This is our second time staying at this property. We stayed with friends here a few years back. It was perfect fit for our two families this time. Kids ranged from 16-11. Perfect location to beach. Loved the large dining table. Fit all 8 of us comfortably for dinner! I wish there was a light above table (I feel like there was one a few years ago) all in all we had a lovely vacation and was very happy with our accommodations!

Great central location for the house. We had a great time! Quick walk to the beach or stores. Could not ask for a better location! We just so happened to drive to the Museum of the Sea which is a really neat place to check out! We are planning on coming back to the area!

Our first time in Avon: hope to come back, and here! The weather was not great, but we had books and puzzles provided! View was spectacular. Location fantastic: walked to ice cream almost nightly. Nothing was more than 20 minutes away! Cleaning was adequate. Would love to see an overhead light for the dining table, but other than that nothing else. We’ll be back!

Definitely needs upgrades. Back porch is horrible, couldn't let my grandchildren out on the deck at all so they were stuck inside the entire time we were at the house. Soft spot in the floor right inside the door. We enjoyed our stay at the beach because we are a family that just deals with things as they come but the house definitely needs repairs done.

We all had a very enjoyable stay as a result of the house and the location. The house was absolutely perfect for our celebration…the kitchen was well-equipped for the meals we prepared, and it was open to the dining, living and deck areas. We had absolutely beautiful weather so we spent plenty of time on the beach which is within walking distance.

We had a great time at this property. Had the essentials. We were greatly appreciative of the three bathrooms and number of bedrooms. Located very close to beach and access. Good place to relax

The house was great. Enjoyed the stay other than someone took a bag of dog poor and smeared it on my sister's car. We gather they did not like her bumper sticker, as they had it covered in poo 💩 too. This vacation was for her. She had just finished her last radiation treatment for breast cancer and has Leukemia as well. I noticed most of the houses in the neighborhood were rentals, so i doubt it was a local who did it.Only thing we fou d wrong was one of the dinning room chairs was broken, but we had plenty of others in which to sit. Loved the easy access to beach and restaurants..house was very comfy.

This is a great property. Plenty of room for our extended family. We were able to watch whales migrating from the deck on 3 of our 6 days there. Beach access is easy. Wi-Fi and cable worked great. Couch has been upgraded from property photos. Check in was simple and easy. Would definitely recommend.

We stayed here for Thanksgiving as a family. The house was perfect for us. It was spacious and close to the beach. The kitchen was a great size for cooking our Thanksgiving meal. We had a wonderful time.

The house is in a great location! The neighborhood is very nice and there is easy access to the beach. You can see the dunes and the ocean from the very large balcony. The house was impeccably clean, even down to the drawers in the kitchen! We will definitely stay there again in the future.

Light in one of the bathrooms burned out. Outside light burned out. Deadbolt to entry door didn’t work. Entry door handle worked but barely. Refrigerator door broken, held together with tape. Carpet was old. Outside deck chairs needed cleaned.

This house was perfect! Avon has beautiful wide beaches and not too crowded for a sunny week in July. The access is super close and short walk to the beach. Can also walk to wine and spice and cups and cones just down the street. This place is affordable and pet friendly. Location is perfect and the house was clean and has all the basics to make your stay comfortable. I would stay again. One of the nicest beach stays I’ve had and I go to the outer banks every summer since I was a child. Highly recommend!

We really enjoyed our stay at Sailfish! The host and manager are available if needed and even looked for a toy left behind by my nephew. Wonderful week!

Sailfish cottage was an excellent home away from home! Of all of the places that we have stayed at the beach, Sailfish was by far our favorite. The house was clean, had a great layout, and was in a very convenient part of town. It had fantastic views from the porch and was just a short walk from the beach. Would 100% recommend!

My family all gathered together to have a memorial for my mom who recently passed away. The home was idea for gathering together inside and outside. The owners were wonderful. Everything was nice and clean and the beach view was terrific.

We had a great trip to Sailfish. The house has a great location. Many of the items have been upgraded from the photos on the site. The new sofa and upgraded appliances were great. The house easily fit our family of 5 and another family of 5. The beach access is very close to the house and the ocean views from the back patio are better than the pictures.

The Sailfish was everything we hoped for and more. The price was so affordable. Lots of room- a very spacious family room on the top floor with an awesome view. The beach was a very short walk , and the grocery store and restaurants less than a mile. Great memories made for me and my family at the Sailfish 💕💕💕

I read reviews before renting so I knew it was an older place and wasn't expecting anything fancy. It's clear the owner is trying to keep costs low by doing own work like paint that was clearly not a professional job. All that was fine, we weren't looking for fancy, just a clean affordable place to spend a quiet holiday weekend with family. I chose the property because it was a lower cost and no pet fees since we have three dogs. The check-in was the easiest I've ever had through VRBO. The only thing that was really concerning was that the house shakes. It is an older modular home on stilts. I hope the owner will have a contractor come soon to check the stilts and overall stability of the house. It shakes when someone walks around the kitchen or out to the balcony, it shakes in a strong wind. It shakes enough to shift some of the pictures on the walls to hang crooked. I would straighten them but sure enough the house would shake again and they would get crooked again. We weren't concerned about the cosmetic stuff, but if there had been a storm while we were there the shaking might have been too much for me. The only other little thing was that the owner requests renters vacuum before checkout and I didn't mind doing that but the vacuum needs to be replaced. When I was done and turned off the vacuum a bunch of sand fell right back out on the carpet so I had to vacuum it up again and shut it off in the kitchen this time so I could sweep up what it dropped.

Sailfish has plenty of room. Perfect floor layout for multiple couples for privacy. Enjoyed our stay. House could use a deep cleaning in bathrooms and kitchen floor. Perfect location. We would stay again.

Super close to the beach and nice ocean view. With 4 adults and 3 children there was more than enough room. Convenient to restaurants and a grocery store. We would definitely come back.

we have been staying at the sailfish for a few years now and we wouldn’t want to spend our trip to the obx anywhere else! it truly is our home away from home we love it there! and betty the property manager is wonderful she is always so nice and so prompt with responding and always accommodates us with our stay! we will see you next year

This property was in a great location. It was just a short walk to the beach and walking distance to a great coffee shop. It is also close to other nice little shops. We would stay there again.

We really enjoyed staying at the Sailfish. The open living room and kitchen was wonderful. The front porch was a nice touch. The only things that could have been a little better was when we arrived the previous tenant did not clean up the dog hair well. Our room was covered. Also the picnic table was broken so we could not enjoy it. Other than that is was a great week. Thank you again!

This house fit our needs perfectly! It had a beautiful view from the deck and the path to the beach was nearby. The kitchen had everything we needed and, in general, the whole house was really kid and pet friendly. Although older than many of the house around it, this home is comfortable and has a big open kitchen with plenty of seating, which we appreciated having a big family. Check-in was simple and the house was clean. We would visit again!
