We came up for our second time for our annual Michigan Ice Fest visit from Detroit. Timberdoodle is a treat - it's a fantastic way to experience the UP, both on the property and in the area, and served our large group effectively. The kitchen is spacious and efficient, with plenty of room for everyone, and the abundance of bedrooms made it easy for our group - plus the sauna is always a hit.

Pros: Nice location, big house, lots of beds, plenty of towels, lots of place outdoors to run and play, 3 washers and dryers, pretty quick response time. Cons: I was really surprised to see how dirty it was! We washed or rinsed quite a few of the dishes before using them. There were mouse droppings in the kitchen. The sink area in the garage next to the washers and dryers had a bowl that looked like blood from someone butchering and was incredibly filthy.

This is a beautiful place! Bedroom setup was great as was the main living area. Owners were very responsive. Loved the industrial kitchen - it had pretty much all of the dishes and utensils you could think of needing in preparing food for a large group. Highly recommend!

Timberdoodle Lodge was a fantastic place--beyond what I thought it would be. We had a super time rattling around in such a large place. We had planned to bring more with us, but there were only 13 of us. The kitchen was amazing and having so many rooms to decide from....wow! I loved the dining room table which was large enough to fit all of us so we could eat as a family. The family also enjoyed the pool table and the kids learned a new game. And, the fire pit with the picnic shelter and tables...who would have thought of that?! You did! :) I would just suggest perhaps one thing. Though I know this lodge was made for those who are healthy and in shape, it might be nice to have a chair lift for the stairs up to the rooms, if possible, for those who have trouble climbing or descending stairs. Thank you so much for this wonderful experience! We all enjoyed it!

Our family had a wonderful say here! The lodge is setup nicely for large groups. Everyone enjoyed the pool table and playing games indoors. The trails, river, fishing, kayaking, and walks were a hit for outdoor activities!

Everybody thoroughly enjoyed the lodge, the kitchen is amazing as well as the amenities. Enjoyed the trails and sitting under the pavilion.

We had frigid temperatures during our ice climbing trip, but 25+ of us stayed at Timberdoodle without issue. The house was warm, the sauna was hot and - fortunately - the driveway was well plowed during our stay. Timberdoodle was a fantastic option for us.

This is our 4th year at Timberdoodle. Each year has been a fun and memorable experience for everyone on our family from ages 5 to 75. Sleeping accommodations, kitchen, living room and surrounding land are perfect for large families.

Great time playing pool and poker! Best part was everyone had a bed and a private room. Kitchen was amazing with a big enough griddle to make pancakes for everyone. Already booked next years adventure.

Myself and my family absolutely loved our stay at the farm. The layout was very functional for a large family and kitchen set up perfect for everyone to prepare food comfortably! The wood fired sauna was also a huge added bonus :)

We all loved the cabin and the fact that we were not surrounded by a lot of other homes. It was quiet and big enough for our large family. We had an amazing experience!!

This is our 3rd year staying at Timberdoodle Lodge. Our entire family, ages 5-75, looks forward all year long to running free and playing on and around the property. Any time we’ve had questions, they are answered right away. The location is also perfect for day trips to Lake Michigan and Lake Superior. Thank you Tamara & Timberdoodle Lodge!!

We were gone to the lake all the days but enjoyed coming back to the lodge for supper and an evening fire. Very comfortable for our crew.

Our family came from Georgia and Wisconsin for an amazing 6 days in the UP! Timberdoodle Lodge was perfect for our group of 10 adults and 12 kids (ages 0-10). The amazing industrial kitchen had everything we needed to cook all our meals and the 2nd fridge outside was a huge help to store all our supplies! There was plenty of seating at mealtimes with an adult table and kid table. The lodge definitely has a hunting camp feel to it - rustic and nothing "fancy" - which was perfect for our crew. We enjoyed canoe trips down the river, catching (and cooking!) crawfish, swimming in the river, shooting clay pigeons, ladderball, hitting golf balls, lounging in the hammocks we brought, and many innings of softball in the backyard. A couple days we ventured up to Pictured Rocks for hiking and a beach day, but for the most part we enjoyed just being together and hanging out around the lodge. The eight bedrooms provided privacy for each couple and the 3rd floor dorm-style rooms were a hit with the older kids. Beds were comfy and there were plenty of towels/extra linens. Tamara was extremely easy to deal with and was quick to answer any questions we had. When one member of our party forgot her sunglasses, they were promptly mailed to us (and they even included a fluffy friend that one of the kids had lost...that made for a very happy little girl!) We take a family vacation together every other year. There were lots of "this was our best trip yet" comments from the crowd. Seriously a great time was had by all! Thank you for sharing your amazing space with us this summer!

We enjoyed our stay at this big, peaceful place. Big is in reference to both the cabin, and the great outdoors. We liked utilizing the commercial kitchen and the large grill outside. It was perfect for our family reunion.

Visited the Timberdoodle Lodge with 15 adults for a snowmobile trip in the UP. Excellent accommodations for a large group vs renting hotel rooms. Had a great time playing cards, pool, and watching tv when we weren’t on the snowmobile trails. The cabin is roughly 10 miles away from the nearest public trail, but easy to get to from the roads. Kitchen was amazing and fully stocked with everything you might need to be able to cook for such a large group. A big thank you to the Andersons.

This was our second time staying at the lodge with a large group of people and it was another excellent visit. Has everything we needed for three days of play and relaxing. Thank you!

Such a nice couple to meet! Great place to vacation and just hang with friends and enjoy nature!!! Highly recommend it!!

It was great that we were all able to all stay at one place. The house was wonderful. It had everything that we needed. Each family had their own bedroom. It was great that all the linens were provided. The kitchen was awesome. It had everything that we needed. Loved all the refrigerator space. Loved that we could all sit at the large table to eat together. The yard was beautiful. It was large and the kids had a lot of fun running around. Enjoyed the fire ring. It was a great night activity. Enjoyed the river. It was so clean and the kids had a blast splashing around in it. The guys fished, a few nibbles but no fish. That’s ok they enjoyed it. Was a little disappointed that the river was three miles away. Would of used it more if it was closer to the house. Tamera and her in-laws were very friendly and accommodating. Great family vacation. Many memories were made. Beautiful and awesome place for a large family gathering.

Great for our family with lots of young kids, room outside for games, campfires, hikes, fishing at river. Lots of towels, kitchen supplies etc. Everyone all ages had FUN!

The lodge provided a perfect balance between ourdoor fun & indoor comfort. The large, well stocked kitchen was amazing!! The bedrooms were clean & comfortable. Well spaced out bathrooms throughout the property - half bath off kitchen on first floor, two full baths on second floor and a full bath on the third floor. Our group had a blast & would recommend it to anyone! Beaches about 35 miles a at in Munising/Picture Rock & Escanaba. About 45 minutes from Marquette. The owners stopped over frequently to care for the property - they were kind & helpful - answering questions & telling us about the area. We highly recommend this property.

We rented Timberdoodle for our annual staff holiday party and couldn't be more pleased with our stay. The lodge comfortably fit our 18 guests and was outfitted with everything we needed. The sauna was awesome and well used during our stay! Would definitely recommend staying at this property.

We had 16 adults and 2 young children... plenty of room inside and outside for everyone. Kitchen is equipped to cook for a large group. Would definitely rent the lodge again if we are in this area.
