We're not a "sit at the beach" family, but enjoy all the activities that surround it. So this location was perfect...a few minutes we were at the beach (lots of chairs from the house to use) and then within a short drive to LB, had free pickleball and a canoe/paddleboard launch to enjoy the calm intercoastal water! The House layout was perfect - one big open room and comfortable BRs. The outside hammock was amazing! Liked not sharing the grounds w/ another family. Manager was very responsive to a few small requests. Overall wonderful stay!

Our family (7 adults) recently stayed at Marmalade Mermaid and loved it! Walking distance to our favorite beach as well as our favorite shopping, dining, nigh life locations. House had plenty of room and we loved having 3 full baths as well as an outdoor shower and hot tub. All that and being right across the street from the beach made it the prefect place for our family vacation. We will be back!

This house will definitely be a repeat for us!! It was just perfect!! Decorated so colorful, plenty of space and just steps away from the beach and the bay!!!
Not on the main drag that is beach front but it’s nice because it’s very quiet!
We had an issue with a couple of things but management made sure all was taken care of very quickly!
We will definitely return!

What a lovely home!!! Perfect location with porch views of the sunset. Quaint seaside decors. Linen on beds and towels were excellent. Kitchen was extremely well equipped. Lovely back yard with swings and hammock. So clean when we arrived. Comfortable and spacious seating areas. All furnitures in good repair. Lovely decor. Only difficulty was activating the TV sets and WiFi’s which required multiple calls - and two TVs not functional. We had a great visit!! Thank you :)

Beautiful house and location! We enjoyed our stay and we felt very comfortable at the house. They have a nice outside shower on the side of the house, a foot shower in the front of the house, a nice spa pool. The rooms were nice and each had their own full bath. It made it very comfortable with my four kids and mom. They had all kinds of toys, chairs and boogie boards. The porch was nice and the kids loved the porch swing. Overall amazing stay. The beach was beautiful and right across the road. Just loved everything about the house, the beach, and the stay. Can’t wait to go back! Duncan real estate was also very attentive and we felt that if anything was wrong they would help immediately. Highly recommend! 10/10!

My family had a great stay at this amazing property. Steps to the beach with Bahamas style water! Zero complaints, had everything we needed for a convenient and comfortable stay. Nice beach house in a great location
My family had a wonderful vacation staying in this cute beach house. The house was very clean and has everything you need. The location is great. The beaches were beautiful. Duncan Reality were very easy to work with and always answered any questions. We hope to be back to very soon.

Great family vacation house!
This is a beautiful and comfortable home and we enjoyed our stay immensely! It was literally steps from the beach. The pool was a nice bonus. Between the AC and the fans in every room, the house stayed at a comfortable temperature, even at 90 degrees outside. The porch and the swimspa were great. We loved all the decor. Duncan Realty were great to deal with, from start to finish. Thank you!!

Beautiful old house
In a nice location. For the most part, a really nice house. They are having some plumbing issues in the back bathroom. Being an older house, it doesn’t stay as cool as it should and you can’t turn the ac down under 75 per their rules. Other than that, the house is beautiful, was pretty clean, and was a nice place to spend our week.

Great Place
We stayed in this house with another family and we all loved the house. It is an older house that is updated and has a great floor plan. The large living room, dining area, and kitchen flows together well. Drinking coffee on the wrap around porch was enjoyable. The beach is just a short walk away. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance as well. We have gone south for many spring breaks in the past and this was one of our favorites.

Great location, house is dates but clean- great time!
Great place - open floor plan- plenty of room to move around and relax. Across the street is the beach. Hot tub was a bonus- family really enjoyed it- sat on the porch at night - coffee in the morning. GREAT

Great location and communication
Loved the Marmalade Mermaid. There were a couple of issues when we arrived, but had been communicated to us prior to arrival. These were taken care of quickly and went above and beyond our satisfaction. Lovely cottage and super comfortable. Throughly enjoyed the spa pool.

Great Getaway
Everything through Duncan was easy from payment, to receiving the door code, and also having a binder full of useful information from when trash day was to where to eat and even how to use the tv!
We had a great week right across from the beach! We’d enjoy coffee on the porch and cool off in the spa-pool. The house was perfect for us and very clean. We can’t wait to go again!

Great home!
Our large group of 8 had a great time in this home. It was roomy, clean, and the location was excellent. The kitchen and bathroom supplies were adequate. Appreciated all the beach towels and accessories as well. Quick, easy acces to restaurants, shops, and activities. The beach was only a few steps away. The area was beautiful. The management was so good with booking and preparing us for arrival. We hope to visit again!

This place could not have better met our needs. Gorgeous inside and out...fantastic location. Right across from beautiful Bradenton Beach where we caught great sunsets for fantastic family pictures each night. Super close to the Bradenton Beach restaurants and night life...but far enough away to be relaxed and quiet. Couldn't have been better :-)

Great Beach Cottage
We enjoyed our stay at Marmalade Mermaid. It is a quaint beach cottage. It is bigger than it looks and the cottage is clean and well-furnished and decorated with a coastal theme. Plenty of room for our family of seven. We really enjoyed the wrap-around porch. It is a convenient location very close to the beach and a number of restaurants and shops - easy walking distance. The management company was helpful and responsive. We would stay at the cottage again.

Uncomfortably hot
When I rented this place, I was hoping the AC issues mentioned by other reviewers going back over a year had been resolved. Sadly, that was not the case. It is clear the AC needs to be replaced but the owners have not invested in their property. The book of instructions left for guests instructs not to set the AC below 75 or the ac will freeze. So at night the coolest the home can get is 75. Then during the day, despite whatever setting you have the AC on, the temperature steadily ticks up. By the end of the day it was 83 degrees. And this was w keeping the blinds shut and limiting foot traffic in and out of the house. And forget cooking - if you used the stove or oven the heat became much worst - up to 85 degrees. The home also does not comfortably sleep 8 As advertised as two shelf like areas is one of the rooms seem to be considered as day beds when they really are not. The fridge is on its last legs, the kitchen sink plumbing was challenging, and we had a wasp issue/infestation on the deck that had a very difficult time getting in contact w anyone regarding and had to wait over a day for assistance and were not able to use the porch for that time period. We ended up getting a new house through a different company halfway through our stay bc the house was so uncomfortable. It became clear to us the rental company was not going to do the right thing when they blamed the temperature issue on the Florida heat. We live in Florida. Our house is cool bc we have a functioning ac.

Awesome Beach House
We stayed at marmalade mermaid for our 10yr wedding anniversary. We booked before covid-19 and still had a great experience with Duncan. They stayed in contact with us all through the past three months when covid travel restrictions were in place assuring us they would be flexible should we not be able to travel. The beach house itself was very clean and comfortable. Two minute walk across to the beach with a beautiful view from the wrap around front porch . The beach location itself was absolutely perfect we drove the strip and agreed we were in the best spot . The house itself was great loved that each room had its own bathroom . Dead end st with beautiful view of the Bay at the end . Trolley stop two st down (recommend taking the trolley to the end of the island and back it was great and they work on tips). Close to the small center short 10min walk or 5 min drive alot of great shops. I would definitely stay at marmalade mermaid again and again.

Adorable shabby chic cottage
We were thrilled with the shabby-chic cottage. Perfect for a cozy family vacation. The decor and mermaid theme were very well done. The large family room was perfect for our big family! Short walk to beach - beach toys, chairs and umbrellas included!!

Outstanding Vintage Beach Cottage!
In one word: outstanding! If you can stay in a beach cottage that actually looks like a beach cottage, why stay elsewhere? That's exactly what the Marmalade Mermaid is all about: a beautifully renovated house circa 1940's (just guessing) with all the modern comforts of the digital era and all the charm and details of a historic house. The owners have done an amazing job of decorating the place with charm, quirkiness, a tasteful (not cheesy) nautical theme and an eye for detail. This house has it all. The beach is just across the street and you can relax on the front porch swing and enjoy the beach view. The kitchen is modern. The 3 bathrooms are clean and up-to-date. The beds were incredibly comfortable. And our kids loved that each of their rooms had a TV! I would suggest a minor improvement: update the A/C unit or vents in the beach-facing room. It was warm throughout the day (even though we kept the blinds closed all day) and not much cooler at night. The rest of the house was perfect. Definitely coming again next year!

Great week at the beach. We loved the cottage - only complaint would be that the A/C in the main part never cooled the bedrooms. The 3rd bedroom had a separate system and was a great temperature. Would definitely rent again !

Cutest place ever
This place was absolutely adorable! Super close to the beach and within walking distance to the pier. Also can easily walk to Coquina Beach. Very clean and it had all the stuff you needed. Tons of beach gear, including a small cooler, floaties, Frisbees, football, and chairs. Easy check in. They texted you the door code and we could easily get in and lock it up. The pictures don't do this place justice. The décor is beyond amazing and tastefully done. The only thing I would recommend is that the 2nd bedroom would be better with a queen bed so another couple could use that room (full is too small). Otherwise one couple gets stuck sleeping with the kids. The room with the twin beds is enormous and the king bed in there is awesome. The kitchen is stocked and even had some food in the cupboards. The bathrooms are very nice as well. Can't wait to go back. Would highly recommend this place.

Great location! Took 5 teenagers and 3 adults on spring break! House had plenty of room and having 3 bathrooms was wonderful! Loved the porch and swing. Spent a lot of time out there! Very clean and comfortable beds! Duncan was a pleasure to work with through the whole process!

You will be so pleased with this property!
Our family of 8 stayed at this property over Christmas. It was absolutely perfect for us! 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms gave us plenty of space. Home is clean and charming. It was our first of hopefully many visits to Anna Maria Island and we would happily stay at this property again. The house is just across the street from a beautiful white sand beach with clear water. Home is nicely equipped with everything you need. Duncan Real Estate is a pleasure to work with and made everything easy from start to finish.

Charming beach home
A weekend getaway for our 15th anniversary. the shabby chic decorations give this home so much charm. I Was worried about the bathrooms because they were not pictured but the bathrooms are just as nice as the rest of the home. We really enjoyed sitting on the porch swing in the evening . The home is equipped with everything needed for the stay down to beach towels. I know we will be back again.

Wonderful property
We loved our stay at this charming home and can't wait to vacation there again! A lot of love went into the decorating and updating of this property and it was perfectly suited for our family. There are three bedrooms each with their own bathrooms. Each bedroom, as well as the living room, had a television. The furniture and beds were very comfortable, and the linens were soft. The linens as well as towels were provided, along with three beach chairs and beach umbrella. The home and all the linens were very clean. The beach was across the street and yes there is construction at the present time, however it wasn't that bad. We were able to sit on that beach across the street on the weekend, without being crowded. During the week we just had to walk a short block to access the beach. The wrap around porch is great. Being one house away from the main boulevard had us close enough to the beach, yet it was quiet.

paradise
We have stayed at two other homes in Anna Maria and this by far is our favorite. This home is beautiful and more importantly comfortable. A private bathroom for each bedroom ... can't beat that.... a beautiful wrap around porch with plenty of seating, an enclosed outdoor shower to rinse off in after a day at the beach (just remember to latch it back or you may hear it banging on a windy night). Unlike the previous reviewer we did not experience any bugs....the house was very clean, you can tell the owners take pride in the appearance of the home...such adorable detail in the decorations. The walk to the beach is quick and easy (even with the construction). The Trolley stop is also a short walk from the home and we enjoyed riding it and shopping in Anna Maria... and the trolley is FREE! We could not have asked for a better last minute get away! I would definitely recommend the Marmalade Mermaid to anyone.

Gorgeous Property!!
We absolutely love staying at this property. The wrap around patio porch is a nice added touch to enjoy the sunsets. The kitchen is well supplied and we loved the decor and comfortable furnishings throughout. The beds were super comfortable and the linens were really nice and clean. The beach is literally a short walk across the street. The free trolley has a stop right at the cross street and runs every 15-20 minutes so getting around the island is a cinch. We will definitely be back next year!!

Beware!
For the most part we really did enjoy our stay at Marmalade Mermaid. There was an up charge because we were there on Easter so they charged extra for the holiday. I'm not really sure why. We were not able to just walk 100 steps to the beach due to construction on the beach. I did request a small refund due to this inconvenience but they don't do refunds. We did experience a bit of a bug problem at the house. There were roaches and ants in the kitchen. We probably won't use this property again due to the integrity of the owner not disclosing the construction on the beach and advertising the short walk to the beach when it was obvious that the construction had been going on for a while.
