTLE LIMITED IN THE KITCHEN. WOULD WE STAY AGAIN. YES. This was our 2nd stay in Stockdale Cottage and there were a few changes from last time.
This was our 2nd stay in Stockdale Cottage and there were a few changes from last time.
This was our 2nd stay in Stockdale Cottage and there were a few changes from last time. It's still up a steep hill and down some tricky steps but has the benefit of off road parking. The owners have redecorated it and added a Perfect Fit blind to the back door, which is very nice. Everything was nice and clean and we felt very safe staying here. We were lucky to have good weather so appreciated the chairs and table in the garden, and the washing line was useful (although there is a washer/dryer, as well as a dishwasher). The lovely log burning stove only got used once as it was so warm, and there's efficient central heating. This was the first time I had used an induction hob and was impressed by its controllability and speed. However, people with pacemakers and ICDs need to stay well clear! The keysafe was a big improvement on having to trail to Windermere to collect and return the key. Ambleside is an excellent base for exploring the Lakes and the Cottage is only a 10 minute walk from town. For a couple or family with up to 2 children we have no hesitation in recommending it. We did, however, find it a little too cosy with 4 adults. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo
