Location. We wanted to explore this part of the derby dales. The heating was clear to operate and efficient. The cottage had been cleaned to a good standard, towels and linen good. and the kitchen had most thing required, see below
On the assumption that someone goes in to clean for the next guests that was done well. However the the carpets were filthy throughout, It badly needs redecorating. Master bedroom the bed was glued together, wonky and uncomfortable., needs updating. Second bedroom (we did not use) had little storage and the tall cupboard (Wardrobe?) had the back missing and no shelving. Third room, bunkbed some sort of hanging storage usually found in a caravan. The bathroom, cracked tiles on the floor that needs a proper clean. Shower rail lose, poor electric shower with small head.

The location was amazing, quiet and in the countryside but a 4 min drive to Ashbourne for anything we needed. The photos don’t do it justice and in reality is much bigger than it looks! Really quaint and cosy, comfy sofas/chairs/beds and handy to have two loos! We really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful cottage and would have loved to have stayed longer :) there is so much to do in the local area. We also had a really delicious meal at the local pub The Red Lion.
The stairs are really creaky/noisy which only really affected us as we were staying with a two year old toddler and my parents…wouldn’t usually be a problem but something to bear in mind if you’re a parent of babies/young kids who go to bed early. Could do with adding pint glasses (but we just borrowed plastic ones from the pub), and my mum was allergic to the down cushions, hypoallergenic ones might be better. We needed to use the wifi all night for our toddlers room camera/ipad, but if anyone else used the internet on their phones it would kick you out of the camera stream.

we all felt very welcomed and comfortable. great location to all the places we wanted to visit. thank you!
only con is the road is busy on a bend so be careful crossing!

Comfortable beds. Clean and tidy cottage. Contact with owners excellent. Everything you need is there.
No local shop. Didn't really affect us.
Parking is a downside. Could be difficult when busy later in the year.

. Great Location
. House was spotless
. Nice and cozy
. Perfect for a couple of days
. Felt like a home from home
Nothing we didnt like but just some bits to maybe improve on
. Bigger bath towels would be amazing, slightly on the small side
. Beds quite old and well used, new bases needed.

Cottage is lovely and quaint, nice village location.
Parking situation is not ideal and the property is basically straight onto a main road which is quite noisy at times and cars speed up and down there often.
The stairs are also very noisy which makes creeping around at night if you have a little one in bed difficult

lovely cosy and comfortable cottage. had all facilities needed
on a main road and parking was an issue for us. parked on the main road in the end

It was very comfortable, pleasant and had everything you needed. The wood burning stove was very welcome on autumnal evenings.
Parking was slightly tricky, but not very difficult.

Property basic but reasonable.
Good central location
Walking distance to nice pub
The property is tired and dated and smelled strongly of mould.
Beds not particularly comfortable & felt like they were going to collapse every time you turned over. Third bedroom is really a cupboard with a high bed over the stairwell (not suitable for young children).
Garden challenging for dogs - property on main road with low brick wall - had to keep dogs on leads.
You needed to be over 6 feet tall to open the bathroom window (had to use a chair from downstairs)

Perfect for visiting Peak District. Cottage great
Position of cottage being next to the road.

great location, very clean with enough crockery and utensils
shower leaked through ceiling. couldn’t get the hob to work

The cottage was clean, comfortable and well-equipped. The village was lovely and the local pub a real bonus.
Overall the cottage was looking tired and dated. The outside areas were very scruffy and the fencing, decking and gate all rotten and in need of replacement. This was a real disappointment as we had hoped to sit outside as the weather was good.
A maintenance note regarding a blocked plug hole left over a year ago hadn’t been attended to as the problem persisted but was easily resolved with a bit of attention.
Overall in need of some TLC

It was clean and comfortable. Spacious and very well equipped with a nice welcome pack. Lovely area.
Parking was difficult in the village.

A good size property and a location perfect for walks in the countryside. Well equipped kitchen and washer-drier.
Parking a bit tight but locals assured us there wasn’t ever an issue.

Location if you like walks and visiting local attractions. Cottage was cosy and comfortably histed 5 adults with one child. House was well equipped for all our needs and emergency items ( bulbs etc were available) Information booklet quite comprehensive. We would definitely use this cottage again.
Everything for us was good but you may wish to study the details. Parking may be a problem in the summer and there is not really a garden. However I cannot say this is a fault as we didn't need one and there were plenty of footpaths to walk our dog in the mornings.

Quiet location
Couldn't work out how the oven worked.
Previous guests had left lots of rubbish in the wheely bin, it wasn't very pleasant.

It was clean and comfortable
Spacious and very well equipped with a nice welcome pack
Lovely area
The location as the cottage was a main road right on the corner so with children it made it very dangerous crossing the road as it was a blind spot

Comfy beds... big house everything you want in the house :)
The decking area needs a jet wash and bleach..
Parking could be a problem.
Kitchen sink blocked.
House is on a bend on fast road well 30mph 🤣🤣 ..... watch young kids

Spotlessly clean. Kitchen had everything you could need (except the oven!) Smoke alarms work!
The markings on the oven controls had been cleaned off, so working the oven was guesswork. This resulted in us putting it on grill by accident and setting fire to the garlic bread! We didn't use the oven after this. Bunk is top bunk only, so neither my mother or mother in law (81 & 91) could use that room, so they shared the other room.
