Took a chance on a location we have not stayed before. Ron and his wife were wonderful hosts. If you are looking for a quiet place away from chaos in Soldotna during peak season this is the place to go.

We had an amazing time living in Alaska and staying in Bears Den for two months during the winter. Ron and Katya are welcoming hosts. They ensured we were comfortable and had everything during our long winter stay. Bears Den, a one-bedroom cabin, worked out perfectly for us. Both of us worked remotely from the cabin. The Internet connection was reliable, and we had no outages during our stay. The kitchen in the cabin is small, but it was convenient and had everything for us to cook dinner almost every day. It was warm and cozy inside the Bears Den during cold winter nights. Eagle’s Eye property is located within walking distance of a local supermarket. This was very convenient when we ran out of ingredients for breakfast or dinner and did not need to drive to Soldotna.
The best part of Bears Den is the view. It was calming and meditating to look at the half-frozen Kenai River with Bold Eagles flying back and forth over it.
We did not want to leave and can’t wait to return there again.

There aren’t words enough to describe this piece of paradise - and the hospitality that comes with it. This was our first trip to Alaska for fishing and Ron made sure we were well aware of our options, timing for booking adventures, etc. I honestly have never met hosts that offered so much for a stay. The accommodations were perfect - and such a gorgeous setting. We are hoping we will make it back - and this is where we’ll stay!

This trip was our second stay at Eagles Nest and we enjoyed it even more the second time around. We stayed in 2016 and again this year. The owners have made so many improvements including an awesome fire pit pavilion that is mosquito proof and can seat two dozen people comfortably. WOW. It was amazing. Ron is so attentive and cares for the property so well! I swear it was spotless. My wife was so impressed with how clean it was. Thanks to Ron and Katya for another great stay. See you again soon!

This is one Alaskan lodge you don't want to pass up! Ron & Katya have been outstanding hosts and the property has fit all needs! We were in a interesting situation needing to quickly last minute find a stay for our workers and Ron & Katya made that happen. They have gone above and beyond to ensure the crew is well taken care of. It has made this a very enjoyable stay for the crew! 10/10 would recommend you check this property out for your next Sterling stay!

Ron is a great host! He met us upon arrival to show us around the property. The bears den was comfortable and had everything we could have needed. Down to laundry detergent. There were poles available to fish off the docks on the property. He even helped coordinate an excursion for us. Thank you for making our anniversary trip so enjoyable!

From the moment I booked our reservation at our perfect little Bear Den our host Ron was incredibly helpful.. His knowledge of the area allowed us the best possible experience in this fishing mecca of Alaska. And our best catching ended up being right in front of us off his docks with his expertise in a new technique!
The accommodations were perfect with everything we could possibly need...and then some! I hope to return again and spend more time exploring this amazing area!

Can’t say enough… we loved this little cabin! Everything you need to reset and relax. Beautifully well kept grounds with so many thoughtful amenities. Well appointed kitchen and cabin that is exceptionally clean. Beautiful view of the Kenai river front with eagles flying by every single night. Multiple fire pits to gather around after your day’s adventures. Close to travel to many main points of interest or just completely unwind. Incredible host who truly takes pride in his property and was so helpful with our inquiries about our daily adventures. Ron you’re truly one of a kind and we were so happy to have meet you and stayed at your little cabin. Kevin, Queen Victoria and Caleb.

My wife and I rented the Bear's Den for 3 nights and really enjoyed our stay. Ron was awesome and helpful with whatever was needed. The area by the water was great, we didn't want to leave. Would love to come back again!

Beautiful property and exceptional host!
My husband, 1 year old son and I had the best time here. The condo not only had everything we needed and more, it was very clean, access to fishing and various firepits, but the host Ron was absolutely exceptional. He helped my husband and I with fishing tips, equipment and locations on the Kenai River. His friendliness was contagious. We will absolutely come back here again and recommend to friends that visit Sterling. 5+ STARS!

Amazing Vacation!
I can't say enough about the Eagles Eye Property. We rented the Bear's Den for my husband and I, plus our two teens and the Wolve's Den for my FiL. Prior to the trip, he was very communicative and answered all of our questions immediately any time we contacted him. He also set up all of our fishing excursions with outstanding outfitters in advance of our trip. We felt at home from the moment we arrived. Ron provided us a personal tour of the property, showing us all the amenities available which included the private fishing docks and fishing equipment, the numerous firepits and sitting areas, the horseshoe pits, and the newly constructed pavillion. Ron also showed us the Outfitters Shed that contained waders, fishing equipment, and ice chests for our excursions. The house was fully equipped and very comfortable (loved the bed). The fish cleaning area and the full size freezer were a godsend to process the fish we caught. We plan to book with him again and make this a regular trip for our family. Thanks, Ron!

A Perfect Alaskan Experience
Where to begin! I start by simply saying that our stay at Ron's Property at Sterling, AK was perfect. I used that word very carefully. Let me explain: I am an experienced VRBO user, this is exclusively how I travel these days, where I take my family of four out three times a year. I must say this was a very unusual and unique experience.
First, I typically do no prefer host to be present at the property, here that was the case. But it was an extraordinary positive experience. From the moment we arrived Ron greeted us like a old family member. Showed his whole property around, gave me tips abour how to spend the next 7 days with my family.
Second, Ron's home is by the Kenai River, and he let me borrow fishing rods and other necessary equipment for my whole family! I am not a fisherman, but Ron essentially taught us how to fish in the River!
Using Ron's tips we booked multiple fly-in fishing trips (Talon Air, highly recommended) where we caught more than 35 pounds of Sock-eye Salmon. This was an unforgettable experience for my family..
Our girls travel a lot, and it is rare to hear them mention that "dad, we like to come back here!" This is music to my ears! They enjoy the bunk bed and the open area in front. They also enjoyed marshmellows by the fire right in front of the apartment!
Ron also helped me freeze our catch in his freezer and even packed the vac-sealed fish in a box for us to take home. This is superior service from a host!
I think my wife K and I made a new friend! I am sure to come back again soon!

Perfect location with fantastic accommodations!!
The owner of the property exceeded our expectations in every way. Ron's knowledge of the area and contacts in the community made booking those last minute fishing trips a breeze. Additionally, the onsite outfitter equipment room provided those odds and ends that we never even thought to bring. The accommodations were well stocked and very comfortable. Cooking fresh salmon over an open fire while sitting by the river is about as perfect as it can get. Thanks again for making a great vacation even better!!!

Absolutely amazing
The property was stunning, with seating overlooking the river and great access for fishing. Everything we needed for a relaxing trip was provided in the apartment, from kitchenware to a washer and dryer (a real plus for us). Ron was so friendly and helpful, giving us advice on where the best fishing was and areas to explore as we made our way back to Anchorage. Next time we’re in Sterling, we’ll be sure to come back to this absolutely amazing property and look forward to visiting with Ron again!

Great place to stay for your stay in Alaska
The hosts went above and beyond to make us feel very comfortable and enjoy our stay. The cabin was outstanding and top notch. Easy to find and not far from the town of Soldotna. Ron even hooked us up on charter to go deep sea fishing and we all caught our limit. Highly recommend staying here.

Home base for all of our Kenai Peninsula excursions.
The last leg of our vacation adventure in Alaska was spent right here in Bear’s Den on the Kenai River while celebrating our 10 year anniversary. Ron and Katya were incredibly thoughtful, kind, and very informative. They even had a special welcome prepared for our arrival in celebration of our anniversary.
The Kruckenberg’s have a great piece of property right on the Kenai River with multiple lodging options and many different levels of seating areas outside around the back balcony and lower levels of the backyard. This was the perfect spot for us to be and really centrally located with a great view and access to the river. This cabin had a very quiet, comfortable living space with a blacked out bedroom perfect for sleeping between our summer adventures. We had a large gas grill and a full kitchen to cook whatever we wanted so we enjoyed a Moose steak and some fresh Halibut! We felt like we had the place to ourselves and enjoyed the two outdoor fire pits on separate nights with a little wine. There are three aluminum platforms to fish from right on the edge of the river as well as the aluminum stairs option to get back up to the living quarters. We usually used the grassy trail walkway that serpentines upward from the river to the main house.
Ron always made sure we had everything we needed and always had the right answers to our questions. He stayed well connected with the local road conditions and with us to see if we needed to take a detour to make it to one of our excursion on time.

You need not look further for finding the best in the Sterling/Soldotna area for your perfect lodging needs. Your property owners Ron and Katya will make it very difficult to leave this beautiful and thought out rental at the end of your stay. The owners will help you experience anything you have interest in while you are here. The property is beautifully located right on the Kenai River where you are steps away from fishing or just enjoying the sounds of nature. Inside you will find everything you need to make your stay a pleasure. If you need to pick up anything you forgot to pack, Soldotna is just 10 miles down the road. We couldn't recommend this property enough.

Ron and Katya have thought of everything and are the perfect hosts. They go above and beyond for their guests to make sure they have the best vacation possible. This house was amazing! I am a previous resident of Alaska and haven't been back in years. Growing up in Alaska, I was big on fishing and being back in the Kenai and taking in the breath-taking view from this place nearly brought me to tears as I took in the beauty and majesty of the place. The house was super clean and immaculate - perfect in every way! And everything you need to have a great fishing experience is all there - the location is very nice - I went when the sockeye run wasn't all that great (wish I came a little later in July to hit the 2nd run of sockeye) but even when the runs were low and people at the Russian River were catching literally nothing, the fishing spot at this cabin had a good number of sockeye and we were able to take a few back home! I am definitely going to be coming back again - I came back home to California just a couple days ago and I'm already missing this place!

All the comforts of home
We loved our visit to Alaska and Ron and Katya were the perfect hosts. Their little piece of heaven on the Kenai was the perfect spot for us to call home base and travel each day to the many different areas of the Kenai peninsula. This home is very well kept, has everything you could possibly need and sits right on the Kenai River. We stayed a week and loved every minute of it.

Perfect set-up on the river with very nice hosts
Ron and Katya have thought of everything! The place was immaculate and the location on the river was amazing. We especially enjoyed the stacked firewood and fire pits late each evening. It was very clean and welcoming! We would definitely stay there again.

We stay frequently in VRBO properties. This is by far the best. Ron and Katia have thought of everything to make this a great place to vacation. From the friendly greeting by them, the comfortable bed, the plush towels to the unique decorum.. This is a great place... Also,the view from your front area is fabulous... Even though we were first timers to visit Alaska, Ron made sure we knew everything to be successful in fishing in the Kenai. It was a great stay with awesome views of the river.
