Girls weekend hitting up all the shops between Mineral Point and Baraboo. The Outdoor Inn was in a fairly central location 20 min from Spring Green. The property was exactly as described. Overall the cabin was clean. Kitchen and bathroom was adequately supplied. We were dissapointed that it was too cool and damp at night to have a bonfire. A morning walk around the property was enjoyable due to the cut paths. We were able to find the river on the property. Fall colors were amazing. Overall this was a perfect place for our weekend getaway.

The Bear Valley Outdoor Inn was in a beautiful valley with the fall colors turning. It was like our own private oasis. We had some rain but was still able to enjoy our campfires each night! I found the website a bit confusing in terms of knowing what exactly was available on the property for renting/# of rooms, etc. The only thing I'd change is I would have liked the fire ring further away from the buildings so we could enjoy the views more.
Thanks for the hospitality. We'd visit again!

My husband and I stayed here for our 30th wedding anniversary. 40 minute beautiful drive to the dells. Cabin has everything you need to prepare meals easily. We would love to stay again in the fall to see beautiful colors.

My friends and I drove our scooters around the spectacular countryside. It was beautiful. Bill, the property owner, was wonderful. He checked in with us often, and even drove our garage sale purchases back to our unit (we couldn't carry them on scooters)! Great vacation.

Everything was advertised. Enjoyed the quiet setting and the abundance of things to do in the area.

Clean and comfortable. We were entertained each morning by the chickens and Rowdy, the Jack Russell. Great place to see the stars. Bill is a terrific host, and we’ll happily return.

Very comfortable, cute decor. (Except taxidermy items) Beautiful grounds with manicured walking trails. Chickens, river, waterfall, fire flies, friendly doggies, sand cranes, and racoons! Great area for walking. Exceptional management and owner.

This place was perfect. The whole place was very charming. Little winding creek on the property, lots of wildlife, cute pups, fire pits with lots of wood bundles for five bucks. Couldn't have asked for a better experience! Darcy was very nice! We went for a weekend to check out house on the rock (also awesome) and it was the perfect place to stay. Just a 30 min ride away. Highly recommend!

We stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed the quiet at night the most. The location was perfectly distance from all the plans we had but changed to include wonderful secluded areas left in the book provided by Bill of small local hidden gems! The small touch of those details was great!

Nice and spacious. All the extras in kitchen and bath were great.

I've stayed here before and we got exactly what we wanted out of the place. Property was beautiful and clean as well as secluded. We wanted to be away from the city while still close enough to a few golf course and this was the perfect fit. Will definitely be staying here again.

My husband and I had a wonderful time at the Pine Unit. Well-appointed and clean unit with a lot of character and charm. Answered all of our questions quickly and were very accomodating to our needs. Even better, we found an addition to our family, Mr Waffles (our new cat).

This property was so nice to escape to for a weekend in nature! It was so beautiful with the snow, the hills, and the river in the winter. The unit was also very cute and felt like a traditional cabin getaway. Bill was also very nice and made sure everything was going well for us during our stay :)

We did a girls getaway and really enjoyed this place! The unit was clean, spacious and had great amenities. The hosts were very welcoming, especially Mayva and Rowdy, who made us feel very loved. The property is so gorgeous and perfectly filled with natural grasses and plants, a frog pond which is simply magical, and there are natural but cleared pathways to explore into the meadow down to the brook. It’s a nature lover’s absolute dream. Now add some entertaining chickens, two adorable pups and the nicest folks that run the place and you’ve got yourself a slice of heaven! I hope to stay again!

Worth another visit!
We thoroughly enjoyed our time! The kitchen had everything we needed. The furniture was comfy. There was plenty of space both for cooking together and just hanging out. Our hosts were gracious—including the sweet dog who would stop by for a pat when we were outside. Fun to hear the clucks of chickens and crow of the rooster. We would definitely stay there again.

Clean and quiet
The cabin is rustic but very clean and accommodating. In a quiet area but fairly close to lots of places to fish. Our first trip to this area and it is beautiful.

Can’t Wait To Come Back!
Absolutely perfect weekend getaway! The cabin is so cute and cozy- great for a winter getaway. My friend and I enjoyed hiking in the area and having a fire on the property in the evening. Bill was extremely helpful and kind. We are already planning our next trip when we return in the summer!

Cozy, comfortable, charming.
An abundance of bird feeders, with one directly in front of the kitchen, allowing you to view many beautiful birds over a cup of coffee in the morning.

Perfect Getaway
I had an amazing, quiet getaway and writing weekend at Bear Valley Outdoor Inn. Less than an hour from Madison but feels like a different world.
The property was exactly as advertised, and I appreciated all the small touches that other VRBOs often overlook, like dish soap, plenty of towels, and even tea!
Bill was a kind and helpful host, and the tip about eagles paid off. Saw 5 eagles while on my walk!

Great centrally located spot in the driftless region
We really enjoyed relaxing and having breakfast and watching the birds outside our window. Bill kindly welcomed us when we arrived. This place had everything we needed including great classic games to play and a nice collection of books. The location is central to many parks and hiking locations in the Driftless region and was a perfect home base for a weekend of adventure!

Overall we enjoyed staying here! The lodging was really clean and beautiful. You can tell they’ve done a good job keeping up with the inn. Despite being a tucked away area, it was clear and easy to find and not a difficult drive to go out into town and do things.
There were some things on the listing that were advertised that they did not actually have which was disappointing, some examples being what is on the property and the lodging having a dvd player there. Very small details that aren’t a big deal by any means, but for the nights we stayed in it would’ve been good to have clarity about what they have and don’t have considering there is minimal internet connection there.
The only big issue our weekend there was a lack of communication with the host. The night before we left there was a small snowstorm. The morning after when we were trying to leave he was there on the property but at no point came outside to help us shovel/plow out of the snow or even check how we were doing. There wasn’t even a shovel offered to us. That rubbed us the wrong way. Additionally, comments were made to us afterwards about how upset they were regarding the number of linens we used, which seemed strange considering we followed all the house rules regarding linen use and clean up.
Overall a beautiful property and despite some of that miscommunication it was a fun place for a quiet getaway!

I stayed at Bear Valley Outdoor Inn in October with my wife and adult daughter. Overall, we were impressed and highly recommend this property. The unit was extremely well maintained, clean, and spacious. The photos posted by the owner provide an accurate impression of the rural surroundings, which were lovely. The "Inn" appears to have several units--but it was very quiet (we didn't see or hear our neighbors--though at least one other unit was occupied). We appreciated the attention to details provided for guests' convenience, such as small LED flashlights placed at strategic locations and outdoor lights with motion sensors by the door to the property (it gets very dark at night away from the city lights).
