The only issue we had was finding the house. VRBO gps address IS NOT THE HOUSE! Property owner did send info on how to get to the house but really needs to update the listing to reflect the correct address. Other than that it was a very cute, fairly clean and well stocked. Close to the entrance of Acadia. The loft upstairs is a nice touch with the 3 beds and a bathroom. The AC is mostly window units and they were a bit noisy. Beds were comfortable.

This was the best VRBO stay that we have ever had. Everything from the home, to the amenities, down to the linens and kitchen utensils was perfect. Location could not have been better, it was secluded and quiet, yet an easy trip to either Ellsworth or Bar Harbor. We had a fantastic time and would recommend this location to anyone planning on visiting Bar Harbor, Maine

The whole family loved this house. It was lovely and in a great central spot for exploring around Mount Desert Island. The beds were so comfy. The deck was a nice space to relax with everyone. The big windows let in nice natural light so it did get warmer in the living space come afternoon but the nice big umbrella on the porch will for sure help shade. The kitchen was nicely stocked with all the basic essentials. and Walmart is only 10-15 minutes away in case something was forgotten. It was a great home base to come back to and relax after a day of exploring!

Quiet location a short distance from Bar Harbor and the park entrances. The house had everything we needed, and was perfect for two retired couples exploring the area.

Great location. The property managers were excellent. We weathered Hurricane Lee here and Bill made sure we were safe and had the essentials. Wonderful trip!

My family and I had a wonderful vacation at the hobo chalet. The location was great, just a short drive to Main Street in Bar Harbor. The house was very clean and everything was very comfortable. The decor was beautiful and we lovedwthe pictures throughout the house.

We had 6 adults visiting Acadia NP. The chalet was conveniently located to Bar Harbor and the park but away from the crowds. Very comfortably furnished with loads of extras ( think kitchen staples, paper products, basic toiletries). All the equipment for experiencing a lobster dinner! A great place to stay!

House was perfect home base for our family (2 parents, 2 grandparents, 2 kids ages 8 &12). Plenty of room for everyone and located with easy access to Acadia, Bar Harbor, and quietside of MDI. We had bikes with us and were very comfortable leaving them outside of the house.
Home itself is in very good conditon, adorably decorated, private, well stocked, and was very well cleaned in advance of our stay. Plenty of towels, toiletries, and paper goods which were very much appreciated. Internet kept up with 6+ devices on our rainy day. For the home cooks: We generally choose to cook and grill a lot when traveling. We opted not to use the onsite grill in this case. It did work, but is on the smaller side and has only 2 burners. We also travel with a nonstick pan, chef's knife, and silicone spatula.... we were happy to have brought all of these with us. Finally, we did opt to purchase a few bags of ice to have on hand.

This is a beautiful, well stocked chalet with new construction and great attention to detail. The beds are comfortable. We had a wonderful time. It is a little remote, but just a short drive to anywhere Bar Harbor. Thankyou for sharing your abode!

This property was very clean and had a ton of extra touches that made our stay very easy and accommodating! This property was close to many things and was a short drive to all the places we travelled. We appreciated the recommendations and planned our trip with many of them included. The weather wasn’t exactly on our side, but we still were able to do a lot and make the most of our family time together! Thank you! We would definitely stay again if we travelled back this way!

This home is very clean, well cared for, stylish and has all the furnishings needed. It has small touches like soaps, cable and internet access and items that make traveling more comfortable. We enjoyed being close to Acadia and Bar Harbor. We highly recommend this property.

We rented both houses on hobo lane for a family reunion. Both houses were beautiful and well kept and stocked. We enjoyed making s’mores around the fire pit! The houses are located so that everything is just a short drive away. Thank you to Heather and Bob for hosting us on our first trip to Maine!

The property offers a quiet, private stay for the family. Nice extras in the kitchen for cooking and baking. Toiletry items and plenty of bath and beach towels in the bathroom were a nice plus. Location offers easy access to both sides of the island and off island shopping.

Lovely House Close to Acadia
We loved this little house! Compact, but roomy! Well stocked kitchen, lots of bath towels, and even some beach towels! The decor is done well. Although the house is fairly close to the road, it's surrounded by trees. The Island Explorer bus picked us up at the end of the lane!!

Lovely house in great location.
The Hobo Chalet was perfect for our Acadia/Bar Harbor vacation. We had our 2 boys ages 7 and 11. House was clean and perfect for our family. Well stocked. Great location to Acadia and downtown bar harbor. We enjoyed nearby restaurants such as Crays and Sweat Peas and kayaking form Hadley beach. 15 min to Acadia and Bar Harbor. We liked being in a more quiet area. Definitely recommend the hobo Chalet!

Fabulous vacation in a fabulous chalet!
The chalet is located centrally on Mount Desert, near grocery stores, restaurants, and easy drive to Acadia National Park. My husband, grown daughter, grown son, and I stayed at the chalet the whole time. We had my brother and sister-in-law wand their teen kids join us one night and for a couple of delightful dinners. The chalet has everything you need. The kitchen is well stocked. We cooked most nights and sat on the lovely deck. There are 3 nice bedrooms. One of the bedrooms in the loft has. 3 full size beds in it, too. We were extremely comfortable. I usually don’t sleep well in new places, but after hiking some challenging hikes, slept great. Also, the owner was very responsive on questions. We would recommend this place to anyone.

Wonderful Place!
This house exceeded my expectations and was perfect for us. The photos don't do it justice. The place was clean, nicely decorated, and well stocked with dishes, pots, pans, and supplies such as soap, shampoo, toilet paper, paper towels, napkins, etc. Even though the highway was somewhat close to the house, it was very quiet and we slept very well on the comfy beds. The house was a few miles from Acadia, which was very convenient for us. We had a wonderful stay at the Hobo Chalet. We would definitely rent this place again.

Great place to stay in Bar Harbor
This was a wonderful 3 BDR house. Three couples in their 60s stayed there and it was awesome. The two downstairs bedrooms are sharing a bathroom and the 3 double bed upstairs room also has a bathroom. Great setup for us. It was very well appointed, nice place in the woods, quiet, beautiful, clean, new. It is as the pictures show, perhaps better. Came from Washington state. Would definitely go back.

All the comforts of home!
We loved this property. From the beautiful nautical decor to the fully stocked kitchen we had everything we needed to enjoy our Maine hiking adventure. Conveniently located between the park and the mainland and although located very close to a highway, the wooded lot offered lots of privacy. Very comfortable mattresses and linens as well! Highly recommend this home.

Great Maine Trip
This home was a perfect for a family vacation that consisted of me, my husband, young son and mother in law. The house was spotless and the host was very helpful. Close to Acadia and Bar harbor and we enjoyed Hadley Point Beach in the evening. Thank you and we hope to return again!

The property exceeded expectations. It was very clean, quiet, easy check in, quick communication with the host, comfortable beds, great shower, and adorable all around! Loved having the fire pit out back and the great deck too. Kitchen was very well stocked which made cooking easy. I read a lot of reviews before booking and happy we went with the property of the ones we narrowed it down to. Highly recommend! Only hiccup was that VRBO sends you the wrong address but host got back to me quickly when we couldn’t find it - make sure to confirm address with host (the one that starts with a 6 is incorrect)

Clean, comfortable and convenient.
Our stay at this chalet was very enjoyable. Nice clean, comfortable house with plenty of space and many amenities. Lovely beach themed decorations. We especially enjoyed relaxing on the large deck on the front of the house after a day of hiking, as well as for some outdoor dining. The house was convenient to both Acadia National Park and the village of Bar Harbor. Would definitely rent this house again!

An Amazing Week at the Hobo Chalet
My wife, college-aged son and I just spent an amazing week at the Hobo Chalet. First, the location is perfect being just a short drive from Acadia and Bar Harbor and very near a winery, the Trenton Bridge Lobster restaurant (highly recommended), Majnely Meats BBQ and the Pirate’s Cove Adventure Golf. The house is set back from ME-3 and you feel like you are in the middle of the woods. We took full advantage of the grill and the deck. The interior is well-appointed with a large screen TV and extremely comfortable sofas on which to watch. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need to cook. The owners prepared a book with recommended activities and dining which is helpful for out of state guests. But of course the highlight of Mount Desert Island is Acadia and we took full advantage of its proximity. It is also worth venturing to the portion of Acadia located on the Schoodic Peninsula which is very beautiful with few hikers. Parking in Bar Harbor is challenging so leave a little extra time if you have restaurant reservations (we ate at Havana, which was fabulous).

Bar Harbor getaway
We had an incredible time at the chalet. All of the pictures are very accurate and representative of this amazing property. The property owner was very responsive, amenable, and helpful with suggestions. The location could not have been better! So close to hiking, downtown area of the adorable bar harbor, and outdoor activities. Location is perfectly situated in Mount Desert Island and allows for easy ability to explore all areas of the island. The house is very well stocked with anything you might need to cook. The house does not have central air but the window units made sleeping quite comfortable. We will definitely be coming back! It was a wonderful stay

Amazing
We loved this place! Cleanliness, location, decor, attention to detail! The owners provided the little things that you wouldn’t even think of. Thanks for having disposable pillow cases, hand sanitizers, etc. Our two families (with kids under 7) all really had a great time and house was perfect for two families with 3-6 kids.

We really enjoyed our Maine vacation. The place was very clean and had comfortable beds. We loved the fit pit. It was a great location and the owner was very responsive. Would definitely recommend.
