Beautiful location, comfortable accommodations and gracious hosts. The view and gardens were wonderful!

The hosts were extremely friendly and helpful. The unit was perfect - everything we needed and more. The bed was super comfortable. The view from the deck was amazing with the bay and Mt Rainier in the background. The location was perfect and a short drive to Tacoma. We highly recommend this rental and will definitely be back to stay again next time we’re in the area!

This wonderful studio is a little slice of heaven, located on the bay. It is calm, quiet, and peaceful. The views are incredible, and the hosts are kind, anhelpful!

What a lovely, welcoming space…right down to the walking path to the studio. The gardens are gorgeous and well maintained. The owners are welcoming and friendly but not intrusive at all. The unit is bright, spacious, well thought out and super clean. So much attention to detail in order to make your stay as comfortable as possible. You actually feel like a family guest, not just a renter. Loved the deck as well…perfect for quiet morning coffee and reading and an evening glass of wine(or two). Location was great and easy access to Gig Harbor and all it has to offer. We had a great little stay.

The crow's nest was a great find to be away from the immediate Sea-Tac area. Great view with Mt Rainier in the distance.

What great hosts! We spent a month here at the Crows Nest and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our hosts invited us to celebrate the 4th with their friends and truly made our time here wonderful. The view here is spectacular and we spent a lot of time on the deck overlooking the gardens and the bay with Mt Rainier in the background.

We enjoyed our stay. The water view is beautiful and the garden is lovely. Our next stay will be longer so that we can spend time on the water!

The Crow's Nest is a wonderful place next to the water. You can go kayaking on the sound or just enjoy the the views of the water and Mount Rainier.

Beautiful, clean and well stocked large studio - Crow’s Nest was perfect for a couple. View of the bay and Mt. Rainier from balcony makes you never want to leave it. Candace was a great host sharing her kayaks for relaxing cruises on the bay. Convenient to grocery, restaurants and more. Highly recommend.

Nice Location
Friendly hosts and in a safe area… they have kayaks and a small rowboat to use. One set of steps to get the apartment above the garage. No dishwasher the listing tells you that. Stacked washer/dryer works but it takes a long time (2 hours) to dry clothes. Heat is electric resistance and hard to regulate… it has a dial with no gauge showing temperature. The owner could save a lot of energy by installing an inexpensive split system heat pump for both air conditioning and heat that would be quiet and comfortable.

Simply great.
We’ve been traveling a great deal recently and throughout our lives and this place on the water, bar none was the best. Our hi light of every day of the month we lived there were the sunsets with the gleaming Mt Rainier as a backdrop. We delighted in walking through the lovely gardens on our way down to the beach for kayaking. We were totally enthralled watching the young sailors learning the art of managing their small boats almost every afternoon and evening.
We could go on and on but suffice it to say if you ever get the chance to stay here in “The Crow’s Nest” , jump at it early. You will not be disappointed!!!

This was our 2nd stay. Very comfortable and clean. Owners are close by and very friendly and helpful! Great location. The surrounding garden is beautiful and you wake up each day to a view of Rainier over the water from your bed.
We love it there and highly recommend.!

Wonderful Rental!
This a spacious studio with more on hand amenities than are listed.
Beautiful view from bedroom/porch of water and Rainier.
Lovely gardens and walkway. The dock is well maintained and solid.
Excellent parking. Bed was extremely comfortable. We could not have
been more pleased. Candace was kind and gracious.
Because the water was so calm, we choose to paddle from Wollochet
boat launch( about 4 min drive) to the Narrows bridge where there is a park for lunch.
Normally this is a tricky paddle because of the currents, but we planned
it well and the water was calm. We saw 5 Eagles, 2 Red Tailed Hawks,
approx 50 Porpoises, 2 Sand Pipers, Cormorants, Terns and so much more!
The boat launch right next the home is a great backup for less experienced
paddlers or if you happen to hit rough seas because it is more protected.
Very clean and very private. We will definitely be visiting again.
An absolutely delightful place!
We highly recommend.

Visit to Gig Harbor
This is a lovely place to stay. The waterfront is very nice and the owners allow you to use the kayaks for paddling in the bay. I especially appreciated that my kids and grandkids could come visit and play there while I was there.

Candace Rocks!
Stayed 6 weeks and loved it. Beautiful Wollochet Bay seen from the balcony. This is an extremely large studio unit above the garage. They have been updating with a stacked mini w/d, new small stove, hot plate, toaster, mini Kerrigan and microwave. You will have to wash your dishes but the view of the happenings on the gravel drive are fun to see. Candace helped me carry my stuff up a flight of 14 steps. (I’m 70). My 2 cats adored all the window sills! Candace was 100% nice!!! Great place...would have stayed longer but all booked up!

Great place to stay. Wonderful views!
Like other reviews before me, it felt much larger than a 'studio'. My family really enjoyed our time here.

Wonderful place to spend a weekend!
What a treat it was to stay here! The owners were very kind and helpful. They did some very nice things for my wife (it was her birthday weekend) such as leaving chocolates scattered throughout the studio, and even gifted us a bottle of wine! Also, I saw where other reviewers made mention of the small refrigerator, but this was not an issue AT ALL as the fridge is normal residential size. It may have been replaced since the previous reviewer commented on it but I just want to state that there is a full size fridge in the kitchen. Thanks again Candace!

Peaceful Beautiful Northwest
The Crow's Nest is a simple, non-fussy studio. It has all you need to enjoy the beauty of the Northwest- water (Wollochet Bay) and mountain (Mt Rainier) views, beach access, and the mountain an easy drive away. The studio has a queen bed, sofa, and day bed, large bathroom with standup shower, and a huge deck facing the bay with Mt Rainier in the distance. The neighborhood is quiet, the chickens are adorable, the hosts are lovely. In town activities (cinema, coffee shops, groceries, library, wine bar, restaurants, galleries, museum, and the harbor waterfront walk) are just a few miles by car. The Crow's Nest is the perfect place to chill for a weekend, a week, month, or more. Relax and enjoy your stay. It will be memorable.

Anniversary Adventure
We had a wonderful long weekend at Candace's Crow's Nest. She has included everything that you need and the space is cozy, comfortable and spacious. The view of the bay and the wonderful gardens made the visit truly memorable. We went on the annual art open studio tour and had fun visiting the 20+ artists studios. We also took the 2 hour boat tour and that was enlightening as the boat captain grew up in Gig Harbor and knew lots of interesting facts and stories about the area. Fun excursion.

Outstanding and relaxing stay
Quiet, peaceful, and serene setting. If you want to get away and not have all the hustle and bustle of the city this is the place to go. Yet you are within minutes of shopping, shows, and a variety of restaurants. Your nice view of the bay and Mt Rainier is almost better than the owners have. Speaking of owners, they are truly the best landlords you could ask for. From day one they made us feel truly welcome as did all of the other neighbors. We enjoyed our three months there and were sad when we had to leave. Going to miss the campfires on the beach, marshmallow roasts, the great water view. Though we never tried them, you have fresh eggs when the chickens decide to lay. We found the Crow's Nest to be quite comfortable and furnished with everything you would need for either a short or long stay.

Quiet Retreat
A gorgeous spot in a quiet location, yet with easy access to Gig Harbor. The owners are very nice and the studio is set up well. The only thing that would have made it better is a larger refrigerator.

We really enjoyed our two weeks in the Crow's Nest. Candace and Bruce were very friendly and accommodating hosts. The view was lovely!

Comfortable and convenient
The Crow's Nest has been perfect for my husband and I while he was working in Tacoma. It was a great "home away from home" for us. The commute across the bridge was very easy and I was happy spending my time in the wonderful town of Gig Harbor. You can get all the necessities (and more), as well as great restaurants. Our favorite for breakfast was the Devoted Kiss (WOW!) The studio is very spacious and homey and we always had a restful sleep in the comfortable bed and quiet neighborhood. The landscaping is truly amazing and it was so great to watch the plants come to life during the month of April. I brought my kayak and was able to just go out whenever I wanted and paddle in the Harbor and I found good walking right around the studio or there are many places to walk in Gig Harbor or in Tacoma. Candace was always helpful and very friendly and welcoming. I would definitely stay again and recommend it to friends.

Wonderful Home Away from Home
I stayed at the Crow's Nest during a two-month internship in Gig Harbor. It was a beautiful and cozy place to stay. The owners, Candace and Bruce, were extremely friendly and welcoming, and were always willing to provide advice on things to do and see locally - I couldn't have asked for better hosts! Candace was very helpful in booking the Crow's Nest and helping me plan for my arrival. The studio itself is lovely, well cared for, and the view is AMAZING! It is much larger than it looks in photos. I think it is also worth adding that the bed is very comfortable and the kitchen is well-stocked in terms of cookware and utensils. There are also delicious fresh eggs from the owner's chickens.
The location is far enough off the beaten path to be quiet and serene, but is still within 15 minutes of the Gig Harbor waterfront, which has some great restaurants (you can't go wrong with clam chowder at Tide's Tavern) and 7 Seas Brewing, which is a local craft brewery. This would be a great place for a quiet getaway that is close enough to some great sightseeing (Point Defiance Park in Tacoma is an absolute must-see).
I feel so fortunate to have found this rental. I truly hope to have the chance to visit the Crow's Nest again in the future!

Peaceful hideaway
My family needed a quiet weekend away for home, and we found the Crow's Nest just when we were about to give up. The Crow's Nest is all that the other reviewers have found it to be. The owner was very helpful when we making the booking, gave us a warm welcome and a garden tour when we arrived. It's hard to believe the studio is less than 700 square feet, as it felt plenty big enough for our family of 4! It was bright, airy, clean, well-maintained, and you get a view of Mt. Rainier and the sunrise as the pictures on the website show. It was very relaxing to just sit on the balcony, in the garden (where hummingbirds visited), on the downstairs porch, the fire pit, etc. Besides the furnished kitchen and fresh eggs from their chickens, there were flowers and herbs from the garden - and if it wasn't in the Nest, we just asked, and the owner found it for us. Our only regret is that we could only stay for a couple of nights - we hope to return and stay longer! I would greatly recommend this place to friends and relatives. Because of the garden and the view, any time of the year is a great time to visit. It's definitely a great launching point for any water activity, a visit to Mt. Rainier, Tacoma, the Key Peninsula, and other South Sound locations.

Great view of Mount Rainer, charming garden
My husband and I and our adult daughter were in town for a family wedding on Fox Island. The location was very convenient, only minutes to Fox Island but still close to Gig Harbor. We had so much room for a studio with 3 people. My daughter enjoyed the trundle bed which has been added and not in the photos. It truly looks like the photos. Candace provides everything a guest would want from water bottles on arrival to maps, toiletries, reading materials, full stocked kitchen including cook books. If we needed anything, she was across magical garden for assistance. My only regret is that we spent most of our visit with family so we didn't get to kayak and explore the harbor or use the grill that other guests enjoyed. We did have a glass of wine on the second story deck with the great view of Mount Rainer and the Puget Sound and coffee in the morning, just like the photo. I really hope we get the chance to stay again while visiting family on Fox Island. or a mini vacation for my husband and myself.

Our new favorite place
My husband and I are in our early thirties. We live in Las Vegas and wanted to escape the heat for a week and discovered the Crow’s Nest after perusing their post. We stayed for seven days the week of Fourth of July. Candace welcomed us very graciously and walked us through the “ins and outs” of the rental, then walked us through her lovely property. Lush green and colorful flowers surround you in her garden. Walking towards the water you see juicy raspberries growing on the vine offset by vigorous Basil, Sage, and other herbs along your path. As if that isn’t enough already you finally approach the bay that the property sits on with a great seating area and fire pit to relax and take it all in. I can’t neglect to mention Candace’s garden behind the parking area, as well, which includes a chicken coop with fresh eggs for you whenever you want them!
Our hosts, Candace and Bruce were the ultimate hosts. They make you feel at home from the first moment you arrive. They were very attentive and seemed genuinely interested in ensuring we enjoyed our stay. For example, there were some unseasonably high temperatures during our visit. We let Candace and Bruce know we had a problem with the heat and only a few hours later Bruce installed an A/C unit.
As you can see from the pictures, the Crow’s Nest is a studio apartment situated over the garage. The photos and the description were accurate and the apartment was clean and clearly well kept. The kitchen was fully stocked with pots, pans and utensils. The deck was much larger than it appeared in the pictures, with a perfect view of the water and Mt. Rainier every day. Another thing to note, I work from home and am reliant on my internet connection to complete my work. I worked the week we were up there and never experienced an issue with connectivity on my computer or our Roku.
The location is also great. It is a great launching point for plenty of distractions close by. Although you are a little removed from the retail of Uptown Gig Harbor and “Old Gig Harbor”, it is a quick and easy drive (10 mins) to get there. Here is a rundown of some spots we enjoyed: Tides Tavern, Seven Seas brewery tap room, Kelly’s Restaurant, Gateway to India, Forza Coffee, Tuesdays at Galaxy Theater, Point Defiance Park and Zoo, Canterwood Golf Course, The Rainiers, the Mariner’s minor league team.
Our stay at the Crow’s Nest fulfilled everything we were looking for on our “vacation checklist” and surpassed it in so many ways.

Perfect for a peaceful extended stay!
I stayed at the Crows Nest for a few weeks. It was perfect for an extended stay. I was looking for a peaceful place with a kitchen and a view-success. The first few nights I was there, the full moon gave a breathtaking view of the harbor. On clear days Mt. Rainier was visible in all its glory. I enjoyed watching the boats on the water. I just wish I could have spent more time relaxing at the apartment during my stay! The kitchen was stocked with everything you need to prepare meals. Nice spacious shower. Comfortable bed.. Washer and dryer available too which was another great feature. The property has beautiful gardens. There is also an area to sit next to the harbor and a rowboat too! Kind and considerate host and hostess that went above and beyond for me. Next time I'm in Gig Harbor or Tacoma I would love to stay there again!

Great place to stay in the Gig Harbor area!
My husband and I used this studio apartment as a base for exploring the area. It is a lovely location on the water and the view of Mt Rainier off the deck was a real bonus. Our hosts were gracious and helpful, answering questions and giving recommendations. The apartment is light and airy, very comfortable and well appointed and the gardens were spectacular. We used the dingy at the dock to explore the local waterfront. We bought freshly harvested oysters and clams to cook in the apartment and found the local grocery stores and produce stand to provide plenty of dining in options. Mt Rainier is nearby and we hiked almost up to the snow on excellent trails enjoying the great views and vast wildflower meadows. Port Townsend is a nice day trip and Ft. Defiance has many outdoor options and is just across the bridge. Gig Harbor is nice little town to explore, as well, with lovely harbor views. There are plenty of day trips one can take, including Seattle and Tacoma if one is looking for city options. We would definitely stay here again.
