Would love to post photos. The images misrepresented how close the ocean actually is. A good 1200 steps or more so toddler carried and gramps only went once. Nice beach for the mobile. The sand on the driveway made parking a challenge for my little hybrid. They provide shovels but for the price I think they should shovel it between stays. Was fine for four wheel drive. I felt like I was living on Arakkis as the dunes came up to the windowsills in some parts around the house, which I didn’t mind but was interesting. Nice kitchen supplies (stove a little funky), nice towels and sheets. Gorgeous master bath but the shower leaks water on the floor - needs attention. We enjoyed our stay but probably won’t return, would like closer access to beach due to mobility issues in the family. Staff was great about getting reading lamps for us (is it just us geezers that read in bed with actual books?). Staff very responsive during the week. I texted about the shower Friday night but no response to that over the weekend. Not much of an outdoor area to sit and enjoy the sea air outside.

Very easy people to work with. Very responsive to questions. Very clean house with nice towels, sheets, and other amenities. The only draw back is that it sits on a sand spit and sand becomes problematic along with any windy condition, especially along the living room slider. Great views!

Perfect place to take your dogs it right on the beach. Our walks where very peaceful as we only encountered a few people our entire 4 day stay. This house is a perfect stay if you want a great beach without the crowds.

Overall we enjoyed our stay at the Surf and Sand. The unit was clean and orderly and well stocked with the utensils, dishes, pots and pans needed to cook meals in the unit. The experience was unique with all the sand around the home and we enjoyed it as we were aware of the challenge of "sand management" before we arrived. The driveway was open and we witnessed a storm from the warmth of our living room. The home is well laid out and we fit 6 of us in it comfortably. The only suggestion was to provide a better broom and shovel to keep the walk way clear along with a few more towels in the master bedroom. The location was wonderful and the beach is perfect for a walk and looking for agates and sea shells. A great 3 days on the beach.

We actually had a lovely, relaxed weekend at this property. This place might be a good option for a family with kids. The pros: The kitchen was well appointed, lots of options for cookware, bakeware etc., the bed in the master was super comfortable, we slept great after a small issue was resolved, the view is beautiful, the wood stove makes it super cozy, lots of game options for kids, the customer service was really great.... we had a problem with the outside window shade, which was addressed promptly and resolved, there's a garage for your use, with garage door opener, it was spacious. The cons: You're literally in a sand dune, no sea grass, only sand with the sand covering the walkways, patio and sometimes windows, it's not your normal beach house, plan on shoveling the walk a bit, the provided towels are very limited, no washclothes, only 2 hand towels for the entire house, really needed sided tables in the living room and a lamp or 2, the canned lighting is a bit harsh, could really use some updated linen and pillows for sure. Again, we had a very relaxed weekend & great customer service, just won't be a repeat visit for this particular property.

Location was great, but was extremely disappointed with the overall condition and cleanliness of the property. Where do I begin...the property is in major need of upgrades/improvements/cleaning. While all the appliances worked ok, they were in below average condition. The oven door didn't close properly; the refrigerator had rust in places and was missing drawer covers. Washer and dryer also contained rust. Dishwasher was in below average condition. Cleanliness of the property was poor. Dust was present on most if not all furniture. The heater vents were caked with dust. The mattresses on the beds were sagging and the quality of the bedding was poor. The garage door weather stripping was falling apart. I realize that the environment makes it challenging to keep appliances and the overall property looking pristine but it's obvious that it is not maintained properly. I don't like to "slam" a property with a poor review as I know it is difficult to please everyone, but I cannot recommend this property to anyone in its present condition. Thank you.

On arrival,our 2 wheel drive pickup was unable to climb thru the sand dune across the driveway. After about 90 minutes of digging out the driveway we were able to move into the over 20 years of renting bayshore vacation homes, I have never had to dig my way in. Overall, the house was satisfactory considering the lower rental cost.

What an amazing location! Just open the slider and you are on the sand! Plenty of brooms and a vacuum to use to help keep the sand outside. The master suite is quite lovely; however, the other bathroom is well used.

We had a wonderful time on the beach in the blustery, September weather! The house was well stocked and comfortable. There was a fun selection of games and movies, sand toys and kites in the garage, and beach chairs on the back patio. The views were amazing. We highly recommend this location for sand and surf loving families!

The location was good and good views. We love the layout of the home. It had plenty of seating with beautiful views. However, I gave cleanliness a 2 stars. The garage smelled heavily of mold. There was dog poop in the yard (both front and back). The doors and trim are in great need of paint. Greasy child hand prints on the windows. The shower in the master bathroom leaks and had to keep a towel on the floor.
Windowsills had sand in and all around it and sand in the corners in the bathroom.
Now I realize this house is in the dunes and sand naturally will come in the house. But I would think they would vaccume it up in between guests. At this time I would not recommend this home.
They could use some more wash clothes as there were only 4 of them and there were 6 of us.

Overall a lovely vacation home. We enjoyed the main living area, plenty of seating, great ocean/beach views, kitchen with almost everything you need, beach chairs, BBQ (gas & charcoal!), lots of movies & games. No way to be bored. Main bedroom very spacious, the other two, not so much; room for the bed and dresser/tv stand & that's about it (a roll-away will only fit in main room or out in living room - this was our main disappointment, traveling with children & parents). Deep sand on the tiny aggregate cement back porch is inevitable, but could easily have been removed by someone other than this paying guest. A solid 15-20 min drive from Newport is great for getting away from it all yet close enough for an in-town excursion, and close to several State beach parks (although this huge beach should satisfy). Clean and well-supplied; linens, towels, basics all here. It's not the Ritz but we were looking for comfort, not luxury. This place is it.

We loved the location and ease and privacy of the beach. Something’s could have been cleaner, the fridge and freezer had stuff and the hall bathroom shower had hair in the tub.
Otherwise the place was decent and we all slept pretty good.
We would recommend this place to friends with a few disclaimers. We understand the wear the salty sea water does to houses so the rust wasn’t a problem. Just the nature of the location.

The house was clean and well organized. They had everything stoked to make a fun vacation for my family. There's lots of sand between the house and the water so lots of walking. There is sand everywhere cause the house is in the dunes. We found sea shells and saw seals everyday.

My family and I stayed here over the weekend. We enjoyed this stay. The house was clean and had some nice amenities, such as a beautiful view out the wraparound picture windows. Comfortable couches and quiet location right on the beach. It could use some updates as the master shower leaked and the guest shower kept setting off the fire alarm.

Location on a sand dune gave us the best coastal view we have seen,, but the sand filled steep driveway was difficult for the cars and people (all over 80) to negotiate resulting in one fall (not serious). We tried shoveling , but it only helped temporarily, Suggest that owner have driveway cleared right before a visit.

The house was great, great location, kitchen and view. But - the beds were Really bad and the couches too. Unfortunately, all four of us felt the same way. I'd love to be able to recommend this house but not until the beds and couches are upgraded.

We had a very enjoyable week in the home..Very homey and comfortable. It was a little farther back from the beach than we thought from the listing, but views were great. The bathroom configuration was a little odd, but we worked it out. Katie from the office was extremely helpful and friendly each time I spoke to her. All in all it was a great week.

My mother and I loved this vacation home. The rental is clean and well stocked. The view from the living room and master bedroom is wonderful. The beach is very long for a nice morning walk with plenty of birds to watch including bald eagles. We would definitely stay here again.

No one told us before arriving that the garage door wasn’t working or we would have canceled our stay! So, that night there was a huge wind storm with gale force winds. The next morning we went out to find our new car was smothered in SAND! Never again!

Property was a sand dune, therefore inside the house was also sandy. Interesting to say the least. Would not recommend the property to anyone. Another interesting thing. I called Vrbo about an issue and was told they had no information on my reservation. I found the property through Vrbo! Lesson learned.

Overall great place and would stay here again.
Cons: The shower has been replaced, sloppy work, but there’s no crack in the tub. The sliding door needs to be replaced and fixed. Some sand and water come in around the frame and it’s starting to rot. It closes and locks.
Pros: kitchen is well stocked, lots of space, views, beach and location are amazing.
I would recommend this place, just needs some typical repairs.

Unfortunately when the wind blows it carries all that beachfront with it. We had quite the experience..like being in Dune or Star Wars. The house is roomy and clean so we could stay indoors. The kitchen even had a rolling pin!

We loved being able to step out the door right onto the sand. Beautiful view. We spotted seals near the shore every day. We had a great dinner at Luna Sea in Seal Rock. We weren't able to get the car into the garage because a bath tub was in the way, but other than that, all was as expected!

Perfect size home for our family of five. Description was accurate and home was well appointed (actually better appointed than description). Location is perfect! Walk right out to the beach/ocean.
The collection of movies and games was AMAZING! We could have stayed a week and it wouldn't have been long enough to watch all the movies we had on queue!
Instruction and description of home are accurate. Check in, check out process easy. Great communication with property management prior to stay.
I would recommend this home to a friend and I would stay here again. Thank you for a much needed family weekend.

This rental was a very bid disappointment. There was a wobbly and on the point of breaking kitchen water faucet. Master bath shower could not be used, due to flooding the bathroom floor. Second bath had a patch over a crack in the bathtub so that could not be used either. There were the most major issues. We were given a partial credit for our inconveniences.

This was an incredible place to stay and enjoy the beach, ocean, and we didn't even get to experience the bach club attached to the reservation, we will definitly be back! But for Longer than 4 days.

Location a five star plus. Property condition a 2. Most of the smoke detectors not functioning. On check in the floors were filthy and rugs covered with dog hair. Beds full of sand. The vacuum was so clogged with dirt and sand it was not usable. The BBQ was caked with grease and unusable. The property managers provided a new BBQ and a new vacuum. We cleaned the floors and got two vac canisters full of dirt. The guest tub/shower needs refinishing and the primary bathroom shower pours water onto the floor. A shame that a house in such an amazing location suffers from such poor upkeep.
