It's a good place to stay for a few nights. Private parking is nice. The location is easy to get in and out of. The kitchen is well-stocked and the view is beautiful. The AC was a little hard to find because it was hidden behind two doors. The beds were comfortable. The only drawback is sharing a long bathroom with 2 boys - would have been nice to have the toilet a little more secluded but it was only a couple of nights. The property is really nice.

Terrific house. Better than the photo's. Great value. Great views. Elegant, wonderful vibe. Can see sunsets over the whole town. Private. Clean. Easy in and out. Owner is laid back and communicative. We had 3 adults and there was plenty of room. 4 adults plus a couple of kids would be easy. Plenty of parking. No TV but you don't need it: you're in Marfa, turn off the TV!! Internet is strong enough to stream all you need off a computer if you need video entertainment. I travel a lot and use VRBO a lot and this may have been the best place I've stayed in for the price. Will definitely try to rent it again.

We three adult women loved our stay. The house is cozy and comfortable with lovely views, and the art is great. We walked all over town from this location, although some might choose to drive. Please note that there are a number of steps -- no problem for us, but could be for some. Also, the 3rd bedroom is downstairs through a separate entrance. This can be a good thing if you want privacy, but we chose to double up in the upstairs room with twin beds so no one had to be lonely downstairs. Highly recommend staying here!

This property represents the ultimate vibe you want and expect while visiting Marfa! This home has great art and a porch that allows you to enjoy a great view of the town as the sun sets. The evening lights showcase this property in a magical way!
The home sits right on the edge of town yet is still within walking distance to all the wonderful galleries Marfa offers. There is a handy general store right across the street.
This “House On The Hill” offered every feature we were looking for and reflects the pride the owners have taken to ensure we enjoyed our stay.
Our daughter was getting married in Marfa and this home was used as a backdrop for a great photo shoot!

This house is the best property you can stay at in Marfa. The design of the house, the art, and the location/views are incredible. If I come back to Marfa I will only stay here.

We loved our stay here- it’s close to town and has a great vibe. Loved the finish out and artwork. The owner has a cool aesthetic and it was a perfect spot for our family for two nights close to everything in Marfa.

This is our second time in Marfa and the first time we stay at this rental. We plan on staying here again. The interior and exterior are both charming and relaxing and provide the ambiance of a true getaway. My teenage boys had the space they needed. Upon entering the rental the radio was tuned to Marfa's local station that we now listen to back home. The art and layout of the rental are one of a kind. Great big shower with good shower spray pressure. My husband and son both used the outdoor shower. Comfy beds and all the amenities you need. Lush garden with an abundant amount of butterflies. Our gracious host answered my questions in a timely manner.

First Trip to Marfa
The Hill House was a perfect choice for our first trip to Marfa. The location is right outside of downtown, we could easily bike/walk anywhere. The deck overlooking Marfa was the perfect end to each day. The history of the house itself and the local art inside made it feel as if you were staying in one of the local galleries. Robert was wildly responsive and has thought of everything. Can;t imagine we'd ever stay anywhere else while in Marfa.

Artsy Home
We loved staying at Hill House! The beds were comfortable and the house was loaded with artwork. The kids loved the bunk beds -ish. We had fun playing games by the fire. It does need a deep cleaning. There were a lot of spiderwebs and dust, but it was not too big of a deal. Definitely recommend!

Fantastic place, gorgeous gardens
Hill House was amazing! The historic Adobe is charming. The garden was magical with everything in bloom and butterflies everywhere (in August!). The views were awesome - both at sunrise and sunset. We'll definitely be back to stay again.

This Marfa Hill House is a hidden gem with everything you need to feel right at home, fireplace, beautiful views, luxurious bed linens, and fully stocked kitchen!

Meh
This house is mostly what it appears to be, and the beds are very comfortable as others have noted. A few words of warning however:
1. Think of it as a two-bedroom. The room with the bunk beds is detached, downstairs, VERY dimly lit, and has kind of a basement-y smell to it.
2. There is no TV in the house, which was fine with us but really ought to be disclosed.
3. Don't assume that everything will work. The doors didn't lock well and the wifi was out for pretty much the entire time. Owner did not respond to my request for help with the wifi.
4. In addition to the local tax issue mentioned in the ad, you should be aware that VRBO does not automatically charge your card for the second payment. I assumed otherwise, and when the owner noticed that the second payment had not been made, he skipped the whole friendly reminder step and immediately threatened to sue me. They also make you sign an aggressive liability waiver, which I thought was pretty weird. Overall, management is not fun to deal with.

Beautiful views of marfa!
You can see the entire city of Marfa from the porch had no idea Marfa had a Vrbo like this it’s truly unique. The inside it has a rustic artistic feel to it feels like your staying in a art exhibit fits perfect to Marfa. Loved our stay I have to mention the beds were the most comfortable beds we ever slept on in a Vrbo.

An amazing experience! One of the best places to stay in town!
A lot of care is put into this gem of a home. We had a wonderful time. We didn't want to leave. Accommodations pretty much have everything you need. The garden is in bloom even in October. We certainly recommend this place. Robert and Suise answered all of our questions and were very helpful.

Wonderful outdoor venue for my son’s rehearsal dinner
The people that I coordinated with when making the booking were extremely helpful. I loved the drone footagethat was sent to me to assure I know the lay of the land when planning our outdoor event. The yard/gardens gave a great area to serve a meal, play some outdoor games, and causal socializing at the same time. We loved our experience and would highly recommend. Helped make our Son’s wedding weekend unforgettable!!!

One of a kind comfortable, clean, comfortable home. Perfect for 4-6 adults. Eclectic art
While there are 2 very nice downtown hotels Hill House is perfect location, unique and fun with great patios and vistas. So many beautiful and quirky art works and furniture and other touches. Everything one needs in the kitchen for cooking, entertaining and the bathroom. Great towels. There is only 1 shower ( indoor) for all guests. A shower is outside too if weather permits. The house is located right off the highway and across street from busy rail traffic- and neighbors have Roosters! However once Windows are closed no noise and after night or 2 dont hear a thing. No television which we loved and great local radio station with no commercials and every song different era, type, beat. Perfect. Hope to visit again

Great location, perfect for long weekend getaway
I spent a long weekend at the House on the Hill for an annual girls trip, and everything was great! The location is perfect for walking everywhere in Marfa. The amenities were as described, and the house and its contents were very clean. Everyone had a comfortable sleeping space, and a few brave souls enjoyed the outdoor shower. We made a day trip to Big Bend National Park, and dinner in Terlingua. I would not recommend the house for families with children - there are lots of steps outside that line the beautiful landscape. It was a perfect setting for our group - would definitely recommend to friends looking for a west Texas get-away.

We could not have wished for better in Marfa.
The owner and house keeper were incredibly helpful.
It was freezing when we were there, so we couldn't enjoy the beautiful garden, which would be amazing in warmer weather.
My only suggestion would be: get some professional photos taken - these ones just don't do that house justice!

Magical mornings in the desert
What a beautiful home! The photos do not do this place justice, it's so much more beautiful in person! We loved our stay here and hope to return in the near future or maybe even yearly! Everyone we met was warm and welcoming! Any time we mentioned we were staying at the Hill House, we always got an enthusiastic response. It seems like the place to be, and for staying during such a busy weekend, we sure lucked out! We spent a lot of time in the lush garden downstairs which was always full of butterflies. We love everything about this place, it all felt so magical. The sunsets from the patio are amazing, the furniture and art is tastefully chosen, and all the living areas are comfortable and welcoming. We even met with some of the artists in person during the Chinati Weekend! It was a pleasure to come back to the home and view the work in a different light.
