Lookout Lodge was everything we hoped for and more. It was perfectly clean and had plenty of room for our gathering.
The furnishings are comfortable and the decor is attractive. There was even a huge Christmas tree in the Gathering Room. The fireplace was fantastic, the beds weee comfortable, and the game room was a big hit with everyone.
Vickie was always responsive and helpful. All in all we could not have had a better experience.

We spent pre-Thanksgiving week at Lake Lure and the house was absolutely perfect for our family.
My wife and I were joined by our adult children, their spouses, and our grandchildren…in all, eight (8) adults and five (5) grandchildren, the oldest of which is 8-years! It was controlled mayhem but, it was wonderful, and the house lived up to all of our expectations…it actually exceeded our expectations!
Vickie is an amazing host, very communicative and very helpful throughout our pre-trip planning, during our stay, and after our departure.
We could tell immediately that the house has experienced the fun of entertaining, the joys of grandchildren and, completely out fitted for same!
The house looks great in the photos but in reality, it is even better!
Additional information…Ingles (in Lake Lure) is a short 15-minute drive from the house and is a full-service grocery store. We flew into Charlotte and drove up, stocked up at Ingles (right on the way) and headed to the house.
Important...a stay at the house comes with privileges at the Rumbling Bald Resort on the lake…access to Wellness Center, Tennis, Pickleball, putt-putt golf and so on! We also rented boats through the resort marina and spent an amazing day on the lake!
Cannot recommend this property highly enough…will definitely visit again...we would give it more than five-stars but the Site won't let us :)!

Everything about this house is absolutely perfect! In addition to being beautiful - anything that could possibly be needed is provided! The host was wonderful to work with and provided lots of helpful information. We had a great weekend and would definitely consider renting this location again.

Every year me and my friends look for a place to stay with our families. The Look Out House in Lake lure was absolutely beautiful with breathtaking views. The house was clean and had everything we needed. Our kids had a blast at the lake and the pool. Would definitely go back and definitely would rent the same house!!!

Lookout Lodge was amazing! The house is beautiful, equipped just as you’d expect. Felt like home for our family of 12. We had an amazing time at Lookout Lodge. We will be returning. Look Out Lodge was all it was advertised to be and more. Beautifully decorated and very well stocked for cooking. As it rained a good amount of our stay, we were able to keep busy with books, games, videos and more. Our host Vickie, was more than helpful to answer any questions we may have had. Our excursion proved highly beneficial for our infants, toddlers, and pre-teens, as the accommodations provided by the house seamlessly catered to the needs of all four families involved. The arrangement allowed us to enjoy both collective moments and individual spaces as required. Notably, the check-in procedure was effortlessly executed and accompanied by concise and comprehensive instructions. The resort itself boasted a multitude of amenities, ranging from an inviting pool to a picturesque lakefront beach. For optimal convenience and reduced stress, we strongly recommend utilizing the golf cart to navigate the amenities during peak periods, thereby ensuring easier parking arrangements. To summarize, the combination of the splendid dwelling and the resort's offerings proved to be an impeccable choice for our expansive group.

This house had everything we could possibly need, all in a beautiful setting. If I had any questions or needed anything, Vickie responded quickly and happily. I can't imagine ever wanting a different house to stay in at Lake Lure. And who knew how much joy 2 dishwashers could bring?? We'll see you again in 2025!

We had an AMAZING time at Vicki's beautiful mountain home! My family rented the house to celebrate our parents' 40th anniversary, and this was a perfect spot. Though there were 10 adults and 3 kids (all under 5years old), we never felt like we were tripping over each other, and everyone had their own bed to sleep in. However, there was also ample space for all of us to be together! The home is stunning in and of itself, and then you add on the view of the mountains and it feels just lovely. We even had some deer visit us one morning. Additionally, we enjoyed many of the Rumbling Bald amenities; both golf courses, the outdoor pools and the beach/playground. We rented a boat from a nearby marina and enjoyed a day on the water. We loved hiking nearby Chimney Rock and exploring the village there too (about a 20-25 minute drive). Vicki is such a gracious host and ensured we had all we needed to make this weekend comfortable and fun. I think we all fell a little in love with Lake Lure and have a feeling we will be back! Thank you for a trip for the memory books!

We were visiting for a wedding. While we were not able to enjoy all of the games/amenities, we thoroughly enjoyed the house. There was everything you could need, and it was all well marked. Beds were comfortable. Great spaces to hang out with family.
My only complaint would be that we had to haul all of our trash to a dumpster. It was raining and this was messy. For the price, I feel like the cleaning service should have done this for us. Just a small drawback.
Overall this is a fabulous rental!

The property was great. Beautiful views, well stocked. Owner was easy to reach and gave excellent info about the lodge and surrounding area. The lake level was extremely low and unavailable for use of khakis and paddle boards, which was a disappointment. Several of the resort amenities were not open for the season and unavailable. We would definitely go back when "in season" so as to be able to access the full use of water toys and outdoor pool area. The lodge is perfect for family gatherings.

This home was perfect for a ladies getaway. Vickie was quick to communicate and respond to a couple of minor questions. She was an exceptional host. A group of my college friends get together for New Year's. This is the second year we have stayed here. The house is beautiful with a beautiful view. It was spacious and very well kept. The kitchen was the best equipped kitchen in any house we have ever rented. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return!

This was absolutely incredible property for my family from both coasts to gather for the holidays! It was perfect for everyone, from young child up through the grandparents. There was plenty to do for all the teenagers, and everyone felt very welcomed and comfortable during the entire stay. We will definitely be back! Highly recommended.

We love it here. There's room for us all to be together (8 adults, 1 child) and there's room for privacy. So many activities in and around the home, and when we get bored, we head out to the resort and nearby attractions. It's clean and well organized. With two dishwashers, we are never stuck with a sink full of dishes. And the coffee/wine bar is awesome! Everyone enjoys the game room and the fire pit, as well.

Perfect, perfect, perfect. My family has been having week-long family reunions for > 25 years and this house was, by far, the nicest place that we have stayed. The care for the details (multiple charging stations for example), cleanliness, and comfort made this home feel incredibly welcoming. Host was wonderful with communication (both timely and completness), which was very much appreciated. Lake Lure is a beautiful area - we enjoyed lots of outdoor time together, cooking and sharing meals. Thank you!!

After many years of coming to Rumbling Bald for our annual golf outing, we needed to find a new home, I think we found one for the years to come. For 8 guys who have been doing this for 37 years we all thought this last week was one of the best. Of course, the weather had a lot to do with it, but this house made it a great trip. The house had just about everything we needed to accommodate our needs. The kitchen was well stocked with all the cooking essentials etc. Next to playing golf we love to cook and eat well, and this house allowed us to do just that. We loved the large porch for a quick sandwich between rounds of golf and a few cocktails before dinner. We put the grill to good use along with all the grilling utensils needed. Needless to say, we were all happy to find a new home for our annual golf outing and look forward to booking it for our 38th annual Bogey Retreat.

We had a great time - there was plenty for everyone to do. Kitchen was well stocked. We enjoyed the porch and the fire pit. The house has a nice layout and is big enough for a large family gathering. Hopefully we can visit again soon!!

Our group of 12 had a great time staying here. The house had everything you could want and had many hang out spaces so that our group never felt cramped. We loved hanging out on the porches, making a fire outside, and playing pool and air hockey. We also loved how easy it was to go down to the lake and use the kayaks and paddle boards provided. I would definitely recommend staying here to others looking in this area.

We rented this home for a family vacation. It was perfect! The home owner, Vicki, has really thought of everything down to the very last detail of what she feel her guests may need (makeup towelettes, toys for the kids, extra towels, blankets, coffee bar, beach chairs). She was in contact with me the entire trip and made sure we knew she was there should we need anything. The view from the home was breathtaking! We all enjoyed our stay and plan to be back!

We had an amazing stay at this Lake Lure property. Three families…6 adults and 8 kids ranging from 8-17 years and all enjoyed the week! The house is perfect for large groups - plenty of space and activities both in the house and the resort, and having two refrigerators and two dishwashers is a great convenience. Kitchen is stocked with all necessary items. Vickie is super responsive and the pre-arrival information we received from was very detailed. The kids were planning our next trip before we even left! Getaway at LL
This is our fourth time at Lookout Lodge and we love it!!! Maybe the fifth stay. For our growing family this home works beautifully. Plenty to do rain or shine. Convenient to the lake, pool area, playground and tennis/pickleball courts. There is golf as well. There are many reasons we keep coming back. The owners are great as well. Always responsive to questions and needs. They do a great job of keeping the home up to date. Had an awesome time as usual.
