First off, I want to say the property and penthouse were beautiful and definitely met our needs. My complaint is that the property management company changed from the time we booked to the time we arrived. This change was not communicated to us. I kept receiving emails from the previous rental company. For example, the check in video did not match the actual process at all because of the change. The day after we arrived, I received another email asking how our first day had been and if there was anything they could do to help. When I reached out for assistance I was told they no longer managed the unit. Because of the change in property managers, the rental listing was not accurate. It stated it was fully stocked and that there would be beach items in the closet behind the front door. When we arrived, there was nothing stocked (i.e. spices, storage bags, foil etc) in the kitchen other than starter coffee. The closet behind the front door was empty. There were no beach chairs in the rental. For the amount of money paid, and given the property has beach access, I would have thought this would have been a staple. With that said, and knowing what to expect next time around, our group looks forward to visiting again.

For the amount that you pay to stay in a penthouse suite l, you would expect solid communication and a property that meets your expectations. This was not that… The property manager (Maui reality) we’re garbage and took no ownership over the many lies and issues we had. First off, we received wristbands that did not work/open our room door. We arrived late (9pm) and not one was answering from Maui reality. Luckily the bellmen were nice e out to let us into our room. We did not get a callback until 9am the next morning. The suite smell was overpowering with paint in the rooms and bleach in the showers. WiFi didn’t work, which rendered the TVs useless. Even after the WiFi was corrected 20 hours after check in, the TVs didn’t connect to watch apps like Netflix. No big deal, we didn’t go to Maui to watch TV, but would have been nice at night with the kids. The cabinets were bare, no large bowls,Tupperware, or any storage containers of any kind. There were no beach chairs, boogie boards, umbrella or coolers as advertised. The grill didn’t work and when were used the gas oven, it made a horrific sound like it was going to explode. All of this, while Maui reality was unreachable still times, took zero ownership and communication was almost non-existent. Almost as though, they knew if was going to be an issue and ghosted us for a week so they didn’t hear the complaints. At the end of our trip, we were trying to reach the owner of the management company, Scott and he was unreachable… email, calls and text left unanswered. Called his office and received no return. We were tying to extend our stay because we wasted the first two days dealing with issues.
At the end of the day, the room and location are beautiful. The management company is absolute garbage human beings, liars and lazy.

We had a wonderful stay at this penthouse condo. Just a few steps to the pools and the sandy beaches. We enjoyed hanging out on the huge balcony with the amazing view daily. The resort is well maintained with lots of amenities. 3bed/3bath is a Perfect size for our family of 5, huge living room dining room with a beautiful view of the ocean below. We would come back here again anytime! Thank you for letting us staying in your beautiful condo.

We will stay in this condo again. The location was perfect for all of our activates on the island and will it being located at the end of all of the resorts, it was quiet. Do recommend this condo to families and extended family interested in traveling together.

Scenic paradise
This place was very nice! There were some housekeeping issues like broken crown molding and leaky fridge. There could have been more living room furniture. The pillows on beds were flat. But other than that, it was pretty well equipped and the location was great! Liked the security and the valets were top notch!!

Family Fun!
We have been to Honua Kai many times. This way by far the nicest unit we have stayed in. Spectacular view! We had to reach out to the property management company a few times, and both times they were extremely quick with their response. Great company to work with! I would recommend this unit and Maui Life Reality to anyone looking for a quality family vacation in Maui.

Great stay in Maui
We loved our stay here! Everything worked well, and the view is wonderful. The location of this unit on the property was perfect as well. Close to the pools and waterslide, yet far enough that you don’t hear everything going on. The management communicated well and in a timely manner. We would stay here again in a heart beat.

Very easy to rent and the host was very helpful and responsive. We loved sipping coffee on the spacious deck while looking out on the ocean and Lanai. And we loved sipping mai tais on the deck while watching whales and the sunset. Beautiful condo stocked with everything we needed.

Spacious, well fitted out, with a fabulous lanai plus
The Honua Kai property was as advertised, clean, gracious, with beautifully manicured grounds and lots of space to stretch out. Unit 1025 was spacious with breathtaking views of the strait between the beach and Lanai from each of the rooms and especially the lanai. We saw whales every day splashing around in the ocean. It was truly special.

Hawaii for Christmas during Covid: Feeling safe
Property is beautiful with view that cannot be beat. The amenities in the condo are perfect. The elevator protocols and common space use of masks were clear, and most of the guests are mask compliant, or did use a mask if we asked them to. The location is perfect for outdoor walks to excellent snorkeling, or to open air restaurants. Close to grocery stores and food trucks. and just plain beautiful. Was a wonderful escape after 9 months of lock down. The airport protocol with covid tests went smoothly. We had one challenge with a slowly draining toilet and the management team was responsive and handled it right away as soon as we called. Would absolutely return!!! If you are wondering whether to take a chance and go - our family would say "Yes, Absolutely!"

Best Family Vacation EVER
Our stay 1/25/20-1/31/20 was nothing short of spectacular! To sum it up when I asked my 6 year grandson on scale of 1-10 how would you rate the condo - he said 100!
We had our son, his girlfriend (in their late twenties), our daughter & her husband & their 2 kids (6 and 16 month old) and us - the layout was perfect! The bigger master fit both a cot for 6 year old & the pack n play with plenty of room!
The views are so amazing & we could see whales right from out deck. Kitchen was well appointed and we cooked in most of the time. The checkin process super easy & loved the bracelet key! The bellmen were amazing - we had so much stuff & groceries from 2 Costco runs & they were so helpful! Maui Realty was also very good with frequent communication - pre, and during stay. The pack n play was broken & within 20 minutes a brand new one was brought to us. We would definitely come back!

UNBELEIVABLE VIEW!
We loved the condo and its amenties. The view is just incredible from this location. Overall we liked everything. We got confused in finding the building when we first arrived because of some construction going on in the area, but once we were told how to navigate the area it is not a problem at all. The concirege service was great as well. I would definately recommend them.

Fantastic family vacation!
Our experience from start to finish was excellent. The booking process was quick and easy, Barry communicated with our “point person” frequently, and we knew exactly what to expect upon arrival to Maui.
The condo is perfectly appointed. A Keurig AND a brew pot were a nice touch, pots, pans, cookware, grilling utensils.....everything was within reach. All bedrooms and bathrooms were set up nicely and we had plenty of room to spread out.
The view off the balcony was breathtaking! The photos in the listing are phenomenal but don’t even do it justice! And the location was perfect —- close to any and everything we needed, but far enough away from the busyness to feel completely relaxed.
We hope we will be back to this property again! Thanks so much!

Beautiful view
Beautiful view with a very comfortable condo! Kids loved HK. We loved the view. For those who don’t want to cook every meal the Honua Kai is across the street from the market and slappy cakes. We also used 808 pickups (it’s the local DoorDash) to have a couple meals delivered. With this view we enjoyed eating while watching the sunset from our lanai!

This is a great room/location for family vacation. You cannot beat the view from this room. All the amenities are there and the host was wonderful. Check in/out was a breeze. We will be back for sure!!!

A Perfect Hawaiian Family Vacation
We brought our daughter and her family and we were immediately in awe the moment that we walked through the front door. As you look out through an expansive patio veranda the view of the ocean and the island of Lanai is amazing. This was a perfect location for families with children as our grandson enjoyed the water slide area and the easy access to the beach. The staff here were very friendly and accommodating. Without any hesitation I would come back and would recommend this to other families as well. Mahalo.
