We really enjoyed our stay in Playa Bejuco! It had everything we needed to enjoy our vacation. The pool was fantastic for all times of day. The house was so roomy for our family of 5 and the garage was perfect for the SUV we rented. The outside table was where we are many meals & plays lots of cards! The ocean was so close / we chose to drive & it only took about 2 minutes. We went to the Sunset restaurant a few times & enjoyed a meal there. You have a perfect place for a vacation Danny!

This wonderful home, in a very nice gated community, on Playa Bejuco was perfect for our family. I highly recommend renting a car so that you can access all the area has to offer. There is a sweet strip mall on the main street that has a grocery store and great restaurants. We did shop in Parrita for most of our groceries because they had a larger selection of food. In the afternoon and evening the beach was a wonderful place to play in the surf, watch the sunset, and listen to the birds. Visiting Jaco, Quepos and Uvita were simple and easy ventures out from this neighborhood. So grateful for our 2 weeks in Costa Rica.

This property was beautiful. The host was very responsive with communication and when we had water pressure issues. Lovely pool and they replaced the hammock quickly as it was dry-rotted. A/C was efficient and the location was spot on.

We have been coming to Costa del Sol multiple times a year since 2010. No place better in Costa Rica for a nice relaxing beach vacation. I highly recommend Casa Marcelo. The house is well appointed and equipped. The private pool is also a big plus. The owner and manager a very quick to respond and insure a great stay. We will be back.

This is a lovely, spacious home with a palm shaded pool and the worlds best napping hammock! Great host, awesome kitchen, short walk to an absolutely incredible beach. We have already booked it again for next year.

Costa del Sol is beautiful, secure and close to the beach, shopping, restaurants and a little longer drive to Jaco, a mangrove tour and Manual Antonio national park. Feb. weather was unbelievable 80’s, sunny every day, Dan Parkins was a wonderful owner to deal with!!

The community kept the grounds in a wonderful condition, short walk to a beautiful beach. Property lacked having face cloths and cooking pots could be replaced as some are in poor condition. Overall Dan was understanding and helpful, had a few problems with hot water inlets scaled up and sink drain plugging but plumber got everything in order. We really enjoyed our stay, Dan did mention that a paint job is scheduled which is due as it’s marked up some.

Yep. This house worked perfect for first time international travelers with two teenage girls. Not once did we feel unsafe. Food in the area was awesome. We all liked the Casados. Beaches could not have been any better. The proximity to National Parks, hikes, and endless tours kept us busy every day. Got to check out the Rainmaker. Danny was more than accommodating and in my opinion went above and beyond as a VRBO host. Our visit was for five weeks in June. Rained every day but one. But that being said, everyday but one was beautiful. Loved the weather. Yes! We will stay here again. Pura Vida! And consider yourself lucky if you end up here.

Amazing Stay at Casa Marcelo
What a beautiful property! We had an amazing stay at Casa Marcelo. Communication with Dan was excellent. As questions or issues arose, he was quick to respond. The house and pool are gorgeous, situated in a gated, secure community along the Pacific coast. Nearby to Jaco or Quepos if you are seeking “city life.”

Best place to stay in Bejuco!
This is a modern, large house located in a lovely gated community. Access going in and out is very easy, security is very friendly. We had an electrical issue at check-in but Dan was very responsive and it was fixed in a timely manner. It's about a 10 minute walk to a beautiful, quiet beach. My daughter and I really enjoyed using the boogie boards supplied with the house. Having the private pool in the backyard is wonderful. It's only about 20 minutes from Jaco if you want to go to restaurants, shops. FYI the kitchen had no essentials: no spices, cooking oil, dishwasher soap, etc. which was a bit unusual, especially at this price point. But overall a great place, highly recommend for a peaceful stay!

Lovely month for a two family group
We stayed at Casa Marcelo in Apr/May 2021. Dan is a wonderful host who was quick to respond and sort out any issues. The house is spacious with 2 bedrooms in one section which was great for one family of 4, and the master bed was big enough for my family of 3. Dan organised an air mattress which worked great for our 6 year old daughter! (Though the huge master bedroom bed easily fit all 3 of us!)
We experienced a power outage but the property manager fixed it within 24 hours. We had a few other power and water outages but only for an hour or two, it is normal for Costa Rica! There are also some bugs but again it comes with the territory and bug spray sorts it out.
Our whole group had a fantastic experience at Dan’s Costa Rican home. The kids aged 4-7 enjoyed the pool and its easy to watch them from the hammock (or from the kitchen window if you remove the hammock).. the Rancho pools are split, 1 for owners, 1 for renters, and booking is required for 2 hour slots, only one Casa allowed at a time. The Rancho BBQ area was basically closed due to gov restrictions (1 chair allowed per table does not a party make). We attempted to do a birthday BBQ there but ended up at home, which worked out fine. The security staff is very vigilant about checking people in to the development, we had some difficulties getting our taxi driver in without advance notice (and in some instances, despite advance notice). But better safe than sorry.
The neighbourhood is really friendly and we met a lot of lovely people there. We didn’t see any children living there full time (visiting owners or grandkids was what we saw). Costa del Sol is a really lovely retirement community, where each house has been built up to a different character. No cookie cutter houses here! We felt very safe. We also noticed that some houses have water tanks and/or water filters, which helps when there is a water outage... it is not recommended to drink the water in Playa Bejuco if the house doesn’t have a filter so we bought water at the store. There is “drinking water” available at big holding tanks throughout the area, the nearest one is at the beach. We used that water for some of the stay until one of our party had a sore tummy when we switched to bottled.
The beach is really lovely - fantastic sunsets... a huge expanse of sand which disappears with the tide! The rip currents are strong in the area so be careful!
Thank you Dan for a fantastic stay at your beautiful home.

Fantastic beach vacation!
We really enjoyed our stay. The house was clean and ready for us when we arrived. Check-in and clearance through security went very smoothly, and Dan was always very responsive to all of our questions. The house was well-supplied.
The walk to the beach (including walking through the community) was about a half mile, which our three young children were able to do easily, but there is also parking right at the beach if someone does not want to do the walk. The beach had fine, dark sand that was great to walk barefoot on. The waves were fantastic for our kids (with close supervision), and provided endless fun. We also enjoyed being able to swim in the pool in the privacy of our own backyard.
The dishwasher seemed to be having some problems (but possibly due to a short electrical outage while we were there), and one sink had a leak, but Dan was responsive to our needs and none of these were hindering our stay in any way. We did not use the air conditioners as the fans and breeze from open windows were adequate for us.
Overall, we felt very safe, we really enjoyed the time, we never had a complaint about cleanliness, and we appreciated Dan's quick responses.

Beautiful house, awesome location!
We spent 5 weeks at Danny’s place with our family of 5 (including baby and small children) and I can’t say enough about what an awesome time we had. His house is spacious, well stocked and well kept. The kitchen is gorgeous and was very important for our extended stay. The private pool and well maintained backyard is another highlight and we spent many hours watching the kids enjoy the pool from the hammock. The house is in a great gated community, walking distance to the beach and very secure with 24 hour guards who were all very professional and polite. We never felt unsafe in the slightest.
WiFi internet was also very reliable and fast. While at the house I was working online and two of our kids were learning remotely on video calls with the US. Internet speed was excellent even when all 3 of us were on our calls simultaneously which was key for us being able to stay for as long as we did.
Lastly, Danny was very responsive and helpful whenever we had a question or needed anything. The whole experience was very smooth.
Pura Vida!

Great house for a family
This house was perfect for our family of 5. You need a car to get to Jaco or Playa Hermosa. It's also less than an hour from Manuel Antonio. The pool was fun and the beach nearby (Playa Bejuco) is very secluded. It was like having a private beach. We felt very safe and everyone was very nice. Would definitely come back.

Great place for family beach trip!
Very clean! Used both the house pool and large complex pool daily. Unbelievably beautiful landscaping and gardens. Saw macaws several times. Loved that they had beach chairs to use at Playa Bejuco (which is a beautiful, quiet beach). We lived in the hammock! Only bummer is that you need to budget for AC use and as a short person (5'2") it was difficult to reach things in a kitchen designed for someone tall. Lots of great day trips like rafting, Dominical, Jaco, Carara National Park and deep sea fishing.

Wonderful vacation
The house was exactly as pictured. Having the pool in the backyard was great! We enjoyed being able to prepare our own meals. The neighbors were wonderful. We got to know several of them during our stay, and one neighbor brought us some fresh bananas one morning. Yum! The neighborhood is very safe and secure.
The beach is a short drive or walk away, and it is beautiful. Most days we pretty much had the beach to ourselves.

Beautiful Property
The owner of this property is very accommodating---he helped make the house childproof for our toddlers and whenever we had a question about something he was very quick to help us. The house and pool are beautiful. The kitchen is full of all the tools needed to prepare meals. Our family loved using the back porch table and chairs to eat all of our evening meals. The house is fairly close to a gorgeous beach, which had the most breathtaking sunsets in the timeframe we were there (January/February). The house is also just a short drive to a grocery store, gym, chiropractor, salon, and a pizza restaurant that makes the most delicious pizza ever! The gated community has the most wonderful, friendly security staff and two stunning pools that our toddlers enjoyed. We would recommend this property to anyone!!!

Enjoyed our stay
My family and I enjoyed our stay at this property. We pretty much had everything we needed to enjoy this property and area. We each had our own clean space to sleep. The neighborhood was clean, quiet and relaxing. However, during our afternoon tanning/swimming sessions at the property we turned the music up to enjoy/celebrate being on vacation. The neighbors didn't seem to mind as we were courteous to only play loud music only during the afternoon. I highly recommend

Gorgeous House, Gorgeous Location. Wonderful Owner to work with.
This home is a dream to vacation in. The open floor plan is very spacious and nicely decorated. The photos on line represent it very well. The kitchen is nicely appointed and easy to cook in. The bedrooms are very large and nice, as are the bathrooms. Air conditioning is available in all of the rooms and the house was very comfortable in 90+ degree F outside temperatures. The house was very clean and the grounds were well kept. The backyard has a covered table and grill along with the pool. We found ourselves in the pool every evening to relax and cool down after a busy or not so busy day seeing this beautiful country. The beach is a short walk and there is plenty to do within a short drive. I wholeheartedly recommend this place!
One further note. We traveled to Costa Rica on Christmas day. We were concerned that we wouldn't find any stores or restaurants open. After we expressed our concerns, the owner and his local caretaker made sure there was some food in the house when we arrived. That is above and beyond as far as I'm concerned. The owner is originally from CR and his Tico roots show in how he treats his guests.

Great time in Costa Rica!
We just returned from our stay at Bejuco,Costa Rica. The house was beautiful just as the pictures depicted The location was peaceful. I our arrival we discovered a neighbor living across the street is from the town next to ours in California. Small world.
Our time in Costa Rica was spent doing all kinds of adventures from surfing to climbing waterfalls. Zip lining and riding ATVs. This was a great location to access all these activities. Looking forward to returning soon.

A beautiful home in a convenient and gated community
We had the privilege of staying in this beautiful home for our 8 night vacation in Costa Rica. The home is very spacious and offers all of the conveniences of home, including a nice pool to cool off in. Having a full size washer and dryer also allowed us to minimize the amount of clothes we brought. Everything was very clean and provided us a very relaxing vacation. The Bejuco location was also very convenient for trips to Jaco in one direction and all of the attractions towards Manuel Antonio National Park in the other. But, not too convenient to others as we had the beaches pretty much to ourselves most of the time. The owner was also extremely responsive via email to any questions we had, making sure we were comfortable and enjoyed our trip. I would highly recommend this home to everyone.

Great time in Bejuco!
My husband and I stayed here for a week in June, the start of the rainy season. We only had one day where we couldn't use the pool due to weather, so I was happy with that. The house is beautiful - looks exactly like the photos although the rooms are bigger than they appear. Being just the two of us, we obviously had plenty of room, but there's more than enough space for several couples or a family. The master bedroom is apart from the other two, but all three are spaced well for privacy.
We LOVED having our own private pool! We didn't even venture down to the community pool at all - no need. I loved the hammock and made great use of it while reading the four books I finished during our trip. There are four lounge chairs and plenty of beach towels. Having the washing machine was very handy as I washed our towels every few days. There were also plenty of towels in the bathroom and kitchen. I've rented places before that were lacking in towels, this was not at all the case here!
The kitchen was stocked with pretty much anything you might need to cook (other than the food, of course!). Lots of silverware, plates, glasses, plastic cups for poolside...really, the only thing I might have been able to use was a garlic press, but a knife did the trick.
The house is within a gated community with 24 hour security. We had little interaction with anyone other than a wave and a smile, but it seemed to be a friendly place. The neighborhood is very well kept up. The pool and yard crew came by one day and were in and out in under an hour. The beach is a short 3 minute drive or a bit longer by foot. There are a couple grocery stores nearby so you can get pretty much anything you need within a 2 minute drive.
We ate at the restaurant at the beach, Sunsets at the Playa Bejuco Hotel and it was very good. We also ate at Pavillion and Pelican restaurants in nearby Esterillos Este, as well as a couple of the little "soda" restaurants. We didn't have a bad meal the entire week! We took a drive down to Manual Antonio National Park and had a tour with Johan Chaves. It was fantastic and we highly recommend him.
We had great communication with Dan prior to our trip. He obviously cares a lot about his home and it shows. We would absolutely recommend this house to anyone looking for a relaxing vacation in Costa Rica!

Beautiful House close to a beautiful beach
The house was perfect for my family. It was large, clean and very comfortable. We had everything we needed to make meals and eat on the back patio overlooking the pool. The walk to the beach was fun. We encountered Scarlett Macaws and even saw a Caiman? Croc? in the river. The beach was so beautiful at sunset and the perfect surf spot for my husband and kids. Morning walks could go on forever on this practically deserted, extremely long beach. We drove to Manuel Antonio and it was nice to come back to the quietness of the house after the crowds in Manuel Antonio area. We also went to Rain Maker and hired a tour guide which was so informative and well worth it! We would certainly stay here again.

Awesome location, outstanding hospitality
When we arrived to Casa Marcelo we where not sure what to expect, but for sure wanted to have a trouble free family vacation.
As soon as we arrived to the gate (once they confirmed our id's) the typical costarican friendliness kicked in as one of the gate guards asked us to follow him on his bike as he escorted us to the house and guided us thru this beautiful and peaceful neighborhood.
As soon as we opened the door we were mesmerized with the art-deco of the house.
The girls quickly went to pick one of the 3 bedrooms (the master bedroom was out of the picture. That was ours!)
After a few minutes in there we had realized that we had made the right choice by staying here.
We truly enjoyed the pool, the hammock and the porch area which we made our dining area for the whole stay.
There are plenty of things to do around the area.
We decided to cook ourselves. The kitchen was completely equipped with everything and anything we could use.
To our surprise when we ran short of a few cooking ingredients the neighbor told us that there was a "Pulpería" (a Costa Rican version of a small convenience store) 200 yards from the main guard gate.
Once I got there a very humble a helpful owner greeted me and helped me find what I was looking for.
Within walking distance right before you get to the beach you can also find a nice restaurant, which we did not try because we chose to do home cook meals instead.
Now comes the most important part of the trip the beach... We loved this black sanded beach we had right at our front door, for the entire stay every time we went to the beach we only found a few people on it, which made it very nice for us since it almost felt we had a private beach at our disposal, we had a great time over here! Even the tourist we found at the beach were nice enough to offer taking some family pictures with us even asking them for it!
I will always have great memories of this trip!
I will definitely recommend to my friends and I will go back myself as soon a I have another oportunity.

Amazing House and Location
As soon as we walked into the house I was blown away. High ceilings amazing room by room climate control and a pool all in a safe community with very friendly residents. If there was not so much to see in the area I would have considered just stocking up at the small Bodega down the road and only leaving the house to walk to the beach every day. I could definitely live there. Oh and the restaurant on the way to the beach is good as well.
